Telstra 4G Modem (Sierra AirCard 320U) not connecting

I keep trying to connect using the 4G USB modem and keep getting the message below. I have tried this on different computers (Vista Business and Windows 7) as well as trying multiple USB ports (with and without extension USB) and have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and software multiple times. I have seen others having this same issue and theirs was resolved by changing USB ports or something simple like that, so I have tried everything I've seen, even downloading the Sierra AirCard Watcher although that seems to do nothing for me. I don't believe this is an issue of going over data allowance either as the details of the plan state if allowance is reached that it simply charges extra. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Hello Wilson,I have an Aircard 320u as well, and previously could connect with no issues. Upon insertion it would ask to select from two options one with Gobi 3000 and one without. Only the one without would work.Now however it does not allow for selection and just came with error.When i checked the the device manager, it says the the Gobi 3000 is connected.This has happened twice now and I think I realised what has happened. Both times happened when I have inserted my Iphone 5 which had Personal Hotspot turned on which I often use as an alternative option to go online. Since then I have uninstalled the drivers in hope that reinserting will make it reinstall but it does not. I held shift in the manager and pressed reset TCP but got an error "Failed with Error:1" and clearing INF cache does not seem to do anything. I then click install drivers which works fine, but when i insert the card, it still does not install the driver. Please help....

Hi,I am unsure if I have a safari or modem problem. It only happens when I use my macbook pro, my HP windows is fine. Internet crashes on modem and then a message that safari is not connected. I don't know where to start sorry I am not technical at all.

Safari brings up a page you are not connected to the internet. I then look at the modem and DSL and internet lights are both flickering and or/off.
They then re-set themselves. I then have to re-set preferences on safari and quit and restart.
I have also tried using with cable into mac and modem and no difference.
I can only figure that maybe Safari is not compatible with the modem? could this be the case?

The first thing to try is changing your DNS settings - and for that you need to open System Preferences, then the
Network section.
In Network - click on Advanced - then the DNS tab
under DNS servers - use the + button to enter two extra lines
either these, from google dns
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
or from OpenDNS
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
then click OK & then 'Apply'
You would need to do that seperately for the Cable (Ethernet) settings and Wireless (Airport)

You need to power off the modem for 15-30 seconds, then power back up and then connect. The modem is remembering the last connection (your friend).

Windstream tech service is useless. i can connect with the built in router through Ethernet or wireless, but still no connecting to internet, help! windstream said everything is working on their end, yea right. There is a 2701HG-B, and a 2701HG-D. If not labelled on the modem, ask Windstream which one they presently supply or how to tell the difference.
By the way tell your wife it isn't that bad. At least you have an ethernet DSL modem. There were times where DSL modems had RJ-11, USB, and Ethernet, and all three were used to provide access. At least now only the craziest DSL providers still use those modems.

I receive a "not connected to the internet message" several times daily on my iMac connected via airport to a time capsule which accesses the internet via a cable modem. Software/firmware is up to date on the iMac (OSX 10.6.8) and Tme Capsule(7.5.2). Browser is Safari 5.1.
When I input my password at the prompt to enter network preferences, all the lights go green (ie... ethernet, ISP etc.) and the connection re-establishes immediately and states "the connection appears to be working normally".
It more of a nuisance than anything and seems to have started ocurring over the past couple of months. I also have a windows XP box also connected to the same cable modem that I never have internet connectivity issues with. I've verified all the physical aspects of the connections and can't see any evidence of any actual drops in the modem logs. I suspect it is just an intermittent communication loss between the Imac and the Time Capsule, but I am not very familiar with Mac equipment yet.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced a similar problem and what you did (if anything) to resolve it?

The AirPort Express will connect to your existing wireless network if the network is using WPA2 Personal or WPA/WPA2 Personal wireless security settings.
So, it can join the network as a client and then provide an Ethernet signal to your Time Capsule.
Be sure to configure the Time Capsule to operate in Bridge Mode so that it will be operating on the same network.

I am familiar with how to add hardware and point to a .msi file under XP, but less so on Windows 7. I ran the add hardware tool, but it finds no new hardware to add. There is no point installing a driver when the hardware can't be found. Besides, I didn't do anything that would have changed or removed the old driver. My WiFi was working perfectly until Sunday.
I also tried rolling back windows to an earlier restore point. Unfortunately, it reports that it is unable to apply any of the prior restore points (even after I temporarily disabled Norton AntiVirus).

1. Because it is either the same IP as the new one or hidden by being plugged in as a second router.
To access it, isolate one computer from the existing network and plug it directly by ethernet to a lan port of the TC. Use the erase function in the TC to remove all the content of the hard disk.
Then go to the internet tab, connection sharing and select off bridged. You can then reconnect the TC to the network.. and the computer as well. The TC will act as bridged device.. getting IP from the main router and should then appear correctly in Airport utility.
2. I covered in 1. But you just go in airport utility manual setup. disk, and you will see the erase function. You can also set it to bridge and leave the erase until you put it back in the network.. but be careful you erase the right one.
3. You can use the old TC via wired or wireless.. although I would always stick to wired connection if possible. Speed on wireless is 10x worse than wired.
Also note the reliability goes down dramatically after 2 years.. a series 1 3 years old or more is ebay fodder unless you want to repair it. Do not trust vital data to it.. when it dies you will have issues recovering it.
4. Yes, all apple routers will function as wireless extenders. when you do that the ethernet ports turn off so it becomes a purely wireless device.. strange apple decision on what you want to use your TC for.

I have a new comcast modem i have connected to Time Capsule with cable, TC in double NAT. As when I tried it in bridge mode I cannot use Sonos, the units will not connect to the wifi network? I thought Bridge mode would make the wifi signal better??

I have the TC connected to the comcast modem, with TC in Double NAT mode. I set up the sonos music players ok. But I read that to incresae the wifi signal the TC should be in Bridge mode. Then I cannot get any of the Sonos units to connect to the wifi network.
So two questions, does the Bridge mode give a better wifi signal then double NAT?
Why will sonos not connect to the network when in Bridge mode?

A PC can have more issues connecting than a Mac.
But it really should not matter.. so just try it in situ.. press and hold the reset.. once it starts up, it will return to default IP, 10.0.1.1 the PC should then be able to find it via the airport utility.
If not drag it over to the Mac and plug in there by ethernet.. or since it is a laptop, really should not be that difficult to drag the Laptop and plug it into the TC.
Important thing is to get access to the TC.
The Mac if it is running lion, then you MUST download and install 5.6 airport utility to do anything useful.

Sorry, but this is not correct. Your Internet connection speed is established by the plan that you have with your Internet Service Provider. The AirPort Extreme will not "speed it up".
Unless there is some special feature that the AirPort Extreme provides that you need, adding another wireless router...when you already have one.... is not going to buy you anything.
The AirPort Extreme is compatible with your modem/router if you want to continue to try to hook it up. It will really help if you have a Mac for the configuration as the Windows Firewall often blocks connection and configuration attempts.

My Airport Extreme 5th generation says it's not connected to the modem

My airport express died after 7 years. I upgraded to the Airport Extreme however when trying to configure it says I am not connected to the internet and that it can't find the DNS server. Any suggestions? I have Time Warner as my ISP.

Some cable modems store the identity (MAC address) of the computer/router attached to them and will work only with that one until they are reset (sometimes by powering them off and back on, sometimes by remote command from the cable provider). I have no clue whether yours would be one of them, but you might try the power cycle trick.
Another possibility is that your Extreme has not been configured properly to work with your modem. An example of a mismatch would be an Extreme trying to use DHCP to get an IP address from a modem not equipped to issue one.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
