Telstra Services on Iphone 4

I have recently changed service provider to Telstra which has been fantastic. However, i decided to update my iphone 4 to the new IOS 6.
SInce i have updated my phone, when i recieve an sms from a particlar person the altert comes up as "voicemail" rather than the contact name.
I have a feeling it has something to do with the fact that the contact's phone number has 101 in it which conflicts with Telstra voicemail.
I have tried restoring my iphone and also using an older backup but this has made no change. I have now restored my phone and set it to a "new iphone" and did not sync contacts. I got my friend to send me a text to see if it would come up as a blank number or as "voicemail" but unfortunately it has come up as voicemail.
In the iphone if i go to settings--> phone--> Tesltra Services there are all these services from telstra with the associated number. For example: Messagebank Callback #101#. I think i need to delete these Telstra Services. Does anyone know how to do this, or how to resolve my problem?
This only happened since i updated my iphone to the iphone IOS6.

There is no additional charge to use location services. What it does is let your applications to know where you are. iPhones do not have an international warranty. Warranty is valid only for the country of purchase. This is most likely because different countries require different iPhone models. Not reasonable to expect all countries to maintain stock for all models.

Simple solution if you don't want to lose your unlimited data on your iPhone, just don't use the HotSpot feature. You could go with the Verizon iPhone, no, they charge for the HotSpot feature also.
If you really need the HotSpot feature you could shop Sprint, T-Mobile, MetroPCS, some of them either have it included or at a lower rate from what I understand.

Location Services on iPhone Problem after Active it !

After Active My new iPhone 5 , Location Services on iPhone is ON, But Maps and other applications can not use it ! on maps show massage " Cannot Determine Location ". Please Help !

Problem solved and this may help others:
After updating to iOS 7 for some reason my settings were changed in restrictions. My solution was to got to General>Restrictions>Location Services and set to Allow Changes. It then allowed me to turn services on.

No service in Iphone 3GS after upgrading to 6.0.1

I have an Iphone 3GS with IOS version 4.1. Last saturday I upgraded it to IOS 6.0.1 and since then I get No service and Searching messages.
I tried my SIM card in a different Iphone and it worked fine. I tried another working SIM card in my Iphone, and it also got No Service or Searching.
I tried restoring, but still no luck.
My phone worked fine till this upgrade, for both calls and internet connection.
Any suggestion on how to proceed?
Please techies, these devices should have a way to go back to a previosu version of the software which ws working fine.

It is obvious that I did not make myself clear in my first message.
The problem is with the phone after doing an upgrade, It is an Apple issue, that is why I am posting it in this forum.
Once more, "I tried my SIM card in a different Iphone and it worked fine. I tried another working SIM card in my Iphone, and it also got No Service or Searching." There is nothing wrong with the SIM card, it works fine, in fact I have it running in another phone till I sort out this issue.
The upgrade does not depend on Movistar or any other carrier, and this problem is happening worldwide.
I am afraid that you are misleading the problem.

How do I use my old (no service)Verizon iPhone 4s in Europe?

Hello! I have an iPhone 4s (Verizon) that no longer has any service. I'd like to use it with a European SIM card on vacation. I can't find what steps I need to take to be able to do this. Do I still need to call Verizon? Is there a way to do it without dealing with them? I appreciate any help. I also have an old 3gs if that phone is easier.

You contact Verizon and ask if they will unlock the SIM slot for international use.
As for the 3GS, you would need to contact AT&T about having it unlocked if you have not done so already.

I seem to have gotten myself into a tricky situation. I use a Blackberry 9900 as my main phone and love it as I send hundreds of emails and hundreds of IMs, BBMs, Tweets etc everday. I've always envied the ease an iPhone offers in terms of speed, browsing on a larger screen and the far superior app store. Nevertheless I'm reluctant to fully trade in my Blackberry. I got a new job and have a lot of work contacts and my job involves photography, networking and promotion. I decided to find an iPhone 3G to use for this side of my life and so I could use Instagram. My friend told me her boyfriend had an iPhone 4S available as he now had the new Samsung 3 phone and I could get it for 'mates rates' I bought it for £250. I think it's a good price.
He told me it was locked to 3 and this wasn't a concern to me because it's a work phone I don't care which network I'm using. My Blackberry is on o2.
I purchased a micro sim from 3 for iPhone's and put it in to see it say 'No Service' I went into the 3 store and they told me I inserted it correctly and gave me te customer service number and let me use the in store phone to contact them. I gave them the phone information I received when I purchased it and they told me that the phone was blocked. I was so upset. I asked how can I unlock it as I'm now the owner and paid a fair amount of cash for it and they told me to contact the sellr and that he can call them for me and unblock it vert easily. I contacted him and he told me to try another sim and has since been no help.
He has assured me the phone is not faulty and that it was working for him. He gave me a print out of the warranty for he phone and it does not expire until Oct 16th 2012. Three insist when I called back that the phone isn't faulty but indeed blocked. I offered to give them his name and details to prove I knew the owner, but they will not accept this. I told him this is too much hassle and I would like my money back, he will not text me.
My friend, well she is saying that the phone worked just fine for them.
I don't know how to fix an iphone, I don't know if it's faulty or blocked. 3 wouldn't lie, but I didn't expect my friend would either.
Can I fix this on my own? I'm not usually impulsive and this is why :/
Is there anything I can download to unlock it on my own. It is essentially at this point an iTouch and if I wanted that I would have purchased that for less than I paid or this.

The previous carrier is the company Three. I bought the 3 sim and it didn't work so I went to my local Three shop and with the information I gave them they told me the phone was blocked. Is this the same as what you are saying?

NO SERVICE ON iPhone 5 AFTER 7.1.1 UPDATE - (showing all the steps I made just to try and bring the signal of my carrier back) HELP!

Hi there, I did an iOS update for my iPhone 5 model: MD300ZP/A (FACTORY UNLOCKED)
After the update through iTunes. I restored my phone from the back up. I noticed that the signal bars for my carrier (Globe Telecom - Philippines) we're abnormally low. I tried calling my wife and it didn't push through. Tried a text message and it did not send. I had 2 bars of signal in a place where I normally have full coverage. My LTE and 3G works though.
After this I decided to;
1. Reset the network settings and nothing happened. Still no signal.
2. Put into airplane mode - waited 5-10 secs and turned off airplane mode. Still no signal.
3. Turned off 3G/LTE - waited a few secs. - Still no signal. - Turned it on again. Still no signal.
4. Did another full restore and update. Still no signal.
5. Another full restore and update to new iPhone (not restoring from my back up). Still no signal.
6. Put the iPhone on recovery mode - Plugged into to itunes. Made a restore from back up. Still no Signal.
7. Did No. 6 again and DID NOT restore from back up and set up as new iPhone. Still no signal.
8. Did another recovery mode and then restore. Ejected the phone and restored from iCloud. Still no signal.
9. Did another recovery mode and then restore. Ejected the phone and set up as new iPhone. GOT A SIGNAL! But still did not let me push through calls and text messages. Then the signal went away.
In between these steps I would get a "Update Carrier settings" window. I would see that and then click update then observe the phone. Nothing happens. Still no signal.
In between those steps again I would choose not to "Update the Carrier settings" and then the iPhone would carry a signal and then I will try to call but nothing happens once again.
10. I tried putting in other carrier sims and ONE worked - (Smart Telecom - Philippines) the other did not (SUN - Philippines).
11. Tried putting in my wifes sim (same as what didn't work for me) (GLOBE - Philippines) Still did NOT WORK.
12. Tried putting the sim that doesn't work on my updated phone to my wifes iPhone 5 which was still on 7.1 ONLY - AND IT WORKED.
13. Called my carrier and still nothing they have told me has helped.
now my iPhone is stuck on no service when I input the carrier sim that I have been using on it for a year now. Never jailbroken nor unlocked by a 3rd party software.
Anything I missed???

I am having the same issue here... just upgraded my 5s to 7.1.1 (never jailbroken - factory unlocked) and then boom... NO Service!!! Searching ... that's it. currently using Smart Telecom Sim... at first it was working for me... after 6-7 hours, it started the No Service issue. I cannot send a text or make a call...
I did the steps you have taken but it is still not working... any updates on your end?

After updating my iPhone 3gs to 6.1.6, am having a "No Service" problem. I can't even activate my iPhone.

You can try resetting your iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

"No Service" on iPhone 3GS since upgrading to OS 4.3.1

I've just upgraded my iphone OS to 4.3.1 & can no longer pick up any signal (locations in London where I have had no problem in the past & other phones are fine), I seen to permanently have the "No Service" message in the top left.
So far I have tried:
switching it on & off
resetting using the sleep & home button
resetting the network settings
restoring from a backup
taking the simcard out & putting it back in again
Nothing has worked so far. As i understand there is no rollback procedure with Apple OS, is there anything else I can try?
Not sure if it makes any difference but I have a Dutch T-mobile simcard but there's never been a problem using it back in London or upgrading in London. Any help appreciated!

I'm having the same problem. The last couple of days my cell service has been weird - I'll make a call and it will immediately fail, for example.
This afternoon I tried to make a call and it tried to connect (start ringing) for a loooooong time. I gave up and my service status went to "Searching..." and stayed that way. I am in an area with full 3G coverage, and our other iPhone (3G) and 2 iPads had full 3G signals. I was able to make a call with the 3G phone so I know it's nota service or signal issue.
A few minutes ago I had full 5 bars but could not place a call. The status just says AT&T, not "3G" like normal. If I try to place a call it just hangs, and doesn't even say anything under the person's name (like where it normally says "calling" or "dialing" or whatever it is). If I cancel it will quickly flash to "calling" then immediately to "cancelled".
This is really weird. Texts will not go through, either.
I'm about to do a restore so hopefully that does the trick. FWIW, the phone is not jailbroken and never has been.
