Telus IMAP Mail Bug Report

Bug: Telus IMAP mailbox won't go online unless you use Preferences/Accounts/Advanced/Allow Insecure Authorization.  Then it will work BUT the Preference is NOT SAVED.  I have to reset it every time I boot up the machine.
Should be an easy fix for Apple.

I have the exact same issue. Im hoping other mac users with Telus will report this so that we can get a fix with the next update. It is definitely a OS X yosemite issue. None of the problems that I am having started until I upgraded .

  • Bug report: Mail sends messages with empty bodies

Over the last year, I have experienced a particularly irritating bug in Mail.app at least a dozen times. I finally have a good idea as to what causes it.
The problem involves long email messages (often with attachments) that end up being sent with blank bodies (and no attachments). Even the copy in the "Sent" folder ends up blank, and several minutes or hours of work vanishes into thin air, not to be seen ever again.
I finally realized that this bug only occurs when sending mail through our work SMTP server while outside the work firewall, and only as a result of a certain sequence of events. Here is what happens:
When we connect to our work SMTP server from outside the local network and without going through the VPN, the SMTP server requires password authentication. If the current SMTP selection in Mail.app is the one that does not require authentication, the SMTP server rejects the message. At that point, Mail.app opens the email I am trying to send and brings up a modal dialog that says "Cannot send message using the server xxx.xxx -- The server response was: xxx@xxx relaying prohibited. You should authenticate first." The dialog also presents a drop-down list of SMTP server choices. I choose the password-authenticated version of the server and then click on "Use Selected Server" to send the message.
This works almost all the time, but on occasion it ends up sending a blank message! If I have a long email, particularly with attachments such as PDFs that are rendered in the body of the message, it takes a few seconds for the mail message to be rendered underneath the modal dialog box. Since I am used to this STMP rejection behavior, sometimes I am too fast to choose another STMP server from the list and click on "Use Selected Server" before the mail message is rendered on screen! The result, invariably, is a blank email message that gets sent.
I guess what is happening is that when the STMP server rejects the message and hands it back to Mail.app, the message gets copied into a buffer in order to be displayed on screen. Selecting another server and resending it immediately (before the message is copied into the buffer completely) causes the message body to get trashed.
I hope that this description is adequate for Apple QA folks to replicate and isolate the problem (and hopefully fix it). One solution (although not the most elegant one) would be to disable the "Use Selected Server" action until the message is copied into the buffer and rendered on screen.

E-mail looses all images if mail server doesn't accept outgoing email...
You cannot count on Apple looking into this or even noticing it if you report it here, so I suggest you the same I suggested in the other thread, i.e. report it in one of the following places:

  • [bug report] Built in email client: charset is alw...

I have to repost this bug report (originally submitted to http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117995 ), since no one replied.
My Nokia E50's built-in email client incorrectly displays multipart messages, i.e. plaintext+html. The program prefers html part over plaintext, but always displays it in ISO-8859-1 codepage, regardless of the "Content-Type: text/html; charset=CHARSET" modifier in the message. For languages other than English this causes total message garbling. Such plaintext+html multipart messages are very widespread.
I guess that all Nokia Symbian smartphones are affected.
    Additional information.
The X-Mailer string: EPOC Email Version 2.10
    *#0000#:
    V 07.36.0.0
    07-09-2007
    RM-170
    Nokia E50
By the way, should I report the bug to Nokia Care rather than Nokia Support forums?

Its funny that you mention BCC'ing because thats the only semi-solution I could come up with as well using the default email client. Also, Mobile Documents is a good 3rd party solution. It has its own limitations, but it will sync to the proper folders. I use it when I don't feel like going through the convoluted BCC process.
If anyone from Nokia programming can see this, full IMAP sync functionality would certainly be a welcome addition in future updates to the email program.  Those of use using the same email account on many different devices consider it a necessity.

  • Since I can not log in bug report page, not even getting an error message, I'll write all my issues with ios8 here...

Since I can not log in bug report page, not even getting an error message, I'll write all my issues with ios8 here... I have an iphone 4S and I did the last update. Now I am in trouble.
    1. When I move the "sound on/off" button, I get it buzzing 10 times before the setting is changed and I can do anything else, just not reacting to the round button on screen touches.
    2. Impossible to copy text from most websites into notes.
    3. Impossible to delete an email account in settings.
    4. Uses up the battery twice as fast as before. I have "update apps" setting turned off, just reading a couple of mails, making a couple of photos and open maps apps twice a day, and the battery is dead well before the evening.
    5. Got extremely slow, and it was getting slower and slower with every system update.
I'm sure I forgot something... But well, that already a lot.

Well, actually number 3 in my list is not true any more, I just tried to delete my account 15 times, then I've written my post, then half an hour later my Settings finally updated my accounts list. Whohoo
I did not try restoring it yet, thank you for the link!

  • Wish list and bug reports?

In my short acquaintance with xcelsius 2008 (fix pack 2 now) I have come across a number of bugs (not saying how big a number...) and come up with a number of new features suggestions which I consider crucial (sure, maybe noone else does) but I don't know of an offical repository for the above.
Is there an official bug reporting tool for xcelsius? Where do I go and whige about feature omissions or suggest new ones please?
    THanks a lot
    c

Wow, that's a real Christmas list. Some of the things you questioned others will have to answer as I've no experience with them, I don't use Pandora or have a Mac. I did check out the website you listed, the site loads just fine, the quicktime movies do not load nor run because you need the quicktime player and it's not compatible with the PB. I doubt if Apple is concerned about this :-).
As for deleting the music file, go to AppWorld and download the AIR Browser (or other file manger of your choice), it's free, it lets you do almost everything, similar to Windows Explorer, select the file and nuke it. On the languages, it does change the keyboard and if you press and hold a letter that needs a special character that special character will show up in blue, tap it to use it, EX, in Spanish the N will have the Tilde over it. I did have the clicking on the keyboard go away once, did a restart and it's worked ever since. As for removing an App, go to. I just deleted Hotmail and Yahoo mail and it's been about 15 minutes and they've not come back so not sure about slacker. After you deleted them did you click the little check mark on the left in the menu bar to get out of and save the deletion? Some of the other things you mention like Auto Capitalize the first letter needs to be fixed and I bet you see them fixed in V2. It ain't perfect but I love it still. You might get better responses to an issue by listing only one per post and putting it in the subject line, then someone who is familiar with that issue will be more likely to see it and respond. Also check the previous posts and knowledge base for answers to a lot of questions. Hope this helps

If it's the former, then you're pretty much screwed, as you willingly submitted it to them. You can ask them "please don't read this", but I wouldn't bet on that helping.
If you're worried about it becoming public knowledge, then I'd contact them. You should have gotten a mail (either during registration or after you reported the bug) that explains a lot about the bug tracking process and contains contact > information as well. If the information is something that's obviously private information (such as username+password to a public site), then you can probably assume that Sun is smart enough not to make that publicly available. Thanks for your reply.
The reason is what you said , there are private information, so i can not let the report become public .
The private information are some class names , package names, and codes .
I got a email after i reported the bug . But i can't find contacts from the mail .
So i come here ,asking a help . Help me to contact whit them......
If you know how to contact whit them , I hope to get your help.

  • RH bug reports sent to dead Macromedia address

When one reports a RoboHelp bug through
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform,
the bug report is apparently submitted to a no longer existing
    Macromedia address.
One gets an e-mail bach with the error message: "Your message
did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Subject: [
Bug Report ] Sent: [Date]. The following recipient(s) could not be
reached: [email protected] The e-mail account does not
exist at the organization this message was sent to."
Other than being an insult to the RH user community, it ought
to be in Adobe's own interest to get bug info from their users.
Anyone knows an Adobe address to which we can send RH bug reports
(and expect them to be read)?

The link to the page is as below, without the comma at the
    end.
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
I just tested it and it worked fine. I got an acknowledgement
immediately. Also I can confirm that all the bug reports and
feature requests do get read and considered.
Try again Morten and see what happens. Nobody has reported
this before so I think there must have been a glitch.

  • Bug report: Russian Translation Messages

There are several incorrectly translated messages. Better translation is below. English original is back-translated, so could be not exact in all cases. Russian text should be replaced.
Mail - Setup - View/Actions (Почта - настройки - отображение и действия) - "удалить подтверждение сообщения" (remove message confirmation) should be "подтверждение удаления сообщения" (confirm message removal)
Blackberry World Setup / General(Общие настройки) - 'Cохранить на карту памяти' (save once to SD card) should be 'Cохранять на карту памяти' (usually save to SD card)
Blackberry World Payment methods - 'Методы оплаты' should be 'Способы оплаты'
Clipboard Select / Select all should be 'Выделить' / 'Выделить все' (as select/highlight), not 'Выбрать' / 'Выбрать все' (as 'choose') phone-wide
SMS is translated as 'Текстовые сообщения' (Text Messages) in Russian. Untranslated 'SMS' or at least 'Сообщения' (messages) is much more common for Russia.
A message after doing a software update check is not correct: 'В настоящее время установлена самая последняя версия ПО' (Latest software version is currently installed) - should be 'В настоящее время установлена последняя доступная версия ПО' (Latest available software version is currently installed)
"Ожидание подключения для передачи данных" message (Waiting for data connection) during set-up doesn't fit the screen, should be wrapped or cut.
"Новый часовой пояс <...> время отправлено" (New timezone... time sent) notification during the initial set-up should be 'время установлено' (time set).
    Cheers,
    Alex

  • Adobe bug report system broken

I've been having issues with Flash Pro CS6 that are getting progressively worse. I filed a few bug reports using their Bug Report form here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
I just noticed today that I had some delivery failure notifications for those bug reports in my spam box.
Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists:
    [email protected]
The recipient's e-mail address was not found in the recipient's e-mail system. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you. Please check the e-mail address and try resending this message, or provide the following diagnostic text to your system administrator.
The form submits to a nonexistent email address. This is basically Adobe giving everyone the finger. Great.

    Suhas,
It is not fixed. It is not even changed:
Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists:

  • Help! Flash bug reports returned as "undeliverable"

I've been attempting to submit a bug report regarding Flash Professional CS6 and CS5 on Adobe's official bug reporting page:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
I've made three attempts in the past 4 days, and each one has been returned to me as "undeliverable":
Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists:
    [email protected]
The recipient's e-mail address was not found in the recipient's e-mail system...
I've successfully submitted reports regarding Fireworks and Dreamweaver, so the error is not on my end. Does anyone know what's going on here?
As there is no "Flash Professional" option in the list of product names, I've been choosing "Flash Authoring", which I've seen mentioned elsewhere as a suitable choice for general issues with Flash Professional.

Originally, I posted this in the Flash Pro forum... but after a day, I moved it here as I had received no response and it's not a Flash product question, per se. (Also, I'd noticed that the top participants on that forum were all Community Members, whereas this forum includes an Adobe Employee as its top participant and features a number of employee/admin responses.)
I'm not aware of how to reach out to the Flash product managers... Any advice on that subject would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • IMAP mail problems -- is someone fixing this?

    Hi
I've seen a ton of questions the last day on imap mail problems. I am experiencing the same on my gmail account; it's kicking out a message that my password is incorrect.
I get the password is incorrect at imap.gmail.com; have logged out of gmail on the Mac, logged back in, checked that imap is enabled, 17-tuple checked the password, etc.
Seems a lot of folks have this problem on various providers...is this an Apple problem, and are they doing anything about it?
    Thanks

I know this from experience and general knowledge.
If your account's password is rejected with an email client on your computer and with your iPhone, how do you figure this has anything to do with Apple?
AOL reported problems today with AOL account access via IMAP with an email client only. Webmail access with a browser was not affected. This was an AOL server problem which had nothing to do with Apple or with Microsoft for those with a PC who couldn't access their AOL account being accessed as an IMAP account with an email client on their PC either.
Have you contacted Google or Gmail customer or technical support?

  • Filing Bug Reports With Apple?

I SWEAR Apple is getting more and more like Microsoft.
Can some one PLEASE tell me how to file a BUG REPORT to Apple on the 10.5.3 update? I am getting graphic driver problems again like they were on 10.5.0 and 10.5.1.
Contacting Apple with a direct bug report seems near impossible and the website is of little help in finding this information. I am outside of Apple Care support.
10.5.3 graphic drivers are broken again on a "Dual 2HHz Power PC G5" with the following Graphics Card:
    GeForce FX 5200:
    Chipset Model: GeForce FX 5200
    Type: Display
    Bus: AGP
    Slot: SLOT-1
    VRAM (Total): 64 MB
    Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)
    Device ID: 0x0321
    Revision ID: 0x00a2
    ROM Revision: 2060
Bringing up the Save Dialog for e-mail attachments for Apple Mail 3.3 (924) cause the background to totally go wacko but it is restored when the save dialog disappears.

  • Mail Bug - iOS 5.0.1 / iPhone 4

Hi everyone - Just noticed something weird; setup a new Samsung Galaxy S2 for a co worker, and we iPhone users cannot reply to her emails, the app crashes.
I think I've narrowed it down to the signature created by her phone on emails.
Let's say I send her an email, she responds back, at the bottom her phone puts the following line in the bottom of the email:
Sent from my Samsung smartphone on AT&T
I get her email, I hit reply, I type the message, hit send, and mail immediately crashes/exits
Go back in, the message never sent, never shows replied, etc.
If she deletes the "Sent from my Samsung smartphone on AT&T" I can reply to the email just fine, no crashes etc.
The email itself when viewed from a client has nothing weird to it; there's no icons/attachments/etc.. literally just the plain text that says it was sent from a Samsung phone.
I tried calling apple to talk to someone, maybe submit a bug report, but my phone is over 90 days old and apparently it costs $30 to let them know there's an issue. Happens on multiple iPhones, including a brand new 4S.
Has anyone else had this issue before?
Obviously I can just edit out the signature in her settings, but it's extremely weird.

You can submit the feedback to Apple here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback
