TEMP datafiles for temporary tablespaces don't have same timestamp

Hi,
This is what I have done:
Installing 10G2 on XP PRO with sample database.
Tried to install Designer Repository with the Wizard, created a user for the toolkit, that failed.
Added 1 temp tablespace size 20Meg from OEM console.
Dropped cascade Toolkit schema owner and recreated it
Tried to install Designer Repository, that failed again
Added 1 temp tablespace size 1giga from OEM console, failed again to import
Dropped cascade Toolkit schema owner and recreated it
Tried to install Designer Repository, that failed again
Gave up for now: I have located a doc about installing manually by running scripts, will do as soon as I feel at ease with OEM.
Then I put the PC on snooze while database was up, crashed it.
Stopped the services, checked the logs, restarted manually and slowly, base up.
Now both extra TEMP datafiles are lagging behind, seen from Windows explorer, but the tablespaces are seen as online from oem, not seen from sqlplus dba_tablespaces view.
So the question is:
Are the TEMP datafiles supposed to stay in sync with the others or is it ok if they show timestamps dating three days back, provided there has not been any users transactions in the database?
I checked the 10G2 DBA online doc, but I can't find where it's mentioned.

I'm a bit wary about resizing anything, maybe you remember the resizing bug for SYSTEM tablespace in version 7?
I have to beef up on DBA tricks.
Since I also have a 1 Giga Users tablespace, I'll do some heavy Inserting and Updating and Sorting see if that tickles the Temps.

The query output from v$tablespace shows the INCLUDED_IN_DATABASE_BACKUP value for temp tablespace in my db is "YES". The only way to have the value "NO" is to configure rman to exclude tbs. But you can not exclude temporary tablespace. Based on the size of total full backup files, the temp tablespace does not seem to be backup by rman. Is this a bug or is there other way to set this value for temporary tablespace to "NO"? I'm using 9iR2. Thanks.

RMAN doesn't include the temporary tablespace in the backups.

Script for temporary tablespace in 8.1.7.4.0

Hi,
I am working in oracle 8.1.7.4.0 and HP-UX os.I need a shell script which is to do the following tasks,
1. create a new temporary tablespace
2.assign the new temp tablespace to the database user level
3.drop the old temp tablespace
4. then create a temp tablespace with the old name
5. then assign the new temp tablespace to the database user level
6.drop the new temp tablespace
Kindly provide me the script for oracle 8.1.7.4.0

You don't need to install the older version, you only need the serial number from your original purchase. If you don't have them to hand, did you register? If so, they should be in your Adobe account. If not you really need to contact Adobe, though it isn't clear they will be able to do anything without some proof of purchase etc.

App Store sends updates for Apps I don't have.

App Store keeps offering me updates for Apps I don't have installed on my iMac.
e.g. Angry Birds.
If I click to Update I get a message "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID".
How do I remove the update and prevent further updates being offered?

Thank you for this information. I deleted a rogue App and it has solved the phantom updates appearing. However now App Store now seems to hang with the "circle of death" checking for updates. Could this be related to another topic I have raised:

When connecting iTunes with an iPad or iPhone, the Apps page no longer lists the Apps installed on the device. It does however show all of the installed Apps in the screen facsimiles on the right hand side of the page. The Apps count top right of the page is also correct.
Could it be that both are trying to reach the App Store server?
Internet connectivity is fine for other applications on the same iMac and for all devices I have connected to the internet via WiFi.

I have a 27 in. iMac with the latest version of Snow Leopard. When Lion comes out, will it be software I purchase and download online? I am trying to prepare for cost and don't have a point of reference, having been a Windows guy until last summer.

I want to know what to expect in terms of moving from one OS to another. Having been a Windows guy until last summer, my only experience is going from one version of Windows to another, which is usually a fairly costly purchase. I will want to go to Lion, but as a retired teacher, my income is fixed. I am not looking for a specific price, I am sure that is unknown, but I would just like to know help Apple does these things so I won't be sadly surprised.

Historically Apple has sold OS X upgrades via DVD media however with the advent of the Mac Apple Store that throws another possibility into the mix. That's about as much as I can say as these forums don't allow us to speculate about future products. As for the cost historically Apple has priced OS X upgrades between $29-$129, the last upgrade (Snow Leopard) was only $29 but that was an exception. Again we cannot speculate on these forums about that. The good news is that Apple is unlike Microsoft which makes OS upgrades expensive and complicated. The choice with OS X is do you want a server version (most users don't need one) or a single computer license. The users that buy server versions tend to have a number of Macs they manage from a server, most consumers don't have this issue.

Upgrades on OS X are usually very simple. I've upgraded from Tiger to Leopard to Snow Leopard and each transition has been very easy. With any major OS upgrade there are some basic rules to follow, for example always, always, always backup prior to any update. When Lion is released to the general public post again for what to do to prepare or even do a Google search on "How to prepare for OS X upgrade" and you will find a number of articles that will provide some suggestions and valuable insight. Drivers for printers I don't have

I seem to be having a different problem than most. My printer works fine and has the current driver. Unfortunately I also have about a dozen drivers installed on my computer for printers I don't own and never have. I can manually uninstall all the drivers and they return the next time I plug in my printer. This wouldn't be an issue except at start up my computer spends an inordinate amount of time updating drivers for machines it never finds. Then, about once a day, I get one of those irritating warranty update notices for a printer I don't have. Each one has a different expiration date too.

That is just plain odd.
I am inferring from what you say that you are indeed uninstalling the unwanted printer software programs you do not want from Programs and Features, yes?
Some ideas...
Create a Restore Point:
Restore Point XP OR Create a Restore Point – Win7 OR Create a restore point Win8
Next:
If you have not already done so:
Control Panel > set icon view > Programs and Features >
Scroll down, find the Printer program(s) you do not want > Right-Click on the program > Uninstall
Next:
See the following:
Pop-up Messages – HP UPdates
Set it the Updates to Notify and then >> Switch off the Updates, that is, set the timeframe to "Never".
Be sure you Restart / Reboot the system after the changes...

And, if still no joy...clear the device manager and then reinstall the printer software.
If you are using a Notebook:
Close all your programs and shut down the computer
Disconnect everything (little Unifier for the keyboard / external mouse can stay)
Perform the Hard Reset for your notebook model
Boot the computer and log in
ELSE, if you are using a Desktop computer:
Close all your programs and shut down the computer
Disconnect USB drives, speakers, other unnecessary devices
Unplug the computer for thirty seconds
Connect the power (plug in)
Reconnect devices
Start / Boot the computer and log in
Reminder: This Hard Reset is just a device Reset. The procedure does not wipe out your files nor does it destroy your Windows setup in any way. This type of reset "clears the cobwebs". Depending on the root cause of the problem, this procedure can fix a variety of computer glitches.
Next:
You might reinstall the main printer software, that is, install the Full Feature Software for the printer that you DO have:

Submitting photos for artists that don't have one

I love Spotify for including not only the commercially succesful music but recordings of ALL type.
However, many times some of the unfamous artists don't have photos or bios. It would be great if users could submit these and if appropriate to update the artists' information. Perhaps it would be best if the photos and bios reach the representatives of the artists.

Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.

You find a computer with iTunes on it, plug your phone in and restore it. it's in recovery mode. you don't have a choice.

Error messages for HP printer drivers for printers I don't have

I keep getting error messages that say "HP Color LaserJet 3600 doesn't have a driver" and "HP LaserJet 4000 Series doesn't have a driver" but I don't have either of these HP models and I don't think I ever did. I tried to skip the message but it keeps coming back. Any ideas? Do I completely unload all my HP software and reload it?

Files don't have same share setting as folder

I have turned sharing on for my Pictures folder. However, lately I've noticed that some of the pictures underneath the Picture folder don't have the same share settings as the folder that contains them. I know I could probably go in and manually adjust all the share settings for each file, but that would be a huge hassle.
I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue?

Didn't realize you could drag photos over from another library. Looks like that will work for now. It was nice to be able to drag a whole folder over that way all the photos came in as separate events. The other nice thing was the fact that I didn't have to have iPhoto open on both computers to be able to move photos. Thanks for the help!
