When modifying the system registry as previously mentioned, you will need to expand the ProfileList in the left column to show the sub-folders to find any .bak folders. If a .bak folder is there, continue to follow the previously mentioned procedure by Zohaib.
Should there not be a .bak folder, another possible solution is to create a new user profile.
To create a new user profile, you must first create a new user account. When the account is created, a profile is also created.
After you create the profile, you can copy the files from the existing profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to complete these steps, including the new account you just created.
1.  Log on as a user other than the new user you just created or the user that you want to copy files from.
2.  Open the My Documents folder by clicking the Start button, and then clicking
Computer. Double-click the hard disk drive that Windows is installed on (it's usually your C: drive), double-click
Users, double-click the folder with the name of your account, and then double-click
My Documents.
3.  Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
If you don't see the Tools
menu, press Alt.
4.  Click the View tab, and then click Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
5.  Clear the Hide protected operating system files check box, click
Yes to confirm, and then click OK.
6.  Locate the C:\Users\Old_Username folder, where C is the drive that Windows is installed on, and Old_Username is the name of the profile you want to copy files from.
7.  Select all of the files and folders in this folder, except the following files:
- Ntuser.dat
- Ntuser.dat.log
- Ntuser.ini
8.  Click the Edit menu, and then click Copy.
If you don't see the Edit menu, press Alt.
9.  Locate the C:\Users\New_Username folder, where C is the drive that Windows is installed on, and New_Username is the name of the new user profile you created.
10.  Click the Edit menu, and then click Paste.
If you don't see the Edit menu, press Alt.
11.  Log off, and then log back on as the new user.
If you have e‑mail messages in an e‑mail program, you must import your e‑mail messages and addresses to the new user profile before you delete the old profile. If everything is working properly, you can delete the old profile.

  • Users Logged in with Temp Profile on Windows 7

    Last year, my company started to experience a strange correlation with the number of Windows 7 computers deployed and the number Help Desk calls regarding Temp Profile Logins. I did open a ticket with Microsoft Support, but had to prematurely put it on hold
    due to other projects.
    From my work with Microsoft, we performed ETL logging, documented Handle Output, ran Procmon, and collected MSDT data. While not always successfully documented, Microsoft started to point out the possibility a process in the background was timing out. When
    timed out, users became logged in as a TEMP user, thus limiting access to network drives and other domain resources.
    The company I work for is part of a larger enterprise and other divisions do not experience this issue. This is solely my companies issue and only came to the forefront after we performed a large migration to Windows 7.
    Other forums have provided me and my team with the means of fixing the TEMP profile login, after it occurs. We go into REGEDIT and modify the ProfileList and edit the necessary .BAK key. Either way, this corrects the issue, but does not prevent it from occurring
    again.
    I guess my questions is; where can I look to trouble shoot this better? I can't rely on Microsoft analyzing my records and trying to deduce what is occurring. I want to get more information and find a resolution. Thank you all in advance.

    No, we do not use roaming profiles in our environment. Local user profiles are used for every computer, regardless of purpose/role in the organization. Good question, though. Thank you.
    Hi,
    I would like you to confirm following question with me:
    1. are your computers in a domain?
    2. What do you mean about the local user profile, the personal user? If it's a domain environment, does this issue happen on domain user account?
    3. How did you migrate your user profiles during migrating to Windows 7?
    Considering if the local user profile is corrupted, and the regedit fix cannot fix your issue completely.
    Please create a new user account on the problematic computer and test for a while to see if the issue still persists.
    If not, we may need to repair the corrupted user profiles.
    If the issue still persists, considering the system issue.
    Please help to collect the logon trace and post back for our research.
    1. Logon as an Administrator of the computer you want to trace (either a local Administrator or Domain Admin account that is a member of the local machine's Administrators group).
    2. Open an elevated command prompt and run this command from WPT Install directory (default path is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Performance Toolkit.
    Install WPT from this link:http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsserver/bb980924.aspx
    xperf -on base+latency+dispatcher+NetworkTrace+Registry+FileIO -stackWalk CSwitch+ReadyThread+ThreadCreate+Profile -BufferSize 128 -start UserTrace -on "Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Core+Microsoft-Windows-Wininit+Microsoft-Windows-Folder

    Note: This syntax works on Windows Vista (Windows Server 2008) and Windows 7 (Windows Server 2008 R2) computers
    3. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and then Switch User.
    4. Logon with the user account experiencing the temp user logon to reproduce the issue.
    5. Stop the trace. While logged on with the slow user account, open an elevated CMD prompt and type:
    xperf -stop -stop UserTrace -d merged.etl
    6. upload the merged.etl file into Onedrive or similar file sharing service, and post back the shared link here.

    2. When we check the user profile, the type and status shows backup.
    3. Deleted the profile and re-login, it doesn’t create a new profile and uses temp profile instead.
    4. Current other domain users, for example administrator work fine.
    5. If using any new domain user to login, it doesn’t create a new profile and it uses temp profile always.

    Hi,
    There may be two similar GUIDS found for the problematic user, one for the temp profile and one for the regular profile but with the ".bak" extension.
    I suggest you removed .bak from sid to check the result.

  • 8.1 Pro TEMP profile

    I have a new 8.1 Pro machine that I configure a local profile because we don't want to use Microsoft Accounts.  Once created, I add the computer to the domain but when I log on after the reboot with network credentials, it uses a TEMP profile.
    Everything I've read leads me to believe that a Microsoft account is mandatory to access the domain credentials.  Is this in fact the case or is there another way to configure the machine?

    Hi,
    This problem usually occurs if the user profile of the account was accidentally corrupted or deleted from the system.
    Meanwhile,as Saurabh.k said ,Microsoft Account is not mandatory.
    To fix this issue,we need to use another administrator account to sign in to,or use built-in Administrator account.
    I suggest you refer to the following article to fix this issue:

  • Multiple Session Connections, Manual Load Balance due to temp profiles

    Setup:
    DC: "2012 r2 St"
    TS1: RD gateway, session host 1, user security group 1 "2012 r2 St"
    TS2, session host for user security group 2 "2012 r2 St"
    Collection 1 > session host 1 for user security group 1
    Collection 2> session host 2 for user security group 2
    Issues/Goal:
    I would like to load balance the 2 hosts so some users log on to one server the others the other server, we originally had one collection with 2 session hosts in there running at 80/20 load balance.
    This caused major issues with user profile disks logging onto a temporary profile every time they logged onto the second server, seems to be a bug in the software has many users are having this issue and it doesn’t seem to be resolved yet so we decided to
    do a manual loads balance where half of the users are ts1 and the rest to ts2.
    I created 2 collections with separate security groups, the problem is when I connect to “remote desktop” rdgateway.domaniname.com.au only the ts1 secuirty group users can log in, it doesn't automatically point the users at the correct server (ts2).
    If I manually remote desktop to ts2 it lets me log is as a user from that security group.
    I would like to the gateway to automatically point my users to the correct session server/collection based on the security group they are in. Can someone tell me what is going wrong here?
    If i browse to the rdweb.xxx.xx and log in as a user from TS2 group it only shows the correct ts2 and lets me log in, its just remote desktop app that has the issue.

    how have you setup user profiles? user profile redirection or UPD? if you have a server outside of your TS farm acting as a file server to serve the profiles and your GPOs are setup correctly and are actually being applied correctly, you shouldn't see temp
    profile issues
    what you are doing now seems like a huge overhead and sort of defeats the purpose of having a connection broker when you're not taking advantage of load distribution

  • Login issue in OIM11g due to oim credsmap error

    We have OIM 11gR2PS1 installed on unix box. We have AD connector 11.1.1.5.0 installed on it .Also,peoplesoft recon connector PSFT_ER-11.1.1.5.0 is installed
    In our scenario,we have webservice code in which using recon event we are creating users in OIM environment
    This is hosted on same OIM server unix box.Inside webservice code we have refred oimclient.jar file to work with OIM APIs and Recon Service class.
    When i tested webservice for first time it was unable to load OIM API classes as it was unable to find oimclient.jar in classpath.
    So to resolve this issue i kept oimclient.jar in location- "WL_HOME/server/lib/"  and also added following entry in setDomainEnv.sh to load oimclient.jar explicitly in classpath
    CLASSPATH="WL_HOME/server/lib/oimclient.jar:${CLASSPATH}"
    export CLASSPATH
    and made entry in system-jazn-data.xml present in DOMAIN_HOME//config/fmwconfig/ as :
    <grant>
                <grantee>
                    <codesource>
                        <url>file:${domain.home}/servers/oim_server1/stage/*</url>
                    </codesource>
                </grantee>
                <permissions>
       <permission>
                   <class>oracle.security.jps.service.credstore.CredentialAccessPermission</class>
                         <name>context=SYSTEM,mapName=oim,keyName=*</name>
                         <actions>read,write</actions>
        </permission>
                </permissions>
            </grant>
    After this change, webservice was working as expected and OIM related things were working fine.
    But,when we tried to run schedule task "Active Directory Group Lookup Recon" for AD, we are getting error message as :
    java.lang.LinkageError: loader constraint violation: loader (instance of com/thortech/xl/dataobj/tcADPClassLoader) previously initiated loading for a different type with name "com/thortech/xl/dataaccess/tcDataProvider"
    So,to resolve this AD schedule task issue,we rolled back changes made for webservice in setDomainEnv.sh and system-jazn-data.xml file
    and removed explicit classpath entry line of oimclient.jar from  setDomainEnv.sh
    But after restrating all admin and managed servers,we are currently facing issue in logging into OIM idenity/syadmin or design console with xelsyadm credentials
    we have never made any changes of password for xelsyadm account or not made any change in any authenticatorproviders in weblogic console
    we tried everything form reverting all changes to original setup without webservice or peoplesoft listener implementation
    removed all explicit classpath entries or grant entry for oim credsmap from system-jazn-data.xml.
    But still same issue persists
    Any helpful suggestion is appreciated on this ASAP.

    Hi All,
    I have tried out option of adding authwl.conf in java argument as mentioned. But,still same issue persists. I think it will be same whether we refer authwl.conf file from OIM_ORACLE_HOME/server/config or OIM_ORACLE_HOME/designconsole/config/ location.
    We havent made any changes in USR table for xelsysadm user
    Even system-jazn-data.xml is intact.
    Actually,when i removed following classpath entry from setDomainEnv.sh file
    CLASSPATH="WL_HOME/server/lib/oimclient.jar:${CLASSPATH}"
    export CLASSPATH
    Its working fine and i am not facing any login issue in OIM console.Also the Active Directory connector scheduled task are running fine without giving earlier error whic is becaus of explicit classpath addition in setDomainEnv.sh.This error was
    java.lang.LinkageError: loader constraint violation: loader (instance of com/thortech/xl/dataobj/tcADPClassLoader) previously initiated loading for a different type with name "com/thortech/xl/dataaccess/tcDataProvider" .
    This error was arising since i have explicitly mentioned oimclient.jar again in classpath and as OIM server also will load it at OIM server startup time. So it was finding two instance of tcDataProvider and was not able to decide to refer to which one of them.
    But, I have to refer oimclient.jar in my webservice code to work.If we dont add classpath entry explicitly for oimclient.jar then it will throw error..that it is unable to load OIMClient class.
    Webservice is deployed in OIM serveer . Is there any other way by which i can refer oimclient class in webservice code without causing this classpath conflict issue. ?
    Also.is it correctthat for first time when we load Classpath explicitly like i did in my scenario,then it will always try to refer same classpath for that jar always.
    For ex: in my env i made changes in setDomainEnv.sh and modifed classpath enrty as :
    CLASSPATH="${OIM_ORACLE_HOME}/server/client/oimclient.jar:${CLASSPATH}"
    export CLASSPATH
    but this time it will start throwin the exception as :
    <Nov 11, 2013 11:24:24 PM EST> <Error> <XELLERATE.ACCOUNTMANAGEMENT> <BEA-000000> <Class/Method: tcDefaultDBEncryptionImpl/initKeyStore encounter some problems: access denied ("oracle.security.jps.service.credstore.CredentialAccessPermission" "context=SYSTEM,mapName=oim,keyName=.xldatabasekey" "read")
    java.security.AccessControlException: access denied ("oracle.security.jps.service.credstore.CredentialAccessPermission" "context=SYSTEM,mapName=oim,keyName=.xldatabasekey" "read")
    Do i need to reinstall OIM setup to resolve this issue or is there any other way to refer oimclient.jar in my webservice code deployed in OIM env ?
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    RPB

  • Worksapce login issue

    Hi
    I have installed Hyperion, and i think all is ok. All services are running.
    My Hyperion is installed in:
    Windows 2003 SP2
    Oracle 11g
    But when I run EPM System diagnostic I get a problem with login in the Workspace service/login.
    This is the message that I get:
    FAILED      SSO      Availability of login http://norhyperion:45000/workspace/browse/configInfo
    Error: Could not login to workspace
    Recommended Action: Check if all services run. Check user name and password
    If I try to login to workspace in the page http://norhyperion:45000/workspace/browse/configInfo, I cannot login with the user(admin/password).
    I try to login in the shared services page with this user, and all is working.
    Any ideas what went wrong in my installation?
    Thank You
    NomrHyperion

    Hi Norm,
    This what I did when I had this issue.
    First check if process manager and Workspace Agents are running. If you cant start process manager, or workspace agents, try to check the Listener and Oracle DB(if you are using Oracle) services if are running, if not started. If you still cant run the services, or have login issue, then you must reconfigure the Workspace and
    Run EPM System Configurator
    First reconfigure:
    Hyperion Foundation
    - Common Settings
    - Configure Database
    - Deploy Application Server
    When this reconfiguration finish, run EPM System Configurator again, and reconfigure the rest of Workspace and Management Architect.
    In my case I reconfigure:
    Calculation Manager
    Performance Management Architect
    Workspace
    After this I restart the server.
    Then back to the first check again... check if Process Manager and Workspace Agents are running. If not:
    Check the Listener and Oracle DB(if you are using Oracle) services if are running, if not started
    Then try to start the Process Manager service(you can also try to start the Workspace agents in the menu. Windows -> Start Menu -> Oracle EPM System -> Workspace - > Start Workspace Agent Services
    Try all this, then start the EPM System Diagnostic again and check if all services are ok(some times Essbase Studio is not started, start it on the menu -> Essbase Studio - Start server).
    This is what I did to fix my problem, and fix all the problems Now all services and EPM are running.
    Hope this can help you

  • Temp Profile Problem. Windows 7, Domain

    I have about 50 machines on domain with Windows 7 32bit OS.  We are having a problem with windows not grabbing our default profile for three of our users and instead giving them a Temp Profile every time they log into the domain.  One is a normal
    user account and two are admin.  All other users can log onto any computer at anytime and they do not get the temp profile.  The three accounts get the temp profile no matter which computer on the domain they choose to log in to.  Any ideas?

    Creating a default local profile for Windows 7
    Create a new standard local user account (named STDPROFILE), add this account to the local Administrators group on the PC.
    Reboot, then log onto the PC using the local user account from previous Step.
    Set up profile settings as desired; desktop icons, mapped printers, FRVIS physical/logical, IE home page, etc..
    Reboot when finished, log back onto PC with the local “Administrator” account.
    Double-click “Computer”, then click organize, folder and search options. On the view tab, make sure “show hidden files, folders and drives” is selected; also uncheck “Hide protected Operating System Files”. Click OK
    Under C:/Users, rename the hidden “Default” user folder (NOT “Default User”)
    Make copy of the profile (STDPROFILE) customized in Step 2, rename the folder “Default”.
    Right click the folder—under properties, then security tab—add “Everyone” permissions with Full Control (include all folders and subfolders).
    Run regedit.exe
    Click on HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE. Under File, select “Load Hive”
    Browse to the “C:/Users/Default” folder, click on ntuser.dat (make sure hidden and system files are displayed). Name the key TEMPLATE_ACCOUNT.
    Right click on the TEMPLATE_ACCOUNT key, select Export, save the .reg file to the desktop.
    Open the .reg file with Notepad, and under “Edit—replace..” put the user name STDPROFILE in the “Find what” field, to be replace with the string %USERNAME% -- choose “Replace All” then save the .reg file. Double click it to re import the changes.
    Re-open regedit.exe
    Under TEMPLATE_ACCOUNT – Control Panel – desktop, change “Wallpaper” path to the wallpaper of your choice (a local OR network path will work here). Check other settings and modify any other keys.
    If RealPlayer is installed to the image—click on TEMPLATE_ACCOUNT—SOFTWARE—Realnetworks. Delete the entire RealNetworks Key. This key will recreate.
    When done, click on TEMPLATE_ACCOUNT. Then click File, select “unload hive”. This will save the changes you made.

    Hi All,
    We are getting login issue on our UAT server. AD users are not able to login into share point,it again prompting login box after entering correct username and password.
    When we add that user to local admin group then it works.

    May be you are try it on same sharepoint machine. If you try some other machine it will work fine. You need to create a registry key for that. This is a known issue with sharepoint

  • Login Issues: Win7, Skype 6.14

    Hi
    I've had login issues since just after I accepted a windows update last night. (no idea if that's just a coincidence?)
    I've read thru several other posts here, tried re-installing skype several times (also re-installed an older version), checked compatability mode and still no joy. oh, I rebooted a few times too.
    I'm trying to login using my skype username and password (I don't have a ms account) but the screen is just stuck there, it says signing in and the whirly thing (techy term lol) is just whirling round and round.
    I luuuurv my skype, absolutely essential for me as I work from home, so I hope someone can help. Pleeeease
    thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    ah, surprise, still no joy.
    downloaded trillian too but that won't let me create an acount and just supplies error messages with no explanation to enable me to correct whatever the (well hidden) error is.
    just think, i could be working in a cubicle instead of this high stress work from home life!
    if skype access is my biggest stress i'm pretty sure I'm still happy doing what i do lol
    added bonus - i'm often on the phone 3-4 hours a day so with no skype it's got very quiet here lol
    (can ya tell i'm bored though with no one on skype to talk to? lol)
