Template Builder - BIPublisherDesktop.exe issue

Hi,
I am using BIP 10.1.3.3 version. BI Publisher is running fine.
I installed template builder by executing BIPublisherDesktop.exe. Installation completes without error/warnings. I am able to run old reports from MS word (using preview).
My problem is when I double click on the field on the word page, it is throwing error - "ActiveX component can't create object" "Runtime error '429'".. and progress bar of "Starting .NET runtime" is appearing on the word page... I am not able to edit the field.. I can drag the field from insert fields option.. but cant edit..
I tried reinstalling BI Publisher and desktop.. but the problem is not solved.... everything is running fine except editing the field...
Strange.. it was running fine till yesterday... today morning I uninstalled framework 1.1 and some other application.. is it the problem???
Please suggest me something, how can I get rid of this...

Template Builder (BIPublisherDesktop.exe) installation for multiple users

Hello,
I tried to install version 10.1.3.4 of the template builder on a Citrix server (Metaframe 4.0) running under Windows 2003 SP2, and with Office 2003. Framework .NET 2.0 and JRE Sun 1.6 are also installed.
It works, but, in Word 2003, the "Oracle BI Publisher" menu is only available for the user who have made the installation. Other users can"t see it ?
I have monitored the registry during installation, and most of the keys are created in HKEY_CURRENT_USER, explaining why others can't see it.
Is there a way to make one install available for all users ?

Issue with Template Builder

Hello All,
I am having issue with template builder after loading the XML data when trying to insert a field I am getting the following error
Run-Time error '6';
Over flow
Where as my collegue is not getting the error. The differnce what I observe is In menu options
for me it is showing as
tempalte builder-->Insert-->Table/form
where as for him it is showing as
tempalte builder-->Insert-->Table/form ->Wizard (some thing like this)
Is this the version differnce? please let me know

Header & Footer issues with Template Builder 5.6 ???

Is anyone else having problems with headers and footers in Template Builder version 5.6? I am able to add headers and footers, but they don't display in the preview in Word and they also only display on odd pages when ran thru the concurrent request manager (I checked my Word page setup settings and I don't have the deifferent odd/even pages selected.) I am able to resolve my problem by installing v 5.5 on another machine and saving it in that version.

We use headers and footers in every template. This worked in both 4.5 and 5.6.2.

Installing BIPublisherDesktop.exe OBIEE 10.1.3.3.1

Trying to run BIPublisherDesktop.exe on latest version on OBIEE (10.1.3.3.1) and getting Java Runtime Environment not installed error.
C:\Program Files\OracleBI>java -version
java version "1.5.0_12"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_12-b04)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_12-b04, mixed mode)As you can see 1.5.0_12 is installed - anyone come across the same issue, and have a resolution?

It explain how to find the problem with WMIDiag.
And if you don't find, deinstall all software that you don't need. This problem is often caused by a software of the manufacturer (Dell, Ibm, ...)

Dynamic image does not work in the template builder plug-in (Apex-BI Intgr)

Hi all, I posted this problem in the BI Publisher topic but nobody responded maybe this is because mods thought this is an Apex-BI integration issue.
If I'm in the wrong place, please do warn me.
The documentation says:
Direct Insertion
Insert the jpg, gif, or png image directly in your template.
...This works obviously
URL Reference
1. Insert a dummy image in your template.
2. In Microsoft Word's Format Picture dialog box select the Web tab. Enter the following syntax in the Alternative text region to reference the image URL:
url:{'http://image location'}
For example, enter: url:{'http://www.oracle.com/images/ora_log.gif'}
...This works too when I hardcode an url as url:{'http://www.google.com.tr/images/firefox/mobiledownload.png'}
Element Reference from XML File
1. Insert a dummy image in your template.

I use Apex' report query tool and My query is like
select 'http://www.google.com.tr/images/firefox/mobiledownload.png' IMAGE_LOCATION from ... (a single result set for my template)
the xml data is generated with an IMAGE_LOCATION tag. I load it to word template plug-in. The Url successfully displays in the report if I make it a plain-simple field.
But when it's in the image format->web->alt text as url:{IMAGE_LOCATION} no image displayed.
I need to keep this design procedure simple so a simple word user could design a report via using just template builder plug-in. I don't wish to explore the xsl-fo area...yet.
Could you tell me why I can't get this url:{IMAGE_LOCATION} to work?

when you see the URL corrently as long as you have it as a plain text field, the XML tag and the
referencing seem to be OK.
Here are two thought - the issue might be one of these ...
How did you insert the dummy image into the word document - did you do it via "insert" or
via "link to file". "Link to File" does not work - you must choose the simple "insert".
Another one: Does your BI Server have a connection to the internet - is the proxy server correctly set ..?

Error while Opening the report from template builder

hi all,
After log in in the BI publisher template builder, tried to Open the report from the report Template . Then the message is displayed as Error occurred: ‘Please check the settings and try again’.
I am using the OBIEE 10.1.3.3 version and Ms-Office 2000......

the error is "No matching records found 'Queries' (OUQR) (ODBC -2028) [Message 131-183]"
I have previewed the report using Preview external crystal report option and is running perfect.

Labview crashing when building application (exe)

Hi,
I am trying to build an application from a simple labview (2011) vi. All the vi does is sets (boolean = TRUE) a line on the digital output card (NI 9472) when I start running the vi. The program works fine after I have coded it. But when I try to build an exe file (application) of that project, then labview crashes in the build process. Is this a known issue? please help. I am attaching my vi alongwith this email

I'm sorry to hear that gascars. I have downloaded your project and VI and have succesfully built an executable in both LabVIEW 2011 and LabVIEW 2012. Can you please send me a screenshot of the error you are receiving? Also, can you make a simple VI that just adds two numbers and see if that can be made into an .exe.

BI Publisher Template Builder - Can't add/edit chart

Hi all,
I am trying to edit a BIP template using the template builder.
I can log on successfully using the Oracle BI Publisher / Log In option in the menu bar and I am able to choose the template I want to edit.
Once I open the template, I try to edit one existent chart (right click on the chart / BI Publisher chart) and a chart window appears.
The problem that I am facing is that I can't apply the new layout properties to the chart cause both the OK and PREVIEW buttons are disabled.
I know I am probably missing some step but I don't really know which cause I am enew with BIP.
The strange thing is that I can modify successfully the existent tables or even create new ones, but I can't add/edit new charts.
I am using MS Word 2007 (I have tried with 2000 also in another laptop) with the template builder 10.1.3.4.1 version.

Hi Giovanni,
I had the same issue and struggled with it a few hours, but the solution is very simple. Here are some directions for fixing this issue.
1. In the Layout section there are three options to configure: Values, Aggregation and Labels.
2. Make sure you add the fields to the Values option, select aggregation if it applies for your chart.
3. Add the field to the Labels section, then you will enable the preview and OK buttons.

Template builder & shared lib (10.2)

i am creating a domain template from a portal domain using Template Builder.
The resulting config.xml file stored in the jar file is not correct regarding some libs used by Weblogic Portal. Therefor, when i create a domain from this template, these libs are not found !

The correct source-path for each lib should be starting by $USER_INSTALL_DIR$ instead of $APPLICATIONS_DIRECTORY$

I believe this is a known issue with the template builder of Weblogic portal.
And the suggested workaround for this is to change it manually from the *$APPLICATIONS_DIRECTORY$* to *$USER_INSTALL_DIR$*

BIPublisher Template Builder Error: System Error &H80040111 (-21472211231)

Hi,
I have installed BIPublisher Desktop 10.1.3.4.2 on my Windows XP SP3 machine and i can see Template Builder Add-In added to MS Word. But, When ever i try to access Template builder menu, word is displaying the following error and i can't do anything.
"*System Error &H80040111 (-21472211231) Cannot Supply Requested Class Factory" (On header it says, Microsoft Visual Basic)..*
I had same installation (BIP 10.1.3.4.2 on Windows XP SP3 system) at my earlier client and no issues there. In both cases i have Microsoft Office 2007. I tried BIPublisher 11.1.1.5 Desktop too but same error. Can any one suggest any thing?. We tried re-installing MS Office but no luck. I found couple of posts on Microsoft support website but nothing helped.

AT LAST IT WORKED...
We installed Office 2010 by keeping Office 2007 (you can do this by creating new installation folder for new office). Then we were able to get rid of this error using Word 2007. Looks like our office 2007 installation is missing few Visual Basic libraries which were fulfilled with Office 2010 installation. WHich may be strange as the office copy we have is our client copy (federal Govt). Luckily my client maintains both office 2007 and 2010. For those who doesn't have Office 2010, i am not sure what you can do but sorry.

9157292 - PASSWORD FOR ANALYZER FOR EXCEL
Because of bug 9283891 (found on this forum - thanks) I would recommend everyone
to download the patch.

what about 9157292 - PASSWORD FOR ANALYZER FOR EXCEL ? When I try to modify a xdo sheet, adding a macro, system show me a form "AnalyzerExcel password". And i don't know password to insert. Maybe with patch, this form doesn't appear?

Cannot install Template Builder

Hi all,
i had problem on installing the template builder for BI publisher. I have no idea on what im supposed to do with this error because im very new on this application. The error is "Please close MS Word and try again" after selecting the language. I already closed all the applications including MS word. Can anybody help me??

Error trying to download Template Builder

hello, I'm fairly new to BI Publisher and every time I select the "Template Builder", it starts to download, but it never finishes. I continue to receive the error msg "Installation directory is corrupt, could not find uninstaller: XMLPReportingTools4WordSetup.msi!" Could anyone assist with this issue?

Did anyone fix this issue? I am getting the same issue while trying to remove the old version through control panel nor installing BI publisher.

Can't find template builder in Word 07

I'm new to Publisher. I downloaded and installed the Oracle BI Publisher (10.1.3.4.0). It runs fine, I can create my datasources and parameters, etc. just fine. However, I'm not seeing the BI Publisher tab in Word 2007. From within BI Publisher I clicked the Template Builder and downloaded and installed it, but still can't see menu option to start building templates. I searched for TemplateBuilder.dot and can't find that either.
Any ideas?

Se if u use 2007 word,
by default all the macros hass been disabled,
you got to go to options, add-ons and enabled the templatebuilder, there..
then the menu gets enabled in Addons..
