Template for BW Query Technical documentation

hello experts
Can I find any template Docs for Query Technical documentation.
Thanks
SP

Hi,
Sorry to intrude.
Prakash, thanks for the transaction tip.
However, the cell definition generated from the transaction does not seem to fit well as part of documentation, which is quite a waste.
Any good template to document cell definition in a query?
Regards,
Simon

  • Iview template for R3 Query (/nSQ01)

I viewed somewhere an iView that refers to a basic R/3 Query (/SQ01).
Where could I find the template for that iView ?
    Thank you

You talking about R3 Iview based on transaction code: SQ01?
    Procedure:
    Inside Portal,
Step 1. Right click a folder and select New-> Iview.
Step 2. Choose SAP Transaction iView.
Step 3. Give the IVIEW a Title and an Id.
Step 4. Select SAP GUI for Windows.
Step 5. Select System(Alias) and specify SAP Transaction Code.
    Finish and preview..
Prerequisite is the system alias...Your sys admin should define your r3 system as a valid system in portal.

  • How to set default Web Template for BEx Query iViews in Portal?

    Hi,
    1) In SPRO you can set the Standard Web Template used, e.g. ZANALYSIS_PATTERN1.
    2) I published a query to Portal and when it runs within Portal, I want it to use a different web template, say ZANALYSIS_PATTERN2.
I don't want to change the BEx Web Application Query String property for each iView to hardcode the template e.g. to "QUERY=TestQuery1&TEMPLATE=ZANALYSIS_PATTERN2"
I only want the query name in the iView
Can I set this somewhere in Portal?  I tried changing the standard "BEx Web Analyzer" iView as mentioned in
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/33/39fa40ee14f26fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm (BEx Web Application or Query as iView in the Portal)
but it still seems to take the template from SPRO even after restarting J2EE

    Hi,
I don't think anyone is holding back knowledge, I think it's sometimes difficult to filter out "good" questions as opposed to "bad" questions...
In any case, I don't think it's possible to have different default templates, eg one for the portal and one for the "rest". I'm afraid you'll have to either change each one on the portal or use one for all.
    Cheers,
    Dion

(I just published this question in Portal forum but I think it belongs here instead since it is BI Portal - apologies for the double-post..)

D Nore did you found the way to do it ?
I still have the issue, whatever the place where I force the template, the queries on the portal does not use my specific template.
    I tried :
    pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bexwebanalyzer
(this one was working before upgrade to netweaver stack 17).
    as well as
    pcd:portal_content/templates/iviews/sap_bw_report_iview
    and
    pcd:portal_content/templates/iviews/sap_bi7x_report_iview
    none works !
If you have the tricks share it with us.

  • Table to find web templates for a query in BI 7.0

    Hi experts,
I am in BI 7.0. I have a list of queries.
i want to find out names of all the web templates where these queries are used as data provider.
is there any table in from where i can get this information??
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Please check the table "RSZWOBJXREF" which gives Query name and Web template name.
    or
you can check with the help of metadata repository.
    or
the WebTemplate is stored as XML document. This is the XML code which is shown in the Web Application Designer. You need to read throught the XML using the Web Application Designer or using report RS_TEMPLATE_MAINTAIN_70.

  • New browser window for Jump Query

    Hi SAPGuru,
I have main Query with three jumps Query (QA, QB, QC). I created web template with main query and three other web templates for jump query. All are working fine. When I am running main query template and trying to jump from main query to “QA” web template. Its open a new browse window that’s fine. So now I have total two browsers are open. Now when I try to jump from main query to “QB” that web template is showing in the browser window which is shown by “QA”. Means it’s overwrite “QA” query with “QB” query in browser.
I need to open a new browser window when I jump from main query to child query. In short I like to open one browser for main query and three another browsers (QA, QB, QC) to jump query so, I can compare all query with different browser window.
Am I missing something in web template side or IE’s option side?
             Thanks in advance...

Check the RRI_DISPLAY_TARGET property of the web template. make sure you do not have this set to open in the QA window.
    Thanks.

  • PDF or HTML for mobile Technical Documentation and Newsletters

    Hi,
I've been reviewing the pros and cons for PDF and HTML for mobile technical documentation and newsletters and wanted to get your honest thoughts on this.
    Here's the scenario:
I need to create  mobile technical documenation and newsletters that are interactive, i.e. video, commenting/annotating, links, forms, etc.
Given how the mobile publishing market is rapidly evolving, what is the most practical format, (with minimum format issues) to use for both short term and long term?  PDF or HTML?  Why?
Based on your choice, which format would you use for non-interactive documents that offers the most creative options and usability?  Why?
    Paul

Hyper Text Markup Language ( HTML ) is going to work better.  Mainly because the way mobile is setup, the interface has to conform to the device and with the other elements coded into the interface, HTML is far better.  You keep referring to usability, so even in non-interactive scenarios in mobile documentation, you're better off using HTML.

  • Technical documentation for ADF projects - how to and best practices

    Hi,
I have a question how to create technical documentation for ADF project expecialy ADF BC and ADF Faces. Is there any tool or JDev plugin for that purpose? What informations should contains documentation for that project, any principles ?Has anybody any experienece. Are there something like documentation best practices for ADF projects? E.g. how to create documentation for bussiness components.
    Kuba

I'm not sure there is "best practices" but some of the things that can help people understand are:
An ADF BC diagram - this will describe all your ADF BC objects - just drag your components into a new empty diagram
A JSF page flow - to show how pages are called.
Java class diagram - for Java code that is not in the above two
One more thing to consider - since ADF BC, JSF page flow and JSPX pages are all XML based - you could write XSL files that will actually transform them into any type of documentation you want.

  • Template for documenting Java classes

    1. Description about the specific interface functionaliy
    2. Model diagram
    3. Rules... if any used
    4. Configurations done specific to this interface in NWA.
