Template for documents in KM

Hi,
I am using Templates for documents in KM, EP7 SP13. I have activated the Template Service, uploaded the template files, and assigned the templates for a specific folder.
In fact, I am capable to create new files based on the uploaded templates by Folder -> New -> From Template -> <my template>.
So far, everything is working ok.
My problem arises when I want to save the document based on the template, after I modified it. I want to save it in the same folder I created it (I mean, I want overwrite -or update- the document).
But, instead that, I can only save a local copy, that I have to upload after...
Does anyone know why? Did I forget some config step?
Thanks in advance!
Marcelo

Hi Marcelo,
Did you run through all the steps listed in the documentation?

  • Template for document

    Hi all,
What is the best solution in SAP-NetWeaver-KM to create document template.
I need to create an application where user can input their experience according to document template.
    Thanks,
    Franck

    Hi Franck,
yes, you can use the XML Forms builder to achieve your tasks, without creating a new portal application.
You must first create the XML Form in which you can include an attachment picker and afterwards take care that TREX indexes the repository where the users save the new documents.
The How-To Guide should teach you how to work with XML Forms Builder (if you don't know yet). To find it, go to: http://service.sap.com/nw-howtoguides -> "Portal, KM and Collaboration" -> "Creating XML forms"
    Hope this helps,

  • Ask your question. How do I change the template for a pages document

How do I change the template for a pages document?

Once you've opened it, the opened document is no longer a template. Edit it as you would any other Pages document.
If you want to use the edited document as a Template, then , after editing, go File > Save as Template, give the new template a name, and click Save.
The old template will remain available in the location where you found it; the new one will be in the My Templartes sectionof the Templates Chooser.

  • One Master Template for Mulitple InDesign Documents?

For example, say I have a change to a character style, or a page template.  I want this change to be reflected in multiple documents that all have the same look.
Right now I'm working on a template for a client that has 8 datasheets.  Each time they want a change to the look and feel of their template, I have to make it 8 times, to each InDesign file.  Is it possible to have some sort of master template?  I'm looking for the print equivalent of CSS files of the web design world.
I thought about having all 8 datasheets on one indesign file, but it seems it would be a pain being forced to choose which page I want to export every time for pdfs, and also a hassle with page numbering.
Is it possible to have one master template sync up for multiple InDesign documents?

I do the same. But one thing to add:
If these documents should have independent numbering than you should take care in the page panel's section & numbering options to restart each document with 1 (or whatever you want to start with.)

  • Using a letterhead template for a multi-page document

When using a letterhead template for a multipage document, how do I turn off the template for pages after the first page? I do not want to have the letterhead show up on every page of a letter.

    John,
You can set new margins for your new section in the Layout Inspector. After removing the letterhead elements open the Layout Inspector, choose the Layout tab and set the margins as you need them.
Once you've created and formatted the section to your liking, make it a permanent part of your template.
    1. With the cursor on the second page, go to Format>Advanced>Capture Pages
    2. Give the page a descriptive name, such as 'Second Page'. Include 'First page only.'
    3. Click 'Ok.'
This 'Second Page' is now listed under the "Sections" icon on your toolbar.
    4. Save the document as a template.
Now, whenever you start a new document based on this template add the second page using the Section Icon.
There is a shortcoming to this method in that text will not flow from the first page to the second, given that there is a section break between the two pages. This would be the case even in Word. Of course, even in Word you could not change the margins for the second page without also changing the margins for the first page unless you used a section break.
One way to avoid this problem is to but your address block for the first page into a page high text box and allow text to wrap around it. You can keep the same margins for the first and second page, but on the first page the text will be pushed over to the right. When it wraps to the second page, the text will return to the left margin.
    Good luck,
    Terry

  • How to change page template for a single page?

I create a new document based on the Pages "Reports > Business Report".
Now the first page is formatted as a "Cover" page with a larger top margin.
Via "Format > Advanced > Manage Pages..." I see there are what I assume are the "Page Templates":
    - Cover
    - Table of Contents
    - Chapter Page
    - Text Page
    - Appendix
My question: How can I change the template for a single page in my document? E.g. I don't want Page #1 to be formatted as "Cover". I'd like it to be a "Text Page".
    Any hints?

Just delete the Cover section and insert a Text Page.
    Click on:
    +Toolbar > View > Page Thumbnails+
Click on the Cover thumbnail, it will be outlined in yellow, hit delete.
It may start off with certain defaults but you do not have to accept them.

  • How can I add a new Template to My Templates in Pages? I've read most of the discussions on the subject but it doesn't work for me. By the time I reach the Templates folder, I only see templates for Numbers and not for Pages. Need help, please.  Thanks

How can I add a new Template to My Templates in Pages? I've read most of the discussions on the subject but it doesn't work for me. By the time I reach the Templates folder, I only see templates for Numbers and not for Pages. Need help, please.  Thanks

Si vous avez utilisé la commande Save As Template depuis Pages, il y a forcément un dossier
    iWork > Pages
    contenant Templates > My Templates
comme il y a un dossier
    iWork > Numbers
    contenant Templates > My Templates

  • How do i set up a template for a double sided 3 hole binder book?

I am trying to set up a template for a directory using double-sided pages in a loose leaf binder. How do I set up the margins, etc. for both sides of the page accounting for the holes to be punched. I'm at a loss in understanding how this is to be done and then printed so the pages come out in proper order. Can anyone help?

Inspector > Document > Document Pages > check Facing Pages > Inside: 20mm or .75"
What do you mean by proper order? If you mean printed back to back, you can print all the odd pages first then feed them back into your printer flipped and print all the even pages.
To get them to print and come out in the right order you may have to print the evens first and perhaps printed in reverse order, experiment for your printer and take notes.

  • Looking for a simple flip book template for Flash CS5

Hi, I'm looking for a simple flip book template for Flash CS5 for a 20 page brochure/ booklet. Or a tutorial. Does anyone know of one?
    Thanks!

    Hi Mark,
No need to restrict your choice to the preset Pages Templates. Do a web search and choose a Word template. Pages will open Word documents and templates. Or design your own:
This is a Table I inserted into a blank Pages Word Processing document. Format the date column in Inspector > Table > Format > Cell Format. Select the first Date cell, then drag the fill handle down to increment the dates.

    Ian.
