Template for leaflet in 'accordion' or 'concertina' fold

Dear All,
Does anybody happen to have a template for a concertina/accordion folded leaflet? I'd greatly appreciate if you shared your template with me!
Kind regards
Gerhard

You didn't say whether you were using A4 or A4+ or even longer.
Many templates are available at iworkcommunity :
You can always make one for yourself, taking a horizontal page and dividing it into the necessary leaves of the brochure, the order being:
*6 page brochure A4* : 5, 6, 1 (Cover) | 2, 3, 4 (Back)
or
*8 page brochure 396 x 210mm* : 6, 7, 8, 1 (Cover) | 2, 3, 4, 5 (Back)
or
*10 page brochure 495 x 210mm* : 7, 8, 9, 10, 1 (Cover) | 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (Back)
or
*12 page brochure 594 x 210mm* : 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 1 (Cover) | 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 (Back)
It is usual to make the cover slightly wider than the rest (1mm) to cover any imperfections in folding. This is not as big a problem with concertina folds as no pages have to tuck inside others. Your printer, if he has good folding equipment, should be able to fold very accurately and unless there is a design feature where a stray edge would be shown up, such as in a change of color, just leave the folds for the printer to resolve.
If you know who is going to do the printing, get a sample brochure or dummy fold from them and measure the creases when flattened out.
You no doubt have good reasons for using concertina folds but it is rarely used for A4 or the A4+ because the tail page hangs loose and tends to catch. In either case it is better to fold the third leaf inside for the A4 or do an intermediate half fold for the A4+ then fold in half again.
Even the 12 page brochure is normally folded in half before given the usual tuck fold.
Look around for samples you like and then just copy those.

Si vous avez utilisé la commande Save As Template depuis Pages, il y a forcément un dossier
    iWork > Pages
    contenant Templates > My Templates
comme il y a un dossier
    iWork > Numbers
    contenant Templates > My Templates

  • Quarter fold card template for pages

I've just bought a mac mini and love it.
I'm still moving over from MS products to Apple and it's going pretty well apart from MS Publisher.
This still seems to be better at certain things than Pages.
One issue is the lack of templates for cards in particular.
Does anyone know where i can get hold of a quarter fold card template for Pages?
I did see one but it was for Pages 09 and version 5.5.2 doesn't seem to open it.

You can use a free Avery for MS Word Greeting Card. Click the Template Only (works with PC and Mac) radio button, and then download. Open in Pages v5.5.2, and first save as a Pages document in your Documents folder. Set the font, etc. to what you want in your Quarter-fold card template. Once you have done that, from the File menu, select Save as Template, and give it a name. While you are there, observe what a right-click on the template name presents in a pop-up menu.
When you open Pages without specifying a document, it will default to a Template Chooser. Your Quarter-fold template is parked in the User Templates category.
Pages v5.5.2 is not designed to compete as a true Desktop Publishing/Layout application. If you want to open Publisher documents on the Mac, get a free copy of LibreOffice, which will open them. Since it is not Publisher itself, your mileage will vary on layout accuracy. The LibreOffice PDF documentation is available, and created with LibreOffice. Since this is a superset, MS Office replacement package, there is a forms designer in the Writer application, and the ability to open PDF and edit them also exists. There is also complete Visio support from the first version to the latest.
When you first launch LibreOffice, you must click the open button in the initial dialog, and afterwards, a double-click will open it normally. This will be true for any Mac applications obtained outside the OS X App Store.

  • Help with trying to locate Illustrator templates for CS version 1

I'm trying to locate a copy of the templates that were issued as part of Illustrator CS version 1. Specifically, I'm looking for a file by the name of "flyer3.ait". I would, ideally, like to access all of the templates for CS, version 1, because I am reading the Adobe Illustrator CS, Idea Kit book by Jerome Holder & Barbara Mulligan. and they use these templates as starter files for their book. Thank you in advance.

I really doubt that you are going to find them unless someone has a version of CS1 installed somewhere on an old machine. In the newer versions the template files are in a folder called Cool Extras which may or may not have been installed. Installation of this folder was an option in the newer versions. In AICS3, there is a template called flyer.ait in the above folder.

  • How do I create my own favorite template for DVD slideshows? I used to be able to select this from pulldown menu, but cannot now do so. I am directed straight to templates, which take more memory. I have a large slideshow, and need all the space I can get

First, how do I create my own favorite theme template for DVD slideshows? I used to be able to select this from pulldown menu, but cannot now do so. I am directed straight to already existing themes, which take more memory. I have a large slideshow, and need all the space I can get. I just want to use a picture as my DVD cover, and then insert a slideshow. Also, when I try to burn my 8.5gb double sided slideshow, all that burns is the music. It is a large slideshow, a memorial on the life of my now deceased brother. This means a lot to me and to my family, and I am having so much trouble trying to burn it. I have gone into Project View and selected appropriately. The bar shows I have room to burn this DVD, but it does not burn.  I have burned so many DVDs in the past, but this one just will not burn. I am so confused at this point. I will say this is the first 8.5gb I have attempted to create and burn. My specs list a 7.7gb or 4.7gb as operable....but there are no 7.7gb dvds. I had to purchase 8.5gb. Help? What am I doing wrong? I have spent so much time on this, and just cannot figure it out.

Final Cut is a separate, higher end video editor.  The pro version of iMovie.
Give iPhoto a look at for creating the slideshow.  It's easy to assemble the photos in an album in iPhoto, put them in the order you want and then make a slideshow of them.  You can select from various themes and transitions between slides and add music from your iTunes library.
When you have the slidshow as you want use the Export button at the bottom of the iPhoto window and export with Size = Medium or Large.
Save the resulting Quicktime movie file in your Movies folder.
Next, open iDVD, choose your theme and drag the QT movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Then follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
The reason I suggest iPhoto is that I find it much easier to use than iMovie (except for the older iMovie 6 HD version).  Personal preferences showing here.

  • How do you input/upload the templates for Heart Rates, EKG, etc. onto an already existing form of LabView?

I have LabView 9.0 and I remember last year when I got it I had to go through several steps in order to upload the templates for Heart Rate, EKG, and Blood Pressure.  However, since then, several of my computers have been worked on within the district and the templates are no longer on the main page anymore and I have forgotten the steps to completete to get them back.  Can anyone help me??!!

What main page are you referring to? Are you referring to the Getting Started window that has the "VI from Template..." link that pulls up a dialog to select the type of file to create? That has a tree node that you can navigate and there's a VI -> From Template -> User node. If you place the template in the <labview>/templates folder then they will show up in this node.

  • How to create custom template for webcenter portal application

    Hi,
I created webcenter portal application in my jdev using the webcenter portal application template provided by the webcenter framework.
I tried to create custom template for my application by following steps:
    1. Created new application using webcenter portal application template with all default package structure.
    2. Right click pagetemplates folder under webcontent package and select new option.
    3. New gallery opens up.
    4. Selected JSF under webtier and JSF Page Template under items in the right hand side and clicked Ok button.
    5. New wizard opens up for creating new JSF page template.
    6. Gave template name(file name) and Page Template Name(template def name).
    7. Selected checkbox staing start a Quick Start Layout and selected three column layout and selected Ok.
    8. Selected checkbox for Create Associated ADFm Page Defination(so that page templates can be changes at run time).
    9. Created some Facet Definations (header, footer, content1, content2, LHN, RHN).
    10. Clicked Ok button which will create custom template.
    11. Added some Panel Group Layout component from Component Palette.
    12. Created new page (.jspx) with this template.
Now when I try to add producer portlets created using Producer Portlet application template and connected to the above application using WSRP2.0, I'm facing problem.
The prolem is that I'm not able to add more than one portlet in one single page?
Kindly let me know whether the steps followed by me is wrong some where and needs to corrected and let me know how I can add more than one portlet to page?
Basically I cant see more than one placeholders in my page to add portlets.

    Thanks Yannick.
In the step 9 I had mentioned that I created various facet definations (header, footer, content, content1 RHN and LHN).
Is this is not facet you are talking about or should I drop facet ref from the resource palette?
Can't I add moer than one portlet to my page at design time itself?
Annoying since in weblogic portal we do this at design time(.portal).

  • Need to create stupid proof templates for non-designers

Ok folks, I'm new to this forum having come across it in search of a solution to my problem.
I need to create illustrator template files (.ai not .ait) that customers can download and use to create their own artwork for print. I have to create them in every printable paper format from business cards to A3 posters, folding, non-folding yada yada.
Now, previously, we used an .ai file with a guide layer we created. This guide layer had all relevant info, was named accordingly. It was set not to print and locked. As I tend to use print to file, distiller and all, this has always been perfectly adequate to create my pdfs. Of course, this doesn't work the same way when saving a pdf, which is what most people do. However, customers who wish to download the templates are having some difficulty with the concept of 'make sure you delete the guide layer before saving your pdf'.
For the most part, the customers using these files are not illustrator literate. Even though there are clear instructions to 'delete' the guide layer when saving the needed pdfs, they are failing to do so. This means when the .ai (with the non printable layer) is saved to pdf, the guide layer as a hidden object is saved within the pdf. Upon printing at our printing facilities, the guide layer has been printed with disasterous results.
A possible solution we came up with was to use the ruler guides to create the guide layer. For this solution to work though, I need to be able to use different colours for different guides within the same document. Which we can't. We can only change all the guide colours and they are all the same colour.
Another idea would be to outline text indicating various printable and non-printable areas and making them into guides via View>guides>make guides, which works to an extent but looks messy, especially when viewing the full page and again, isn't particularly distinctive, leading back to having different guides in different colours.
I've come across another possible solution involving template layers. Viewing the resulting pdf seems fine and in all purposes it does what we need, except for when reopening the saved (not printed) pdf back in illustrator, the template layer is still there and I need it gone. The same way it would be if the .ai were printed to postscript and sent through distiller.
My ideal solution would be to have to ability to have the different coloured ruler guides in place throughout my document, but as I previously stated, all guides have to be the same colour and that's useless in this instance.
So, has anyone got any bright ideas. Coincidentally I need to create the same templates for both psd and indesign but I'll cross that bridge when I've figured this out.

Hey Mike, thanks for the response.
    1. Not a chance, if, even when the process is described in great detail in an info pdf, available as info on the website (with screenshot instructions) and mentioned in the .ai file itself, they aren't even deleting the guide layer, then turning off 'Preserve illustrator editing capabilities' is kind of a stretch. Like I said, the folks these templates are to be designed for are not illustrator literate for the most part.
    2. Not sure if this would work. I'd have to look into it.
    3. Beyond my capabilities. I'll let you know if number 2 works.
One possible solution I've come up with uses the idea of a template layer always on top, with 'DELETE THIS LAYER' and screenshot of layers pallette and clear little red arrows etc. If I can the template layer to always remain on top, with their artwork layer underneath, they would have to toggle hide/unhide to view their artwork, and the reminder to remove the guide layer would be pretty much in their face. That's not a guarantee either though.
Personally, I think what I've been asked to achieve is a pretty hard task and honestly, I'm thinking there are no failsafe options.

  • Problem in creating template for the accounting transactions

    Hi,
suppose for making an entry through fb50 we have to enter g/l a/c no. in that particular field but if some one does not want his end user to make an entry to this field other than putting an entry through his end user he wants system to take the required g/l a/c by default is it possible by creating template for that particular postings? if yes how to generate the template? i have tried to make a template through the recurring entries but not succeeded in that , so please help me.
    Thanking You

You can create a template with a particular account code string from within FB50.
Make sure you have the tree turned on (Tree On/ Tree Off button toggles display).
Once you have entered the standard coding, right click on the Account Assignment Template folder to get a popup menu. Select "Save Account Assignment Template". A dialog box will ask you to name the template.
You can then instruct users to use this template to record this type of transaction.
However, this does not prevent the user from doing direct entry or changing account code strings. If you have a situation where for a particular combination of accounting elements, whether header or detail, for which the GL should always be a particular value, you can create a substitution rule in IMG which will automatically populate the GL field with the specific GL account value. The IMG transaction is OBBH.

  • Can a RoboHelp project be used as a template for other projects?

I noticed there is the ability to "duplicate a layout". Does
that mean I can use my RoboHelp project with all its settings as a
template for other projects. I corrupted an existing project by
deleting a generated HTML file. I forced an update on one of the
chapters in a linked FM book and now for whatever reason in the
generated output, the entire book is being re-created within the
folder for the chapter in which I deleted the HTML output and
    forced an output.
Surely I don't have to redefine all the settings again in the
FrameMaker Document Settings dialog, and in the WebHelp layout. All
enlightenment is much appreciated. Come on baby give it to me one
more time! Sorry couldn't resist. It is Friday after all.
    Peter

    Hi there Writerman_in_TO
You seem to have a multiple segmented question.
I noticed there is the ability to "duplicate a layout". Does
that mean I can use my RoboHelp project with all its settings as a
    template for other projects.
In one way, yes you can. You are able to use Windows Explorer
to copy the project folder to a new location. Once you do that, you
can open RoboHelp and open the project. Then click File > Rename
    Project and off you go.
Not sure what to tell you about the Frame > RoboHelp
mashup. Not familiar with Frame yet. Hopefully someone more savvy
there will pop in and help.
    Cheers... Rick

  • How to edit template for report generator in stimulus profile editor in Veristand 2011?

How to edit template for report generator in stimulus profile editor in veristand 2011?
We are using Veristand 2011.When we run any sequence in stimulus profle editor,we get test results in form of ATML file.
We want to customise the template for this test result generation as per our requirement.
    For example:
Test case No.: Description of test case.
    Objectives: Explanation of objectives.
    Result: Passed/ Failed.
    Graph: If any.
Please suggest how to do this.

You cant really change too much in the report, you can customize TRML.xsl which is created every time in the Test Results\UUT 1 folder and that would give you some flexibility on what is shown. I dont know what a xsl is actually able to do in terms of composing data from multiple files (if at all possible) but it definitely allows you to change the visual format of the existing xml data.
Otherwise I modified the xsl to customize the look of the xml report when opened in a browser to have less clutter and some coloring on the Pass/Fail but, the reports are XML files anyway so it's easy to extract data out of them and you can probably write your own report creation tool to compose the report in whatever format you like.

  • Template for Customized Reports

Where will I find templates for customizing forms and reports in OraApps11i.

    Naren,
Another option is, if you want to FORCE global stylesheet for ALL users.  You can update the WebIDefaultStyleSheet.css located in  \SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\images\ folder.

  • Template for Academic Handout

    Hello,
Does anyone know of a template for academic handouts?
    Thanks,
    ~A

Do you happen to know where I could see an example?
While type technology can be device independent, designing with type cannot be context independent. You might have written nothing yet, or you might have written either in the direction of a pamphlet with a fair bit of copy for a fan-folded brochure or in the direction of a poster ideally with no more than three groups of copy per page (so sayeth Jan Tschichold, the father of Functionalist typography). Typography is 2D architecture - in 3D architecture you wouldn't say, "I'd like to build a house, can I see some examples, please?" since the person you asked would have difficulty determining whether you wanted a house on Zanzibar where the point is to raise the roof free of the walls for air circulation or a house in Sweden where you would want to reduce the size of the windows and increase the thickness of the walls.
Perhaps someone has seen a book on the subject of academic typography. Those I can recall are either about line layout (Harts Rules for Compositors and Readers at the University Press Oxford, for instance) or the work of well-known book typographers (On Stone, for instance). If you have access to a graphic arts library, I would suggest you look at brochures published by Monotype and Linotype/Stempel through the twentieth century. For instance, Prof Herman Zapf has through the years produced some absolutely wonderful typography to advertise his work and the products of Stempel (German for patrice). Prof Zapf's work shows that it is as much the typographer as the type that matters, because Linotype/Stempel in fact had a technological problem.
The Linotype assembled matrices that slid down a chute into the casting chamber. It follows that no part of the printing face could overhang the body on which it was cast as in that case the matrices could would have had to hold the differential distance of the right side or left side overhang, causing illegible uneven spacing. So all Linotype/Stempel type was designed to work without what in English is called kerning (from the Latin word for a hinge since a kern hinges on its neighbour's body). By the same token, the angle of cursive faces had to be changed and the right-extension ascenders and left-extension descenders had to be compressed e.g. in lower case cursive f and j. Nonetheless, Prof Zapf works wonders with type in just black and rubrication (dark and dense red) printed on good paper.
    Hope this helps (a bit).

  • XSLT stylesheet template for Endeca Records

Endeca Forge provides a Record Adapter which can load XML data, transformed (if required) to Endeca's XML record format by an XML Stylesheet Template (XSLT). This provides a way of getting XML into Endeca with a minimum of fuss, for data analysis, PoCs and for modest amounts of XML data in production applications.
There was an XSLT template posted to Endeca Eden prior to the acquisition. The thread is still available at:
    http://eden.endeca.com/web/eden/forums/message_boards/message/99120
Does anyone have a copy of the template?
    TG

    Hi TG,
Template XSLT below. Its main feature is that it attempts to be XSLT-agnostic, other than identification of the start-record element/x-path. It could be optimized for specific XML structures, or modified to support more complex XML data.
Note also the remarks about XSLT and larger XML data - as your XML source data gets larger, XSLT will become less attractive, and you'll want to implement a streaming or pull-parser approach (SAX, StAX).
    Best
    Brett

         <!--
              ========== About this stylesheet ==========
This is a generic stylesheet for transforming an XML file into the XML record format accepted by Endeca Forge.
The stylesheet is designed to be reasonably agnostic about the source XML format: the main configuration required is to identify
one or more repeating record elements in the source XML.  The stylesheet creates the root RECORDS element, enclosing one RECORD element for each
              repeating element.
Each RECORD element is then assigned any number of PROP name-value pairs created for each property, with each PROP containing
a NAME attribute and a PVAL.  The stylesheet effectively "flattens" the XML into a RECORD, recursively fetching sub-elements and creating
properties named according to the hierarchical path (think XPath).
              ========== Stylesheet configuration ==========
Add your base source repeating elements as an xpath selector at ADD RECORD SELECTORS HERE below.
The default example in the template is "item", which suites an RSS 2.0 feed.
By default, the template will use full path property names.  To change to simple property names, change the variable
              use-simple-prop-names below to true().
You can also change the path dividers used in full property names - see path-divider and attribute-divider variables below.
              ========== Examples ==========
The first example used is an RSS 2.0 feed (note that there are other Endeca adapters for this type of data).
Using full property names, this will produce records with the following properties:
              rss_channel_item_title
              rss_channel_item_description
              rss_channel_item_link
              rss_channel_item_guid_@isPermaLink
and so on.  With simple prop names, only the last part of the name is used (after the last _ or @).
The second example (sample.xml and sample_records.xml) shows how nested repeating elements within a record are folded-down to
              a multi-value property.
         -->
<!-- change select to true() to use simple prop names -->
         <xsl:variable name="use-simple-prop-names" select="false()" />
         <xsl:variable name="path-divider">

  • Template for documents in KM

    Hi,
I am using Templates for documents in KM, EP7 SP13. I have activated the Template Service, uploaded the template files, and assigned the templates for a specific folder.
In fact, I am capable to create new files based on the uploaded templates by Folder -> New -> From Template -> <my template>.
So far, everything is working ok.
My problem arises when I want to save the document based on the template, after I modified it. I want to save it in the same folder I created it (I mean, I want overwrite -or update- the document).
But, instead that, I can only save a local copy, that I have to upload after...
Does anyone know why? Did I forget some config step?
    Thanks in advance!
    Marcelo

    Hi Marcelo,
Did you run through all the steps listed in the documentation?
