Template Installer JDI NW2004s SP05

HI all,
I have installed NW2004s and updated to SP05 and try to run the template installer for usage type DI. However when I run the template installer with template "DI_Postinstallation", I got an error seems related to localization problem on step 8 (Configure CMS):

Element 'SAPConfigLib.J2E.Unclassified.createTrack':Error during executing Java Reflection:Unable to open connection to host "pwdf3102:50100". The IP address of the host could not be resolved. Maybe the URL is misspelled or the host does no longer exist..
The exception message was clear that. "pwdf3102" not able to connect this host. Acually , that was not my system name. so, Please let me know the process for changing this entry "pwdf3102" with the actual system name.

Template Installer ... this will drive me insane soon

Hi there
I am still having trouble getting the flipping template installer to run.
We have now updated to SP11, so I can't believe it is a patch level thing.
If I try to run the installer now, I get an error on step 8, which says
Character not allowed: ':' in 'pcd:portal_content' [Root exception is javax.naming.InvalidNameException: Character not allowed: ':' in 'pcd:portal_content'
I don't know where it is getting the ":" from, or where it wants to put it, so fixing the error is extremely frustrating.
Please, someone out there tell me you have a solution.

Sorry ... I was the same as you, SP11 and NW2004s, but still no joy with the Template Installer. I resorted to running the template installer a few times, got the errors, then went through the steps in SPRO manually.
The outstanding steps in SPRO weren't terribly difficult to do, and it was soon all up and running.
Would have been nice if SAP could have provided software that worked though.

How can I install JDI in netweaver 2004s (SP09)? I can't find template in NWA.

I've read these notes, portal is after upgrade and notes said:

Error , while running the Template Installer

Hi Experts,
I am getting the following error when running the Template Installer in NWA.
When i trying to save the domain information in CMS , i am getting the following error.
Unexpected error; inform your system administrator: <Localization failed: ResourceBundle='com.sap.cms.util.exception.CMSExceptionMessages', ID='SLD name-server configuration error', Arguments: []> : Can't find resource for bundle java.util.PropertyResourceBundle, key SLD name-server configuration error.
I have seen following solution in the forums.
In the SLD->Technical Landscape-> Technical System Type, select "System Landscape Directory" ensure that the SLD server you use has the 'Name Server' check box selected and right CIM Server URL is mentioned.
But i haven't find this navigation for (Technical Landscape)in my SLD again in that choosing the"System Landscape Directory" . Please let me know the correct path to fix this problem.
I have logged in to sld
http://<server>:<port>/sld
Under the "Home" -> Link having Landscape -> Technical System and Landscapes.
I have tried in both (Technical Systems and Landscapes)the places , i have nt find the "System Landscape Directory". to see the "Name Server" check box to select.
Please give the right path to select the respective check box

NWDI Administration User
NWDI CMS Administration User
NWDI Development User
are automatically created and they are required. Also the steps to allocate the users to groups are automatically performed

Problem running BI template installer after upgrade to 2004s

Hello,
After upgrading our Portal from EP6 to EP7 I have a problem running the BI template installer. The failure occures right at the beginning. The installer is looking for SLD related parameters in the 'CTC> Propertysheet SystemProperties'.
But there are only three parameters in the sheet :
HOST, SYSTEM_ID, INSTANCE_ID.
If you instal a new 2004s system you see much more entries in the 'Propertysheet SystemProperties'.
My question is how to add these missing entries into the 'Propertysheet SystemProperties'.

Actually there are only two things to manually fix after the CTC template run, which is mentioned in the Blog:
- check/correct the following settings in the NetWeaver Administrator for evaluate_assertion_ticket and ticket according SAP Note 945055
- the entry in table RSPOR_T_PORTAL for Platform and PDF fonts
If you uncertain, you can remove the created objects as stated in the Document http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-11607 => Page18 in the Notes Section. the CTC template is creating these objects and entries again.

1.Goto TCODE u2018STZACu2019 and set the System Time Zone and Useru2019s Default Time Zone to india(whatever u want)
2. give the permission to portal folder's.u can find PDF for that using search string "How to configure permission for portal" in google.
give all the permission as PDF says.

Hi Eric,
I had a similar error with the template installer. Oss note 917950 is definitely the place to start. Make sure you have sso defined on abap system by maintaining profile parameters:
login/accept_sso2_ticket=1
login/create_sso2_ticket=2
Restart sap and rerun template installer.

I the browser when I navigate in "SAP NetWeaver Administrator" -> "Deploy and Change" -> Template Installer, I get the error message "Cannot start plug-in".

Yes, it does appear that I am building with a "Debug" profile. I started my plugin from one of the sample projects and, as covered elsewhere in the forum, the sample projects do not include "Release" profiles. Will you give me some hints or point me to some informaiton on how to create a release profile for my plugin?

If you do not have an Admin role already, use J2EE_ADMIN.
We have had issues with running the template installer and had to use OSS Note 764176 to resolve the issues.

Template Installer SLD Local only

I have installed EP and have not configured SLD. I went to the NWA url and noticed a meesage stating Local SLD can only be configured (or something like that).
Can I run the template installer for NWA Configure SLD to point to the central SLD? If not what do I have to do to point to a central SLD.
