Template Loses Flash Content

Question

Hi,
as a newbie, I am probably messing things up myself. But here
is the problem.
I built a site in Flash, but was advised here last weekend
(by Murray?) that html was the way to go as far as getting my site
indexed properly. So, off I went and started building another
version of my site.
Since I already had a Flash menu in place (can be seen here
http://www.welcometoventure.com
) I wanted to retain it, and dropped the 900px by 100px swf into my
html template, using separate html links at the page bottom for
indexing.
If I make ANY change to the template, even for example
merging 2 small non editable cells at the bottom of the page, when
I open any of the several pages generated from the template, the
Flash menu has disappeared! Another flash element on the page works
just fine, but the menu disappears every single time, no matter
what I change in the template.
I am completely baffled!!! Help would be wonderful.

Yes, if you are referring to the "Link Relative to:" field.
If not, just
manually edit the code in and around the flash element to
change all
references to the name of the Flash file from "whatever.swf"
to
"/whatever.swf", or from "whatever" to "/whatever".

If you are building only a static page site, you do not need
a testing
server. By virtue of defining one for your static pages,
what's happening
is that DW is handing the DWT file to the webserver, which
has no idea what
to do with it, and is therefore handing the text of the file
to the browser.
