Template "Save As"

Hello:
I don't have access to DreamWeaver at home - only at the office. What I do have access to is the website host's downloading and uploading of files capabilities.
My problem is that instead of using "File>New from Template" in Dreamweaver, can I instead just do a "Save As" of the template file and rename it to something else? And in this way can I then just add stuff to the new file ( which ofcourse should already have stuff from the template)?
Thanks, any help will be greatly appreciated.

DW Templates are a propriety animal.  They won't work in other text/HTML editors.  If you do as you propose, you could mess up other site pages based on your DWT files.
File > New Page from Template.  Save as somefilname.html.  Open this page in a plain text editor (notepad, NoteTab...) strip out all the Template specific comments from the code.
Save again. This is no longer a child of a Template so any changes to the original DWT will have no effect on it.
Better still, don't bring work home.

  • Excel Template - Save with Unique Names

Hi - I have a SharePoint 2010 document library with an Excel template as the template.  When a user creates a New Document (new Excel workbook from template), the name of the new file is "PSR1".  Someone else may have also created a
new workbook, where the default name is PSR1.  How can you get Excel to name the file uniquely with each template?  I've set up fields to capture user name and date/hours/mins/sec and have it concatenated ina field for use as the name, but I can't
get Excel to use it or figure out how to make SharePoint require unique file names.  Thank you.

OOTB way there isn't any option to allow users to provide a specific file name, either you can set content approval for that document library or set an announcement / header asking users to only save file with that specific name series.

  • How do I use a numbers template & save a new spreadsheet name

Numbers 3.1.  I have established a template, e.g. 2014 household budget.  Using that template, I then have entered data for a month, e.g. February.  If I Save before closing, how and where do I rename?  File, Rename changes the template and the name is not saved in Finder.  I miss Save As.  So much simpler!

    Hi Pr,
    3 ways.
    1. Save As appears in the File Menu when you hold down the option key.
    2. In Numbers, click on the document name in the title bar
    3. You can rename a document in Finder.

  • Template Save As help.  Please! ack!

When I apply a template to a page and go to File Save or Ctrl
    S it directs
me to the Templates Box and asks me the name that I want to
    call the
template. I don't want it to be a template, I just want my
    plain old .cfm
file back! So I try File Save As and simply copy over my .cfm
    file but when
I view my site I get error message. The code referenced in
    the error
message is not in the main template which I am applying, nor
    the .cfm file
after I've applied the template, not the .cfm _before_ I
    apply the template.
I am losing my (a) hair (b) mind (c) I'll think of something.
How can I simply File Save and browse through my site? I only
    get these
error messages after applying template and saving the only
    way I can: File,
Save As and overwriting my .cfm file.
    Sniffle.

The first link is throwing a js error - you must not have
    uploaded the
Script folder for the Flash management in DW8. Also, it is a
    template child
page, and should not give you that message when you save it.
The second link gives me a CF error -
Invalid CFML construct found on line 538 at column 41.
ColdFusion was looking at the following text:
    The CFML compiler was processing:

    The error occurred in

The third link gives the same error. The fourth link does not.
    It renders

  • How to open Excel Template save it under a different name and then write and save data to it at regualar intervals

I have an excel template that I have created. I am opening that template, saving it under a different name, and then writing and saving data to that excel sheet at regular intervals. It is giving me an error 5, I understand what this means and I am trying to work around it.  However after too many hours spent trying to figure it out, I have asked for any help or input. I have attached an example vi, not the actual one since it is very involved.
    Thanks

This snippet encapsulates most of the previous suggestions, and adds a few of my own.
The first code shows one (simplified) way of building the output file name.  It incorporates the Build Path function to combine Report File Path with the file name (don't need initial "\"), builds the File Name with Format into String, getting the Time part of the name from Format Date/Time String.  I also use Build Path to get the Template path.  Inside the For Loop, another Format into String gets the data that is placed in the 10 Excel cells.  We don't write anything yet -- we're only filling in the cells in the WorkSheet (think of how you use Excel -- you could, but probably don't, save the WorkBook after every cell entry, you wait until you are all done and then do a Save, followed by closing Excel).  Finally, when we are done, we save the file using the output name we want to use, then close Excel (which disposes of the Report Object).  If we want to generate another report, with another (time-based) name, we can put this code into a sub-VI and simply call it again.
Don't worry if you don't have LabVIEW 2014 (which was used to save this snippet) -- most of the code comes from the original that you posted, so it should be a pretty simple edit to change that code to match this.

  • Outlook 2013 NormalEmail.dotm macro template save as pop up

When quitting outlook within the company the "Save as" dialogue box pops up asking to save the macro enabled email template into the companies Workgroup template folder.
So far this only seems to be a problem with Office 2013 and only with Outlook. I have tried booting into safe mode and this crashes outlook. I have also disabled add-ins however they are all
Microsoft Add-ins and have not made a difference the save as still appears. (It is not the people pane as this is already disabled.)
Is there any fix or work around for this?

    Hi,
We can try adding the following registry key to check the result:
    Important
This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the
registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry,

  • Community Template; Save as Template Results in Several Errors

I customized a Community Site.  I saved that site as a template.  I used that template to create another site.  Resulting errors\things I don't like.
    1) When I click on Categories, the Featured Dicussion app and the Discussion app show correlation ID errors.
I deleted the Dicsussion app, re-added it, hoocked it up to the Categories webpart and that seemed to fix the error
I deleted the Featured Discussion app and re-added it.  Seamed to work however if there isn't a Featured Discussion the app isn't hidden like in the Community Template.  It just says there are no items in the Disucssion
    2) When I go to the Discussion List itsleft the Management View is gone.  I got around this by recreating it.
    3) When I went to a dicussion thread I had to change the view to Flat and make it the default.
All that being said, why can't I create a template from a Community Site without getting all these issues?  Has anyone figured out a way to do this?

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you saved Community Site as Template results in several errors.
I tried to reproduce the issues, the site which created by the saved Template did has many problems.
This is a known issue in SharePoint Sever 2013. To work around this issue, create sites from a standard SharePoint template when you plan to use community categories. Everything will functions correctly on a site that wasn't created from a site saved as
    a template.
Please refer to the official article related, although it is about the SharePoint online, it still works for SharePoint 2013.

    Thank you for your understanding.

  • Report Template does not save

    HI,

    Any recommendations ? Thanks

    Hello Sanjay,
It seems to be DMS configuration issue. May be your system is trying to store the template document to external database by using "kpro". Please check for following two configurations:
    1. Go to Basic Data & Tools-->Report Definition >Settings for Document Management>Assign EHS doc type to DMS doc type Here for doc type "SBV" , Ty. should be "SBV" and Data Carrier should be "SAP System" if you are not specifying any     external server for document storage.
    2. Next, Go to Basic Data & Tools-->Report Definition >Settings for Document Management> Check Doc types and doc statuses.  Go to the "Details" of doc type "SBV", and uncheck "kpro" if checked.
If you have configured external server for WWI docs, then you need to define different data carrier.
Please tell if it solves your problem, otherwise you may be probably having problem with your document status management.
In that case, you may like to refer following SAP notes in sequence.

  • I am unable to save templates

I am not able to save several of my form templates to fcdt file, the process just contiues to spin. Other templates save without issue. Are original templates being backup on system, how safe is the template?

I see. Thanks for clarifying that.
Your forms are quite safe when hosted on our servers. One scenario where having a local backup would be necessary is if you happened to accidentally delete the file from your list of forms.
If possible, would you mind sharing one of the problematic forms with me, [email protected], so that I can investigate the issue? Instructions for sharing the form can be found at http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2462.

I have a custom template.  When I edit it and try to save it asks me to name it and then I end up with an additional custom template.  How do I edit the template and save the changes without creating another template?

    Hi Atrec,
If you don't need your old custom template, save your changes with the same template name. It will tell you that this template exists and will ask you Replace? Say yes (if you do want to replace the old with the new!)
To delete unwanted templates, go to Finder > Menu > Go and press the option key. Your Library will show in the Go Menu. Navigate to Library > Application Support > iWork > Numbers > Templates > My Templates.
Delete any unwanted template by dragging it to the Trash or click on it then command-delete.
Having gone to all that trouble to find My Templates folder, right click (or control click) on it and Make Alias. Drag the Alias to any convenient place for a quick way to get back to that folder.

  • Need help with creating template. Changes are not going through to index.html page

    Hi all,
I have an issue with my template that I am creating and also a question about creating template Regions (Repeating and Editable).
Somehow my changes to my index.dwt are not changing my index.html page.
Also my other question is: For my top navigation bar and left navigation bar links, do I need to select and define each individual button or link as Repeating/Editable Region? or can I just select the whole navigation bar (the one on the top) etc...
Below are my steps for creating my template...I am kinda fairly new to using DW and this is my first attempt to making a template following the DW tutorial CD that came with DW CS3.
I appreciate any help with this...regards, Dano
    -Open my index.html file
    -File/save as template
    -Save
    -update links - yes
-Select Repeating and Editable Regions (I selected the whole top navigation bar and selected Repeating Region and Editable Region, same with the left side navigation links)
    -File close all
    -Open the index.dwt
-Save as and selected the index.html and chose to overide it..
When I make changes to my index.dwt it is not changing the index.html

  • How to Create/Modify/Delete a query view from the web template in BI 7.0

    All:
In BW 3.5, the <b>Query Selection View</b>  web item was introduced for users to create a query view to save the navigational state of a query. This web item was also available to modify and delete an existing query view.
The Query Selection View web item <u>does not</u> exist in BI 7.0. I see the drop down web item can be used to display the query views associated to a query.
Can anyone share how to create, modify, save or delete a <b>query view</b> on the web in BI 7.0
    Thanks,
    Kumar

Sanjay, we experienced the same issue. Below are a few pieces of information that may be of help: 1-The Save As button on the 0ANALYZER template saves the query to the portal. From Bex Web or Bex Analyzer, you have no access to these saved views. We created a ZANALYZER copy of the 0ANALYZER template and removed the Save As button. 2- If you right mouse click on any item in the query results grid of Bex Web, you get a small menu. Clicking on the menu item Save View will save the view to BI. You do not have the ability to delete the saved views from Bex Web. However, you can delete them from Bex Analyzer. This was not an option for us since most of our users are using Bex Web. 3- On the same menu, clicking on Bookmark, saves the navigation and also opens the Internet Explorer Favorites maintence window. The navigation is saved as an entry into the users Internet Explorer favorites where they can organize and delete their entries. However, deleting the favorite does not delete the entry for the bookmark in BI. The bookmarks are stored in table RSWR_DATA. Program RSWR_BOOKMARK_REORG can be used to manage the saved bookmarks. We are loading RSWR_DATA into a chracteristic so that we can query the information in order to help us manage it. I hope this helps you and others that appear to be struggling with the issue of saved views in Bex Web.
