Template: Tablet Layout (1280px) ?

How can I create new wireframe for tablet in resolution 1280px?

Hi Mariusz,
The largest layout supported currently is 992px. The product does have the Tablet layout at 768px width, this was probably chosen given that tablets typically need to be viewable at either horizontal or vertical orientations. Often with web design one caters to the industry standard or lowest common denominator for the intended device, thats not to say you have to do that, just helps vistors hopefully have a consistent experience viewing the site.
If you would still really like to see support for 1280px wireframes added, we could create an idea thread with this as a feature request?

That answer really helped and I am making progress! Now for some reason when I pull up the blog on my mobile, it says 'Error: Some files are missing or can not be loaded. Please clear cache and reload the page.' Any ideas why this might be happening? I haven't used the {system_visitorDeviceClass} that you mentioned.
Maybe the method I used to create mobile layouts was wrong but what I did was create mobile and tablet layouts with the {tag_pagecontent} on each. Once published, I copied the html code for the phone template (as it did not automatically recognize the mobile and tablet page template were part of the same desktop layout) and pasted it to my template I had already assigned as a default. I then did the same for my tablet layout. What am I missing here : /

Widgets not functioning correctly on tablet layout

I've noticed that my new ipad is showing my tablet layout of muse website, but some of the widgets are not functioning correctly. I have tried a few widgets for the tablet layout and it has resulted in problems.
Please take a look at www.littlesouth.com for an example of the current error.

Unbale to downlaod .XLS template from layout

Hi All,
we are using BI Publisher deployed on websphere. we are able to downlaod all tmplates(like rtf) except .xls template from layout. is this a bug? if so can anyone provide the details how to overcome this bug?. Thanks in advance.

Maybe this is not good answer, but do you have excel installed on the machine where you trying to download file?
Some of my clients had the same problem, and we figured out that the client doesn't have excel installed.

For the class .footer_style, you need to remove the height:200px (set a min-height:200px if you want the <div> to never shrink past a certain point) and add overflow:hidden so it doesn't collapse with all those floated elements within it.
That should do it.

Pinning in Tablet Layout

I'm hoping that someone can help me understand why Muse is not allowing me to pin my navigation in tablet layout?

The short answer is because it won't work. Web browsers for many tablets don't support pinning, so Muse doesn't let you pin objects in tablet designs, since it won't work for most website visitors that use a tablet.

Custom templates/styles/layouts

custom templates/styles/layouts that I save - no matter which folder I save them in (and change the path accordingly in DVDSP prefs)/delete prefs/repair permissions - do not appear in DVD SP 4.0.3's palettess viewer. Any suggestions? Want to drag a track inc chapter markers to menu, to create a menu, but SP then forces me to choose a template/layout, but of course the one I have made is unavailable...

It seems you are hoping to have possible multiple layouts for specific products which unfortunately is not available at this stage. There's only 2 dedicated small product layouts and 1 large details layout.
If wanting to wrap the product item to a different template you could assign the product item to a specific catalog to have the unique template but the layout would remain consistent to what I've noted above.

How do I convert an html design web site to CSS template and layout?

How can I convert, apply, or change, efficiently, my html web pages into a CSS template so I don’t have to change each page every time I add something to the main page…also, I currently have two tables (I know, old-fashioned) one which holds my list of contents and links to the different sections (page) with information from the community on the website. The other table holds my text and pictures which I want to update daily. How can I change the format to a 2 column, liquid layout with a masthead area on top for logo and text with a box around it. Time was not available for me to learn all the details of my new Dreamweaver program so I did what I knew and uploaded it with all the boo-boos, inactive links and non-existant pages.
Now I have the time to focus and want to get it done better so that it is easy to update with new text and features daily. (I am converting my printed newspaper to an online version after 17 plus years and trying to learn the new Adobe Premium Design Suite CS5 programs. What a trip this is at 61-years-old!
My community and readership are looking forward to the web site according to a survey I took. They are very tolerant about my boo-boos while I learn the new software for the web design. I’ve let them know, through my newspaper and personally (I am very active in the community), that online is where I am going and all that I’ve spoken to, or who have sent emails, are very supportive and look forward to getting their news from my web site newspaper.)
I am seeking some guidance...I know a little about a lot, but not a lot about anything...even though I've been working with computers since 1983.

It think it should be possible to layout the page with HTML template text and use ADF Faces tags.

As of EA12 (and EA13) <afh:body> is what is known as a "rendersChildren" tag. It needs to do so in order to support partial-page rendering This means that template text inside it needs to be wrapped inside <f:verbatim>.
For later releases of ADF Faces, I've filed an enhancement request to loosen up this restriction for <afh:body>.

Template's layout, dimension size, fit to screen

A good Web page template layout fits to screen from vertical to horizontal screen aspect ratio. In order for my final project to translate into a up to date site I'm looking for a specific way to implement the functionality of the design in a browser to fit the whole screen without scroll bars going horizontal only vertical. if thats possible, How does a web designer who might work from his 11 inch laptop screen and one whose working from a 18 inch screen know their page layout will fill up the screen and design page like an artists fills up the canvas with paint. or one light in a room illuminates the entire perimeter. In other words what would the ideal number for a web templates size be in a 2 dimensional screen that will adjust its dimensions according to the dimensions of a screen.
This image is from widely used kickstarter and its a perfect example of how the woman at the top is in front of a balck background that streches from one end of the screen to the other and it doesnt require horizontal scroll bar to navigate from left to right only top to bottom. How did the designer code his template for it to do just that?

Make a black image that is as tall as you want the band at the top of the page to be, and let's say 100px wide. Make this image the background image for the page, with CSS style of repeat-x. That's all there is to it.

Pin Footer in Phone & Tablet layout

Hi,
Is it possible to pin the footer to the bottom of the screen in the phone and tablet version?
The pin icon is not highlighted and will not allow me to pin the footer.

Due to lack of support on some tablet and smartphone browsers, pinning is disabled in Muse for tablet and smartphone layouts.
You might see in this feature in futue releases of Adobe Muse.

Repeating Web Templates or Layouts

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to have a repeating layout in a web template. The reason I need this is because I have a variable number of customers that will be output for each layout. For each customer, there will be a graph, some information, etc.
For example, the layout would be:
Customer 1
Graph (With 4 - 6 series)
Some standalone key figures
comments, etc.
Customer 2
Graph (With 4 - 6 series)
Some standalone key figures
comments, etc.
Cusotmer 3
Same as above and so on.
The only problem is the number of customers will be variable. It could 5, 73 and so on depending on the variables entered by the user.
Is there any way to do this in the suite of BEX (non business objects) tools currently?

"Enable Swipe" don't work and Tablet Layout on a Smartphone

I have two big problems with my own site www.mhgrafikdesign.de:
1. I have different slideshows in my tablet version of my site. I created the slideshow before one of the updates with the feature "Enable swipe" came out. However, it worked well on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1n. Now I have a Microsoft Surface and it's not working anymore although "Enable Swipe" is enabled. I don't know if the Microsoft Surface has problems with the slideshow or one of the updates has "damaged" my slideshow. Please help me! Any ideas?
2. I have a HTC 8S smartphone and if I type www.mhgrafikdesign.de my smartphone always show me the tablet version. Any idea why? P.S. Swiping there is also not possible.

This is now a slideshow created with Muse: Homepage
The slideshow uses fullscreen mode and was build with the latest version of Muse. On my Win8-Tablet, it is not working. I tested this with the IE11 in desktop- and in modern-ui-mode.
Next to this problem, I also run into these things:
1. Using the buttons to go forward and backward in the slideshow will select the text-arrow inside the button when touched.
2. Clicking the forward- and backward-button behaves different. Windows Desktop -> slideshow does not roll back, so you can click forever in one direction, no feedback that you reached the end. On iOS -> slideshow will be rolled back and you get the visual feedback to start over again.
3. Zoom into the fullscreen-slideshow will result in strange and not really controllabel behaviour. Zooming in does not allow to pan.
But I am not talking only about the phones. It is more about windows tablets in general. So, content can be viewed in the InternetExplorer11 in desktop-mode and also in modern-UI-mode (touch does work in both modes). But it is also possible, that people use other browsers like Firefox and Chrome. I think, it would be a quite a good idea to translate the movement of the mousepointer into gestures. How do I create a template/page layout for artwork for a folder?

Hi can someone please explain how I can create a page layout in Indesign CS5 to design the artwork for a folder. The folder is an A4 paper wallet type folder with a 3mm spine - I'm just not sure how to build this on the page! I have a subcription to lynda.com but can't seem to search out a relevant tutorial.

Do you mean for a Pocket Folder?
Here's a quick and dirty way.
New document > Page Size > A3 > Toggle wide
Place your curser in the width and after the dimension type +3mm
Set Columns to 2, Gutter = 3mm
Margins 0
Bleed, if needed, to 3mm
