  • How can I change the logo in a template?

    Hello everyone,
I have searched the Oracle Reports documentation, these forums and the Metalink forums, but I really can't find an answer to what should be a really simple question. My question is: How can I set a logo (an image) in a report template (*.tdf file)? Defining things like a company logo is exactly the purpose of using templates, I think, so I find it strange that is is so difficult to do this. I must be missing something very obvious...
All help will be much appreciated!
By the way, I use reports builder 10.1.2.
    Regards,
    Frans

    I have got it!
In the template editor, there is a button 'Edit Margin' which you can press to edit the margin of a template. This is needed because the log is a part of the report margin.

  • Generating reports in Designer 9.

    Hi all.
I want to generate reports, that has both a header- and a trailer section page.
Usually this was part of the template report, but in Designer 9, the generator first converts the template report (.rdf) to a template report (.tdf), and is then using this template.
But where is the header- and trailer page? You can't see them in the reports builder, when looking at templates. And the generated report does not contain any header- nor trailer pages.
    Have I missed something?
    Any replies welcome...

    Hi ,
Thanks for your patience . Please try this . This is from documentation .
1)The template will be applied to the current section of the report (the section displayed in the Paper Layout view) by default. If no section is displayed, the template will be applied to the Main Section of the report by default. If you select the node for the entire report in the Object Navigator, the template will be applied to the Main Section of the report by default. To apply the template to a specific section of your report, select the node for that section in the Object Navigator.
So after applying template to the main section , please try by applying it individually to header and trailer sections in object navigator .
Can you first please try by applying a template (.tdf) file , rather than a .rdf file ?
    2) >>Now, in the documentation for Designer, it says, that I can use a standard report (.rdf) file as a template in the generation process. <<
Can you please tell the section in documentation where this is mentioned ?
    Thanks

  • Header and trailer pages in report templates

    Hi:
I wonder how can i make header and trailer pages in the tamplate reports , so that the objects in the template header & footer report would be inherited to the generated reports. I use Oracle reports 6.0.8 and there is no header section, niether Trailer section in the Template Editor, I've read in the reports online help :"You can use the margin and body of the Header and Trailer sections to create a Header and Trailer “page” as in earlier releases. In future releases, you will be able to add and delete sections.", is there any method i can use to make header&trailer pages in the template.

I have the same question. This is what I found on Metalink.
goal: How To Define A Header/Trailer Section In A Reports Template Definition File (TDF)
    fact: Oracle Reports Developer
fix: It is not possible to have a HEADER/TRAILER section in a Reports Template Definition File (TDF). Templates do not need to have a HEADER/TRAILER section, infact there is no sectioning in a template. They just define the visual layout when applied against a report section.
This did not answer my question!

  • How to create a report template

    Hello
Could anybody give the information/steps for creating a report template.
    Thanks.

    Hi
I have created report templates that are now being used in our shop.
Help in report developer was good beginning to learn this.
Best thing that I found after struggling for a while, is to take an existinf template file(like rwblue, rwgreen etc) that gets shipped with report devloper and to customize to to your specific needs. This way your job gets reduced quite a bit.
You can open the existing template file(.tdf) in template editor (they are located ora_home\reports\tempate directory. Make the required changes and save it with a diff name. You can add the same to the list of default templates, The steps involved for this is explained pretty well in report developert help/manual.
Please note: This requires some advanced skill in the report devloeper tool. You can not expect a newbie to this job....
You can also visit www.dulcian.com and look under report developer tool for additioanl info on report templates, I think they have a good presentation by paul dorsey et. al on this topic.
    good luck!

In the template you should change both the font for headings and for data.
Those are 2 different section in the template.

  • Report template in designer 6i

    Hi
How to make a reports template in designer
to generate a report with header/footer
sections? In a .TDF file, you have only
one section, that corresponds to the body
    section...
In previous releases, we used a .RDF as
a template, and it could have that sections,
    beside the body.
I ask this because it seems that designer
converts a RDF into a TDF during the generation
    of a report.
    Thanks

You don't need to worry about rdf to tdf conversion.
You create a rdf only with Header and Footer Sections as you
want the layout to be and then attach this RDF to the report
module in designer as abc.rdf only. The designer will do the
necessary conversion and you will have the desired output.

  • Problem with "Run Web Layout" using own template

When I run a report (using Run Web Layout) which uses my own template (a modified version of rwblue.tdf), it outputs a plain page on the browser (as though it has no template).
When running the same report (using Run Paper Layout), the output is as it should be.
Can anyone help? Thank you in anticipation.

    Hi John
Take a look at Reports product site on otn site. It has an example on how to create a web template for Reports Web View. In addtion to tdf file, for web layout, you need to have a .css file as well as a html code template.
    Hope this will help.
    Thanks

  • User Defined Templates

    Hi,
I would like to know how this can be done, Please help me out if you have any idea regarding templates.
    null

You take one of your arranged reports: with the right fonts, borders, with margin objects: dates, page number. You can also add user parameters, report level triggers and you can set the desired system parameter default values.
The source report should only have a Main Section. No Trailer or Header sections!
In the report builder, File menu, Administration, Convert, select your report as source and TDF as Destination for conversion.
Then you need to open this new TDF file in the Template section of the report and by using the Property Palette, you can make further modifications at the parameters, or fields alignment, font, border, etc. for each desired type of report and level.
You may want to make multiple templates for different levels.
For more advanced information you can check the paper http://www.dulcian.com/papers/Report%20Templates-Getting%20the%20Most%20Out%20of%20Oracle%20Reports.htm
written by Dr. Paul dorsey or his book Developer Advanced Forms and Reports - Peter Koletzke & Dr. Paul Dorsey - Oracle Press.

  • Deploying a new template

I have created a new template with Reports Builder and saved it as a .tdf file.
When in Reports Builder it can reference it fine, but when I save the report off and run it through the web browser, it cannot find the template.
Where do I place the template file so that the report can see it when run through the server?

the template has to be in the reports path.

  • I can't use my Report Template !!!

    Hi friends,
I built my Report Template and saved it as Inatel.tdf, after this I created a report using the Inatel.tdf template and the Report Builder generated this code :
    <rw:style id="Inatel">
    <link rel="StyleSheet" type="text/css" href="css/-B">
    </rw:style>
    In the second line : href="css/-B"> -B ????
    Is it a bug?
If not, what am I missing to do?
I think that I need to create the css file, but how can I create it?
Is there some document about this? Where it is?

    Artur,
tdf files are only usable with paper based reports, not web based as you seem to be attempting.
Take a look at rwTemplates.xml (under orawin\reports\templates) and follow the examples there to create a web template (which you can then add to cauprefs.ora so that they show in the builder).
For a web template you will need:
    a) An HTML file to act as the basis of the generated jsp.
    b) A css file that maps the class set used in the template to some styles (see examples in orawin\reports\docroot\css). Note that this css file will need to be available to the page after it's generated.
There is a paper planned on this that's currently being written and will be published on OTN once complete.

  • And/or if statement in rtf templates.

    Hi all,
    I'm using XML Publisher 4.5.
I have created a word template file (rtf) for my reports. I need to be able to show some content in the template file by using and and/or if statement.
    fx. <?if:doc_type='STANDARD'?> OR <?if:doc_type='DEFAULT'?>
    How can I do this?
    In advance thank you.
    Best regards
    Kenneth

    Hi D,
    Thank you for your answer.
I have seriously thought about that solution; but I don't think it's a smart way to do it.
If i do it like that, i need to copy the whole table and paste it inside the if statements.
I have two xml elements that I need to make the decisions on. POH_PO_TYPE & CP_RELEASE_NUM.
POH_PO_TYPE can be: STANDARD, RELEASE or BLANKET.
    CP_RELEASE_NUM can be: '' or N
If POH_PO_TYPE is RELEASE AND CP_RELEASE_NUM is not ''
    OR POH_PO_TYPE is STANDARD
OR POH_PO_TYPE is BLANKET AND CP_RELEASE_NUM is ''
THEN show table (which contains the whole PO).
It shall show the content of the PO in any of these cases.
    BR Kenneth

  • How to round numbers in RTF templates?

    Hello!
I'm using BI Publisher for Word (Oracle BI Publisher Builder for Word 10.1.3.4.1) to build a template to my BI Publisher report and I want to calculate this:
    avg(X)/(avg(Y)-avg(Z)/0.9)
The result should be rounded to 3 places.
    I tried:
    <?(sum(X) div count(X)) div ((sum(Y) div count(Y)) - (sum(Z) div count(Z)) div 0.9)?>
and I obtained the expected result.
But, when I try to round in this way:
    <?xdofx:round((sum(X) div count(X)) div ((sum(Y) div count(Y))-(sum(Z) div count(Z)) div 0.9),3)?>
I obtain 0 when is expected other value.
    Can someone help me?

    Hi ,
You can select the number format in RTF template .Double click the Form Field select
    Type :Number
    Number Format :#,##0.000
    Thanks.
