Template with data variables will not insert ampersand

Dear clever people
I have an illustrator template (saved as .ai) which contains some text boxes and some images. I have tagged these as text and linked file dynamics, so that I can create a series of files with slightly different text and pictures when I load a variable library from an xml file.
My problem - some of my text routinely includes ampersands and whenever I try and load a variable libaray containing "&" I get an error message saying "The filter cannot complete because of an unkown error."
Is there some way I can explain to Illustrator what an ampersand is, and that refusing to insert it into my template is not the sort of helpful behaviour expected of a computer application?
I'm using illustrator 10.0.3 with windows xp.

Not sure, but sounds like a coding problem. The usual way to avid these is to "escape" characters by preceding them with a backslash in the source database/ document. \& might therefore work. Another way is to enclose it in quotes "&". Dunno, I came here for help myself, but these are generic programming tips that may work.

I'd contact their support to find out if there is a Mac driver available, and if they can either give you a web link to get it, e-mail you the software, or snail-mail you a standard-size disk with the drivers.

Widget will not insert

Working with Dreamweaver and Flash software. Using a template, couldn't get flv videos to insert correctly, got a white blank box at the tested website. Finally downloaded widget as a solution, now widget will not insert. It appears on the insert menu, I put the cursor in the insertion point and click on widget, and nothing happens. I don't get the pop up widget box, I get nothing. At my wits end. Please help. Working on thesis project and deadline coming up soon.

After I posted, I noticed a similar post below. Couldn't reinstall Dreamweaver as I have a thesis project I've been working on for awhile stored there. Saw the fix to go to preferences and general and the problem was on the unchecked box to show dialog upon insertion. Once I checked that box, the widget pop up worked. Can't believe I have spent hours of wasted valuable time trying to figure this out. Thanks!

Date Book will not sync

My device is a Treo 650. I can sync the address book, to do, and memos, but the date book will not sync. The HotSync program hangs. Using Palm Desktop by Access 6.2.2 with Win XP Pro SP 3. Oddly enough, this only happens on my home computer, with the sync working fine on my office computer. Any suggestions?

Statistic report with figures that will not change when rerun months later

Hi,
Is there any good practices that we can follow to create statistic reports with figures that will not change even when rerun after few months later?
My scenario is my statistic report is generated based on data that is "alive" which means the record will get change after a period of time. So, if you generate the statistic report in for January 2006 in the month of January and regenerate in May for the January 2006 statistic, the figure is different. But what I want is to be able to get the same figures.
I know in this case looks like we need some sort of summary tables, so posting this to get advice on the best way to design such summary tables. Please comment if there is other ways of doing it.
Summary tables may work for statistic report, but how to support detail report listing where the records are required to be the same when it was generated few months ago.

What happens, when you execute a report today is the following: a select statement is fired at the data base and the result set is displayed in the report. The data can change after the moment you launched your report. What you could do to keep the result set the same, is implementing a user parameter that fills your date discriminator.

In the advanced tab of languages and Region the time and date formats will not change

For a certian Application I am using I need to change the format of the Time and Date. I had no problems in Mountain Lion. In the advanced tab of languages and Region the time and date formats will not change. I need the date format to read as 01/01/14 and time format to read 13:00. As I said this was easily done in Mountain Lion and all previous Apple OS. I suspect it's an issue with in the OS.

You're right, it has been that way for a long time. I've never bothered reporting it as a bug since it's simple enough to deal with, but reporting it would be a reasonable thing to do.

I have had this problem for close to a year. I have an Extreme base station, two Airport Express's and multiple G4 Mac's with up to date software. I have spent a huge amount of time trouble shooting, resetting, reapplying software and finally calling Applecare without any help. It would be great to get this problem solved.

Here is a recent post I assembled for a similar question:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta. Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion). While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
Workarounds:
1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
2. If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PowerPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;
3. Upgrade your software to Intel compatible versions if they are available, or find alternative software that will open, modify and save your data files;

The #rdn# is a url variable that is pass to this form from
another page. I put it in a hidden filed and originallly used it as
from.rdn. That did not make a difference, so I just used rdn.
The cfoutput to display the rdn, partnumberid,

I will remove the crparam and see if that makes any

I have precisely the same problem. The Mac mini will not see the iPhone in iTunes, Disk Utility or Image Capture. My MacBook Air, with a different iTunes library cannot see it either but they can both see my iPad & iPods.
I have tried restarting the computer with only the iPhone connected via USB. No help. I do not see the point in re-loading iTunes if my other machine cannot see it but can see other iOS devices.
All software is up to date on machines & iOS devices.

I'd recommend you delete the URL to your homepage which is causing the problem via Tools | Options | General and then go to the MSN homepage again and click the button "Use Current Page".
MSN may have changed the coding in the URL which is causing Firefox to load an outdated page with your current settings.

I have a class that is instantiated as hhgrab, it has an
array declared like:

In my MXML file, I bind that array to a datagrid like:

But I am given a warning that says "Data binding will not be

I googled this and saw that this alert is thrown when a
variable was not declared as bindable, but mine is. Could this be a

I just upgraded to the latest version of iTunes and it duplicated virtually every track in my music library. I need a quick way to delete the duplicates. Sorting by "Date Added" will not help because they are all listed as added on 12/12/2011.

My Ipod will sync with itunes but will not download newly purchased songs. It is Ipod nano 2nd gen.

If you want to use automatic syncing, you may need to set up or update the iPod's Music sync settings in iTunes. If the new songs are not included in what gets synced to the iPod, they will not sync.
If the sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. The iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES. Select it there, to show its Summary screen to the right. Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons, starting with Summary. Click on Music next to Summary. This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music, if not already checked. This is the "switch" to enable automatic syncing for songs.
NOTE: If Sync Music is not already checked, that means the iPod is currently set to Manually manage music. Setting up automatic syncing will replace the iPod existing content. If you want to add the new songs manually to the iPod (instead of using automatic syncing), please post back.
If your iTunes library fits on the iPod, you can choose the option to sync Entire music library. Otherwise, choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Below that, select (checkmark) what you want to sync to the iPod from the lists.
One convenient way to set this up is to first create one or more playlists in your iTunes library, with ALL of the songs you want on the iPod. Or you can use existing playlists. Back on the iPod's Music screen in iTunes, select those playlists under Playlists.
When you click Apply, iTunes syncs the songs in your selection(s) to the iPod (replacing its existing content). Going forward, to update the iPod, you can just update those playlists in your iTunes library (add/remove songs). If you have new songs, add them to a playlist that is synced to the iPod. The iPod does not need to be connected. The next time you connect the iPod (or click Sync if already connected), iTunes automatically updates your iPod with the same changes.
