Templates Export
Ok after my post and reading the threads I see iMovie Templates like "Baby Mobile" can not be used in SP. Here is a project for an expert.
1. If I build the Baby mobile in iDVD,
2. How to export to Quicktime or something
3. Pull template into SP, add buttons, etc..
Step 2 is what I need help with.
Nothing like a challenge here, and a Redskins win, to get my juices flowing.
Set up your iDVD "template" and save it to disk image. No after edits allowed except using MPEG-2 software.
One could use the MPEG-2 Playback Component and MPEG Streamclip to "convert" to .dv format.
Snapz Pro could also be use to "capture" the playback using VLC Player.
Neither is easy or cheap.
But, anything you view or hear on your Mac can be captured.
I tried opening the .themes files (inside the iDVD app) but they are a lot different from other (Keynote) .theme files.

Templates exporting w/o markup
HI,
I'm working on uploading my first template based site and
when I go to modify - templates - the drop down options are greyed
out...all except update pages. My searching for an answer so far
has given me the basic directions I'm not able to follow because of
the greyed out options. What might I have done wrong?
thanks, Sue> What extra work am I creating?
Make a change to the template and you would have to EXPORT
all the files
without markup again. Plus, you cannot use the files on the
site as a gold
standard since they now have no template markup. Plus you
have just
committed yourself to duplicate sites - one with template
markup and one
without. Like that.
Just leave it in the files....

Just pretend you did. The suggestion is misguided. I can't
think of a
single scenario where doing this would have any real benefit.

Hi I am using 10.10.1 Yosemite with numbers Version 3.5, in templates I have used education attendance template and have tried to export to Excel and CSV
the checkbox which records the attendance and adds total at bottom of sheet disappears and turns into the word false in excel and CSV?
Can this spreadsheet templates be export or am I missing something? Any Help appreciated. ThanksHi David,
The Checkbox is a Format. Excel doesn't support that format, so the export substitutes the logic state of the Checkbox. A workaround would be to us something like an "X" where you want to indicate a selection, then test for the X with an IF-statement in the cells that reference it. Excel would support that.

Project 2007 (with server) - Visual reports custom templates export problem
Hi,
someone fimiliar with this situation?
While creating
and saving a new template in visual report using Project Professional 2007, some of the reports that was saved as template lose connection between Project cube and Excel.
Those reports include Enterprise global custom fields, and on the first few times I open them (on different computers) it works fine but later some of the report
templates won’t open, and error messages are received.
Those are the steps I did to reproduce the problem:
When I create the template I used “New template” and then I added the fields (some of the templates are “Task usage” based, and some “Task summary” based).
Then when I try to open it later…
Step 1 –Open the template
Step 2 – the export gets stuck –
Step 3 – if I check the excel that was opened I get error messages -
Step 4 – another error message (after clicking OK on the previous one)
When clicking OK or Cancel the excel is closed
Step 5 – when going back to check visual reports on project another error appears
Ofir Marco , MCTS P.Z. ProjectsEasily fixed. Just take the Excel.exe file and copy/paste from your Program
Files/Microsoft Office/Office14 folder to the Office12 folder.
As near as I can tell, Project is looking for the file in Office12.
I think you also need to restart Project after doing so.

Which way you do export ? Via WAD->Button->command EXPORT ?

When a WWI template is exported using CG54, is there a table that stores the number of the poscript file created by export processi.e.: 0000000*.ps.
ThanksHello Raynald
the number is taken from number range object CVD_EXPORT, interval 01
(if you use the DOKX export)

Hi,
We would like our web templates exported into PDF format. Is this possible? If so, does anyone have instructions? Thanks! There is a white paper on the BW Info Index about this.
It basically involves using the full version of Adobe Acrobat, which allows you to create a pdf from a URL. I've had varying degrees of success with this. You don't get much control over formatting. Process is also difficult to automatate.
Hope this helps.

How do I remove the template from my template based pages?
Here is the deal... I'm using Dreamweaver 8 and every page in
my site is based off a Dreamweaver template. My site has gotten so
big that I am going to ditch the template now and use PHP includes
for the header and footer sections of the site. In order to do this
I need to delete the locked template code in all of my pages and
replace it with the PHP includes. The problem is that it won't let
me do this in Dreamweaver even when I'm in code view. I try to copy
all of the light gray code (which is the locked template code) and
delete it but it just won't let me. I know there must be a way to
do this, but how?EXPORT the site without template markup using MODIFY |
Templates > Export
without markup.

Csv-export with dynamic filename ?
I'm using the report template "export: CSV" to export data to a csv-file. It works fine with a static file name. Now, I would like to have a dynamic file name for the csv-file, e.g. "ExportData_20070209.csv".
Any ideas ?Ran,

Templates from Dreamweaver used in frontpage
I just finished making a website for a client. One of the things he wants is to be able to edit it himself, including the spry menu I put in. The thing is, he uses Frontpage. I was wondering if it's going to be possible for him to just open the template I made in Dreamweaver in Frontpage and he'll be able to make changes sitewide? Or is there a conversion I can do?
thanks patrick..... thats good to know.
altho essentially the client wouldnt need to open the motion project again once delivered ( we would be delivering a template file to be used only in FCP 6.0.2)
I presume that the template file could be imported into FCP 6 with no problems - and that the updates to motion wouldnt affect the template cause that is a standalone file? and once exported would bake in any shaodws/reflection etc.
essentially the question is - will motion templates exported from motion 4 work on FCP 6.0.2 when there is an outdated copy of motion on the machine or possible even no motion at all.
Has FCP 7 had any update or improvements that would mean that we could use these master templates here on FCP 7 and then we deliver it and everything goes 'error' when the bbc attempt to load it onto their older fcp! -
Hi,
I am using Export to PDF/excel option in WAD 7.O, when i am exporting the web temp, it is exporting successfully, but
1. It is not displaying template heading
2. Icons - variable screen, filter, query information, print, export to PDF and export excel are coming in PDF document. User dont want to see this icons in generated PDF document.
Thanks,
HemanthHi Hemanth,
1. Since you have used MIME objects directly in your template, these actually shouldn't reflect in your exported PDF - normally, images have to be inserted into a 'Report' webitem for them to be visible in the PDF output.
Pinting PDF with Logo in WAD
You can try inserting your MIME objects in a 'Report' webitem & NOT binding them instead in the Export to PDF Data Binding properties.
2. Now that you have used a Text webitem for your template heading, you simply need to select the webitem under Export To PDF command settings i.e. I assume you to be using Command 7 APIs i.e. Command Wizard -> Commands for Web Templates -> Export Web Application [EXPORT] -> Data Binding -> Web Item -> choose your Text webitem here.

Building out a template for email notifications
I am working on an email template for emails Managers will receive when someone submits an Urgent Change Control. I am struggling with the some of the fields in the Change Request getting them into the email to the Managers. I want to include as much information
about the Change Request as I can so they can Approve or Reject from the email by replying to the Service Manager mailbox, and do not have to use the Console to see the details.
I am in the Templates node under Administration --> Notifications
Below is just a sample of my template so you can see what I am doing.
Message body
Change request $Context/Path[Relationship='CustomSystem_WorkItem_Activity_Library!System.WorkItemContainsActivity' SeedRole='Target' TypeConstraint='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Property[Type='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Id$: $Context/Path[Relationship='CustomSystem_WorkItem_Activity_Library!System.WorkItemContainsActivity'
SeedRole='Target' TypeConstraint='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Property[Type='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Title$, created by $Context/Path[Relationship='WorkItem!System.WorkItemCreatedByUser' TypeConstraint='System!System.User']$?$DisplayName$?, requires your
approval.
You can complete this request by replying to this message with [Approved] or [Rejected] in your message body (note the brackets).
Alternatively, you can complete the request by looking up Review Activity $Context/Property[Type='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Id$ under the Activity Management views in the Service Manager Console and manually approving or rejecting it there.
Title:
$Context/Path[Relationship='CustomSystem_WorkItem_Activity_Library!System.WorkItemContainsActivity' SeedRole='Target' TypeConstraint='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Property[Type='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Title$
Change Request Description:
$Context/Path[Relationship='CustomSystem_WorkItem_Activity_Library!System.WorkItemContainsActivity' SeedRole='Target' TypeConstraint='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Property[Type='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Description$
Start and End dates:
$Context/Path[Relationship='CustomSystem_WorkItem_Activity_Library!System.WorkItemContainsActivity' SeedRole='Target' TypeConstraint='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Property[Type='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/ScheduledStartDate$
$Context/Path[Relationship='CustomSystem_WorkItem_Activity_Library!System.WorkItemContainsActivity' SeedRole='Target' TypeConstraint='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/Property[Type='WorkItem!System.WorkItem']/ScheduledEndDate$
Now I can include things like the Title of the Change Request, The Description and Start and End Dates but I would like to add other fields such as:
On the Planning tab
Implementation Plan
Risk Assessment Plan
Test Plan
Back out Plan
When I click on Insert in the template builder, I get a list of items I can select. I have been experimenting with all different selections and nothing seems to work. Is it even possible to capture these fields in a Change Request into an email. I have done
things like copy the text from fields that do work like "Title" and then replaced /Title$ with something like /Backoutplan$ but that doesn't work.Yes, it's possible. I have no idea if it can be done with the out of the box notification template wizard, though..
You're interested in the change request class, not the work item class. The CR class inherits from the WI class, but the properties you want are defined on the CR class. Therefore, the relationship paths you're using need to be restricted to the CR class
via the Type Constraint. To get the CR's implementation plan property, for example:
$Context/Path[Relationship='CustomSystem_WorkItem_Activity_Library!System.WorkItemContainsActivity' SeedRole='Target' TypeConstraint='CRLib!System.WorkItem.ChangeRequest']/Property[Type='CRLib!System.WorkItem.ChangeRequest']/ImplementationPlan$
The trick is making sure the CRLib reference exists in your management pack. CRLib is just an alias for the System.WorkItem.ChangeRequest.Library management pack reference.
So, when you update your notification template, export the management pack that it's defined in and make sure you add that reference. Re-import the MP and test the notification. -
Export SQL query from link or button
I want to list several 'canned' SQL queries on one page as buttons or links; and have the result of selection be an immediate extract/download to excel of the data.
How can I best do this?
I suppose I could create separate hidden regions with their own reports that could somehow be referenced in the link. I would like to avoid doing all that, if I can create a package or process that includes the SQL query and that can be called in the link.
Thanks in advance,
Rich
Edit:
Found 'Report Query' functionality in Apex v3.2.1: However I am unable to get this to work; tells me my printer is not set up. I don't want to print the detail, I want it to be downloaded into excel... I don't have a printer configured - & don't want to. The URL provided for download as attachment is:
f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:PRINT_REPORT=reportname
I also have no page 0.
Help?
