Templates loosing formatting!!!!!

Hi,
We are using SAP BPC v7 SP4 on Excel 2007. On some of our templates (which has multiple complex sheets) we are loosing all thw formatting when we save via eTools. This means we basically loose all out work, because reformatting just takes too long (these are 8000 line input sheets).
Can someone please explain to me why this is happening and how i can prevent it from happening.
Regards,
AvdB

Hi,
Since you seem an experienced format user, let me please ask a question related to formatting.
I'm experiencing problems with the format (EvDRE). When we try to apply a color background for specific columns -not rows- (QUARTER or YEAR), the report applies a different color (not the one that is on the FORMAT cell in the RANGEFORMAT).
Do you know why? How can I solve this?
I've also tried to use xlEdgeRight, XlEdgeLeft for BORDER formatting in the USE column, but it does not work. By any chance, do you know how to correctly write these parameters?
Thanks in advance,

  • Calculated Percentage Columns in Pivot Table loose formating in Excel

    I have a simple report built using pivot table ( OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0)
    1 Metric and 1 dimension using pivot table. and I duplicated the metric column and change it to % column.(Show data as % of column). SO far so good. Below is the snapshot
    http://tinypic.com/r/2s14xa9/7
    Now i download the report in excel and all the % values are messed up . Below is how it looks
    http://tinypic.com/r/bede90/7
    I tried messing with data formats etc..nothing works.. I cannot add a custom column format to the metric column since it will impact the derived % column.
    Is this a bug ?Any pointers ..
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Follow up this SR:
    SR 3-5060435331: Calculated Percentage Columns in Pivot Table loose formating in Excel
    Workaround: (not sure may be give a try)
    also give a try like below one then try to download it may work.
    In that % column -->add the below statement in the Custom CSS section of the column properties:
    mso-number-format:"\@"
    Refer snapshot here:
    http://i53.tinypic.com/a09kqv.jpg
    This will treat the data in the column as text while downloading to excel, hence retaining any leading or trailing spaces.
    Thanks

  • I Need all Documentation Templates / Blank Formats during 5 phases of SAP

    Hi Friends,
    When we just start SAP implementation afresh. Then we also keep doing lots of documentation (and that too according to what & how SAP suggests). This we do in a phase-wise and in a proper systematic order.
    I need all those blank forms or formats or templates (whatever we call them) which are used from PreProject survey / study / analysis to Project-Preparation to BluePrinting to Project-Realization uptill Go-Live phase.
    These templates / Blank Formats are in MS-Word or MS-Excel sheets.
    I need all these documents templates / Blank Formats because they contain relevant fields to fill-in while implementing an SAP Project.
    Can anybody please provide me all those Templates / Blank Documents because I do not have access to SAP Sevice MarketPlace NOR to SAP Solution Manager.
    I will definitely give full points at my disposal.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Div looses formatting when made editable in a template

    I am creating a template and as I work my way down the page when I select the fifth div to make editable the whole page transforms and this div area changes to no css formating. Is there anything I should notice different about this div...it works fine otherwise. Thanks

    Without seeing your test page, it's impossible to offer solid layout advice.
    Ordinarily, I don't like to add extra divs unless there is some clear reason for it. I generally use floated paragraphs or lists as containers for items. In mobile & portrait tablets, I can remove the floats and it seems to work pretty well.

  • EDI Templates for Format Builder

    Can anyone point me to a good resource where I can grab edi templates that can
    be imported into format builder? Does bea have a repository of EDI templates in
    MFLformat already? Specifically, I'm looking for EDI 843 Response to Request for
    Quotation
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    small question - in case your question will not be answered:
    Why do you want to use SAPWebConsole?
    (the architecture ist out of time and wont be supported in the future by SAP).
    ITSmobile is the future for live/synchron RF transactions for mobile devices.
    Here the skills are not so high - just HTML is necessary.
    Here you can change the styles very simple over the integration of CSS.

  • How to save to .doc or .rtf without loosing formatting

    Hi, I have to submit academic assignments with either .doc or .rtf file extensions. However, in the University there is a protocol for headers and footers so that the assignment is anonymous and when quoting from reference documents we have to indent paragraphs. When writing this is pages and exporting to .doc or .rtf all of the formatting gets lost. If I submit these without the right formatting, I will get marked down. They will not accept .pdf, which works OK - how can I save in .doc or .rtf without loosing the formatting?

    Hi Peter Breis, you have suggested soemthing that works which is the first line and left paragraph indents but this still does not work with tabs. The .rtf is not a solution becaue of the need for headers and footers (with pages numbers). In the .rtf file they just appear at the end of the text rather than a header and footer.
    Anyway, in summary, thank you Peter, you have given me a solution that works which is to indent using first line and left paragraph indents and to export into a .doc document. The headers and footers export without a problem using this method. I will nominate all the extra marks that I will get from following the University's protocol to you!, Thanks!

  • Mapping Template : Loosely Coupled or hard Coupled

    Hi All
                I m using mapping template for graphical mappng. I have the following doubts:-
         1. Whether the mapping template is loosely coupled or tight coupled , i mean whether it picks the template at run time or the fields are filled one time only.
         2. If we use the mapping template and afterwards do some changes in the mapping template then whether the changes gets reflected in the mapping program or not?
          3. Can we change some fields of the mapping templates used in the mapping program after impoting that template? ( Here changes means changes in the mapping program )
         Regards
             Amit

    hi,
    >>  Whether the mapping template is loosely coupled or tight coupled , i mean whether it picks the template at run time or the fields are filled one time only.
    i dnt know whether this is a standard term or not but in these terms i think it is " tight" coupled.
    >>  If we use the mapping template and afterwards do some changes in the mapping template then whether the changes gets reflected in the mapping program or not?
    No changes dont get reflected automatically if u change the template after assigning it in a mapping program.
    >> Can we change some fields of the mapping templates used in the mapping program after impoting that template
    It becomes a complete separate mapping program altogether even if u use a template. template is only to save ur time of designing mapping it does not contain references at run time. u can change this mapping program at anytime u want.
    [reward if helpful]

  • Epub template for formatting photos and text ebook

    I have formatted a Pages ebook that I want to make into an epub. I used floating photos and shawdows, and background color page, looks good in pdf, but won't convert.
    Is there a template (other than the boring one on Apple - or having to purchase Design) that I can use and transfer (photos inline) Pages? Thanks!

    Good you found the right page. The link is right but it changes to another one. I have tried again nad it should work but it seems that Apple redirect the link.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4168
    It seems if you actively copy and paste the link it works but if you just click on the link redirects to the page you saw.!!! Nor can I today get rid of the underlining!!!!

  • Journal Template: amount format

    Hi,
    I would like change amount format of Journal Template. For example, add "." to separate thousands. Are there any web parameter to change this? How can I change it?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Fernando.

    Hi,
    I think there is no specific area to set the amount format for Journals in BPC tool, but ultimately we will see the
    reports right?  So can define the required format in Report Templates.

  • DOM nodes serialized using LSSerializer.writeToString() looses formatting

    Hi All,
    I am trying to serialize DOM nodes into a serialized string, and facing the below problem,
    where I am loosing all the formatting ( new lines, spaces ) in the process.
    Basically here is how the whole process can be outlined:
    1. I take a formatted xml request sample String:
    <Batch>
    <Request1>
    <Content>abc</Content>
    </Request1>
    <Request2>
    <Content>efg</Content>
    </Request2>
    </Batch>
    2. Feed it into a Dom parser to parse the xml string and convert it into DOM objects
    public void parse( String xmlModel ) throws Exception {
              if( xmlModel == null ){
                   throw new Exception( "No xml model string was supplied for parsing");
              else{
                   this.xmlModel = xmlModel;
              // Now try building the document
              try{
                   DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
                   dbf.setNamespaceAware(true);
                   //parse the xml file.
                   DocumentBuilder parser = dbf.newDocumentBuilder();
                   parser.setErrorHandler(new ErrorHandlerImpl());
                   // ByteArrayInputStream extends from inputstream
                   InputStream is = new ByteArrayInputStream(xmlModel.getBytes());
                   setDoc(parser.parse(is));
    ( Continued in 3 .... )
    3. Then once the Document Object Model is ready, I try to serialize the object
    using the LSSerializer API interface to convert the DOM Node to an XML string,
    as below in the method implementation continued from above ..
    ( Continued from above here .... )
                   //write the output to the specified String variable
                   DOMImplementation impl = doc.getImplementation();
                   DOMImplementationLS implLS = (DOMImplementationLS) impl.getFeature("LS","3.0");
                   LSSerializer writer = implLS.createLSSerializer();
                   writer.getDomConfig().setParameter("error-handler",new DOMErrorHandlerImpl());
                   // This is to suppress the xml header, with version and the encoding being automatically generated
                   writer.getDomConfig().setParameter("xml-declaration", false);
    4. Assume the Node object got from the main DOM object is represented as "node"
    and if we try
    // Basically calling - LSSerializer.writeToString( Node node )
                   String xmlSerialized = writer.writeToString(node);
    System.out.println(xmlSerialized);
    The output would look like this:
    <Batch> <Request1> <Content>abc</Content> </Request1> <Request2> <Content>efg</Content> </Request2> </Batch>
    Basically lost all the formatting.
    Can someone suggest how to fix this ?
    Thanks

    I'm having the same problem. I think it's a bug with the LSSerialized. My code:
        Document doc = myElement.getOwnerDocument();
        ProcessingInstruction pi = doc.createProcessingInstruction(
            "xml-stylesheet",
            String.format(" type=\"%s\" href=\"%s\"", type, href));
        doc.insertBefore(pi,doc.getFirstChild());returns the following xml:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <windsor><queen favorite-dog="corgis"><name>Elizabeth</name><count>II</count></queen></windsor><?xml-stylesheet  type="text/xsl" href="mystylesheet.xsl"?>Interestingly, if I print out the nodes in order, using this code:
    NodeList nl = doc.getChildNodes();
        for(int i = 0 ; i < nl.getLength() ; i++) {
          System.out.println("NODE: " + nl.item(i));
        }They are in the correct order:
    NODE: [xml-stylesheet:  type="text/xsl" href="mystylesheet.xsl"]
    NODE: [windsor: null]I think I'm going to have to switch to using the transform framework for output serialization. sigh

  • Convert contents of a pdf without loosing formating

    Is it possible to open a pdf file and copy or convert the contents of that pdf file into a ms access memo field without loosing the formating of the original pdf file? If anyone has a solution it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    That all depends on how the document was created. If it has the tagging that PDF Maker adds to the file, then you may be successful. In that case, simply save to a DOC file and see if it retained it's form. If that does not work, you can sometimes get partial success by saving to an HTML file instead and then importing the HTML into WORD.
    The better solution is to try to find the original file to copy from, not the PDF.

  • JDeveloper editor -  templates and formatting

    Hi,
    I'm trying to configure the default formatting and template options in JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 but I'm having trouble finding some of the options I need.
    1. How do I set the indentation for XML files? The default seems to be 2 spaces (I want 4). I appear to be able to set the indentation level for Java files, but I can't find a setting for XML files.
    2. How do I configure a 'skeleton template' that is used when creating new java files? For example, we have a standard file header (copyright notice, etc) that we want at the top of our Java files, so the 'New java file' template needs to have the header block included. Where should I look for this in the settings? I'd also hope to find skeleton templates for other Java members.
    Cheers!

    Is there any way to set the indent size for the xml files like the jspx, jsff files?
    Right now, in JDev, when I reformat, the indent is set as 1 space.
    I would like to set it to a tab of size 4.
    Does anyone know how to do this?
    Also, I am talking only about XMl. I already have fixed the java formatting.
    Thanks,

  • Pages created from template not formatted in FireFox browser

    Using Dreamweaver CS5 I redesigned a web site with all pages now created from a master template.  The result is that the site displays properly in IE, but not in FireFox.  See the www.lbtscic.com site.  It checked out OK in the Browser Lab for all browsers, but shows as mostly unformatted in the latest FireFox .
    A side problem is that changes in the master template do NOT show up in the pages created from that template.  When I make a change in the template the details show that it checked all the appropriate pages, but changed none.  Need Help!
    Bob Roberts

    The linked page looks the same to me in IE9/Safari5.1/FF3.6.23, and it looks broken in all of them - the content region is wider than the banner image.
    Here are seven common mistakes that will result in changes not propagating from Template to child -
    1.  Rename the Templates folder
    2.  Move the Templates folder to some other folder level in the site other than root level
    3.  Move a template out of the Templates folder.
    4.  Make changes to an editable region of the Template (which will not propagate)
    5.  Assume that Template changes will be effected by just uploading the changed Template file to the server without also uploading the changed local files
    6.  Corrupt the site cache so that the link between Template and child page is broken
    7.  Improperly create your child pages by simply opening the Template, adding page specific content, and resaving the Template with an *.html extension rather than its *.dwt extension. (you can tell if this is the case by looking at the code on a child page - if you see anything like <!-- TemplateBeginEditable... then this is what you have done).  If you *have done this*, then recreate the child pages (in DW) using FILE | New > Page from Template, select the Template and click CREATE.
    The 6th problem can be repaired by using SITE | Advanced > Recreate Site Cache, and the six others can be fixed by just not doing them.  Have you done any of those?
