Templates not showing & unknown publishing error

I have been unable to publish my site, even to a folder and I think the problem could be related to the fact that the templates are not showing (though when I pick one, it works) and the pdf on "getting started" says something like "not available". Do I have to get rid of the published site that I am replacing also, although I do think that is not the problem since I cannot publish to a folder.

Try the following:
Quit iWeb
Delete the iWeb preference file Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWeb.plist.
Restart you Mac and run Disk Utility to repair permissions.

HELP - unknown publisher error

In preparation of my new iphone turning up tomorrow - thought would download itunes. Never used it before. 3 hrs in and still not installed!! Keep getting Unknown Publisher Error. Things I've tried so far: using Mozilla instead of IE. Emptying Temp folder. Downloading QT separtately. Numerous restarts. Help me please!!!

You've been doing the sensible things with your troubleshooting, lee.
How are you connecting to the internet?
For example, my Lenovo T61 is connecting wirelessly to a LinkSys WRT54G wireless router that is plugged into a Motorola SB5100 Surfboard cable modem.
What sort of setup do you have?

Unknown publishing error

I am publishing to a folder so that I can publish to a server that is not memobile. Everything has been working fine until one day I was publishing updates to my folder and all I get now is unknown publishing error. I deleted the page that it was stalling out on and still get the error. I took out the updates and still get the error. Any ideas here. I NEED to get this working right again.

Quit iWeb.
Delete the iWeb preference file - Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWeb.plist.
Restart your Mac.
Run Disk Utility to repair permissions.
Launch iWeb and try publishing again.
Don't forget to reset your iWeb preferences.
If all this doesn't help, you may have a corrupt domain file.

"Unknown Publisher" error message during installation

Ok, I have tried for several days and even got ahold of Microsoft on this issue. Every time i go to download Itunes the download is ok, but when it goes to install Itunes, I ALWAYS get "Unknown Publisher" error message and installation is cancelled. How do i resolve this issue? Any ideas?????

Some folks have had success by downloading and installing QuickTime standalone, then installing itunes after QT. iTunes needs QT codecs to play audio & video.

URL links do not show once published

Links added in PSM do not show once published. The links lists shows and works in preview but fail to appear in iTunes when published.

Quirky Version of "Unknown" Publish Error

I hadn't published any blog entries since upgrading to iWeb '09. Tried to do so, got that lovely "unknown" error (every time of countless attempts). Followed suggestions set out in previous threads (delete .plist, run permissions, update using Combo, restart, run permissions, create new site, etc.). I was able to move everything (with the aid of "Duplicate", huzzah) to the new site and get that published. Save for the blog, which is remaining adamant as regards moving (I even deleted the newest entry and still no go).
As much as I loathe adding to the "unknown publish error" furor, I'm feeling a bit confused.
I would be grateful for suggestions....

Copy-and-paste, laborious but works.

Firwfox will not download using Windows vista - shows unknown publisher

The unknown publishers issue seems to hinge on an problem with the digital signature. The error message is as follows:
Internet explorer security warning
Windows has found a problem with this file.
Name: itunessetup.exe
Publisher: unknown publisher
This file was blocked because it does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher
The reason I was downloading Firefox in the first place was that I have this same issue when trying to dowwload i-tunes. One of the support groups suggested that downloading i-tunes through Firefox avoided this issue.

Are you downloading and saving the files to a folder on the computer?
Don't click the Run button in IE to run the program directly, but save the file to your hard drive.

Internet download - unknown publisher error message

Hi
I am having problems when I download from the internet, I get a windows error message saying unknown publisher, also my internet pages show error on page, some of the page is missing or it is full of rubbish. This has only been happening for the last few days, but it is appears on every download, I have tried to restore but it only goes back 5 days.

thanks for your response but I cannot download Firefox, I have reduced my security settings, disabled the antivirus and I am still getting the same message
I don't know what to do now other than through the thing out of the window, nearly every internet page has an error message now, or it just does not download properly, I have even tried saving the files to my desktop and running as the administrater but I am still getting the same message as before and then the programme just closes, I don't even get the option to download anyway.
does anyone no what should be ticked or unticked on my security settings??????????????????????????????????????

Unknown publish error?

Hi everyone
I've spent the last 12 hours trying to update my podcast but everytime I try to publish from iWeb 1.1.2 I get this:
*Publish error*
*An unknown error occured*
Also when I try to access the podcast page in firefox I get the page not found error, although I can open it via safari
Any idea what's going on? - I need to publish this podcast now as it's a competition which ends this week...

I had exactly the same problem but managed to resolve it. This is what I did:-
1. Go to to 'Go' menu in Finder and click 'Go to Folder'
2. Copy and past the following into the box: ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/
3. Drag the Domain file into the trash.
4. Restart iWeb and publish to .mac
The only problem is that this deletes the old site info. For me this didn't matter as I only used the site for holidays photos, but it is obviously more of a problem if you have a more substantual site.

Insert into viewobject in app module does not show entity validation errors

I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3 and ADF BC/ADF Faces. I want to have a button on one of page and I want that whenever user clicks on this button a records is inserted in a table. so I created an application module service method and exposed it on the client interface and the put it on my page using Data Controls Tab.
Here is some part of my code in application module :

When this method tries to insert a record which violates a validation rule in the Base Entity Object, the screen does not show any error regarding to violating the business rule but nothing is inserted. I changed my code and captured the exception around the commit and I found that a JBO-27023 Exception happened after commit ( which was very surprise since the page does not show any error).
Now I can change my code to to the following to show that error happened.

But I believe it shouldn't be like this. Normally, we should be able to insert programmatically in a view and if the business rules are violated we should get the violation error messages. If I use the above mentioned method we can not understand what business rules are violated.
Does anybody know what is wrong with my solution? I have seen a lot of times that using application module is the best way for adding functionality to the application pages but I really feel that something should be wrong if we can not get business rule violation messages.
Any help or references would be highly appreciated.

it should work without try-catch.
1. When you add try-catch, does your error message appear on the page?
2. Does your page contains af:messages component?
3. Does your button have any navigation to another page?

ITunes "unknown publisher" error

I tried to update iTunes to v8 via Apple Software Update but it failed due to some error with the updater. I uninstalled Apple Software Updater and also iTunes 7.1. I tried then to install iTunes 7.1 so I can re-download Apple Software Updater and I'm getting an error saying "unknown publisher" and even if I try in install iTunes 8 nothing at all is happening.
Any ideas?

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

Presenter 10 - theme info not showing in published video

Using Presenter 10 - when I publish a video using powerpoint my theme with presenter info and selected panes does not show. I start by going to power point and creating a custom theme within the presenter tab and check the presenter info and panes I want to show and press ok. I then hit record and it sends me to adobe presenter video express. I record the video and publish the project. However no theme shows in the final published video. Maybe adobe presenter was not meant to show theme information in a published video?

Presenter Video Express (APVE) does not use the theme for the PPT output. If you embed the MP4 in a PPT slide using Presenter, then publish it out it will have the theme wrapper around the PPT content, which contains your APVE video.
If you want to customize the theme in the APVE you can do that when editing your video in that tool.

Xml menu not showing in published html

Hi all my problem is that when iam trying to publish an flash
project containing a dynamic xml menu as html file ,the menu is not
showing although it is showing in the accompannying swf file,any
body knows the problem??

There is not enough here to know what you are doing.
Flash reads XML fine. You can then use that XML inside of
Flash to create menus (or any UI thing) using Flash objects such as
MovieClips and TextFields.
You will not be able to create HTML based menus as Flash does
not handle more than a few HTML tags via the TextField object.

Orchestral Template NOT showing up in Logic - on start! Ideas? Help?

I have the Orchestral Jam pack installed (MBP) but not all of them.
Am I missing something? The jam pack is installed but does not show up in my LOGIC TEMPLATE.

It does show up in loop browser but no templates, if missing a file can someone send? Is it on one of the discs?

Yup, just talked to Apple, will have to do the update again, or I could come in the Apple Store and copy the files from them, (which is why I asked) and will do if know one sends. The should be small, and on disc one, it doesn't list the templates, so would need to get Pacifist in which case from what I understand, if you don't know what you are doing you can make a real mess of things.

Captivate 7 Screen Captures (scrolling) not showing when published in HTML5

I am using Captivate 7 and when I publish in HTML5 my screen captures (of the screen scrolling) do not show -- I get a blank screen for a couple of seconds --, even though they show when I preview for the Web in HTML5. They also show when I play them locally, but not from my server. I was using Internet Explorer 9. This morning I tried 10 & 11 with the same results. It works fine in Chrome and on a Mac with Safari. I do not have my iPad with me today, but I tried it this weekend and had the same problem, though I just updated my OS, so I will try again. If it does not work well on an iPad then I might as well output as FLASH. I will try my iPad again tonight and report back tomorrow. Thanks.
