Templates supplied

I've opened the Invoice Template that came with Adobe, how to I view the
scripts that calculate the price info?
Thanks
Mark

In Designer 7.1, turn on the Script Editor under Window, select the object, and show Events with Script. This shows all script for that particular object.
In Designer 8+, click on form1 in the Hierarchy, and do the same. This shows all script for the entire document.

  • EQ Templates & Supplier Initiated eQs:  Optional versus Required

We are on v6.1.1.1 and have setup our Material Spec eQ with Spec Name and Ingredient Statement as required.  There is no selection for shelf life to be required or optional so that it is not rendered on the eQ.  The white paper on Supplier Initiated eQs states that all data, by default confiugration, is set to optional when the supplier initiates the eQ.  Supplier are currently getting unhandled exception error messages when the supplier submits a change on Supplier Portal.  The eQ is never rendered or emails send with the unique link.  We are wondering if the eQ template needs to have all fields selected as optional in order to render in supplier portal properly.  The documention on Admin, eQ User Guide, and Supplier Portal are all silent on this question.  Only the white paper, written before v6.1, mentions anything about optional versus required.  The specific questions are:
    1.  Does the eQ template require that all fields be selected as optional in order to work properly for Supplier Iniated eQs?
    2.  Does the supplier create tag that allows row selection in custom sections (we have added these to all of our custom sections and they are in our template) have any impact to the Supplier experience with Supplier Initiated eQs?
    Thank you for your time.
    Best, BeckieC

This sounds like a bug, suppliers should be able to initiate eQs regardless of what options are selected on the template.   Go ahead and submit an SR so support can investigate.
    To answer your other questions:
    1.  Does the eQ template require that all fields be selected as optional in order to work properly for Supplier Iniated eQs?
No, if the data is on the spec it will be included in the questionnaire.  Whether spec data is marked as optional or required for the supplier is decided by this config: <add key="EQ.SupplierInitiatedQuestionaire.EQItem.RequireSpecContents.Enabled" value="false"/>   Data that isn't controlled by the spec, like whether a supplier can create a breakdown, is controlled by the eQ template.
You can also add additional attributes to the template and they should be included in the questionnaire.  For example, lets say the spec has custom A, B, and C and the eQ template has custom section D.   A, B, C and D should appear on the questionnaire they initiate.  Another use case could be an allergen.   Lets say your specs has 12 allergens declared but allergen A is now required to be declared.  You would add allergen A to your template and it should be included with the specification data for the supplier to respond to.  Page 6 of the white paper discusses each field and where the data comes from.
    2.  Does the supplier create tag that allows row selection in custom sections (we have added these to all of our custom sections and they are in our template) have any impact to the Supplier experience with Supplier Initiated eQs?
It shouldn't have a negative impact.   If the section that they have create ability for is on the spec or template it should be included in the initiated questionnaire and the supplier be able to add custom section structure.

  • Can we load data using .xls in user define format(without using default template)

    Hi All,
I'm new bee to FDM. Part of HFM support i use FDM to load flatfile data. Just has a bit more knowledge than end user.
Requirement is that i need to load data from MS excel to Planning application via FDM.
Previously application is in Excel(Macro driven) and upstream(data) is also in Excel(multi tab).
As of my knowledge data can be loaded from .csv file(Excel save as CSV) with single tab.
Could you please let me know possibilities to load data from .xls(.xlsx) to FDM.
    Thanks in advance.

If you want to load data using Excel, utilising FDM's out-of-the-box functionality you will have to use one of the templates supplied i.e. Excel Trial Balance or Excel Multi-load template.

  • Supplier self-registration logo

Is there a possibility to add the company logo in the different supplier self-registration forms / pages?
I cannot seem to find a way to add the company logo...
    Thanks,
    Bram

    Hello,
I followed Vikram's suggestions using Themes - Branding to change the logo. That's what I did:
    - duplicated the default theme
    - flagged the custom theme as new default
    - opened Branding - Internal and External Templates - Supplier Registration left Logo
    - deleted former default entries regarding the SAP Sourcing logo
    - uploaded a logo file in PNG format (no image path given in a first attempt)
    - saved changes
Unfortunately this didn't work. As a result the upper left logo disappeared from the supplier registration page but the new logo didn't show up.
I also tried to upload the logo file into the file attachment container, giving it an image path here but it seems it's not possible to reference "internal" image files in "Branding". I also tried to enter the image path created in the file attachment container manually which also didn't work.
Did anybody face similar issues when changing the logo? Are there any limitations / specifications regarding version 7 or did I just miss something obvious?
    Any suggestion is very welcome.
    Regards,
    Florian

  • Santur Instrument template and pitch setup for every note

    1) Does anyone know if there is a "Santur" instrument (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santur)
template supplied by Apple or anyone for MainStage?
    2) Assuming there was one, does MainStage support setting up custom "pitch" control for "every note"?
I have a need to tune every note individually.

    Caramby wrote:
I think he means Custom Tuning.
Yep. I think he does too
I realise this is MainStage, but Tunings (Temperaments) are dealt with in the Logic Pro manual (p.948):
    User
+Each semitone can be detuned (moved away) from equal temperament in semitone steps. To do so, just click-drag—vertically—on each semitone box until the desired value is reached.+
The reason alternative tunings are mentioned in the Logic Pro manual (in the "Project Settings" section), and not in the Mainstage manual, is that they only apply to Logic projects. Mainstage does not directly support altered tunings.
The 'Persian Santoor' setting referred to by the previous poster is a Garageband 'Strings' instrument setting. This can be opened in the EXS24, both in Mainstage and Logic.
It may have been possible to alter the tuning of the individual samples within the EXS editor, but in this particular case, the samples are mapped across several semitones. I suspect that your need to alter the tunings may not be possible with this patch (without a lot of work).
Note that, although there is a button on the EXS interface, the EXS Instrument Editor cannot be opened within Mainstage; only in Logic.

  • Buggy LabVIEW Templates & Courses?

    Hi!
I am refering to the project templates supplied with the latest LabVIEW (e.g. Continuous Measurement and Logging Sample Project) and I am also refering to the LabVIEW Core 3 courses. All of these templates / best-practice courses use the Event-Driven Producer/Consumer Pattern. Unfortunately, they all look buggy to me, as controls are being disabled in the consumer loop and not in the event cases of the producer loop. To me this is simply buggy programming style as it allows the user to click multiple times on a button (because the button does not get disabled immediately) and this causes the event to fire multiple times which in turn means that the same command is enqueued multiple times instead of only once. This definitely leads to incorrect program behavior!
Well, I am neither a CLAD, nor a CLD, nor a CLA, nor a LabVIEW god but I just can't imagine how it is possible to put such buggy code in courses and put it in templates which are created by "experts" and are given as best-practice solutions. Please correct me if I'm wrong...
    Regards,
    Anguel

    Anguel,
Are you running into problems where multiple button clicks are being registered before the control disables? I'm unable to click twice anywhere near fast enough to beat the queue/dequeue operation. The infinitely quick double click may still register twice and relying on speed is not a good practice so from a conceptual standpoint you bring up a valid point and one we were aware of. As with any decision in programming there are trade-offs. We decided to disable controls in the consumer for one main reason.
The consumer loop is the keeper of state. If someone were to expand our templates or sample projects and wanted to handle events differently depending on the state then this logic would be in the consumer loop. The event structure's job is to catch that the event happened and delegate immediately. It's up to the consumer loop to decide what to do with that information.
e..g. the acquire button should be disabled when the acquisition is running, not when the acquisition is requested. If for some reason the application couldn't start (hasn't been configured yet, an error in initialization, the consumer loop has already exited, queue reference is bad) you don't want the UI to have automatically updated based on a hard coded assumption.
Another reason for doing it the way we did it is if there are multiple UIs (perhaps physical buttons, a remote control device, or an automated scheduler) that could request that the system start acquiring then we'd need to disable the local controls even though the event didn't fire.
We decided that these situations were more likely than someone being able to click fast enough to queue up multiple commands that would cause problems to the application. [On a related note I feel like relying on the disabled state of a control to ensure your program doesn't get into a bad state is not a best practice -- writing the Value (Signaling) property on a disable control will still fire the value changed event.  If recieving the event out of turn is catestrophic you should discard the errant event rather than trying to prevent it.]
I'll admit we're often guilty of over-hyping things like the sample projects but they are expert created starting points rather than solutions. For any concrete application there are certain tradeoffs we made that may or not make sense in that situation and it's up to the programmer to change those things. Over time we'll get better at documenting which tradeoffs need to be considered in certain situations.
We feel giving everyone a passable starting point for a well designed application is better than making everyone start with a blank VI.
I hope we can continue to have conversations like these. Best practices aren't set in stone, they evolve over time and I hope the templates and sample projects we provide will evolve as the state of the LabVIEW art does.
And to Mike -- I wholeheartedly agree and apologize about the state of examples in Example Finder - we've tried to make inroads with that this year and you should see some progress in that regard come August.

  • XML to InDesign, multiple versions of the same document

    Hi everyone,
I have a small project that I need help with.
I am working on an online survey for a client of mine; which consist of 10 odd pages of questions as well as free text entry on some of the questions. Some of the questions requires number input which then converted into charts (bar graphs etc.) Survey is done as a web app (using .NET and C# and MySQL) and resulting data converted into XML format in order to generate a report based on the answers that the members provide.
Currently XML data is imported into MSWord and report is generated as .docx file.
Client is not happy with the presentation of the word so I suggested that we can use InDesign to have a better look/feel of the report, using the same XML structure.
There are 1000+ members that need to take this survey, which means that report has to be generated for each client individually (different answers, total page numbers, branding and so on.)
I understand the basics of generating a book from XML to InDesign but I can't figure out how can I apply this workflow into producing 1000+ different copies.
Do I need to have 1000+ InDesign documents with SAME XML structure but DIFFERENT branding (different heading colours etc.) or is there a way to generate the reports with using a single InDesign template, supplying each member's survey results as a separate XML file and generate the report.
It would be great to know if the process can be automated such as :
    - Saving all the XML files (Survey answers) in a folder
    - Save all graphs for each client in a separate folder (e.g. /client_name/graphs)
    - Open InDesign and select the XML source file <- This is where I stuck. I can only imagine doing this work for every single member
    - Generate reports (saving as PDF documents)
I'll be happy to answer if you have any questions or need clarification.
    Any suggestions welcome
    Thanks

You probably want to look at InDesign's Data Merge feature.
Unfortunately it won't accept XML directly, so you'll have to convert your XML to CSV or TSV. But that's pretty easy to do.

  • Error when trying to run an FSG Report via XML Publisher...

    hello.
    Hope someone can help.
This is our first look into the benefits of XML Publisher in order convince Manager to start using it. Thing is, we really need to get both FSG reports and Dunning Letters working.
We've currently got XML Publisher 5.0.0 and BI Publisher Template Builder for Word v10.1.3.2.0
First up, FSG reports. Having followed this link here:
    http://solutionbeacon.blogspot.com/2007/07/simple-tutorial-for-publishing-fsg.html
Ive managed to create a template based upon the basic FSG template supplied. I’ve follwed easy steps but on submitting the request against ANY [its what the notes said] FSG report the error messages from both the log and output files are given.. Those being..
Output file displayed the most productive error message:
    DECLARE
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-06550: line 133, column 8:
PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'SUBMIT_XML_REQUEST'
    ORA-06550: line 133, column 5:
    PL/SQL: Statement ignored
Can anyone help please? Or perhaps suggest an alternative to running FSG reports through XML Publisher.
Other thought was, do I need any different versions and/or Publisher Enterprise installing?
    Many thanks for reading this..
    Steven

..having tried an alternative presentation I got a singular FSG report to generate in PDF via XML Publisher..

Learn how to use the Print module to bring your images into the spotlight and share with clients, friends or family. Also, see the new tools for making custom contact sheets and print packages.
    http://adobe.ly/wqFX7Y

I love Julieanne Kost’s videos.  The one on the print module did not mention some gotcha’s.  I find this module very frustrating.  I have thousands of pictures of wild horses and decided to print a few pages with photos of the right and left side of the horse to make it easier to identify the many pintos.  I made a grid of 4 x 2 cells on each page and then tried to drag and drop the photos from the film strip.  The first cell filled as expected but when I tried a different photo in the next cell it replaced the first cell’s photo!  I could not figure out what was going on.  I didn’t know you had to move the photos in the film strip to put them in the order I wanted.  I had only used the print module to print single photos and had not used collections before.  After spending a lot of time trying to find out what I was doing wrong I found out you couldn’t drag and drop in the Single image/ contact sheet layout!  This took over an hour.  I tried a different style only to find that the picture package would only use one picture.  Well, the custom package did what I wanted it to do.  Great, so now I needed to print the captions with the names of the horses and spent another hour trying to get that to print only to discover you could only do that in the Single image/ Contact sheet!  In that layout you can only have cells the same size with no mixing of portrait and landscape orientation!  Not only that, I only had a picture of one side of a few horses and couldn’t skip a cell in that layout so had to go to Photoshop and create a blank photo to use as a place holder.   I had to fill the bottom of a page with blank photos to get a new page if it didn’t want pictures in all the cells of a particular page.  This all caused me hours of frustration and pounding my head on the desk.  I tried going to the book module but couldn’t create an 8 photos per page like in the contact sheet layout.
Maybe you could tell us why we aren’t allowed to print captions in all of the layout styles and why we can’t drag and drop in all the layout styles in any order we want.  Why the Custom Layout style isn’t the only one.  Why all the templates supplied are not using the Custom Layout package.  Why is this so hard?

  • FM 10 TOC Issues! Help!

First, let me preface by saying I am an early-career writer that has taken a position with a company that had no prior tech pubs department or writers (first mistake?). I have had experience with FM 6 and 8, but this was at a larger company with established templates. My current company has no established templates or anyone to create them for me: I am the lone ranger here, and I have not used FM 10 before.
I discovered early on that the "standard" templates that come with FM 10 are garbage. I have managed to create some pretty decent chapter templates (lots of workarounds that I hope don't come back to bite me later on), so I decided to try and create a TOC for the book I created. Using the book TOC template supplied with FM, I have encountered a number of issues. Some of which I'm sure have to do with the fact I have never created templates in FM before.
    Issue #1
The auto-generated TOC marks every entry with a bullet and the page number is not separated from the heading with leading periods (..........):
My heading paragraph tags do not have a bulleted autoformat. I also verified that the Heading1TOC, Heading2TOC, and Heading3TOC paragraph tags do not have bulleted autoformats. After doing some research, it seems that the issue must be coming from the reference page (which I didn't know existed until today).
Here is what the reference page currently looks like for the TOC:
Interestingly, HeadingxTOC tags seem to be in the exact form I want, but they do not appear in the body pages that way! I have tried using the paragraph designer to add new tab stops with leaders for each of my entries, but the changes are never applied to the body pages. I can manually change the body pages, but once an Update Book is perfomed, all that formatting is replaced with the crap I'm trying to change. I have tried to manipulate this in so many ways to try and get what I want, but I have not been successful. Can someone please help show me the light?
    Issue #2
I'm not sure if this issue has been caused by my paragraph tags that I created, but I noticed that every heading (1, 2, and 3) that appears after a paragraph tag that has some autoformatted text associated with it (Table, Figure, Note, etc.), that autoformatted text appears in the TOC as if it is part of that heading!
Here is an example of what I'm talking about in the TOC:
Here is the corresponding place in the chapter:
This also happens even when there is another body paragraph separating the table from the next heading. Does anyone have any ideas about how to solve this problem?
If there are other FM 10 known issues, tricks, tips, or methods you'd like to share, please feel free to post them!!
    Thanks in advance,
    Smitty

    Hi Error,
Yes, I learned from trial and error (no pun intended) that the first two points you bring up do not work. However, the global update did work after I tweaked the settings a bit.
I think the issue might be coming from the Tab Stops. I'm not sure if this is normal behavior, but in the Paragraph Designer, my current tab stops look like this even though I have the 0.0" R tab stop applied to the selection:
Here is how I configured my customized tab stop:
    Anything here look fishy?
Also, am I supposed to have my cursor in a certain place when applying the tab stop in the RP of the TOC? I noticed that there are only tab spaces in the RP:

  • Captivate 4 crashes when recording

Captivate 4 crashes when recording additional slides - this happens when you press 'End' to stop recording and the files are being imported into Captivate. You then have to restart Captivate, open the project, close it again in an orderly fashion and re-open Captivate again before you can 'attempt' to record anything else or you receive the following message: "Another session of Adobe Captivate is currently recording.  Please close the other session of Adobe Captivate before trying to record."
Having searched the forum regarding this problem and found that many people have had the same issue - I have tried many of the things suggested but have not yet come across a method for fixing this issue once it occurs.
This does not happen to all projects - it seems to be random, although I have now re-started this particular project 4 times and it keeps occuring ...
Does anyone know of the cause, a fix or even if Adobe is looking into this issue?
    TIA
    Morven

I believe I have now found the cause of this problem!
I got a new disk (same computer) and installed Windows7 and Captivate4 - this eliminated the problem I was having with using variables in any project but not the problem with Captivate crashing when re-recording slides.
I narrowed the problem to the project template - projects that I create without the project template or with a template supplied by Adobe are fine and projects created based on the template I created are not.
I have now re-created my project template - slide by slide - checking after adding each new slide that the problem had not returned.
All in all it has been a very frustrating exercise as the error messages displayed are more or less useless.
One thing I did notice is the size of the template file - after having created an identical project template the new template is approximately a quarter of the size of the corrupt template. Even after adding a blank slide and deleting all other slides from my original project template file - the size of the file is still 3,599 KB in comparison to a new project template with the same blank screen which is 171 KB.
    Anyway hope this is helpful.

  • How is Pages for you?

Hey everyone, I just bought Iwork for my Mac and I basically got it for the work processing (Pages). Like many people, I work in a MS Word world and I was wondering if Pages is an effective substitute?

    Hi Handleygen
    Welcome to the forum.
The single greatest attraction of Pages would have to be the excellent templates supplied.
As a workable substitute for MsWord that varies:
    1. It is not MsWord
    2. It's conversion back and forth from MsWord documents is imperfect
    3. You have to Save As or Export to get to .doc format, this is both annoying and causes problems and duplication of files.
    4. There are features in Pages that are not in MsWord and vice versa, you will only find out what they are by trial and error.
If you must constantly exchange work with PC MsWord users you would be advised to get *Mac MsWord* or the free OpenOffice. If your needs are simple you could also try Bean (free) which also saves to .doc natively, even TextEdit will do that, but Bean is the better solution.
Your choices are much wider than this:

Try what seems the best fit for you no-one can really decide that for you.

  • Problem Coding Button over Frame by Frame Animation

    Compiler Error: Scene=Scene 1, layer=actoins, fr;'{'
    expected

Thanks to all for your help. It ended up being a problem
involving the template supplied with Flash. I was using a template
I believe to have been based on ActionScript 2 and the tutorial I
was borrowing the code from was assuming I was working with an
ActionScript 3 document. As soon as I created an empty ActionScript
3 document and loaded my existing elements in, as MovieClips in the
first frame of the timeline, everything worked as it was supposed
    to.
Thanks to everyone for your attempts to help.
    Best regards,
    -Bill

  • Php, dreamweaver and cms

I have the big project website that must be publish in june
    2009.
So I have a lot of time now to learn it by myself.
I'm very new in the online. Which is the best of all if I
have to learn to do the website.
Cms I think its the easiest way for me and I love Drupal
    Text
But in the future what is the best to learn for
    webmaster.

    Hi
How big is big is the questions? For a small site content
    seed is ok
    (www.contentseed.com)
I would suggest you supply some more detailed information ie.
    How many
pages? ecommerce? Lots of animation required?
As to how to learn, ask lots of questions and buy a good book
    on HTML and
CSS. Dreamweaver, Expressions etc are good but cannot not
    make up for a
    knowledge of hand coding.
A good start are the templates supplied by Dreamweaver and by
Projectseven.com, try to grasp how and why things are done
    and move from
    there.
Both this and projectseven forums are good and full of
    helpful people
