Templates with Flash don't work

Hello,
I have several pages with templates, but with the new Flash
player, the swf that are included in the templates don't work, they
do'nt appear in the webpage.
Any help please!!

It's IE-only behaviour as a result of changes Microsoft made

Web sites with flash don't work

I just got a new 20" iMac with the Duo 2 Core chip. I'm having problem with wed sites that run flash not working with Safari. Try reinstalling Flash 9, but no like. I tried useding Camino and have no problems. So I know that it is a problem with Safari. I have had no problems with Safari in the past on my G4 Powerbook.
The web sites that are big problems for me are Motogp.com and Youtube.com were I can't see no video.

Before "reinstalling" flash, you need to uninstall the present plug-ins. Start the Installer. On the page for installation, there is a drop down menu. Click on it and select "uninstall". After it completes, selecct "install" from the same menu. Once the installation is complete, the installer automatically takes you to the Adobe site, confirming the proper installation of the plug-in.
Also, check your Safari preferences>Security making sure "enable plug-ins" is checked.

I Already tried that. Even tried uninstall and reinstall! Ialso tried uninstall and reinstall of reader then uninstall and reinstall of flash. There is another display quirk with Lion , if I let my mbp go to sleep without logging out or shutting down, I get the last screen frozen. I have to use the curser to erase the area where the login icon is, then I can enter the login pw and get the mbp to be functional again! There are a number of other display related sizes and parameters that randomly happen since lion was installed. UNSTABLE is a good description here !

Is it on mute? There is a switch on the side which may be mute or rotation lock. If it locks the rotation, double tap the home button and swipe your finger to the right. You should see volume, brightness, etc... On the far left is a button to mute or lock rotation. Make sure it is not on. If you still can't hear anything, go to settings> general> sounds> ringer and alerts and slide the dot to the right.

let me be more specific, the .avi animations will not play in Quicktime on this laptop, but they used to. When I import them into final cut express they won't show up there either. What should I do to fix this?

Quicktime and new Adobe flash don't work!!

Ever since I have ? downloaded new iTunes/Quicktime updates I cannot get Quicktime to play any movie trailers. Also, when I go to any sites which need a Flash player, I am unable play any flash related videos. To add further frustration, I am unable to download the new Adobe flash player. It "downloads," but goes nowhere on my computer and is nonfunctional!! I feel like because I have an "old" Mac with Panther (which otherwise works great!), I am slowly being phased out of all the new downloads as they often either don't work or screw up my system. Help!!

That's great! I'm glad that that got you back on the track.
I personally Repair Permissions about once a week or so (though the need to is highly debated here in Discussions).
You might be interested in having a look at About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
Always Repair Permissions from Disk Utility on you HD before and after any Software Update/Upgrade for trouble free downloads.

Youtube and flash games work, but other sites that use flash don't work

I'm currently using Firefox 18.0.2 on 2 different computers (Both Win7 64 bit), both with flash 11.6.602.168. Both have roughly the same programs installed and the same browser configuration. However, on one machine, flash works only on some sites. For instance, Youtube works perfectly, as do dedicated flash games. However, sites that use embedded flash applications fail to work. For instance, if I visit www.speedtest.net, where the test options normally appear is completely blank. Similarly, other video players fail. For example, videos in www.cbsnews.com play sound, but where the video should be is just white. I've tried completely uninstalling both firefox as well as flash, and installing previous versions, nothing has worked.

I guess it is a process of elimination, what is different ?
I would first of all check and experiment with Adobe FlashPlayer protected mode setting.

Also have you any filtering, adblock or security related programs installed which may block video or scripts. With you-tube check is it actually using Flash player,and not trying to use any HTML5 options so check any options and cookies.

Can it be that OS 10 and Flash don't work well together? Internet browsers are freezing up

I started this discussion on the macbook pro forum but no one has figured this out and I'm beginning to think this could be an OS 10 problem, so I'm posting here. No matter what browser I use (Safari or Firefox), after a little bit of surfing, the browser freezes and I get the spinning circle of death. Only thing that works to fix it is to reboot. But then the cycle repeats. I've found discussions of other fixes for this but nothing has worked. So far I have:
Added open source DNSs
Updated all software
Scanned for malware with Sophos (none found)
Cleared browser caches
Run disk utility and repaired all permissions
Reset Flash settings to disable hardware acceleration
Moved large files to an external hard drive to free up more disk space
Checked to see if I have a bad Shockwave plug-in that was the culprit for others (didn't have it)
Called Mac support and was advised to use disk utility
None of this has worked. In other cases, people felt the problem had to do with flash. For them, changing the hardware acceleration setting (as I did) or removing the bad plug-in fixed the problem. This has not helped me, and I'm at a loss of what to try next. Of note, nearly every other instance I turned up about this involved SLeopard 10.6.6. That's what I was using. I updated to 10.6.8, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

First level Console messages are usually too general. Those are kind of generic and I'm not seeing anything related there to your problem. You need to open Console and navigate inside to system.log.
This really needs fine some tooth troubleshooting. It could be so many things causing the problem. I'd call Apple back and get on the phone with a senior tech who can take the time to walk you through everything that needs to be looked at. Sounds like the tech you got either wasn't too skilled or ready to do that.
One of the first things to try is to create a new admin user and test for this there. The Apple tech should have suggested this. If it doesn't happen there, you know it's specific to your regular account and not system wide.
You could take a shotgun approach and throw Applejack at it. Make sure you do the underlined steps as well.

It runs in single user mode, where it runs more safely than other maintenance/cleaning programs because there is less chance of interference from the OS. After installing (you won't see it in the Applications Folder) hold CMD-S at startup. You will get a black screen with MS-DOS like text. Just follow the prompts: type in "applejack AUTO" and it will run through the following:
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
You can also run tasks selectively and for specific users by typing in "applejack." After running in "AUTO," you can go back and run it again as "applejack," steps 3 & 4 only, for your user.
The first reboot will take much longer than usual, as it rebuilds caches. It may take several restarts to see the benefits. Because of the deep cache cleaning in AUTO mode some applications may tell you they are being opened for the first time.
NOT YET UPDATED FOR LION (although it is reported by some that it is working)

Hi, i'm an italian guy. I've a problem at the flash of my iphone 4. When I register the movie with flash on, The LED flash does not fire. I've send twice my iphone 4 to Apple in Holland, but they don't see the problem. How can i solve this problem?

If you can give us a few recent entries in on the page "about:crashes" that might also be helpful.

QTs rendered in Flash don't work in FC

None of the QTs that I exported from flash with 25fps work in FC 6.
Depending on the codec I used they all come out different lengths, and they are all listed as 10fps in the FC browser.
Any ideas?

You have not told us anything about the Flash projects, though. Do they originate on a PC, perhaps?
We've been dealing with Flash questions around here for many months, since about the time Adobe bought Macromedia. The problems are usually associated with users not understanding the differences between .flv and .swf files and using the proper transcoder or exporting functions and making sure the drives are built properly for the interchange. If you have CS3 on your FCP system, there really should not be any issues.
DISCLAIMER: I do not pretend to understand any of this stuff myself. I leave all Flash crap to Flash experts.

Sites using flash don't work on Firefox 4 beta 7, why not?

When I use FF 4.0b7 on my Mac I try to go to a website using flash (YouTube, Hulu, etc.) and it doesn't display anything. No video, nothing. But when I use FF 3.6.12 any website using flash works just fine! I've reinstalled Firefox and flash many times over, to no avail. Flash also works in other browsers, just not Firefox 4..

Flash has become even more buggy in this release of FF4b7. I get that spinning pinwheel all the time when I try to load a page with Flash, and the plug-in crashes quite often.

Creative Live! Cam (VF0400) with Skype (don't work)

This is getting pretty desperate... as this is actually my 3rd unusable webcam for my iBook (OS X 10.4.11):(
I checked the macam website and the list said this webcam works but I can't seem to get it to work with Skype. It works with the Macam app but Skype don't recognise it. Anyone with prior experience please help because I can't seem to find any info on the Skype's help dbase.

I once had the same problem as you. Did you do everything the readme file said? Where I'm going to: did you copy the macam.component file to the Quicktime library folder? If not copy it to the /Library/Quicktime/ folder. It should work just fine.

Web template with HTML framset not working after transport

Hi,
I've built a frameset which consists of two web-templates (role-menu and content area) those two are combined together using plain HTML which does not acontain any web items (uploaded via WAD). This works fine in development. After transporting to our QA environment all the templates have been transported with concode 0, but the frameset does not get loaded. I always get an "Error loading template ...". The two templates which contain web items work fine when used stand-alone.
When looking in transport connection I see the following message:
"Object ZWF_WEB_FRAMESET (Web Template Name) could not be collected for object ()"
I also see the same behavior on another transport of a template. Nine out of ten ar fine, but one, all are exact copies - only the query used is different, does not work either. The query that is used has been transported and is working.
Has anybody an idea what could cause this?
Is there a way to regenerate templates (like RSRT for queries) ?

Save a published Access services database site as a template with contents does not work

I have a Access site on the SharePoint. I wanted the site to be duplicated to another subsite, I then did the usual - save site as a template with contents and made a copy of it, however it does not work. I have been getting the error as stated below

However, it works if I make a local copy and publish it to the subsite? How does access services work on SharePoint and why the template option can't be chosen.
