Tempo column missing in Loops index

I have GB 6.0 in my MB Pro and was wondering why in the Loops index the Tempo column no longer is shown. Name, Beats and Fav are there, but not Tempo. Is there a way to get it back in? (I ask because even tho one can control tempo, it's good to know what the original was.)
Thanks!

  • Missing / No "Apple Loops Index" Folder of TXT Files

I've been having a weird issue for a while now, even after doing a clean install of Yosemite again. It seems I've never had an Apple Loops Index folder in my Macbook's Library, and even when I make one from scratch in the proper location and run a loops re-index from both LPX and GarageBand, no .txt index files are made. I've never seen the folder or files before. The reason why I'm asking about this is because I've had some issues with missing Apple Loops folders that I definitely have in my HD library, but they won't show up. Many support forums advised trashing the Apple Loops Index text files and re-indexing, but I have no way of finding this folder. Has anyone experienced this or read any similar issue reports?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Loops reside in a few files.
    /Library/Audio/Apple Loops
~/Library/Audio/Apple Loops (if you installed any thiord party guys)
    The index files are here:
    /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index
    ~/Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index
To move the loops to an external drive:
    1. Move all of the loops from the Apple Loops folders above and move them to the external drive.
    2. Delete all of the Index files.
    3. Use the Loop Browser to reindex the loops from the new drive.
Be sure to drag the loops as individual folders (in other words if you store them in a folder called loops and then have groups of loops under that) if you don't, you will have one large group instead of several smaller ones. It makes it easier to find what you want.

  • MDS persistence for column within a loop

    Hello,
I am trying out basic setup of MDS. I was able to make it work for most of my columns except for a column within a loop. I also tried using the ADF Read Only Dynamic table and it is not persisting any of the columns of the table, since it is inside the loop.
I would like to know if this is a bug when you apply MDS to component that has id that is dynamically incremented/generated.

    Hi,
the problem actually is that the id is the same for all of the occurences. So the forEach loop should create unique IDs for each occurence of a component.

  • Loops index

I installed Apple Loops for Soundtrack Pro but the loops do not appear in the loops browser in Logic. The search index.txt file is missing from the Apple Loops Index folder. How can I fix this problem?

found the solution, simply drag the folder onto the loops browser, that indexes the loops!

  • GB won't open- This is what I get... Path does not exist: /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index  st: /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index w/out this directory you cannot use the Loop Browser

Path does not exist: /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index  st: /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index w/out this directory you cannot use the Loop Browser.  Then I get this message...
    Instrument Library Invalid
GarageBand Ecpects a valid instrument foledr in /Libraty/Application Support/GarageBand
Please choose a valid instrument Library folder or quit and re-install GB
    Any solutions?

Is this a new installation of GarageBand or has it worked before on the same computer?
Or have you transferrred your GarageBand from a different computer?
The error message is saying, that your GarageBand installation is incomplete. There are essential foldrs missing in your system library.
Check, if indeed both folders are missing or if only the permissions are set incorrectly.
Your system library (the folder "System" directly on your system drive) should have the following folders inside the folder "Audio", and they need to be readable by the system and by administrators.
And in the folder /Library/Application Support there should be the Instrument Library.
If these folders do not exist (or no longer exist), restore them from your backup-  If your GarageBand version is a new installation, the application may not hve been downloaded or installed completely, then reinstall GarageBand.
What is your GarageBAnd version, and how did you install it originally?

  • Loop Browser - Removing files/folders not indexed in the Apple Loops Index

    Hi...
I experimented with dragging in a SFX folder to the Logic Pro Loop Browser window. It asked me if I wanted to copy files to the Apple Loops folder or reference the original files, and I selected reference the originasl files.
The SFX files were then listed under the OTHER area of the View menu.
Question... HOW do I remove these SFX files/folder from the OTHER view menu?
I have tried deleting all of the Apple Loop Index files and that did not work.
I have tried deleting the actual SFX files/folders, and after they disappear, but when I restore the SFX files/folders to their source location they reappear in the logic browser view menu.
Is there some where else Logic stores Loop Browser reference data which can be deleted to remove these OTHER files/folders from the Loop Browser view menu?
    Thanks

    Success...
    OK I found the solution.
    1) I deleted the SFX audio files from the referenced HDD source location.
    2) I opened Logic and re-index the Loop Browser.
    3) I quit Logic and copied the SFX files back to the HDD.
When I opened Logic this time, the SFX files/folders referenced under the OTHER menu were gone.
Because I have a huge production music & SFX library, the best way to audition these sources for use in a Logic project, is to audition in iTunes and then just drag whatever I need right from within itunes into the Logic project.
That keeps my Logic loop browser more manageable and focused on composing.

  • I can't rebuild my loop index!

Whilst using Garageband v4.1.2, I clicked on a loop to use it and and got a message saying that the loop couldn't be located and would I like to reindex the loop library. I clicked on Ok to reindex it, and then there were no loops at all in the library!!
So I've looked up an article on how to rebuild the index. I closed Garageband, deleted the existing search index files, reopened Garageband. Then located the folder with the loops on and dragged it over the loop library area in Garageband. Garageband responded with a message saying that the index was being rebuilt, but there's still nothing in there? Have repeated process a few times. I've noticed that no new search index files have appeared in the 'Apple Loops Index' folder.
Help! What am I doing wrong?!

  • Can I relocate the Apple Loops & Index folder to another drive?

There's like 10GB of Apple Loops on my boot drive. I would LOVE to move all of that stuff off to a data drive. Is there a PLIST file or something that tells SoundtrackPro, etc where this treasure-trove of stuff is located - or is it hardwired to be in the Library folder on the boot drive?

  • Change Loops Index location

At home, I keep a lot of loops on an external HD (connected to a serving computer). Now I'm traveling and don't have that volume available. I wanted to add some loops, dragged them into the Loop Browser. GB said "indexing …", and my computer tried to connect to that remote volume. So I take it that my Loops Index is on that remote volume (which is probably a bad idea).
I had to force quit GB, and when I re-opened it, it said it had no loops at all (before it had the local GB loops). Fine, I thought, so I can index from scratch, and dragged all my loops into GB, but it still tried to find that volume. Force quit again and trashed the prefs files, but no change.
My local Loops Index folder is empty, in the user directory as well as in the main Library. So - how can I tell GB just to create a local Loops Index??

Okay, somehow it worked at the second try - maybe I was impatient before and shouldn't have force quit the app. Trashed all the index files it had created in the last half hour and started again. And there it was, funnily enough with all the loops already installed!

  • Apple loop index is empty folder!!! Can not find loop in logic browser because they just no longer exist on my hard drive, what would be the new appropriate step to take?

Apple loop index folder is empty from the hard drive, which may explain why i can not find loop in my logic pro browser, just sort of grey in disaabled format. what would be the next appropriate steps to take??? I do have an external back up disk.

The IDE interface that the iBook and your desktop use are the same, just a different plug size. So with the rite adapter you could put the iBooks drive in your desktop, you could even boot off it too.
If you want to install the laptops HD in your desktop this will do it for you. Or you can use the iBooks HD as an external hard drive with this

  • How many is too many columns in a composite index

    hi all, (using 10g r2)
i do realize that there is not an exact right answer, but im more curious to find out how others have handled this situation, for better or for worse...
i know the literal upper bound on the number of columns that can be part of a composite index but i was wondering if any of you had come up with what you feel to be practical or upper bounds on the number of columns in a composite index? Also, can anyone share info on what might be strategy to figure out at what point the number of columns in the index creates a situation where updating/maintaining the index outweighs any performance gain you get from the composite index? Thanks in advance! -- jp

This is situational - like everything else, it "depends".
Testing can be done by timing the results of the index variations you want to check. Time multiple uses of the index for DML and query operations involving the index. I like to track the numbers in seconds and put the values in spreadsheets for later reference and easy summation; you can put the data in tables to and use SQL for analysis if you want. I use dbms_utiltiy.get_time in pl/sql (get first time before run, get second time after run, time in fractiions of a second is second time minus first time) or set timing on in sql*plus (hour-minute-second) to obtain run times.
Efficiency depends on what the compsite index is for. Are you trying to enforce uniqueness? Use the composite for data retrieval? Adding exra columns to avoid table access?
Due to maintenance considerations indexes should not have more columns than needed. "duplicate" indexes with the same columns (like "id" vs "id, name") are usually redundant and one index (the one with the fewer columns) can usually be removed.

  • UUT loop index - how?

Can I monitor UUT loop index in WatchExpression while running my sequence?
Simply put, I want to see how many UUTs I already did.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello fomine,
"runstate.root" is a reference of ProcessModel. With this reference, it is possible to access all variables of ProcessModel (Locals, Parameters, FileGlobal, ...).
To know these variables, open your ProcessModel.
To have a counter of UUts passed or failed, I think it is necessary to modify the ProcessModel.
For information, steps to add your counter :
    - add a local variable "PassedCounter" in the sequence "Test UUTs" in the ProcessModel ("SequentialModel.seq" by default -> create a copy)
    - incremente this variable after each iteration if test is passed :
        - add an "Statements" step after the step "PostUUT Callback"
        - add this precondition : "RunState.Sequence.Main["MainSequence Callback"].Result.Status=="Passed"
        - in the expression field, incremente your new local variable (Locals.PassedCounter++)
you can see your counter like "UUTLoopIndex", with the expression "Runstate.Root.Locals.PassedCounter"

  • Garageband 10.0: Missing Old Loops?

Just upgraded to OS X Mavericks, along with the latest version of Garageband (10.0). Some old apple loops, specifically my favorite one: Moody Piano 02, are no longer available. I can still see where they were used in my old songs, but I can no longer find it in the Apple Loops Index. Please help.

    That is an interesting news
I am seeing the loop still in my library, when I type "mood" into the search field, so the loop can be added.
You said, that the loops will not stay, when you try to force the reindexing by directly dragging your "Moody electric Piano" onto the Loop browser from the Apple Loops for GarageBand folder in the Library/Audio folder?
The try a detour over your Desktop:
    Open the folder
              /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Apple Loops for GarageBand/
and copy the file "Moody Electric Piano 02.caf" onto your Desktop.
Rename the file to "Moody Electric Piano B 02.caf" or something.
Then drag the copy onto the Loop Browser to add it.
When I tried this, a saw the spinning wheel for a long time. The loop seemed to jump back, but in the end it appeared in the loop browser with the new name and stayed.
    Try it.
