Temporary PDF file

I have to fill out a web based form online.  When i open the form it automatically creates a temporary pdf file in my computer and seem to take me out of the web based mode.  After I fill out the form and hit submit i get a message box with security warning "The form is trying to connect to  XXXXX (it names a file).  If youtrust the site choose allow if not choose block."  I choose allow and another box pops up "Error opening URL to submit this form."  Has anyone encountered this problem?  Please help.

Are you sure it's not a domain name?  Perhaps the domain or associated website is down?
Or if indeed it is a file name, then that PDF doc may contain some errors.

  • Capturing iPhoto Book Temporary PDF File

    In earlier versions of iPhoto, it was possible to capture a copy of the PDF file that is generated and sent to the photo printing service by finding the temporary folder where iPhoto saves the file during the "assembling book..." phase. (For a detailed description, click here -- http://scottierocket.com/mac/capturing-iphoto-book-temporary-pdf-files/)
    However, I can't seem to find the same temporary folder or files when running iPhoto '08. Does anyone know where these temporary files are stored during assembly and uploading?
    Thanks...Neil

    Larry, thanks for the tip -- that looks like it does what I wanted to do!
    In the meantime, I did find a slightly geekier way to do it. For those that care, I've posted the solution to my blog: http://scottierocket.com/mac/capturing-temporary-pdf-files-in-iphoto-08/
    At least that way, I learned a bit more Mac OS X command-line geek-fu!

  • Orarrp can't print pdf file directly to printer

    oracle remote print utility (orarrp) can't print pdf file directly to printer.
    we expect orarrp utility can handle ".rrpa" file (i.e. pdf file generated on the application server) by directly print the file to the client's printer, i.e. invoke the acrobat reader on the client side, display the the printer selection dialogue, after confirmation print the pdf file, then the acrobat reader close automatically nicely.
    However we are disappointed as the acrobat reader startup and display the pdf file content but does not print and does not close.
    After testing the problem several times, there are some findings:-
    Finding (A):-
    (a) for the success of direct printing of pdf file, a physical path must be provided; we have tried 2 methods:
    1) using drag & drop to copy the pdf file directly to the browser
    2) open pdf file in the browser directly using browser menu-->File-->Open.
    (b) for the failure of direct printing, a virtual path is involved and we have also tried 2 methods:
    1) when web.show_document() is used
    2) enter the url to the URL bar of the browser,
    eg. http://appsvr.com:7777/report/test_printout/APPSVR1094707.rrpa (this is a virtual path/url)
    Finding (B):-
    (a)when the physical path is used, a temporary pdf file is generated in the same directory where the rrpa file exists in the application server,
    e.g. in application server: d:/printout/yyy.pdf is generated for d:/printout/xxx.rrpa when direct print occurs
    (b) however when the virtual path is used, there is no such temp "pdf" file generated and direct print failed.
    May be when virtual path is used, orarrp utility don't know where to generate the temp "pdf" so direct print doesn't occur.
    So, anyone has similar experience or further queries or has solutions, please join.

  • Damaged .pdf file when exporting / printing

    Post Author: darrens
    CA Forum: Exporting
    Hi,
    I scoured Google, these forums, and Crystal support but haven't found a solution to my issue.
    I have a Crystal report (version XIR2) served from an Enterprise server.  I also have a ASP.NET C# application that calls and runs this report in a DHTML CrystalReportViewer.  The actual report runs just fine.
    Clicking the print button in the report viewer's top toolbar causes the viewer to attempt to export the report to a .pdf, from where you can actually print it.  This is where my problem lies!  When Adobe Reader opens and attempts to open the temporary .pdf file generated from the viewer, I get the message "Adobe Reader could not open 'filename.tmp' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."  This also happens when trying to export the report directly into PDF format.  Everyone who would run this report, including me, is using Adobe Reader 8.1.
    Exporting to other file formats seems to work just fine.  Excel and Word have no problems.
    Also, interestingly enough, exporting to PDF and trying to print in Internet Explorer 7 works just fine!  These problems seem to only occur in IE6.  Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to use IE7 yet, so we are stuck with IE6.  Additionally, we are stuck using the DHTML viewer, so other viewers, like the ActiveX or Java viewers, are not options for me.
    I had found some articles in Business Object support saying this problem was related to WebSphere, and there were various solutions I found related to that.  However, WebSphere isn't used anywhere in our organization, so this problem must be stemming from elsewhere.
    Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance for taking the time to read / reply to this thread.  If anyone needs more information, feel free to ask!
    Thanks,Darren

    Hi,
    I think your pdf file is probably damaged. There is a tool called Advanced PDF Repair. I have used it to repair many corrupt PDF files successfully. Its homepage is http://www.datanumen.com/apdfr/  Maybe you can have a try.

  • Get/Save PDF file generated by Reports.

    How can I get the temporary .pdf file stored in the cache by Reports Server when, there is a request for a report?
    When the a request to view output as PDF file? Reports server stores the output PDF file in the server cache but generates bogus alphanumeric files. Is there a way I can save it myself so that I can capture that file for future use. or maybe a Reports API?

    When it appears in the browser you could use "Save As" to save it locally.

  • How can I get Full PDF file in temporary Internet Files folder when a PDF is opened in IE?

    when a URL displaying a PDF file(http://www.google.com/Test.pdf) in internet explorer is done, the PDF file is opened in Microsoft internet explorer itself. But I observe one thing. i.e., If the PDF file is created with acrobat distiller the the PDF file opened on IE is fully obtained in Temporary Internet files, and if the PDF file is created with other than acrobat distiller(i.e., created using other PDF tools), then if the same file, then only a part of PDF(10KB-50KB) is obtained in Temporary internet files folder, and remaining is obtained by Acrxxxx.tmp in C:\Documents and Settings\Current UserName\Local Settings\temp folder. why this is happening?
    consider the total size of file as 1.5MB.
    In my PC, I had Adobe reader 8.1 and IE6.

    Yes, I was seeing the difference between PDFs that are linearized. I had unchecked that option, still I can't get the Full PDF in temporary Internet files folder.
    Are there any more settings to be changed.
    Why only for some files this is happening, What was the difference b/w the files which are fully obtained in temporary internet files folder and that are of not fully obtained.

  • When creating PDF I get message "This file was saved to the Temporary Internet  Files Folder"

    It doesn't matter if I say yes I want to open the folder or not I can never locate the file.

    You can get the same results (as turning protected mode off) by:
    (presuming you have an icon for Internet Explorer on your desktop or taskbar) -- right click the icon and pick "Run as administrator"
    I've got the same problem printing to pdf (Acrobat v8; problem's only in IE7) on a Dell Optiplex/Vista Business desktop machine (though not my T61/Vista Ultimate Thinkpad laptop) and the above resolves the issue for my desktop machine. Certainly not a fix but perhaps a clue to Adobe developers, on the [slim?] chance they read these posts.

  • Hyperlinks to XLS, DOC, and PDF files that are included in a .chm file work intermittently.

    SUMMARY
    Hyperlinks to XLS, DOC, and PDF files that are included in a
    .chm file (and the Baggage Files) only work intermittently. The
    only solution appears to be deleting the Temporary Internet Files.
    PROBLEM
    1. I place the XLS, DOC, or PDF file in the Windows
    sub-directory that corresponds to the RoboHelp project sub-folder
    where the topic in which I’ll place the hyperlink exists.
    2. I open the help project in RoboHelp HTML.
    3. I right-click on the project’s Baggage Files
    sub-folder that corresponds to the Windows sub-directory in which I
    placed the XLS, DOC, or PDF file (in step 1).
    4. I import the XLS, DOC, or PDF file.
    5. I open the topic in which I’m going to place the
    hyperlink in the WYSIWYG editor.
    6. I “drag and drop” the Baggage File into the
    topic (in the WYSIWYG editor) to create a link to it.
    7. I save the changes and then generate HTML (.chm) help.
    8. I open the .chm file and click the hyperlink. The XLS,
    DOC, or PDF file may or may not open.
    9. When the hyperlink works correctly, for DOC and XLS files,
    a “File Download – Security Warning” dialog box
    appears asking, “Do you want to open or save this
    file?”. The buttons that are available are
    “Open”, “Save”, and “Cancel”.
    These buttons work then as one would expect. (When the hyperlink
    works correctly for a PDF file, it simply opens the PDF file in a
    new window; there’s no prompt to save, open, or cancel.)
    10. When a hyperlink does NOT work, for DOC, XLS, and PDF
    files, no dialog box or other visual message is displayed. Instead,
    the sound that is associated with the “Exclamation”
    program event is played (the “Windows XP
    Exclamation.wav” file is the WinXP default).
    Other Notes:
    - The hyperlinks ALWAYS work when I view a topic using the
    “View Selected Item” function (Ctrl+W) in the RoboHelp
    HTML project.
    - Once a hyperlink stops working, it will not start working
    again until I delete all the Temporary Internet Files.
    - A hyperlink will stop working even if Internet Explorer
    (iexplore.exe) is closed the entire time.
    WORKAROUND
    Through trial and error, I have discovered that if a
    hyperlink stops working, I can get it to work again using the
    following steps:
    1. Leave the .chm file open.
    2. Open Internet Explorer.
    3. Click Tools>Internet Options….
    4. From the “Internet Options” dialog box, select
    the “General” tab.
    5. Under the “Temporary Internet Files” section,
    click the “Delete Files…” button.
    6. From the “Delete Files” dialog box, select
    “Delete all offline content” and then click
    “OK”. The files are deleted and the “Delete
    Files” dialog box closes.
    7. Click “OK” to close the “Internet
    Options” dialog box.
    8. Without closing Internet Explorer and without re-starting
    the .chm file, all the hyperlinks that didn’t work before
    will now work.

    - “Amount of disk space to use” is set to

    “View Files…”
    - An XLS or DOC file will be listed here if I click its
    hyperlink and then click either “Open” or
    “Save” from the “File Download – Security
    Warning” dialog box.
    - A file will appear here even if I click “Save”
    and then click “Cancel” from the subsequent “Save
    As” dialog box.
    - If I click “Cancel” from the “File
    Download – Security Warning” dialog box, the file does
    not appear in the Temporary Internet Files folder.
    - When a file does appear in the Temporary Internet Files
    folder, its Internet Address is displayed similar to the following:
    “ms-its:C:\PrimaryProjectFolder\ProjectName.chm::/SubFolderName/FileName.xls”
    “View Objects…”
    Here’s a list of all the program files that appear:
    - “Microsoft Office Template and Media Control”

    - “WUWebControl Class” (Last Accessed 12/13/06)
    (Version 5,8,0,2469)
    Today is 12/18/06 so the only program file that is listed as
    having been “Last Accessed” today is the
    “Shockwave Flash Object”.
    REQUEST FOR HELP
    I really want to include certain PDF, DOC, and XLS files in
    their native format in a .chm file. However, I need a better
    solution to my problem than the one I discovered. What I really
    want is to avoid the entire problem altogether.
    Have anyone seen this before or have any suggestions?

    You wont be able to do that. The embedded objects would appear as images only.

  • .pdf file not opening in Illustrator CS5

    All of a sudden, I cannot get ,pdf files to open in Illustrator CS5. what would cause this?
    Thanks

    Jeremy,
    Or you may go further down the list.
    The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
    If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • How to open a PDF File from a ByteArray

    Hi, Fellows,
    I'm having the following problem:
    I have put a PDF file inside a BLOB field in a table in my SQLite database.

    Bob, Here's some ActionScript code for saving the byte array data to temporary file. (In this code, pdfData is a ByteArray object containing the PDF data.)
    var tempFile:File = File.createTempFile();
    var stream:FileStream = new FileStream();
    stream.open(tempFile, FileMode.WRITE);
    stream.writeBytes(pdfData);
    stream.close();
    Next you can load the file into your Flex HTML control (represented as html in the following code):
    html.location = tempFile.url;

If I try to print it, Internet Explorer gives me an error and close it. I have tried to do the same with other user in that PC but it happened the same issue. I cleaned the temporary files and doesn't work.
    Please help me.

  • How can we change the default folder location (avoiding problems with Temporary Internet Files)

    (Environment in question: Windows 7 secure desktop (running as user not admin), Office 2010)
    Hello,
      As has been touched on in various forums (such as here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/797451), when one opens a PDF attachment in Outlook, Acrobat and Reader store the file in the "Temporary Internet Files" folder (f/k/a OLK folder in previous versions of Outlook.  There are two major problems with this:
      First, as Microsoft has documented in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817878, attachments end up here staying here under certain conditions (go checks your now, you'll find some!), which ends up being a file attachment no man's land, and that can present security risks (e.g. if data we thought was deleted still lives in that folder).
      Secondly, the first time you open an attachment in Acrobat and do a Save As, Acrobat is defaulting to the Temporary Internet Files location.  This folder (as noted in the thread linked above) is ridiculously hard to get to for the average user, so they can end up storing a file and then losing it.
      We've found that if we open Acrobat once, do a save as, and change to the users Documents folder, the change sticks.  But how can we have Acrobat default to Documents instead of that temporary location?
      Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Have you check to see if Acrobat sets a registry entry or file preference for the first Save As?  That's where I would start looking.  Process Monitor is a good tool for this.

  • Blackened page and dialog error after opening a PDF file

    Hello,
    I have an Acrobat Pro. 8.1 that I had installed in to Win. Vista. After reformatting my system and installing Win. 7 ultimate, I installed it again.  I also have Adobe Reader 9.0 on this system.
    Problem is when I click and open a PDF file, it opens it in completely Black page and after a few second Black page goes away and following dialog is display and when I click on Close program on this dialog page the application does not give solution and goes completely away.
    Adobe Acrobat 8.1 has stopped working
    A problem caused that program to stop working correctly.
    Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
    With a Close program below it.
    I can not scan with it either where as I could all the above in Win Vista. What could be wrong?
    When I generate System Report if generates the following:

    There were documents available in the knowledgeable that I no longer have the urls for. I have had communication with Adobe Acrobat support personnel that have made the same statements. I do not have the habit  of asking official Adobe tech support people to prove their statements by providing documentation. I have also seen Adobe employees give presentations on computers that have had both installed. When they were asked about the incompatibility, they did say the equivalent of phooey. However, enough people on this forum have had their problems disappear when they have removed one of the two programs that I feel comfortable giving that advice. Yes some people have no problems running both until one of the programs or a system component gets updated and then things stop working. My advice is not to have both on the same computer. When two programs share system calls and can fight over who gets to handle the call it makes sense that it can cause a problem. It doesn't make a difference if it is Reader and Acrobat or any two other programs you run. If you are not having a problem with running both GREAT. However, if you are running both and have a problem, it is a simple step to eliminate one and see if the problem disappears.

  • Opening PDF Files in Adobe Reader XI directly from SharePoint 2013 Site

    I am trying to open PDF files in Adobe Reader XI directly from a SharePoint 2013 document library using Internet Explorer 11. When I click the file name it immediately opens the file in Adobe Reader, however it is downloading and opening the file locally
    from the Temporary Internet Files location. If I add a comment to the PDF file, and save it will perform a Save As and the location will default to the temporary folder.
    If instead of clicking the file name, I click the ellipses in SharePoint, copy the file URL, and go to Adobe Reader, click File > Open and paste the link into the file name, Adobe Reader will correctly open the file directly from the SharePoint site and
    prompt for "Open and Checkout, Open, or Cancel".
    Is there a way to get it so that when I click the file in IE, I get the same functionality as a File > Open in Adobe Reader?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    According to your description, you want to open pdf file in the Adobe Reader directly from document library.
    I suggest you do as the followings:
    1. In SharePoint Central Administration site, click Application Management->Manage Web Applications, select the web application for the site. Click Authentication
    Providers, select default zone, and select Yes for "Enable Client Integration?".
    2. click Site Settings-> Site collection features->"Open Documents in Client Applications by Default" click Activate
    3. set the default open behavior for a document library by using the document library settings page.
    4. Enable the “Adobe Arcobat SharePoint OpenDocuments Component”add-on in the IE11.
    5. Add your current site URL to the trusted web sites in IE11.
    There is a similar threads for your reference:
