Tennis games

Hi all
I've seen a tennis game, Apple uses the screen shots alot on adverts mainly in magazines and it's always shown on the iPod touch. It shows players in a similar style to Mii's on the Nintendo Wii quite round cartoon style. Does anyone know what it's called, I can't seem to find it in the app store.
Cheers
Matt.

I think that too.
But it's although great game

ALL U.S. iphones are carrier locked and CANNOT be unlocked at all.  They can ONLY be activated with AT&T in the U.S.  No other carrier, no other country.
No.  A U.S. iphone would have to be returned to the U.S.
If possible you need to return the iphone to the U.S. for a full refund and buy one in your country.

  • Big ten channel 2 HD

when will this channel be avaiable in hd in philly area?

Having looked at the listings on BTN, it looks like maybe they have scheduled the games so that they no longer need more than 2 overflow channels.  Someone following the Big Ten more closely than me might know better, but I seem to recall on the past that there was generally just the early kickoff for the Big Ten games on BTN.  It appears that with as many as 3 daily start times, they are spreading the game out through the day so there are never more than 3 games (regular BTN + 2 overflows) at a time.
    Hopefully all is well.
But I agree with the previous poster.  I would love to get BTN2Go.  This seems like the kind of perk Verizon usually offers us.

  • PETITION TO ADD BIG TEN NETWORK SPILLOVER CHANNELS TO FIOS

I don't actually know if anyone looks at these boards from Verizon but it is worth a try.
If you would like to Verizon to add the BIG TEN NETWORK SPILLOVER CHANNELS please leave a message here. Big Ten fans recognize that it is important to have all the Big Ten Football games available in all Big Ten states, for fans of different Big Ten teams live all over Big Ten Country. Second, when Verizon provides a channel to its customers it should provide all programming available from that channel and not just a portion. Further, it undermines the purpose of having the Big Ten Network if Verizon is unwilling to broadcast Big Ten games in teams' home states. For example broadcasting the Penn State game in ALL of PA, instead of broadcasting the Ohio State game in all networks.
Please add the BTN spillover channels to the FIOS network.

I agree and sign your petition, but unfortunately this forum is probably not the right place since it is a peer-to-peer forum and not a company forum.
    You could try posting HERE
The link above is to a forum that is answered by Verizon although they typically deal with technical problems not programming issues.
If a forum member gives an answer you like, give them the Kudos they deserve. If a member gives you the answer to your question, mark the answer as Accepted Solution so others can see the solution to the problem.

  • Big Ten Network overflow channels

In years past, Verizon has offered all 4 overflow channels that the big ten network uses to show all of its college football games on channels 330-333. They are still listed on the channel lineup page for my area. However, at the moment, the program guide only shows two overflow channels 330-331.
Can we expect the other channels to be turned on before game day? I called fios but didn't get much help. She seemed to think I was having a tech problem, but even the fios mobile app and website only list the 2 channels on their tv listings.

  • Why is the Watch ESPN app not working?

All I get is that it is unavailable

Yep, same here...ESPN app on the Apple TV quit today May 26 for me.  It just says 'not available, try again later'.  Have not found the answer anywhere on the web.  So I have to pull it up on the iPad ESPN app and send it to the Apple TV via Airplay.  This works great, full screen picture just as sharp.  So, uh, I guess I don't care if they fix it.  Except I can't use the iPad for anything else while I am watching the tennis games in Paris this week.  If I had to blame someone, I would select the blamee du jour.  Vlad.  Vlad is responsible for everything bad, everywhere.

  • Which macbook is the right one for me

I want to buy a macbook pro but I'm not sure which one is for me I want it for itunes watching movies (don't need a cd drive) for photos so I need it to be crystal clear and can handle like about 10 games like minecraft and gta san andreas plus internet surfing

    Madmo jackson,
presuming that you’re trying to decide between MacBook Pro models available new, all of them will let you run iTunes, watch movies, view photos, and surf the Internet. The right choice will come down to what those ten games are; which of those games has the most demanding system requirements, and what exactly are that game’s system requirements? (MacBook Pros aren’t primarily designed for gaming.)

  • Random exe-files won't run on windows. Driver related?

Hope someone smarter than me can find an answer to this...
I've tried running a bunch of games via bootcamp and random exe-files won't run. A couple of times the setup.exe wouldn't start and other times the installations go fine but the game itself refuses. I get a short flash of a dos prompter that disappears within the fraction of a second and then nothing happens at all.
I get the same thing weather I run XP SP3 or Win 7 x86 and I've probably tried ten games all together.
I'm thinking it must somehow be driver (or else way BootCamp) related since all games have been successfully run on native PCs.
    Any ideas?

I get a short flash of a dos prompter that disappears within the fraction of a second and then nothing happens at all.
That sounds almost like trouble with your Windows Installer.
What versions of Windows installer are you running for each of your OSes?
A quick way to check: bring up a Run line, type msiexec and hit the Enter key. The Windows Installer version should be at the top of the information screen that comes up.

  • AS 3 Object Hit Test question

I am working on a tennis game. I have designed a two -dimensional court with each of the individual parts of the court (eg right service court) as an instance of a movie clip. I want to distort the court so that the far end looks farther away - the court becomes a trapezium. When detecting whether the ball lands on a particular court section, is the hit test done on the original two-dimensional shape or on the distorted shape?

unless you use the bitmapdata hittest, you'll be checking for a hit of the bounding rectangle and it does not matter what the original shape is.  if you want a pixel-perfect hittest, you'll need to use the bitmapdata hittest.

  • Run time shared library

    Hi.
I use the same library "food" (which contains apple.swf, orange.swf etc... ) for ten different games.
I DON'T check the run time shared library box on export.
The ten games import food.swf to use it's assets.
I thought that on downloading food.swf once then it was cached so it would always be local ie: why would it be advantageous to have used run time shared library.
    Cheers

Are you talking about symbol RSL in Flash IDE?
If yes - symbol RSLs have nothing to do with application RSL. Symbol RSLs are authoring environment RSLs - they are asasets that shared between FLAs  - not SWFs.
RSLs from SWFs perspective are different story.
Say, you have class Food. Also you have Classes Orange, Apple, Walnut that extend class Food. And each of these sublcasses have their own SWF orange.swf, apple.swf, walnut.swf.
You can compile these extended swf in regular way when they don't share their super class Food. In this case a copy of Food class will be in all three swfs. So, all three are as much heavier as Flood class is.
But if you use RSL - you don't compile Food in any of them. You compile Food into main SWF that loads these three extended swfs so that these swfs use a single copy that resides in the main swf. The three subclasses are lighter because they don't have Food class in the swfs.
In other words, orange, apple, and walnut swfs are useless on their own unless they are loaded into main application.
RSL approach is not only about loading efficiencies but also about deployment and maintainability.
Let's assume you discover a bug in Food class or make some changes that are not pertaining to these three subclasses. If you don't use RSL - you will need to recompile all three. With RSL you just need to recompile main swf only.

  • Odd "Pong" Noise from MacBook Pro

My new MacBook Pro makes a very strange "pong" noise extremely sporadically. The sound seems to be coming from just next to the trackpad on the right-hand side of the machine. By way of description, I would say it sounds like a tennis ball being hit. It's very faint, and not that big of a problem. I'm just curious as to what is causing it and if it can be fixed.
Searching the 'net. I only found one other reference to the sound http://forums.appleinsider.com/archive/index.php/t-69355.html . Anyone have any ideas?

My fix worked. It's funny--there are a lot of complaints about this noise across the net and a lot of people saying the MacBook is the noisiest computer around because of this pong. But I never would have heard the noise on my old Toshiba. It's because the MacBook Pro is nearly silent that I could hear this faint table tennis game going on under the hood.

  • Stuck in Darwin/BSD - Michael Conniff?

this is a shout-out to michael conniff, if you're out there (well, tomorrow am in london!) i've tried to follow all your post re. this: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4550428 as well as a few others and i'm still stuck. here's what i've done to date:

if you have a moment, could you let me know if you see anything wacky in those lines or if i should keep looking. in an aside, i'm also trying to attach my powerbook to the sick powermac (re. above) in target mode, to backup in case of the worst, without success. (i can see DW so i know i'm in the target zone, it's just not recognizing the HD). let me know if you have any tricks up your sleeve about that?! thank you, thank you! in advance. cw
p.s. a heck of a tennis game you fine people put on today!

I'm trying to fix my husband's ibook. It's also doing the Darwin/BSD thing. I did everything posted here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=1553062
And I ended up with the result noted by Leah(?)--I get a repeating blue screen. Looks/acts like it's booting. I get the Apple, status bar, then blue screen, changes shades, but keeps repeating about 3 separate shades of blue with a quick status circle in between.
When I go into Darwin and do one of the checks Michael suggested, it tells me repeatedly that Setup Assistant crashed. I finally reached a point where I was willing to reinstall. My husband doesn't store anything on his system--just uses it for Internet and e-mail, so no great loss could occur even in a worst case. He may need to reinstall some e-mail addresses, favorites, etc., but nothing major.
BUT, I can't get the thing to boot from a the install disk 1! The computer won't recognize the disk. I tried holding down C. No go. I tried option--and here's the weird thing. The hard drive for the system shows up, but NOT the CD! I tried CMD-OPT-SHIFT-DELETE, and I got the folder/flashing question mark alternating symbols. Basically, the system recognizes the hard drive, but won't boot from it. And although I hear the CD clicking and whirring in the drive, it won't read the disk as a recognizable drive...?
We'll likely bring it in tomorrow, because I'm out of ideas. I was actually going to try to unplug the HD and see if the CD would then read (based on a MacZone article I came across), but when I saw the schematic online for mucking with an ibook, that was way out of my league as someone who has only monkey-ed with desktops before.
Anyway--I don't mind reformatting. That would be totally fine. But is there any way I can achieve that at this point? Or is it off to the shop in the a.m.?
    Thanks!

  • How can I disable Game Center in iOS6 if I don't want to go public?

Even with all notifications and banners, etc., turned ofgf for Game Center, some games still demand a SignIn/Out before allowing play. I don't want to compete with other users, and don't care how well they play either. There should be a general Opt-Out that works for us curmudgeons.

I just wanted to play Backgammon tonight. It looped through the signin pages ten times before I could. Forcing Game Center on me just insures that I won't every buy another game...
