Terminal.app won't return window to default size with open tab

I regularly have multiple Terminal.app windows open with multiple tabs open in them. If I have a window open with no tabs, I can drag scale the window to whatever size is convenient for me at the moment, then use the Window > Return to Default Size function to make it go back to my default size configured in the app preferences.
The problem comes when I have a window open that is already scaled to a different size and I open a tab. This resets the default size to whatever size the window was when the tab was opened. The result is that if I use the Window > Return to Default Size function, it does nothing, unless the window has been scaled again, then it resets the window size to what it was when the tab was opened, not the default size configured in my preferences.
Is this a feature, or a bug? Is there a way I can make it retain the default size dimensions even when I've opened a tab?

I would solve the problem by resizing after closing the added tab. However, your inquiry is really beyond my abilities. Questions do get answered in these forums; sometimes not, in which case resorting to Apple Support _may_ resolve the issue. Have you checked out posting under "Mac OS X Technologies"? I believe there are Unix sections to that forum. Good luck.

Hi! Question about setting default size when opening existing PDF's.

The pdf documents i download all seem to open up at 202% size. Is there a way to set my default size (for opening and reading documents) to something smaller, so I don't have to always use the magnifying tool to shrink them? Thanks!

Under Preferences | Page Display, set Zoom to 100% or whatever you would like to open it with.

Terminal.app won't display OpenType fonts (.otf)

Where the characters should be, blanks are displayed. This is a serious problem for me because, while I use Monaco in my terminal, the fallback font for Japanese characters is Hiragino, which is an OpenType font: as a result, Japanese text is not visible in my terminal.

Note that, since I set the system's language to Japanese, most of the text in Terminal's preferences is also invisible.
The problem only seems to occur in Terminal.app, and does not affect other users on the same machine (I tried logging in as guest). It occurs with all OpenType fonts I tried, not just Japanese ones.
Strangely, if I delete Terminal's preferences, the problem almost disappears (except that it still says ル in the window's title bar instead of ターミナル); however, if I close and relaunch Terminal, the problem immediately reoccurs, even though the preferences file is pristine.
I tried resetting the ATS cache (atsutil databases -remove) and restarting in safe mode, but the problem still occurs. I've tried googling around, and I found some other people mentioning the same problem, but no solution. Can you help?

I've got the same problem with my new MBP 2011 with Snow Leopard and it really annoys me as I'm dealing with multilingual texts every day.
What surprises me is that I had no problems at all since MacOs 10.1 and now it appears in 10.6 !
Back in the old days I had to put a .inputrc file for displaying Japanese characters but that was not a big deal.
When I create a new account, it works for a few hours (Japanese characters display well even with menlo or courier fonts set as default). But after a few manipulations here and there (that do not seem related to terminal or fonts like setting my iTunes account) and a couple of reboots, the problem reappears again, ie the Japanese characters do not display again.
I can temporarily solve the problem by using the Osaka font but 1 it is not nicely displayed with irregular spaces between characters and 2 when I want to display other characters (thai, khmer or whatever), I have to change the default font again. This is a real pain in the neck.
I read in another thread that there is a solution to convert the OpenType Font you wish to use into a TrueType font but it is not a solution for me neither as there is no existing font that covers all the unicode characters.
Is Apple aware of this bug? Did they acknowledge that there is a problem?
If someone finds a solution, I'll be really happy.

My Apps won't update on my iPhone 4 with iOS6

I strated to updated all my Apps, through the App Store App on my phone - usually it would do this via the wifi slowly app by app. But not this time. It just said they were all waiting!
So I updated all the Apps in my itunes on my PC, but they won't update on my iphone (4) with iOS6.
During the sync it says it is installing on all of the Apps that need updates (now about 20 as have been trying for days to sort out) get half way through the 'installing process' and then when the sync has 'finished' all the updating apps are half way through and just stop.
Have tried to delete apps on handset in order to reload but won't let me, as it says they are all waiting.....
Help this is driving me mad and I cant use things like my dropbox app which I need for work as it is waiting to update.....
A message pops up saying: Unable to Dowmload Applications 'Dropbox and 18 other applications could not be installed at this time.

How popup window maximize default when it opens

Hi,
I am making one interactive alv report.
When i click on a record i am opening that record entries as a pop up window.
Now my requirement is when popup window open by default it should open in maximize screen.
I have tried to set the second view screen size maximum width and height..that does not worked..

This is a problem with the app "Run Keeper" not iOS itself or your phone. Report your problem to the App developers.

Tab groups - set default size of single tab group in a window?

When I have a single tab group in a window, and enter the tab-group-view-mode (the one for which ctrl-shift-e is the default), the tab group box only fills up a limited portion of the upper left corner of the window.
I can of course resize it with the mouse, but how can I set it to fill up the whole space by default?

I know its all open, in the past you could add a style sheet to the file grabbing the styles Reference[http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2443805] but I am not sure if this is supported anymore?

If you open the size of the Group tab is should stay that size, I do not think there is a way to change the default size yet.

I have Finder windows with multiple tabs that I would like to be able to close, if necessary, and reopen with the same tabs open. Is that possible? How?

Thanks, but that doesn't do what I want. I would like to be able to somehow save a combination of tabs so I could close it (while keeping the Finder open) and then reopen it. I think the only way to effectively do what I want is to minimize the window instead of closing it.

I uninstalled netflix app from my ipad, then reinstalled and now it won't even open nor does the app show up on my list of apps, I can't reinstall it since it shows I purchased it already but won't do anything when I press the "open" tab.

First thing to try is Reset the Type Tool by right-clicking on its' icon in the Options bar.

Make windows a default size?

any way to make the finder windows always the same size you've adjusted them to? It's to small when it opens and then I have to re-size it every time....

The problem is, Apple screwed-up the Finder in Leopard. It used to ALWAYS work that any size or position or view style you set for a window the Finder ALWAYS remembered. Simple, no effort required. Now it either always forgets, or sometimes remembers, or who knows what, no one can figure out the weird behavior of the new Finder.
My friend has a brand-new mini, and the other a brand-new MacBook Pro. Both came pre-installed with Leopard. Both have the brain-dead Finder. How did Apple break a feature that's been in EVERY Finder since...I don't know, the original Classic Mac Finder? Go tell Apple they messed-up:

Having problems with App Store and apps won't show on desktop or don't open

When I go to the App Store I download a application it downloads all the way the download is finish now it says open but when you tap open it don't open anything it don't even show on the home screen

Could it be on a different screen?

New Window from "FILE- NEW-WINDOW" duplicates all the currently open tabs in the new window. I want new window with just the "Home" tab please?

Running Firefox 3.6.13 on 64Bit Win7.
I like to group tabs on a topic in a window, and when the tabs get to be too many, or a new topic, I do FILE->NEW-WINDOW and expect a new window with just one default (Home) tab. Instead I get a new window with ALL the tabs of the first window.
I have checked all the Options I could find. Nothing helped. I CAN make a new Window with just one tab if I right-click a link and say "Open in NEW Window".

A new window should only open with the home page(s).<br />
If you see differently then you need to check your extensions.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
