Terminal profiles for multiple shells

I'm a Unix geek, and in prior versions of OS X I've had profiles set up in Terminal.app to run with multiple shells, aside from just the default shell associated with my user account.  So, for instance, I have profiles named Bash, Ksh, and Zsh, that run those as login shells ... or at least I did until Yosemite.
The profile options in Terminal.app have changed in Yosemite, specifically with the removal of the option to run a non-default login shell.  I could get around that with /usr/bin/login -f <username> /bin/<othershell> [-l], but in the case of /bin/ksh, at least, I haven't been able to find a command line that will invoke ksh directly as a login shell and source /etc/profile.
If I leave the "run inside shell" checkbox checked, I can use the command exec /bin/ksh -l and have /etc/profile sourced, but of course I get the remnants of the bash environment in my exec'd shell.
What magic incantations can I use to just get Terminal profiles to work again for multiple login shells?

Hi,
If your project is running in all company codes then you create a single Project Profile and dont default company code and Plant ,while creating the WBSE enter the company code and Plant for that WBSE.
Else if you have separate projects in company codes then create 15 Project profile /Company code and default the company code in Project Profile.
Thanks,
Muzamil

There is three things important While you working with custom member ship and FBA to work.
    1. If you have developed Custom membership extending SQLServerMembership provider then make sure to check for Machine Key. as internally if usese combincation of this to encrypt password, so if you used first userid using some other method of creating user
then probably it does not use machine key in that configuration file.
    2. if you doing brand new implementation from base classes you probably want to check your query & stored Procedure. make sure to run sql profiler to see what query is getting fired.
    3. this one is most least and mostly not will be problem but do check Application Name,
Note: Key to get this working is Machine key, Application Name, your custom code revisit, sql profiler and you should be good,
Also do review FBA Code from CodePlex you can save significant time in developing from scratch.

  • Changing the display profile for multiple users at once.

Is it possible to change the display profile for multiple users at once? We would like ot be able ot add tabs and channels globally, but right now we can anly do it for once user at a time. Also, is it possible to have certain generic display profiles that all users use? like an admin profile and a tech support profile and a normal suer profile? Any help is appreciated...

Yes this possible using the dpadmin batch command.
Please check the dpadmin documentation for the batch command.
For generic display profile what you can do is create users and assign the user particular roles. The display you would be creating would be for the roles. The users belonging to that role would inherit that display profile.

  • How to change path of Users Terminal Services Profile for multiple AD users on server 2003?

Hello experts. I am working on a file server migration. All data has been migrated, I am currently working on redirecting users to the new file server. I
am able to select multiple users at once in ADUC -> right-click -> properties -> profile and here I can change the home folder and roaming profile path for each all users to point towards the new file server.
The issue I have run in to is that we have roaming profiles for terminal services users. So, there are hundreds of users that have their terminal services profile
configured in AD -> Right-click user (one at a time) -> properties -> terminal services profile. Here, the profile path is configured for each user as \\OLDserver\Profiles\%username%
and I need to change it to \\NEWserver\profiles\%username%.
I know that you can configure this path via group policy, I set up a GPO; Computer / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Terminal Services / “Set Path
for TS Roaming Profiles” as \\NEWserver\profiles and applied this GPO to an OU containing the TS servers.
The problem is, the GPO is not working... When I log in to the TS and add a document to My Documents, it is still saving under \\OLDserver\profiles\Username.
So, the settings in AD are trumping the GPO I believe. What is the best way to accomplish my goal? Thanks in advance!

    > to change it to \\NEWserver\profiles\%username%.
That is "profile" in opposite to...
    > add a document to My Documents, it is still saving under
    > \\OLDserver\profiles\Username.
...this one which is Folder Redirection and has NOTHING to do with
    server based profiles.
    > So, the settings in AD are trumping the GPO I believe.
No, it isn't. When you do not enable FR and you access "Documents", you
will never see an UNC path but the local c:\users\xyz\documents folder.

  • How to alter the default profile for multiple users

I am trying to alter the default profile assigned to users during user creation to a new profile. I know to change the profile for one user using the syntax
    alter user abc profile profileabc
The issue I have is that there are 100's of users under default profile and changing for each of them manually would be difficult. The approach that I see is to write a shell script where I connect to the db and get a list of all the users with default profile. Then I loop through the file making connection to the db each time and executing the alter statement.
Please help if you think that there can be a more efficient approach to this.

  • One Wireless Profile for Multiple Sites

    Hello,
I was wondering if someone can help me get my head around what I am trying to do and whether or not it is even possible.  The goal is to give our users the ability to go to any of our locations (which are connected via circuits) with a Cisco 7925 phone and have it function.  So in essence we want to have a single Network Profile so the user doesn't need to do anything to the phone for it to function if the move between locations.  We are using a 5508 Controller w/ 3502 APs.
So at our main location I have an SSID created, which is bound to an interface I created on the controller in our Voice VLAN.  This works great, the phones pickup an IP in the block and everything functions as it should.  My confusion is how do I create the same SSID / security parameters for each of our other locations, so if they leave our main site with the phone and goto the other location it sees the SSID, associates and then picks up an IP address in the Voice VLAN at the other location?  What confuses me is the AP / controller seem to handle all the DHCP requests, so even if I have a ip helper-address on say the routers interface it isn't actually being forwarded from the router, it is coming from whatever interface is bound to the WLAN on the controller.  I'm sure I didn't explain this well, I'm not looking for a step by step guide maybe just some pointers as to examples or what I need to study up on to accomplish this.  Thank you very much for all your time.

If this other location is not deemed remote (with a slower WAN link), then you may want to look into utilizing AP groups vs H-REAP.
AP groups would allow you to specify which SSIDs and associated VLANs are enabled per AP group. Then just add the necessary APs (e.g. APs in BLDG-2) to that group (e.g. BLDG-2).
But also depends on where you want the client subnet terminated.
With AP groups or H-REAP central switching the client subnet would terminate at the central location where the WLC is located.
With H-REAP local switching, the client subnet would terminate locally where the AP resides.
Central switching just means all data will be sent back to the WLC, where local switching means that the data will be routed out locally.
To me, AP groups are easier to configure as the config is done at the AP group and then just a matter of putting the AP in that group.
With H-REAP, you have to configure the AP, H-REAP group including adding the AP to the group as well as SSID config if wanting local switching.

  • How to configure oracle listener profile for multiple oracle database

    Hi,
I am going to install solution manager system in the same server of ERP EHP4 on Windows. Both DB are oracle.
I'd like to know how to configure listener in this kind of envirnmonent.
    a. use two listener and different ports
    b. use same listener but different ports
    c. use same listener and same port
    Which is the correct mothed?
And, after installation, there seem three set of profiles of listten, one for ERP, one for SLM, and the other for OS?(%windir%system32), which one is functional?
    Please advise.
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Alex

    Hi,
standard installation is creating new configs for listener for each instance.
I would recommend to use one listener per each instance.
YOU CAN NOT HAVE one port number for two differnet systems!
If you want to use one listener than you must adapt tnsnames.ora, listener.ora and ensure that both systems will use different port numbers.
    For example PORT= 15<system number>

  • Relative path for Download directory folder.I created a firefox profile and i wanted to use this profile in multiple machines.I wanted to use a relative path for download directory with respect to the profile folder.I need this on Linux machines

I have a use case where I need to use different download directories with different firefox profiles.I need to use this profiles in multiple linux machines.
I need to have a relative path to my download directory with respect to the profile folder.
Ex: I have a selenium test which opens a website and downloads it to my machine.I want this downloaded file to go into some specific folder relative to this profile folder. How do I do this??

That is not a practically empty xinitrc - that file only needs one line: exec WM.  Other things are entirely optional, and some of them very useful, but I'd encourage you to stick with the simplest xinitrc that will do what you require.
Is slim involved?  Probably.  That is the source of many problems.  But to start narrowing this down, I have 3 suggestions:
    1) temporarily (at least) change your inittab to default to runlevel 3 ... actually, is it currently set to 5 or 3? if it is currently 3 that would explain why slim doesn't start.
    2) at a tty in runlevel 3 use "xinit" instead of "startx".  Startx is fine most of the time, but it is essentially just a complex wrapper for xinit.  That complexity can often iadd useful functionality, but it *always* makes troubleshooting more difficult.  So for now just use a vanilla 'xinit'.
    3) remove dbus-launch from your exec line in xinitrc.  This is done by console-kit so it is redundant and potentially problematic.  Further BOTH of these are taken care of by slim, so I'd even suggest getting both a jump start on being ready for slim and simplifying troubleshooting by removing both of them.  Just make that line "exec openbox-session"
    Edit: adding one more:
    4) temporarily switch out openbox-session for openbox.  I suspect the reason feh's setting of the background is getting overridden is due to a script or setting in openbox's autostart settings - many of these are only invoked when "openbox-session" is called, while "openbox" starts *just* the window manager itself.

  • Multiple AVC Profile for each SSID

    Hello,
I know there is limitation on the number of ACLs in each AVC profile, but is there a way to build multiple profiles and link it to the same SSID?
    thanks,

    Hi Sandeep,
thanks for your reply, I think Cisco should consider allowing provisioning multiple profile for each SSID as the number of applications that needs block are exceeding each profile..
I do have Guest SSID and I want to block everything using AVC, due to it's limitation, this cannot be achieved.
    Thanks,

  • How to set up multiple profiles for an Express?

My wife is visiting her mother for a couple weeks and the idea is for her to take one of our Expresses with her so she can use wifi while she's there. I was told that the best way to do this is to set up a second profile for 'Travel' on the Express that she'll be taking with her, so she can use that, and not have to change the settings we have for it at home.
I can't figure out how to do this. Anybody know?
    Thanks!!

    Meetoo wrote:
Not much. But there isn't that much to know I wouldn't think. All there is is her mother's PC, which is hooked up online via some kind of modem. That's it. Think 1995, except high speed I guess.
I'm sending my wife there armed with two ethernet cables, a netgear ethernet switcher, and an Express. I was hoping that she could just plug the express into the switcher, find it in the airport utility, and do the 'create a wireless network' option, and hopefully it would guide her through it. Do you think it'll be that easy, or are there problems ahead for her?
What do you propose that she connect the "Netgear Ethernet switcher" to? She can't connect the switch directly to that modem unless the modem has router functionality. If she connects the Express to that modem, how the Express needs to be configured depends on whether the mother has (a) cable service or DSL service with the modem handling the sign-on (PPPoE connection) on one hand or (b) she has DSL service with a "downstream" device (in this case her computer) handling the sign-on. If this arrangement would work, there's no available Ethernet port on the Express to use to connect the mother's computer, so unless that computer has wireless capability, it would be offline.
It would help if you could learn what ISP the mother is using and what modem (brand and model) is involved.

  • How to create mandatory (read-only) profile for Terminal Services user (HP Thin Client) on Server2003... aaarrgghhh!

I've been tearing my hair out for a couple of days now...
I'm trying to create a mandatory profile for users logging in from hp thin clients on a 2003 server at a school.
I've set up a prototype user, then copied the proto user's NTUSER.DAT to NTUSER.MAN and renamed
    NTUSER.DAT to NTUSER.DAT_unused.
At that point, logging in as the prototype user looks ok.  It was my understanding that renaming NTUSER.DAT to NTUSER.MAN would make it a mandatory profile, and the user (in this case the proto user) would be unable to change it.  However, in this
case the user can still modify the desktop and those modifications are preserved across logins.  The NTUSER.MAN file is being updated, judging by the timestamp changes.
    What am I missing?
I've tried putting the NTUSER.MAN in the user's dir on the server
     (C:\Documents and Settings\ProtoUser),
in the DefaultUser, and in AllUsers.
Right now I'm getting a default, unmodifiable profile which I have no idea where it comes from.
In case it matters, the original user and directory tree from which the NTUSER.MAN I'm trying to use has been deleted, but I wouldn't think that should matter.
For example, I have the option to not show the security tab set in the group policy, but it is showing up.
The Start menu is showing as the classic start menu, and I had it set for the "new" (2 column) one.
I've got hide network places on the desktop set, but it's showing up.
Is there a way to tell where a profile is coming from?
I'm pretty confused at this point; any clarifications / tips would be much appreciated.
    Related questions:
If both an NTUSER.DAT and an NTUSER.MAN exist, which is used?
If no profile is found for a user in the normal place, what happens?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
A mandatory user profile is a special type of pre-configured roaming user profile that administrators can use to specify settings for users. With mandatory user profiles, a user can modify his or her desktop, but the changes are not saved when the user
logs off. The next time the user logs on, the mandatory user profile created by the administrator is downloaded. There are two types of mandatory profiles: normal mandatory profiles and super-mandatory profiles.
User profiles become mandatory profiles when the administrator renames the NTuser.dat file (the registry hive) on the server to NTuser.man. The .man extension causes the user profile to be a read-only profile.
User profiles become super-mandatory when the folder name of the profile path ends in .man; for example, \\server\share\mandatoryprofile.man\.

  • PS6; print; PS print settings; color management; printer profile: how to get paper profile to "stick" for multiple prints of same paper type, ie Matte. Mine reverts to Luster as the default.

    see question

    Hola Gustavo,
your task is for me not quite clear. I can see two scenarios:
    a) Calibrate the press for  ISONewspaper26v4 ink (your standard process) on salmon colored paper.
Print the target by press on this paper, measure and build the profile. There is no problem so far.
But preparing CMYK data with this profile for printing by press requires a very complicated gamut
compression, becauses the gamut of the actual process on salmon paper is small and excentric
in Lab. As mentioned in my previous post.
    b) Simulate the appearance of press prints on salmon paper, disregarding the salmon color by profiles.
This shall be done in your case by a toner printer.
The toner printer has to be calibrated with white paper. As a result one gets a valid Printer Profile.
The proof printing happens for a CMYK file, for instance a PDF/X-1a file so:
        Input profile: ISONewspaper26v4
        Output profile: Printer Profile
        Printed on salmon paper!
The printer profiling converts the toner printer into a more or less reliable proof printer. This has nothing
        to do with colored paper.

  • Action profile for send email to multiple partners

    Hi
i need to send Smartforms mail using action profile to all partners assigned in the partners tab.
Is there some standard way of doing it other than creating partner dependent  action profile for each partner?
    Thanks
    Itty

    hi Itty,
based on my knowledge and experience, there is 2 ways for sending a smartforms via mail in action, ie :
    1. using smartforms mail
    2. using method.
for option 1, only can be send to one target only. therefore usually i used the option 2.
in option 2 basically you create an implementation class from defenition class EXEC_METHODCALL_PPF.
the implementation class basically just a program, so in this implementation class you can get all the partners in the partners tab using function modul CRM_ORDER_READ and get all recipient mail, generate the smartforms and send it as attachment to all mail target.
    hopes it helps
    cheers
