TerminalServices-SessionBroker not reconnecting to existing session

I have 1 SessionBroker configured as dedicated farm redirector for a farm of 6 TerminalServices-SessionHosts. The TerminalServices-SessionHosts are configured in GPO where I specify RD Connection Broker farm name and RD Connection Broker server name.
Join RD Connection Broker, Use IP Address Redirection, Use RD Connection Broker load balancing. Restrict each user to a single session are all enabled. All TerminalServices-SessionHosts are added to the local group Session Broker-computers on the SessionBroker
computer. KB2536840 and KB2661332 are installed on the SessionBroker and all SessionHosts.
When users without existing sessions on the farm log on to the SessionBroker, they wil be correctly redirected to 1 of the TerminalServices-SessionHosts. Sessions are spread evenly.
When a user does have a disconnected session and reconnects to the SessionBroker, a new session is started. In EventViewer I see ID 801: Disconnected Session Found = 0x0
Why is the disconnected session not reconnected?

Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Please check below setting in the GPO applied to that server:
Computer configuration > Policies > Administrative templates > Windows Components > Terminal Services > Sessions >Allow reconnection from original client only
Alternatively, you can also check the setting “set a disconnected session time limit” applied , so that disconnected session will be logged off after some period of time.
In addition, please try beneath Hotfix which describe the almost same issue as of yours.
You are not redirected to the previously-disconnected terminal server session through the TS Session Broker service in a Windows Server 2008-based farm in TS Session Broker

Hope it helps!

  • Terminalserver Session Broker not reconnecting to existing session

    Hi!
    Following scenario:
    Terminalserver-Farm
    2x RemoteDesktopServer (Windows Server 2008R2)
1x TS Session Broker (Windows Server 2008)
A user connects to TS-Farm -> occasionally it happens that he is redirected to (for example) TS2, even if he has an active session on TS1. There is no error message displayed on the client. Subsequently he has 2 sessions, allthough the setting on the Session
Broker is set to "allow only 1 session per user". Interestingly this happens to 2 users only - both are the only ones working on Windows 8 clients (other users are on Win7).
Any ideas how to track down the problem? I don't see the correlation with Windows 8 clients at all.
    Best Regards,
    Stefan

    Hi!
Affected are ThinClients with RDP 5.2 - it's still working on one of the 2008R2, not on the 2nd.
I used network monitor to see traffic from an XP-Thin Client to both Terminalservers. I can see (but not understand): "T125:Disconnect Provider Ultimatum, rn-user-requested" in line 27 at the non-working Terminalserver
Client -> TS 2008R2 with working RDP:

  • RemoteApps still reconnecting to disconnected sessions, disableconnectionsharing:i:1 changes nothing.

I have a scenario where multiple users run a 2008R2 remoteapp, and they all use the same windows credentials.  Multiple sessions is enabled, and I have it set to immediate logoff when the remoteapp is disconnected, and set to 1 minute logoff (the
minimum) when any remote desktop sessions are disconnected.  In the remoteapp manager I have disableconnectionsharing:i:1 keyed in the custom rdp settings box, and I have this set in the icons as well.
With all this in place, users should never be rejoining anyone else's sessions.  I thought it was all working fine until users started complaining that they were rejoining other people's sessions, and feared that users could possibly rejoin to their own.
I tested a bunch of scenarios and I can make it happen.  If User1 x's out of his session, logs off, or closes the app, it logs out the session just fine and can never be rejoined.  But, if he loses his internet, or for some reason the connection
is severed such as someone pulled his ethernet cable out, it will put the session into a disconnected state.  This disconnected session is supposed to log itself off after 1 minute, but doesn't always.  I can't make this happen myself, but I've seen
sessions that are there and they never go away.  But the real problem is, when there is a disconnected session still left there, User2 logs in and it joins to User1's session for him.  Even though I have disableconnectionsharing:i:1 in the rdp settings,
and in the rdp icon itself, it still reconnects the existing session every time.  What am I missing here?

I've done a lot more testing, and on multiple servers, so it's not just this one server.   In the local policy under Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Session
    Time Limits,   I have the following;
Set time limit for disconnected sessions -  "Enabled"  End a disconnected session "1 minute"
Terminate session when time limits are reached "Enabled"
Set time limit for logoff of RemoteApp sessions "Enabled" "Immediately"
These settings work well, and they usually log off the sessions within one minute.  It's not perfect 100% of the time, I've seen sessions that never end before, but it's good enough.  Let's just say it works 99% of the time.  The problem isn't
that sessions don't close, the problem is that you can rejoin ANY disconnected session even though the icons are set to always start a new session.  The session time limits should keep this to a minimum since the users only have a 1 minute window to reconnect
to a disconnected session, but it is still 1 minute, and a reconnect will happen eventually given the amount of people that connect to this server.
My rdp icon (edited with notepad) has the setting disableconnectionsharing:i:1
The server's custom rdp settings has disableconnectionsharing:i:1
If there is a disconnected session lingering out there, it may be only for a minute, but if anyone connects to the server within that time, it ALWAYS takes over that existing session.  It is my understanding from Microsoft, 3rd parties, and forums, that
this disableconnectionsharing setting is supposed to eliminate this issue. That's it's whole purpose. But it does not actually do anything.  It changes nothing.  What is it used for then?
Maybe I'm using the wrong setting.  If so, what is the proper setting so that when you log in remotely, it will always start a new session?

Is there a configuration option that would default to reconnect to MWA (using R12 EBS version 12.1.2 )via an existing session instead of asking Yes/No to reconnect ?

Are you referring to the message you get when the session timeout? If yes, then I believe there is no way to achieve this except for increasing the timeout (which I think you do not want to implement). You may log a SR to confirm this with Oracle support.

  • Could not reconnect all network drives

I have several drives mapped on different Windows 7 boxes in my office.  Just about every time I boot up one of these systems I receive the message "Could not reconnect all network drives" in the system tray.
I should note that merely clicking the drive inside Windows Explorer will restore the connection.  I store the server logon credentials in Control Panel / Credential Manager then just map the network paths to drive letters.  I'm pretty sure the
problem doesn't stem from any credentials type of problem though, because I have the exact same situation when connecting to only open shares.  I have noticed that a couple applications will restore the connection themselves when trying to access information
on a share.  Most applications however will give an error and time out trying to access the shares unless I go and manually click each drive letter in Explorer.  For instance if I place Firefox bookmarks on a share and open Firefox, Firefox will
display no bookmarks until I click the drive in Explorer and reopen Firefox.
One thing I can do to fix the problem is hard code my IP address. I never receive the message if a computer has fixed IP address.  My router hands out IPs on the LAN dynamically, so I switch it to another router and tried a using a Linux based dhcp-server
as well.  Neither fixed the problem.
I'm a long time user of batch files and realize I could place use one as a band aid for this issue, but I don't want to go that route.

    Hello marstech,
According to the research, the mapped drive lost issue may be caused by the several possible reasons:
Possible reason1. The problematic client doesn't reconnect to the target share at logon.
Please follow the steps to re-configure the mapped driver on the client and then check if the issue will re-occur.
    Steps:
    a. Open "My Computer"
    b. Click on "Tools" and then select "Map Network Driver"
    c. input the \\ipaddressofserver\sharename to give the path of the share
    d. Check "Reconnect at logon"
    e. Drive gets mapped
    f. Double click on the drive to check.
Possible Reason 2. Antivirus software or Windows Firewall may block the SMB protocol on clients.
Please check if there is any Antivirus software and the Windows Firewall is enabled on the problematic client. If so, please disable them to check if the issue can be resolved.
Possible Reason3. Fast Logon Optimization is enabled on the clients.
The fast logon feature may affect the display and drive letter assignment of a mapped network drive. As a result, the drive may have been mapped; however, the user on client cannot see it in Windows Explorer. He may recognize it as a failed network drive mapping.
This is the reason why we usually suggest you to disable fast logon on the clients via a GPO, and please check if the mapped network drive will be occur under this circumstance.
Please also configure the following group policy setting to disable Fast Logon Optimization to see if the issue still exists on the problematic clients.
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon\Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon
When this policy is enabled, a Windows XP client behaves in the same manner as a Windows 2000 client at both system startup and at user logon.
Please note: As this is a computer configuration, please run "Gpupdate /force" and then reboot the problematic clients to make it take into effect.
For more information about Fast Logon Optimization feature, please check the following KB article.
305293 Description of the Windows XP Professional Fast Logon Optimization feature
    http://support.microsoft.com/?id=305293

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/831998
297684 Mapped Drive Connection to Network Share May Be Lost
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297684
If the issue still exists on the problematic clients, please also try adding the following registry subkey on the problematic client to check it works.
    Steps:
    a. Click Start, click Run, type REGEDIT, and then click OK.
    b. Locate and click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\NetCache
    c. Click Edit, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
    d. Type SilentForcedAutoReconnect , and then press ENTER to name the value.
    e. Double-click SilentForcedAutoReconnect .
    f. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any concen.
Hope the information can be helpful for you.

  • AirBrowser - How to clear existing session value?

    Hi,
We face the below mentioned problem. Would be great if someone could help us.
Due to problems with uploading the attachment here, please send a email to the following email-id ([email protected]) and I shall send the attachment in response.
WEBKit Browser is using existing session data. Browser retains session history and is a security concern.
    * Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Install AirBrowser.air and execute code.
    2. First go to yahoomail.com and login to an email account.
    3. In URL type Google.com
    4. After the page gets loaded, click browser "Back". Yahoo email Session will still be retained.
    * Actual Result:
    Yahoo Login Session is maintained
    * Expected Result:
Yahoo Login Session to be cleared. Or, Warning Page should be shown.
    * Any Workarounds: None
    Thanks in advance.

After looking at your code, the behaviour you're experiencing is expected.
AIR uses the webkit browser and therefore when you open a web page (like in your example) you are essentially opening a page in a browser within your application.  The web server defines a unique session ID for your visit (and stores cookies etc).  When you goto Yahoo, then visit google, then go back to yahoo, the cookies or session continue to identify you and therefore yahoo automatically takes you to your mail or other yahoo specific page.
The last I checked, AIR cookies are operating system cookies.  At present I think IE also stores it's cookies that way.  So clearing IE's cookies should affect Adobe AIR as well.  (This behaviour is not so well documented and it's one of the places I hope the docs improve upon.)
If your application was for a public internet terminal you would want to warn people to logout of their accounts before leaving the system.   (However this kind of warning would be standard anyway I would hope.)
    I hope that helps

  • My Time Capsule does not work with existing WiFi

Following a question solved on March 24 by LaPastenague, but gone bad again.
    Apple AirPort Time Capsule
I felt the need for a physical backup of my data, as I would not completely trust the different clouds. I use, and have used Dropbox for 4-5 years and are very satisfied with that, but I am still not sure if or when a political lunatic will shut off the internet.
I purchased the Apple AP Time Capsule 2T, because all my other stuff are Apple, and that it's wireless. My old backup is Maxtor 300 GB.
Since we stay 2-3 weeks on two locations, one in Norway and one in Sweden (two different countries) we must use Mobile Broadband 4G, cables or fibre connections are useless for us, and we don't have it up to the houses. I have one mini router for each country, we bring with us iPhones, iPads, iMac, Apple TV, APExpress. When we pass the boarder I change the mini router, and the system continues working perfect on the WiFi, except the APExpress that needs to be reconfigured,  but then it works.
The APTC was difficult to make working as it would not accept to be in an existing network, but with good help from the Apple Community, LaPastenague, with forcing the TC connect to the APE with Ethernet cable in bridge mode, ref "My Time Capsule does not work with existing WiFi" from March 24, the problem was solved and all gadgets worked together in a perfect harmony, until we changed location.
Now, as I have my second WiFi network, and the APExspress is reconfigured, it's like the TC thinks, I am the base boss here, I am not taking orders from APE one more time, and it simply does not work, not only that, it fluctuates all the time.
I have a slight feeling that the two WiFi bands are making the trouble as during the configuration of the TC sometime the last figure 6 and 7 pops up, and that has something two do with the two different 2,4 and 5 GHZ bands
So, I am curious if you have any idea ?
I am thinking of returning the TC if I don't make it work now, but how do I delete all the data that's on it?

I can deal with the last question first and easily.
I am thinking of returning the TC if I don't make it work now, but how do I delete all the data that's on it?
Open the airport utility .. go to the disk tab and select erase.
When you select erase you will get mulitiple options.
Quick removes the file table but does not delete the files,, it takes 2min or less.
A Zero out data is the secure way,, by writing 0 ie low level drive format.
    It can take several hours..
7 pass will take a week.. not recommended..
35 pass erase is ridiculous.. it would take a month.. put an ax through the TC. It is quick and better.
Now, as I have my second WiFi network, and the APExspress is reconfigured, it's like the TC thinks, I am the base boss here, I am not taking orders from APE one more time, and it simply does not work, not only that, it fluctuates all the time.
The fact that it did work and has now failed might point to faulty unit.
The only way to tell is reset it properly to factory and start over.
Universal Factory Reset.. any model TC or AE.
Unplug your TC/AE from power or turn off at the power point.
Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on..  all without releasing reset and keep holding in for about 10sec. (this is often difficult without a 2nd person or a 3rd arm).
Release it when the status light flashes rapidly. If it doesn’t flash rapidly you have missed it and try again.
    Note..
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations of the router.
No files are deleted on the hard disk in a TC.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
Generally having multiple wireless AP should not cause problems.. but it is better to set channels manually.. so it doesn't go beserk rotating channels.
Remember to keep all names short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Sadly though the Apple routers have no logging now and no SNMP and almost nothing to help diagnose a problem, so if it continues .. take it back to apple.. they have given you no other method of fixing it.

  • Wifi not reconnecting

    Hello,
2 Z10s (10.1.0.4181 - 10.1.0.4633) on different locations with 2 Fritz!box 7390 on 5Ghz with firmware 5.50. Worked a long time, then maybe 2-3 weeks ago problems started. Tablets are not affected so I suppose its our Z10s fault.
WiFi works, then I leave the location. After returning the connection wont get reestablished. No WiFi Network shown, turning WiFi on and off on the Phone will get me connected again but I dont think manual intervention is a solution. Any Ideas whats going on?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I´m very unhappy to broadcast my SSID all the time because an old android needs that. Changing to unsecure WEP is definitely not an option.
I deleted my WiFi-Network on the Z10 and set it up again. Nothing. Even tried to switch from 5 GHz to 2,5 GHz. Again no autoreconnect.
I also noticed that sometimes no other networks are showing. After switching off and on my neighbours networks are shown again. But on other times not reconnecting my Z10 shows some of them and after switching off and on there are 2-3 more. Their power is low, so I´m not sure its a rangeproblem.

  • Firefox will not open my previous session

Firefox 4 will not open any previous session once I shut down. I can have say 5 tabs open, close firefox, and reopen it and the session was saved. If I have those same 5 tabs open and shut down, then turn on my computer the next day, I can click on firefox, it will highlight the icon, and the highlight will disappear after about 5 seconds, and then I have to click it again, and it will open a totally new session. How do I fix this?

Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Browsing History" if Firefox is closed.

  • My iPhoto library has suddenly disappeared from my computer. When i click on iPhoto it tells me to choose my library or create a new one. However no library option appears. I have searched the computer for the library but it does not seem to exist

My iPhoto library has suddenly disappeared from my computer.
When i click on iPhoto it tells me to choose my library or create a new one. However no library option appears. I have searched the computer for the library but it does not seem to exist anymore. I did not have time machine set up, so there is no back up. Is there any way i can retrieve my library?
Here is a picture of what appears when i click on iPhoto:

In terms of searching i have searched for photos on my finder. However, none of the photos that appear are from my iPhoto Library.
Search with FindAnyFile. You can download it here:   http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/index.php
Search for any file with "ThumbJPGSegment" in the name. If you added at least one image to your library, the library should contain a file with this name, see OldToad's post: Re: Since I updated to iPhoto 9.5.1, my library is not listed or available. How can I find it? Can I use the time machine to restore it?

  • Some, but not all, podcasts existing on the iPod no longer appear in iTunes. Different podcasts have been affected at different times, after changes in the state of the iPod. Only podcasts are affected.

I have not seen this precise issue addressed anywhere. I don’t know if it’s an iTunes or an iPod problem:
    - Some, but not all, podcasts existing on the iPod no longer appear in iTunes;
this, after normal behavior for more than a year since purchase of the iPod.
    - Different podcasts have been affected at different times, after changes in the state of the iPod.
    - Only podcasts are affected.
    - This concerns an iPod nano 6th gen. and iTunes 11.0.2 (26) on System 10.6.8
    - The only change to iTunes, the Mac, or the iPod is that just before this condition began
I’d begun syncing an iPhone via iTunes.
I sync manually (“manually manage music and videos”). The first time this happened, I wanted to delete seventeen podcast episodes (all belonging to one podcast) existing on the iPod — but they didn’t show up in iTunes. I tried re-downloading them and re-syncing, to see if the new versions would somehow “re-link” to iTunes. They didn’t. Only one — new — episode appeared in iTunes.
I ultimately reset the iPod and manually resynced all the podcasts I currently had on iTunes. That worked, though I had to painstakingly add in all the other content deleted by the reset.
So: after that reset and manual sync, all podcasts and episodes on the iPod were visible to iTunes and I was able to delete the podcast and its — now 18 — episodes I’d wanted to get rid of to begin with. But the next time I connected the iPod, only 8 podcast episodes out of 21 episodes total existing on the iPod were visible to iTunes. These are different podcasts; I’d deleted the original “invisible” ones.
By “visible,” I mean in the “Podcasts” list view under “[name]’s iPod” in the iTunes sidebar. If I select “[name]’s” iPod in the iTunes sidebar and the “Podcasts” tab, all podcasts and episodes are visible, though greyed out because I’m set to sync manually. It’s unclear to me if these are the podcasts on the iPod or those currently in iTunes, as they are currently the same. If I switch to syncing automatically, all content on the iPod will be lost again, so I’m not up to trying it at the moment.
As I said,  this involves only podcasts. All other content on the iPod does appear in iTunes.

I have the same problem- i see my movies in the ipod section in itunes and they even show as mpeg4 in the 'kind' section but they dont have that small TV icon next to them. if i play these in itunes, they play fine- but try playing them on the ipod and all you hear is the sound and no picture. All videos that i manually transfer work fine in the beginning- its when i hook up the ipod to the comp again and start itunes- they start showing up without the 'tv' icon!! i have to again transfer them from the itunes library to activate them as videos.

    Hi all,
have you find a fix for this issue? Im facing the same situation, using Complex type, and String data type both in the service and Bi publisher. We are consuming CC&B services, and we have noticed this error appears when BIPublisher is running on WebLogic (10.3) but it does not appear when BIPublisher is running on OC4J , of course running the same report on both application servers.
    Any idea?
