  • Terminate a User session in the Portal

    Hello,
is it possible to terminate a user session.
I want to delete a user, but I get the following error log:
    - user delete failed
    - Cannot lock at least one of the 4 locks for the owner
What is necessary to perform, before I am able to delete the user?
    Thanks for your help!
    Best regards,
    Michael

    Michael,
I think there is a distinction between deleting a user, and a user session. If you want to delete a users session, object locks must be cleared first. Users, as you know are deleted on UME Admin. On NW2004s the UME Admin is now called Identity Management.

  • Terminate an User Session.

I am trying to terminate a User Session that is several months old.  I have tried searching SDN and have not found anything that applies or works.  I have also tried using SM04, SM50, and also SM66 to cancel the process, but have been unsuccessful in my attempts.   The other problem I have encountered when canceling the process is that a new process is started, going from 2 processes to now 4.   We do not have a Basis person as well, and it's been learn as you go and using whatever information I can find.    I am using version 4.7.   Thanks in advance.    If this is not in the correct forum, I ask the moderators to move this post to the appropriate forum as well.   I apologize if I have not been more active in the forums, but due to the economy and downsizing I am the only remaining SAP person here and don't have much time to use the forum as in the past.

    Hmmm... interesting...
My battle-plan would be to use Sm19 to activate a dynamic filter on the user for all events (particularly system and RFC calls and logins). You can do this even if the log is inactive (RZ11 -> rsau/enable ) but the filter will be kicked out again when you restart the system.
From there follow the procedure described in SAP Note 495911 to find out what is going on at runtime in the developer trace.
To lean out the window...:-)  I suspect that it is an external server program which is still running and is buggy to process something. Possibly the GUID function is not performing an existance check and then re-creating the session from the operating system and attempting to process previous session related data again but the program ID for the data which isn't there. Consider yourself lucky that it is not blocking all workprocesses...
If my guess is correct and there is nothing obvious in ST22, then in transaction SMGW there are also "expert" tracing options to track this down, but be carefull of which one you turn on in a production system. Via the menu you can find them. Search for the option "external security --> logging". It is not very intuitive... The option "Trace up" and "Trace down" is certainly wrong as it will increase the dev trace for all users without telling you which level it is on. (sorry, posting from memory).
    Cheers,
    Julius
ps: Before using transaction SMGW with "basis" type authorizations, you must read the documentation on the functions!

  • Terminate User Session

    Hi all,
I'm using FM TH_DELETE_USER to delete a user session, however this will terminate all sessions. Can anyone suggest a system function that will delete a specific user session?
    Thanks, Mark

    Hi ,
TH_DELETE_USER kills the sessions of the user. But there is no FM to delete the particular session.
But if you Debug SM50 you get some info.
i tried it i got this...
CALL 'ThWpInfo' ID 'OPCODE'   FIELD OPCODE_WP_DEL
                         ID 'WP_INDEX' FIELD WP_TABL_ALV-WP_INDEX.
in this program <b>RSMON000_ALV</b> you can find the code .

  • Terminate user session api

I need to write an app that allows a person to identify a user session and terminate it. Also, access manager may be clustered, so I'll need a way to access each machine name to check for sessions.
Could someone point the way to which api methods I should check out?
    Thx.

I know AM can do it... but the users won't have direct access to AM... that's why I need to figure out if any of the library API's allow access to that feature.

  • Kill User Sessions in Enterprise

I was told that there was some code here that would allow me to kill user sessions in BOE XI 3.1 SP3. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

If you have access to Service Market Place, you can search for KB 1468652.
It includes the following information, the code snippets are java code, you will just need to convert it to .NET:
This method was not supported in version XI R2, but it is supported in version XI 3.1.  The steps are:
    1. Retrieve the connection objects using the following query and determine the SI_ID of the connection you want to terminate.
    SELECT SI_ID, SI_USERID, SI_NAME, SI_LASTLOGONTIME FROM CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND = 'Connection' AND SI_FAILOVER_AVAILABLE_UNTIL = NULL AND SI_AUTHEN_METHOD != 'server-token' ORDER BY SI_NAME"
Do not delete any connections that use the server-token authentication method as those are used to communicate between servers (e.g. between the page server and cache server).
    2. Once you know the SI_ID, retrieve that specific infoobject and delete it.
    IInfoObjects oSessions = (IInfoObjects) iStore.query("SELECT SI_ID from CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE SI_ID =" + sessionID);
    IInfoObject oSession = (IInfoObject)oSessions.get(0);
    oSessions.delete(oSession);
    iStore.commit (oSessions);

  • SA520 web access problem, all admin users sessions appears active when it is not true

Hi, all the users for the management access to my SA520 are blocked via web, all the admin users sessions aparently they seem active, and when i do click on the "continue" button these sessions does not terminate. I guess i have to reset the firewall, but my question is if anybody has the same problem with this device.

    Hi Luis,
What firmware version are you running? How frequent do you see this occurrence?
If  possible, when you start to see this issue before all the admin sessions are reporting active, can you provide us the debug logs from your SA  520 so that I can forward to the development  team to investigate?  We are tracking an issue with a customer, but his device takes 3-4 months to show the symptoms you describe.
To get the dbglog from SA520, login through web UI and in the browser enter the following URL:
    https://LAN_IP_address_of_SA520/scgi-bin/dbglog.cgi
These logs will store password, so please remove any sensitive information and passwords. Also if you are not comfortable posting the dbglog on the    community, you can send it directly to me through private message.

  • MTS, Killing the user session?

My db is using MTS connection, while i kill the user session by using alter system kill session, the ever killed process goes to Pseudo status....even i can't kill from unix level because it uses dispatchers...
is there any way i kill the user processes in MTS, with out going to pseduo status

    Hi,
    AS ORACLE SAID,
If an active session cannot be interrupted (it is performing network I/O or rolling
back a transaction), the session cannot be terminated until the operation completes.
In this case, the session holds all resources until it is terminated. Additionally, the
session that issues the ALTER SYSTEM statement to terminate a session waits up to
60 seconds for the session to be terminated. If the operation that cannot be
interrupted continues past one minute, the issuer of the ALTER SYSTEM statement
receives a message indicating that the session has been "marked" to be terminated.
A session marked to be terminated is indicated in V$SESSION with a status of
KILLED and a server that is something other than PSEUDO.

  • Logout user session

    Hi,
I have Cisco Controller 5508 and NAC Guest, users login through web authentication after successful login, popup screen displayed for logout, most of the users close this webpage and they are not able to logout.
Is there anyway i can logout user from session from controller,
    thanks

issue: closing webauth logout popup window doesn't terminate the webauth session for that user.
Admin expecting to have the webauth session to terminate as soon as they close logout popup. So that the same user can logon using the same credentials on different pc/device. currently using one session per user. Until 7.3.x.x WLC does nothing when logout popup is closed. By adming, it is hard to chase the MAC address of that user to manually remove the client.
[it is possible to achieve what you're trying, if WLC has the ability to list the client(s) using the username, again if multiple clients are shown how does we pin point the specific one. in this case with one user per session then yes something like this may work - WLC>show client detail ]
Bottomline: Have seen most hotspot vendor software logsout the user as soon as the logout popup closed, only way to get the logout popup back is by login again, it is a geniune ask.
I've created an internal enchancement for this issue. Please open a TAC case(also, see is any config options on wlc/wcs address this) to get the bug info by providing this link. And involve your AM to drive the same.

  • How to know if user (session) is authenticated in other application (SSO)

    Hi folks!
We've deployed various J2EE applications in some OC4J instances. So far the applications used SSO Authentication against OiD (LDAP), but we need a public access application.
The problem is the following: we need a different behaviour in this last application (without authentication characteristics) depending on one user is authenticated within other application that required SSO login.
How could check if current user (session) si authenticated against SSO, for example, in ADF-STRUTS DataAction class?
We tested the gerRemoteUser() method but is only works within the applications requering login.
    Please, anyone could guide me?
    Mike
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Oracle AS Single Sign ON stores some of the attributes of an authenticated user in a browser cookie - the name of the Cookie is SSO_ID.
You cannot get any information from this Cookie. The Cookie is avaliable only to the Oracle AS Single Sign ON and is meant to be used only by it. You cannot read any useful information from the Cookie as it is higly encrypted.
If you need to know the name of the currently logged in user, your application should be a Partner Application or an External Applciation to Oracle AS Single Sign On.
The reason is simple - you can use your browser to connect to many Websites protected by Oracle AS Single Sign ON. Thus, if your application isn't a Partner or an External Application registered with SSO, your application can't establish a context.
Hence, your application needs to be registered as a Partner Application or an External Application with SSO.
An application which is nto registered with SSO cannot get the User information from SSO. The getRemoteUser() method would always return a null in such cases.
    Regards,
    Sandeep

From what I remember I have also had this issue when Skype wasn't open.
Yesterday my computer started up beeping - I took the harddisk out and it started normally (initramfs tho). Then I put it back in and the laptop have been running fine so far. I suspect it might just have been a bad connection, but I am giving it time..
    EDIT: Still experiencing the issue..

  • Server 2012 R2 RDS – cannot log off user session

We have a 2 server RDS RemoteApp Farm.
One server is constantly leaving user sessions in a disconnected state without the ability to kill the session (rebooting is the only way); this is happing 1-2 times per week.
Servers have been configured to kill a disconnected session after 10 minutes, but some disconnected sessions have been running for days.
Below is a screenshot of the process running for two disconnected users sessions that I could not disconnect, rebooting the server was the only way of fixing this. No error's were generated when users disconnected the session.
Is there a known fix for this?

    Hi,
Did you apply session disconnected policy setting in your environment?
There are different ways for getting user log off. As you have commented that it’s happening with specific user, once check whether the user profile is not corrupted or any other related case. Also it might relates that some application or related services
is still running under user profile so that session cannot be logged off. You can also try PowerShell command to log off the user. Also with
Query user command you can find the related session name and ID and then with “Logoff user command” you can logoff the specific user.
For policy related to session setting you can check beneath article. (point 1)

    Hope it helps!

  • How to check whether a user session is null or not

    Hi
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.2
I have a use case of running some Junit test case, this is the problem I have :
There are some Junit tests which are written for some VO's. While testing insert and update operation in Junit there is two mandatory columns Created by and Updated by to be entered for committing into the database.
These values are taken from the UserName of the current UserSession .
So for getting the these values for each user I thought of displaying a JPanel before the test is run, where the user enters the Username and password which is validated and the user is verified.
First, I need to check whether there is a session present or not. For checking this, I wrote a createUserSession() and did like this inside it :
if(fixture.getApplicationModule().getSession().getUserData().isEmpty())If so to show the Jpanel and get the user details and verify the user.
But while running the test itself I found that the session is already present, now I just have to input the values based on who is the user.
But Junit doesn't run the tests in the order in which the test are written. So I have to call this in all the test cases.
    The Question is :
How can I check whether the session is already present or not, so that I don't have to ask the user every time while every test is running to enter the Username and Password ?
    Thanks,
    Nigel.

    Hi,
wondering why don't you create test users and then automatically log them in as Jan Vervecken did on the threads I pointed you to. This way your test cases run without user interaction. To test if a session exists for a user, I would put a custom property into user data. If this property exists, the user session is an existing one. However, make sure the information you save into the user data survives passivation as otherwise the information you get out of this is not accurate. • How to check if a user session is active in Java application server

    Hi Experts,
We have a online scenario with a third party system by which a portal user will launch the third party application in a new window from portal. The SSO will work at the third party web application with the dynamic key that is generated by calling a webservice for that user. Now, as the user works on the launched screen, they will have to check whether the user (logged in portal) session is still active. ie., they will be periodically calling a service hosted by SAP java application server to find out whether the corresponding user who launched the session is still logged in or logged out.
So, my question is, how can i find out programatically whether a user/user's session is still logged in/active in SAP Netweaver Java AS? We are in version 7.3.
Kindly help me in this regard.
    Regards
