Terminate the Pluggin after browser is closed

Hi, I am using the 1.3.0_01 pluggin version and I have a problem that started only recently, I run an applet, this fires th pluggin, but when I close the browser the pluggin continues to run. I cannot deactivate it. It is strange becasue it wasn't like that a week ago...
I tried to reinstall it, yet it did not help...
I am working on win 98
Any idea what might cause it?
Thanks in advance,
David.

Make sure ActiveDesktop is not enabled, or Java Plug-in will not be able to unload itself.

    A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Application icon remain in the dock after apps are closed

    Hi Mac OS Community!
    I have Mac OS 10.8.4.  I notice that after I quit apps, their icon seems to stay in the Dock afterwards.
    How can I keep the Finder from leaving closed apps icons on the dock?
    Thanks!

    First of all, note that some applications are not close just by pressing the red button at the top left corner of the application window. If this is the case, press Command and Q keys to close the app, so the application icon should disappear from the Dock.
    If this doesn't happen, the app is selected to appear in the Dock, so just drag the application icon off the Dock when it's closed, or right-click it and go to Options, and untick "Keep in Dock" or press "Remove from Dock"

  • In OAM, is it possible to maintain a cookie even after browser is closed?

    I've a requirement where I would like to maintain a cookie on a portal (after the user is authenticated) even after the user closes the browser (without logging off)? It is something like on ebay or Yahoo where you've option of remember me so that when user visits the website, they need not login unless logged out?
    Any inputs would be really appreciated. Thanks.

    No not by default. There are multiple options to make it work though...( My 2 cents is to look at security risk before deploying this type of solution)
    a) If your users are Windows / part of AD, you can enable Integrated Authentication (Intranet users)
    b) You can capture the userid and password before you post to OAM and encrypt and store it in your cookie. next time user comes to your site you then look at the cookie and try to sign in as that user. ( Security Risk...to be considered based on type of application or data user has access to)

  • How to terminate the program after we run it?

    I am doing Ehernet LabVIEW program.In that program I developed the code for generating message box if the bytes u sent to another system should have to come back again.If the bytes are coming in the result then the message box  should appear as "Ehernet Test Passed".If it is False  then message box should appear as "Ehernet Test Failed".When I run the program the message box was appeared.I put the message box in the Case structure.After running the program the loop was not terminated.How can I overcome the problem.I attached my vi.Pl verify this.

    Hi
    First of all - you don't have any loop in your vi.
    If you want to exit LV after running the vi, you can use the "Quit LabView" function. The "Stop"-function just stops the vi, which actually does not affect your vi, as it stops automatically, after closing the messagebox.

  • Bug: Your last browsing session closed unexpectedly message after every boot

    It appears HP Smart Web Printing 4.51 has a bug. After installing it on Vista Ultimate 64-bit Internet Explorer 8 (32-bit version), everytime I shutdown then start up the computer and open up Internet Explorer 8, I get the message:  "Your last browsing session closed unexpectedly. Restore your last session or Go to your home page". And this happens after I close down Internet Explorer 8 normally. This never happened before.
    I did a test: closed down Internet Explorer 8 normally, uninstalled  HP Smart Web Printing 4.51, and rebooted my computer. The  "Your last browsing session closed unexpectedly" message did not appear anymore. Definitely a bug.

    I'm sure that there can be other causes to this with IE, and if you are not running HP software on your XP then it is not related, however it is the cause for us running smart web printing on our particular machines.
    I have four: two deesktops, two laptops, running from XP sp3 to win 7 RTM - all running ie8, all started the same issue after install of SWP latest version, note latest version. and all stop after that process is either prevented from running on startup, or the program is removed. Enough proof for me considering the history of this company's SW packages.
    If I dont find another solution I plan on disabling the notification thru a registry edit. It's annoying more than helpful to receive it every single time you open for an initial session, plain and simple, and a result of bad coding.

  • Why firefox 3.6 downloads all of the files again after restartarting the browser from a website if the "clear history when Firefox closed" is not Enabled?

    We have a corporate website, we officially support FF3, FF4, IE8 and IE9. Our web site is quite big, so we really need browser caching, first time page load is around 15 seconds. With files in the cache getting new page is less than a second.
    Everything works perfect except with FF3. With FF4, IE8, IE9 if we are on the website, clicking everywhere is fast, the page is in the cache. If we restart the browser, it is still fast, it loads files from the cache.
    But with FF3 we have a problem. Every time we restart the browser, it is loading the files again from the server, instead of using the local cache (checked with Firebug). I can reproduce the problem anytime, it is the same with every FF3 instances. I double checked, the "clear history when Firefox closed" option is not enabled.
    Could you advise please how to use the local cache either after browser restart?
    Thank you!
    Chris

    Just read that the default memory storage on FF is set to 5 mbs. You can up that by clicking on tools, advanced and overriding the default and set it to 50 mbs (if you use lots of tabs) or 10 mbs (if you use just a few).
    I open a blank tab and clear the cache periodically, while I am working. I can have several tabs open and watch videos on Youtube, by doing this. Have you cleared your cache?
    Since I have an older computer, I've also used CCleaner for years. I use it often, but always before signing off. You can get it free...search for CCleaner, download from Pirifoam free. I didn't change any of the settings and it clears crap left behind from uninstalling programs, clears all browsers at once of: cookies, history, passwords, etc. I love it!
    I had freezing, before using the "open blank tab, clear the cache" thing. Now I have no problems. Plus, as I said...you can change the default memory usage for FF and that should help too.
    Hope this helps! Good luck! :)

  • Destroy the session automatically when the browser is closed by user

    Is it possible to automatically destroy a session when the browser is closed by the user with the X?
    Basically, what we want to do is to create the same effect when the user is closing the browser (with the X button) as when the ordinary log out button is used. That is to have the session destroyed.
    Any ideas?

    Symptom
    A BSP application is not terminated correctly when the user closes the browser window or navigates to other URL.
    The popup window, which appears on browse closure, contains the
    text representing <img> HTML element content in the escaped
    form, like that:
    <IMG WIDTH=quot; HEIGHT=quot; SRC="...
    After the popup disappears, the session remains opened.
    Since the session is not removed, that may result in database locks that still remain and can be found in transaction SM12.

    Reason and Prerequisites
    Reason:
    The problem is caused by the minor code inconsistency in BSP application SYSTEM -> page SESSIONEXIT.HTM.
    Prerequisites:
    1. The application is using the SYSTEM application page SESSIONEXIT.HTM for logoff. When it runs, suddenly HTML source code appears on the logoff screen.
    2. SAP_BASIS 620 SP57 or SAP_BASIS 640 SP15 or SAP_BASIS 700 SP06 are installed.
    Solution
    Please install SAP_BASIS 620 SP58 or SAP_BASIS 640 SP16 or SAP_BASIS 700 SP07
    or
    apply the code correction as described below:
    1. Go to BSP Application SYSTEM.
    2. Select page SESSIONEXIT.HTM and turn on Change mode.
    3. Change the line:
    <%=application->session_exit( exit_url = app-exit_url namespace = app-appl_ns name = app-appl_name page = app-page_name )%>
    to:
    <%raw=application->session_exit( exit_url = app-exit_url namespace = app-appl_ns name = app-appl_name page = app-page_name )%>

  • Firefox.exe (32 bit) continues to run in the background after closing, Im running Firefox (64 bit).

    After browsing the web and downloading items from websites, with Firefox's built in download manager, then closing Firefox I'll have to open my task manager and manually stop the 32 bit .exe. Im running Firefox (64 bit) on a Win7 (64 bit) system.

  • Does the sharedObject get destroyed when the browser is closed?

    hey guys, so i just wanted to make sure that when my internet browser is closed it destroys or clears my sharedObject??
    right now i wasnt sure so im doing somehting like the following
    public var sharedObj:SharedObject;
    if(sharedObj != null){
         sharedObj.clear();
    sharedObj = SharedObject.getLocal(...);
    i just wnated to make sure that this is the most effective way to destory the sharedObject just in case there is one left in the browser...
    is there another way to make sure i clear the sharedObjects??

    hello cyber0897,
    No sharedObjects are stored in a cookielike textfile on the clients harddrive, As far as I know there is not an option like with cookies to be destroyed after the browser closes.
    The reset you wrote should be in another order:
    var mySharedObject:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal....
    //the above will never give null, because it is created when it doesnt exist.
    //the if (object != null) is useless because of the above, in your post it will be always null, since it is not instantiated...
    mySharedObject.clear();
    mySharedObject.flush(); //not sure if this is neccesary
    You could reset the sharedObject when initializing your application, but if you just want to store variables and get them wherever you need them in your app you could use the singleton class below
    Usage:
    <s:TextInput id="text1" text="@{PrefObj.instance.myString} />
    <s:TextInput id="text2" text="@{PrefObj.instance.myString} />
    (the @ only works in flex 4)
    PrefObj.as
    package
        import flash.events.EventDispatcher;
        [Bindable]
        public final dynamic class PrefObj extends EventDispatcher {
            private static var _instance:PrefObj = new PrefObj();
            public function PrefObj(){
                if (_instance != null){
                    throw new Error("PreferencesManager can only be accessed through PreferencesManager.instance");
            public static function get instance():PrefObj {
                return _instance;
            //add your variables here:
            public var myString:String = "";

  • Firefox doesn't close but hangs in the background after closing it using up excessive memory up to 2gb.

    When Firefox 8 loses connection to certain websites and I have to close it from the lower taskbar, it hangs in the background on task manager using excessive memory even after it is closed. I have seen it use up to 2gb of memory while closed but still hanging in the background in task manager. My computer slows down and when I try to open another browser window the little loading icon goes around and around so I check to see what is making it so slow. It is always firefox 8 hanging in the background using memory. I have 8gb of ddr2 memory on this 64 bit computer it shouldn't be slowing down because of a browser bug but it does.

    From what I have been reading from other posts on this forum, the
    issue may be caused by the clear history settings.
    Press the '''<Alt>''' or '''<F10>''' key to bring up the tool bar.
    Followed by;
    Windows; '''Tools > Options'''
    Linux; '''Edit > Preferences'''
    Mac; ''application name'' '''> Preferences'''
    Then '''Privacy'''.
    The button next to '''History''', select '''Use Custom Settings'''.
    At the bottom of the page, turn on '''Clear History When Firefox Closes.'''
    At the far right, press the '''Settings''' button. Turn on ONLY '''Cache''' and
    '''Form And Search History''' leaving the others off.
    This is not a cure but will make it easier if Firefox locks up.

    When i try to open week cal it loads and then closes after a few seconds...I have checked for updates, turned the phone off then on, closed out of the app and then opened it again...nothing works!  I have thought about deleting the app from my phone and then reloading it again but I worry that it will delete all my calendar info???  Any suggestions?

    To reset, press and hold the Home and power buttons until the silver apple appears.
    I would delete the app, reset the phone and then download the app again. Your calendar information should be stored on the phone as Week Cal uses the Calendar app information.
    Best of luck.
