Terrible sound from Traveldock Zen Micro

We just bought a traveldock for our daughter to play her Zen Micro. When we hook up the Zen Micro to the docking ports of the Traveldock, the sound comes out very quiet and garbled. Connecting to the back line-in jack plays perfectly - only when playing through front docking ports it sounds like garbage. Very quiet, missing vocal track.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to fix this or is this just a bad unit's
We are very disappointed with this product.

Thanks for the response.
As it turns out, I did some experimenting. In the Zen Micro menu, the Audio EQ setting was set to New Age. I turned this off. Also I turned off the Smart Volume setting. Hooked it back up to the Traveldock and, lo and behold, it played perfectly.
My opinion of the product is now much better.
I don't know if it was the change in audio settings, making sure to attach the player firmly in the dock, or what, but it sounds much better now.
I also downloaded but haven't yet installed the 2.2.02 firmware update for the Zen Micro just in case there's anything in there that helps its computability with the Traveldock. Anyway, we are happier now that the sound is coming out loud and clear.

  • Can I transfer Music from One Zen Micro to another Zen Mic

    Hello,
I've had my Zen Micro (Green) for 3 weeks now and now my girlfriend wants one a Zen Micro too, which she'll get in the next few days. I was wondering if there's any way to transfer mp3s from my Zen Micro to hers?
I was thinking if I plugged 2 Zen Micros into my PC and then load up the Nm=oman Player and just drag the songs from one Zen Micro to another......will that work. Or is it best to just drat the songs onto the PC and then transfer them onto my Girlfriend's Zen?

I would imagine you can do that .... although you may need the latest firmware 2.xxxxx which would mean you have to use WMP 0 ...
I should wait until she gets hers then plug it into your PC and see if it recognises it .... if it does you have no worries .. if not post again and everyone will do there best to help out

  • I can't transfer my music from my zen micro to my

I have a little problem when I try to transfer my music from the zen micro to my pc with zen media explorer I have an error ,I have the same thing using creative media source organizer.the error is always the same "transfer error" its says that my file is working or its occuped and it can't transfer it. That is so strange its that I can transfer misic from my pc to my zen micro but not the inverse.Help !!!!!!

My personal view is the PC Music Library is a waste of time. It's an intermediate step between transferring tracks to the player, and I don't use any features within it. However your mileage may vary.
You can import tracks into the MediaSource PC Music Library one of two ways (at least). . Have a view with the files/folders on one side, and then the PC Music Library on the other, and simply use the transfer arrow to put the tracks into it (basically the tracks won't be copied, the links to them are simply added to the library database). 2. Use the Import button, on the toolbar. I believe this prompts for a directory with your files in, and it will then scan through the files.
Not sure if this was mentioned before, but before doing any of this make sure you install the latest drivers, MediaSource, and MediaSource plugin from Nomadworld.com downloads.

  • Can MP3s from the zen micro be played using an FM tuner like the ipod

where can we get an accessory like the ipod's wherein we can play music from the zen micro on a car stereo/home stereo using an FM tuner wherein the micro itself will work like a remote control? thanks a lot.

Anywhere. Belkin makes the Tunecast FM tuner -- just make sure to get the TunecastII with the LCD selector.

  • TravelDock Zen Micro alternat

The TravelDock for Zen Micro sounds like fun and has a lot of neat options, but I don't have $50 to shell out for something that only has 4 watts per channel. When I had my XM radio, there was a forum where people shared ideas that they had for their own portable sound systems using items that they bought at places like Radio Shack. I'd like to make a portable, self-contained, good sounding sound system. Anybody have any ideas, thoughts to share?Message Edited by heymelbs on 0-20-2005 0:06 AM

first, the traverdock is $29 listed on us.creative.com
but still you consider this as expensi've one.
I actually had a chance to play music with this unit in digitallife.
The spec'd power is probably small, as you mentioned 4w.
However, its sound quality was decent and deli'vered loud sound from the unit.
Creative is ready to release one other speaker system,
which is able to connect not only zen micro, also other players as well, including ip**.
It was built for portable use and has very big speaker unit all around front part.
I forgot the name, but the speaker part is made by cambridge sound system.
But it's bulky compared to traveldock.
Any other alternati've? buy good headphone and amp
it's winter, you will be happy to wear headphone around your ear when you out there.

  • Uploading music tracks from Creative Zen Micro to

<FONT face=Century>Is it possible to upload all my tracks from my Creative Zen Micro to my new PC? I had them all saved on my old one and can't seem to find on any support anywhere how to do this. I don't fancy ripping all my CDS all over again!

    Hi,
You could transfer the music content of your Zen Micro to your Zen V Plus without transferring it to the PC first. Do the following steps:
. Connect one player at a time in your PC (XP O/S) and make sure that both of the player is detected.
    2. If Windows have detected it, click on the option Open to View Files.
    3. Open up the Music folder of both players.
    4. From there, copy and paste whatever music tracks you would like to transfer from Zen Micro to Zen V Plus.
It's a good idea to have a back up of all your data and you could use a USB Flash dri've to store it all.
    Hope this hel

  • MuVo / Nano questions from a Zen Micro ow

I was thinking about getting my girlfriend an MP3 player as one of her birthday presents - I know she wants a flash player, not a hard dri've one like I have because she mostly wants it for when she works out.
As far as the MuVo / Micro goes - I assume it uses the same desktop software as the Zen Micro so we can both pull tracks from the same Creative MediaSource program?
Also, is it pretty durable for someone who's going to probably be shaking it around a good bit's
    Thanks all

The MuVos are a lot easier and don't really need software, except to create audio. They appear as USB mass storage i.e. a new dri've, in Windows Explorer. You can then use Windows Explorer to create folders and drag and drop files to it.
They are reasoably durable, but obviously won't stand up to lots of abuse.

  • TravelDock Zen Micro and Zen V Plus

I have a traveldock and I'm looking at getting a zen v plus. Will the 2 work together? It looks like they should fit but I wanted to check before upgrading.

    slap_shot_2,
No, I'm afraid the Zen V Plus won't fit into the slot or space that's meant for the Zen Micro player but you can still use the Traveldock Line-In jack to connect to the player for music playback.

  • Question regarding transfering tracks from current Zen Micro to new Zen V Pl

Thank You in advance to anyone who can assist me.
I just ordered a new Zen V Plus and will want to get all my tracks on it when it arri'ves. My current player is a Zen Micro 5GB and I've loved it but as of late have been having problems with one of the touch pad buttons and, of course, it's out of warrenty. I just found the Zen V Plus 4GB on sale for $59.99 which I feel is a great price point so I bought one. So regarding the issue of getting my music from the Micro to the V Plus, is there a way to transfer from one to the other or would I have to somehow transfer onto my PC then to the V Plus?
Second question I just thought of, Can I use a memory stick(USB Flash Dri've) to back-up my tracks?
    Thanks again,
    Mark in San Diego

  • Transfering Music From My Zen Micro to My Hard Dr

Hi Everyone, I've tried looking through the forums for an answer to my question but I haven't been lucky as of yet - apologies if this is a common issue.
My problem is that I'd like to transfer all the music on my Zen Micro on to my PC's Hard Dri've.
I can see Creatvie Zen Micro on My Computer - I can click on the icon and view the individual music files but it does not let me copy and paste them on to my hard dri've.
My hard dri've on my PC failed recently and I'd like to put all the songs on my MP3 player back onto my PC - but I just can't seem to get it to work.
    My details are -
Player - Creative Zen Micro 5gb
    Version - .0.03
I have XP Pro with SP2 - and I've downloaded Creative MediaSource Organizer.
If any one can help me solve this issue - even if its a step by step way of getting the files on to my hard dri've (I don't mind being patronised! ) I would be eternally grateful!!
Thanks - I hope I get a reply soon - my hair is getting greyer by the second!
    Ry

Here is what you should do:
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site. Make sure that you install this first before installing the rest of the MediaSource plugins listed below.
    - For non-PlaysForSure Zen series: Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.20 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for CD Burner 3.0.8 from your product download site.
    - Launch Creative MediaSource Oragnizer.
    - Go to Tools->Settings->PC Music Library and click Properties. Set your preferred folder and file naming convention. Close the setting page.
    - In the Sources window, click to view PC Music Library.
    - Go to View->Right Panel View and select to view your MP3 player.
    - Transfer the tracks from your MP3 player to MediaSource's PC Music Library by clicking the arrow pointing from right to left.
    - If you have updated the track information of the tracks in your MP3 player, the updated track information will also be imported into the PC Music Library database. However, the tags of the files are not updated. Here is what you need to do. Right click the PC Music Library node in the Sources window or right click on any tracks in the PC Music Library window and select "Update Tag". This will update the tag of all the tracks or the selected tracks with the track information as seen in the PC Music Library.

  • Less than perfect sound from my Zen

I have been reading alot of these threads and everybody says how great and perfect their Zen sounds. Maybe i'm a little picky, but i find that mine lacks a little in the higher frequencies. I know the specs say 7,000hz to
    ps.
I have played with all the different EQ's, and made my own, but still find it a little short on the higher frequencies. If it wasn't for that, it would sound perfect.
Could a different set of earbuds or headphones make up a little of that sound i'm looking for? Or what can i try?

' It's all relati've, and relati've to other popular players the Zen scores well in terms of response. But that said, a decent set of headphones or in-ear monitors will make all the difference for the lot of them. Ultimately the speakers are the most significant factor to how any audio equipment sounds.

  • Can I use the battery from 4gb Zen Micro Photo in the 8gb Zen Micro Pho

Can I use the 3.7V Li-ion Polymer Battery 680mAh in my 8gb Zen Microphoto? The 8gb came with a 3.7V Lithium Ion Battery 830mAh.

    rrochlis,
The mAh is a measure of a battery's total capacity. The higher the number (ex. 600 mAh, ,500 mAh) the more charge the battery can hold and usually, the longer a battery will last under a certain load. If you're going to use a lower mAh battery, you will get shorter playback time.

  • How do you transfer songs from a Zen Micro to a comput

Last weekend my computer caught a virus and we had to reboot everything. All of my music was lost and all of the creative software. I have my installation cd but none of the programs on it will except my player. I believ I can reformat it to playforsure...even though it already is, and then transfer songs to it through Windows Media. First though I need to find out if it's at all possible to transfer songs from my player to a music file in my computer since the reformatting will erase all content in my player. Anybody know how?

Sorry I guess I just replied to my own topic because I'm gone crazy sitting here trying to get my computer back to the way it used to be after having to watch all of my memorable picture and files be lost? in the depths of nothingness, yet having a glimmer of hope over my saved music in my player, only to come to find out that no one knows if it's even possible to transfer files from said play to my computer and then finally felling like crying once you ...... come here and make me feel even smaller?then I already do. ?So I'm sorry...and I'll wait'sjust like I have been doing... I was fine with waiting... It was only?one post .....
