Territory MGMT Rule

Hi Gurus,
in CRM 7.0 web ui
i created territory with three levels(continent, country, geographic area ) but only using first level (continent) and assigned "Rule" for Accounts.
i created rule as per best practice document , i set rule parameters to country and region and conditions in action i passed value for this parameters and then released and finally saved.
no employee responsible assigned.
now when to see what all accounts this territory is assigned to by using "display relationship" tab on rule box.
i donot get any result.
and even while creating an opportunity with the BP account which has values which i passed in rule conditions, i donot get territory in field "Territory ID" in general data ... where actually it should be filled up from BP address data...
i am not talking about territory id from employee responsible ...that is working fine..
problem is with "Account " based rule.
am i missing something..or do i need to run any report...any other clue.. why it is not happening..?

Hi,
Basically, In order for the territory assignment to work through customer you have to see the relationship at the "Display relationships" button or at the assignment block "Territories" at the customer's main view.
If you don't see the relationships there then it's not working.
Second, after assigning the BP's to the territory you have to ran the report at the customing IMG>CRM>Master data> Territory management>Update Territory Relationships. first initial then schedule it with delta changes. (See documentation)

    thanks for your response. In these days I'm working on organizational model / territory mgmt.
    I'm following the best practices that I found on help.sap.com about CRM 5.0.
        In those documents there is only a point of view: the "Organizational Model". I'm not able to find nothing on the territory mgmt.
    So it's not very clear when I have to use the territory if I found all attributes for the SALES scenario like Activity Reason, Tupel (channel, division), Country, Ref currency for document, Sales district, and so on.
    Through these attributes I'm able to reach the employee (position dependent) and the BP (through these attributes).
    Do you have any kind of documentation/best practices that can help me where the argument is the territory customizing?
    If I use for instance the division, channel and country in the territory for the partner determination, have I to maintain the same data in the organization model for the sales attributes? If yes, what is the function of these attributes in this kind of situation (with or without R3 integration)?

    How are you resetting the password?
    Resetting User Password in Lion, Mountain Lion & Mavericks
    Boot into your Recovery Partition by hold down the Command and R keys whilst booting.
    When the Recovery screen appears, go to the Utilities menu and open Terminal.
    In Terminal, type:
    resetpassword
    ...a small app will open and allow you to choose the user for whom you want to change the password. If you are the admin, be certain that you choose your admin user. Type in your new password twice and give yourself a good hint. Click OK (or Done or whatever) and reboot, enjoying the use of your new, hopefully memorable, password.

  • Z-attributes in territory mgmt.

    Hello CRM experts,
    in our new project I face the following problem.
    I need to implement a z-assignment-block from a z-table to BP.
    Some of these z-fields should be territory relevant.
    I customized it in
    spro->Customer Relationship Management->Master Data->Territory Management->Territory Attributes->Maintain Territory Attributes
    and implemented the Badi CRM_TM_MASTER_DATA_NOTIFY_BP as well.
    The problem is when changing the value of the z-field and save
    the Badi Method IF_EX_CRM_TM_MASTER_NOTIFY_BP~IS_ATTR_ACTIVE_FOR_TM did't pass through.
    I realized by debugging that z-attributes from z-tables won't be recorded in the table CRMD_TERRMAN_LOG
    (see class CL_CRM_TERRMAN_LOG_API=>WRITE) just attributes from but000 or adressdata (see ZCL_CRM_TERRMAN_NOTIFY_REPOS=>LOG_BP_HEADER_CHANGES
    and ZCL_CRM_TERRMAN_NOTIFY_REPOS=>LOG_BP_ADDRESS_CHANGES.
    Any idea to record ?

    Hi,
    If you need to trigger the BADI while saving the zblock values, you should ideally follow this steps. I had to approach this process to trigger some badi which we needed to hit upon clicking some button...
    1. First find out the fields on change of which the BADI gets triggered .. check the standard transactions
    2. Then find out the standard bol entity-attribute which has those fields
    3. then while saving the zblock, add some code so that you change some dummy values in those standard entity which you have find out it step 1 and 2. (any single field modification will do, if its correct field)
    4. then do a bol core modify and your badi will get triggered.
    *generally the reason for badi trigger is change in some relevant fields which triggers the badi, so you have to change something in the standard entity level of those fields..you have to find out some fields which by changing won't create any issue with your process...

  • Employee Determination Techniques based on Territory in Business Trnsction.

    Dear all,
    If I want to determine a territory based on customer, and Employee based on determined territory what configuration do I need to do?
    I am planning to do the following configuration for Opportunity Management, please suggest me whether my understanding is correct or not.
    Based on Rules defined in the territory for, customers will automatically assigned to the territory if the attribute value range matches.
    Using Access Sequence 0030-Territory Mgmt user for the Customer (Sales Prospect) partner function in Partner determination procedure.
    I believe this access sequence determines relevant territory based on Customer Attributes.
    Once the territory determines in the Opportunity, based on territory I want to determine assigned Employee responsible.
    How can I do this?
    Please suggest that how can we achieve this. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Raghu,
    There is  some steps to determine the employee responsible for a territory.
    You have to define the oganisational model, define the territory, and the partner procedure linked to your activity type (opportunity...)
    1- you create organisational model (PPOMA_CRM)
    2- you define positions and affect employees to thoses positions
    3- SPRO: Customer Relationship Management
    Master Data
    Territory Management
    Assign Partner Function to Assignment Function Category
    Put there the Id of your patner funtion you want to use and TERR AFC 0000 and (if CRM 7.0) the Rel cat BUR011
    4- define your patner procedure and link it to your activity type (use the best practice for territory setup to do that)
    3- create your territory
    4- affect rules and positions (then employees will be affected automatically)
    Do not forget to indicate the partner function in front of each employee affected to the territory (the choice list of this field come from the customisation you made the step before)
    DONE

  • Field Service - STAR program is completing with Error message

    Synchronize Territory Assignment Rules (STAR) program is getting completed with following error message:
    Parameters used were 'Service' with a Run mode as 'Total Refresh'. It errors out with 'No data found' error message. (Log file appended below)

  • Running STAR program in Date Effective mode

    Hi All,
    How the date effective mode of Synchronize Territory Assignment rule concurrent will work? Will it sync all the active territories in that date range? For example if I run the STAR program from 01-Mar-2010 to 31-Mar-2010, will it sync all the territories which are all active in this date range? Will it pick up the territory which has start date as 01-Feb-2010 and end date as 30-Apr-2010?

    The only emulator for running Classic apps I know of is SheepShaver, and from what I've read (though not confirmed) it doesn't work under Snow Leopard (not surprising; SheepShaver hasn't been update in over three years, from what I can see). It also requires the ROM image from an older Mac, and if someone had access to an older Mac to get the image, they could just run the app on that older Mac.
    So I think that the ability to run Classic apps is now completely dead as of Snow Leopard.

  • Accounts Sales data with ERP integration

    Hi All,
    I need to implement territory realignment rules based on
    accounts sales organization. We have following cases for accounts:
    ERP accounts. Sales data is downloaded from the ERP.
    Cloud for Costumer accounts. They will be created in C4C and never replicated to ERP and there is
    no possibility to add sales data.
    Having a look to the documentation we see that sales data is read only in our scenario
    (even sales data can’t be added in new accounts), so for those accounts that are created in C4C as we don’t have sales data, territory rules can’t be
    applied.
       Is there any workaround to solve this gap?
    Is this functionality planned to be included in future releases?

    In EH&S, workflows are started explicitly by the report RC1WFSUB that must be scheduled as a background job. The report identifies the workflow template to be started using the relevant entries in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools. 
    Specification management allows to manage specification data for the following object types u2013 Substance, agents, DG classifications, waste catalog codes, packing specifications. It can be changed and add to specification properties quickly and flexibly and also can be arranged them in a property tree tailored to client requirements. Attributes in the form of text are supported by phrase management.
    In Customizing for Product Safety, the workflow for specification changes shall be activated with the aid of the environment parameter WF_SUB_FLG_ACTIVE.
    In my opn, specification management which inherintly uses property tree may be right choice for ur query. As the workflow involves specification banagement followed by substance mgmt, rule edit etc. Primarily specification management is priority for workflow usage.
    pl elaborate ur question for better attempt.

  • Allowing Email Only...

    First off let me say I didn't design, create or, even recommend this network. I Inherited this mess, I'm just the one cleaning up...
    The previous admin has setup a email account for a local lawyer that my company uses. When someone needs to send the lawyer sensitive information they will do so by sending to his email address here. Now the lawyer has his own network and firewall. The previous admin supposedly setup a LAN to LAN VPN connection between his network and ours using our PIX 515 Firewall. Since the previous admin has been gone we have purchased a VPN Concentrator, 3005, and I would like to start using this instead of what he setup on the PIX, since I can't really trust how he put things together.
    I only want the lawyer to be able to pull his email and not have access to the rest of the network. Is there a way to setup some type of ACL, or Filter, or something that will only allow this function with a VPN Concentrator 3005? Any suggested would be greatly appreciated.

    Create a separate group on the concentrator for just this person, and set up his client to connect to that group.
    Create a rule (under Config - Policy Mgmt - Traffic Mgmt - Rules) that is Inbound/Forward, Source of Anything, Destination of /0.0.0.0, dest port TCP port 25. Create another rule, it can be left at the defaults which is Inbound, Drop, Source of anything, Dest of anything. Create a filter (under Config - Policy Mgmt - Traffic Mgmt - Filters) with default action of forward and add both your new rules to it, making sure the rule that allows access to the host mail server is ABOVE the default rule that will drop everything else.
    Modify the group you created for this one user and under the General tab, apply that filter to it.
    This should be all you need to do. Test it first to make sure.

  • Account Assignemnts - Rebuild teams

    Hello,
    We are planning to define Territory assignement rules using Account assignement functionality. We will assign account team as well. Here is the problem. The assignment manager within On Demand does not provide function to rebuild (delete and recreate) the team as and when the team gets modified in the assignment rule. The option we have is to delete the unwanted team members individually. Plus there could be manually assigned team members.
    With account count running into 6 figures it is so difficult to track all these changes. Client will be pretty annoyed if they were to do this manually.
    What could be the reason the team rebuild functionality is not provided ? Has anyone faced this road block before ? Is manual team removal is the only option if I would not want to store assignment rules in external system and write a webservice program for assignment ? I would like to use OOTB functionality as much as possible.
    What could be the best way to handle team assignments in On Demand ?

  • Territory not updated in Account even account data satisfy Territory Rule

    Hi,
    I am working on territory management and am able to successfully establish relationship between Accounts & Territory. I can see the terrtories to which account is assigned under 'Territories' assignment block on Account overview screen.
    But now if I create/ change any account data(which was not satisfying territory rule earlier) to match the territory rule, the territory is not updated even after running the report 'CRM_TERRMAN_PROC_REL'(delta).
    E.g. Suppose We a territory 'ABC' with territory Rule for all accounts as-  postal code between 20000 & 30000. and this rule is already released.
    Now when i create an account with postal code 20569(or change an existiong account with some other postal code to a number between 20000 & 30000), It should be assigned to this territory ABC. But this relationship is not established at all even after report 'CRM_TERRMAN_PROC_REL' is executed.
    Please suggest if need to implement any SAP Note or any configuration/customization is missing to achieve this functionalty.

    Please be advised that when territory rule contains sales area attributes, ONLY sales area relationships are build up an NO accounts relationships are built.
    To build up account relationship you need to use BP attributes in your rule, so please check that you have done this, and then run the report again.
    Account relationship will show all accounts that fall under thisterritory and it will not consider the sales area attribute, therefore
    it will not be filtered based on the sales area attribute that you mention.

    Like if Valid To is changed, then what was the previous value existing for the field.

    Please check whether rule changes are captured in standard table  crmd_terrman_log
    Note: A class CL_CRM_TERRMAN_LOG_API  can be used to do it, This class writes to the CRM table: CRMD_TERRMAN_LOG ( table to log the info required for master data notification) and it has the following methods:
    READ_ALL
    WRITE
    CLEAR
    DELETE
    UPDATE

  • Assigning Territory Attribtues Using Rule Builder

    Hi ,
    I am not able to assing the Territory Attributes using the Rule Builder.
    1. I have create the Rule Policy and Rule set in the Rule Builder.
    2. Under the territory I assigned myself as employee and I have created a Rule saying that 'if the Account Hierarchy is X then the Terriotry is X'
    3. I go to the Trade Promotion applicaton.
           i. I search for the Account hierarchy, the Terrioty is defaulted but no Account Hierarchies are found Under that.
           ii. when I search for all the available account Hierarhcies and assign the one that I used in the rule I get a warning '' Account Hierarchy X is not assigned to Territory X "
    What additional steps am I missing . Is it possible to assign Territory attributes using rule builder. Is there any other way of doing it.

  • Error in territory rules creation

    I have custom program to create territory rules using BAPI BAPI_TERRITORY_ATTR_CHANGE. Rules need to be created for postal codes by passing values to BP_POST_CODE.
    This program is working fine in development system. But in QA system I am getting below error from standard code in BAPI.
    Data cannot be saved; missing lock   (message class FDT_CORE, number 010)
    Error in saving rule. Contact system administrator.
    Anyone having idea about what's going wrong. Any inputs will be much appreciated.
