Tesco Clubcard App Incompatable With BB Curve 9300?

Why is it when trying to download the Tesco Clubcard app i am being told that it is incompatable with my Curve 9300 yet being supported by devices like the 8100 or the 8520  especially as most reviews for my phone stating it is basically an upgrade from the 8520

What devices and operating systems any specific app is compatible with is determined by the app developer and since the 8100 and 8520 are all devices with OS5 or lower, I suspect the developer for that app has not updated for OS 6 or 7.

  • Some problems I have with my Curve 9300. Hope you can help me.

    Hi everyone.
I decided to post here to know if someone can help me out, I'm a blackberry curve 9300 user - O.S. 6, I've had the smarthpone for a while now, but since the beginning I've been having some minor details, I want to know if there's a simple solution for those things.
    1. Browser.
Since the beginning, the phone native browser has this problem where it starts to load a page but at the middle it just stops and goes back to the home page, so that I can't load any page. I have to search for another browser which works just fine, but maybe there is something I can do to solve this since youtube or othe pages only load on the BB browser and as I said, it doesn't load the pages. It doesn't promp any error message or anything.
    2. Don't-know-what-it's-for Icon.
For a few months now, there's this icon that I can't tell what it's for, I've already search all over the APP for updates but nothing, I just decided to coexist with the icon as it never goes away. Maybe there's something I'm not doing right to check the icon. Here's a screen capture of the mentioned icon.

    3. Crazy pointer.
Sometimes, not always, the pointer just go mad, it start to move by itself, and when one tries to write it becomes impossible, I've tried changing the sensitivity of the pad but no changes.
Thanks in advance for any advices you can give me.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Awesome! You should now be fine for those two... my guess is the crazy pointer may just be due to an over-sensitive trackpad (usually happens when the trackpad gets covered in skin oils). Try cleaning it once in a while with a soft cloth to remove any finger oils and that should help with that.

  • App World Missing Icon Curve 9300 OS 6

I recently noticed that my Blackberry App World icon was missing from my home screen.  I drilled into each of the sub folders, selecting 'show all' for each, and still could not find the icon.  I attempted to re-download the app from the blackberry website using my browser, but was informed that I already had the application on my device.  I then attempted to replace the existing version, and still no icon.
I then decided to navigate to the application center and remove the app world application.  I then navigated back to my browser (cleared the cache) and attempted to download the app.  I received a 'download failed' notification, with the details of 'Invalid COD error 907' message (or something to that affect).
Based on a google search attempt, I have also attempted to register my device via advanced system settings -> host routing table.
And yes, I rebooted the device with a battery pull multiple times.
Now I'm stuck.  Thanks for any replies or guidance.
    -Jake S.
    Specs:
    Device: Curve 9300
    Carrier: Vodaphone UK
    OS:  6.0 Bundle (v6.0.0.448, platform 6.6.0.124)
    App world: v2.1.1.19 (i think)

RH - Thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately I have already attempted your provided suggestion.
I navigated as follows:  Options --> Device --> Applications Management; and removed the App World applicaiton.  I rebooted the device, and used my phone browswer to navigate to the appworld download page at blackberry.com.
When I attempted to download, I received a 'Download failed.' notification.  When I select to see the detail of the error, I receive this message:  '907 Invalid COD A network error occurred'.
    Any other suggestions?

  • Issues with BB Curve 9300

I am writing to complain about the deterioration in functionality of my Blackberry Curve 9300 over an unacceptably short period of time. I am a UK user and our service provider is T-Mobile. I have been in possession of the phone for a year, and my issues are detailed below.
    1. The phone often freezes whilst in the middle of a task, despite not being overloaded with already open applications, requiring me to reboot the phone by removing the battery.
    2. The battery no longer lasts any longer than 8 hours, despite the fact that I am not a heavy user of applications and do not use the phone for extensive multi-tasking. I have done all that I should to preserve the life of the battery, and I find such a rapid deterioration in battery-life completely unacceptable; it no longer lasts until the evening.
    3. The rubber covering on top of the phone has completely deteriorated to the point of breaking away entirely, leaving the phone incredibly difficult to lock and unlock. I have not done anything to cause such a deterioration except use the button to lock and unlock the phone.
    4. The trackpad often scrolls up without any contact from myself, making the composition of coherent messages almost completely impossible and intensely frustrating. I have not dropped the phone or caused any scratches to the trackpad that would demonstrate that this is my fault, thus I can only assume that the trackpad is faulty.
    5. Often the keyboard will input characters that are accented or completely unrecognisable, again making message composition an incredibly frustrating task. I am not sure what has happened to the phone to cause such a keyboard malfunction, but I believe something to be faulty.
I am very careful with my phone, I have not dropped it once in the year that I have been in possession of it and I am never careless with the phone. Given the extensive problems I have with the product, as detailed above, I can only assume that these issues similar to issues that I know other Blackberry users have suffered. I have approached T-Mobile about the problems above but was told that these issues were RIM's concern. Any help that you can provide me with in furthering this complaint would be much appreciated, as the phone is incredibly frustrating to use at this point in time.
    Many thanks.

I am also having issues with the phone! Since I updated my software 2 weeks ago my app world stopped working and now I cannot download it after deleting it. About a month ago when downloading mp3's it all of a sudden started having format issues even though the music is in the supported format. My photos that were taken with the camera turned to thumbnails that cannot be opened and that is why I decided to update the software in the first place. Since the new software update I now also have a java.lang.error when ever I reboot the phone. I'm frustrated! Anybody with tips as to how I can get these problems sorted please help! I have deleted all third party apps and the error persists.
    Hello,
You should probably do a clean OS reload
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. You can even use a different carriers OS package by simply inserting, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML. Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software
Good luck and let us know!

  • I REALLY NEED HELP WITH MY CURVE 9300'S WIFI!

    HI !
i have a blackberry curve 9300, OS5. I got it secondhand. It worked really great, but the problem started when I've done that thing within the host routing table. Though my wifi is connected, I can't use the internet. whenever I tried the BB browser and any other application (e.g. facebook, opera mini, etc.) i get a message that says 'i am not in an area that supports blah blah...' or 'unable to connect to internet please try again later'. I checked the browser under browser config and it is set to my local network provider. i changed it to hotspot browser, saved it. But whenever I go back it also goes back to my local network provider. i have tried almost EVERY troubleshooting I've read on this forums and in other forums but still no luck. The problem worsened when I did a security wipe on the emails, contacts, etc.
    -APN settings are disabled
-default browser set to hotspot browser
    -firewall disabled
    -data services are on
Everyone said that it has nothing to do with that activation enterprise so I did not configured it after wiping.
I also tried doing a hard reboot (pulling the battery out and waiting for 5 minutes before turning it on) but it will only fix the problem for sometime and it will go back again.
Calling my network provider would just suggest to get a plan when in fact, I was able to use the device's wifi well before without any plan.
I don't want to upgrade my BB to OS6 coz it easily drains the battery of device and I cannot afford doing that because I go out a lot.
I also tried changing my sim card and network provider but wasn't successful.
I also tried deleting the name of my local network provider in the service book under options.
What do you think could be the problem? Any suggestions? I really, really, REALLY, need help.
PLEASE ! THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE!

    Hi miochan984,
    Welcome to the support community!
A supported data plan from your mobile network provider may actually be required to use the Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones application as well as the browser. I would recommend verifying with them which services they support over a Wi-Fi connection without a data plan.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Facebook does not work with BlackBerry Curve 9300 ??

Hi, I just got a BlackBerry Curve 9300 v5.0.0.832. My current carrier is Virgin.
Anyways. The message I get is "You are currently on a service plan that does not support this application. If you want to use this application please contact your service provider to upgrade the plan"
I've been reading how you can get v. 1.6 for Facebook, but I don't know how! Please help! Thx!

In order to use the Facebook app etc you need to ensure you have a full blackberry data plan as opposed to an email only blackberry data plan or standard data plan from your carrier.
Give them a call and see what your options are.

  • Does foursquare app work with the Curve?

I have an 8330 with Verizon and I'm trying to use foursquare. When I open it, it locks up.  All options are set for "allow" and the GPS location is on.  I tried restarting, battery pull, reinstalling, and even updating my OS.
Is this application supposed to work with the Curve? The foursquare people aren't replying to me.

    work with the iphone 5?
    Yes.
The motion   is turned on in and it does not record steps.
The iPhone 5 does not have the M7 Motion Sensor co-processor. It will not record steps.
The iPhone 5S has a motion co-processor as do the iPhone 6 & 6 Plus.

  • Multiple Problems with BlackBerry Curve 9300

    Hi everyone
Model info: BlackBerry 9300 (sG, Wi-Fi)
    OS version: v5.0.0.846 (Bundle 1440, Platform 6.3.0.39)
Yesterday night, i get the little envelope saying that I have a sms message but when i click on the icon (sms & mms) on the screen, i couldnt see my latest sms message but infact i could see some faulty messages which i couldnt delete and i could only see half of the list and the other half  is empty with blanks. In order to view them I have to go to view folder and select my SMS inbox.  It was not like this for the past few days, as i could straight see all the latest sms message just a click on the screen icon.
The only thing I have changed is that i accidently clicked on this:
At the menu of the SMS and MMS, i click on Options - Inbox Settings - Other Message Types - SMS AND MMS <<<i had click on this and save it accidentally and i am not able to normal view my sms message again.
Can anyone tell me how to change it so my sms messages could be seen without having to go to view folder and select my SMS inbox.
Another problem, some of the sms message is undeletable. No matter what method i have try it refuse to delete. I am still able to use it to send message but there will not be any message shown there where normally it should. Can any help on this? I have tried looking in saved folder but there is nothing in there to delete or all the option shown in the menu but there is no solution to this.
And the trackpad, Thought there are times it is smooth scrolling but  there are times i had hard time to move it up and down left or left. Worst is sometimes i had to mover many time before the trackpad move up.
Please Help me for the above.

  • Need help with my curve 9300

    Hi
When i try change my email definitions i go to "email accounts" then "Internet email account" then it says "Conecting to email settings" and it take too much time. After that says that an problem is found on concting the device to the server.
What can i do to solve it???
Sorry my english.... my software is in Portuguese so the translation can be wrong....
    Hlp me pls.
    Tnkx

    Hello!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your wireless service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • Help with my curve 9300 in a different country please

I am currently visiting india and need some help on how to get my bbm working here. It was working fine for the first few days- i had data services on and roaming off and was using wifi to connect to my bbm. However the other day i put an indian sim card in so that i could have a local number, i planned on using this while out and using my UK sim card at home for bbm. However when i put my uk sim back in, i couldnt get acces to bbm with my recent updates disappearing and not recieving or being able to send any pings. Theres also a red triangle at the top and my status is roaming under mobile network options. Help?

    Hello,
What likely happened is that, when you put the India SIM in, your UK BIS account was suspended or deactivated (on an automated assumption that you were attempting to shift ALL services to India, including your BIS data services). To reactivate it, normally all that takes is putting back in your UK SIM...but it might further require that your BB be "on" the UK network to succeed, which of course will require being in the UK. You should probably contact your UK mobile network provider for more detailed information as they would have the ability to actually "look at" your BIS account.
    Good luck!
Oh yes -- PS -- as a user-to-user, volunteer-based community, it's customary to way 24 hours before "bumping" a post...the volunteers also have lives to live.
    Good luck!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Based on what you describe, I would guess that your battery is damaged...possibly dangerously so. I recommend you immediately remove it and, if you remain in warranty, seek formal support under those terms. If you have no warranty, then I recommend you obtain a replacement battery. Hopefully your device itself is not causal to the damaged battery.
    Good luck!
