Test Connection in SLD fails.

Hello,
When I test connection for SLD in content administrator (web dynpro), I get
Connection to SLD could not be opened successfully.
And when I open a web dynpro that uses RFC I get an exception.
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'WD_WATCH_RFC_METADATA_DEST' in the SLD. No such JCO destination is defined in the SLD.
what could be the issue.
Thanks
Tony

Hi Tony,
Configure your SLD and then create the JCO Destinations.
Check the following document which clearly explains the process of System Landscape Directory and JCo Configuration

I copied a workbook that has a working scheduled refresh
modified the data model, added some new reports
added a new source (PQ from azure market place)
uploaded workbook to new powerbi location.
get the following error when i try to turn on scheduled refresh - this is even if i just select one data source that is still identical to the original (working) workbook

    what's the problem?
    Jakub @ Adelaide, Australia Blog

Still a problem and not just for me but other users going by the threads on here...
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/eb8682f4-9b40-456a-a7f1-45627a0f4ff0/cannot-schedule-refresh?forum=powerbiforoffice365#eb8682f4-9b40-456a-a7f1-45627a0f4ff0
Applies to all worksheets that utilise a PQ connection registered in the gateway. (my gateway is on an azure VM)
Existing worksheets receive this warning. New workbooks that utilise these connections also receive this warning
Adding a new PQ to the gateway and a new workbook that uses the new connection also receives this warning.
Every PQ connection I have receives this warning. My PQ connections are all to web resources. Most are to the workflowmax.com API, and one is to the Azure Marketplace to retrieve data for a date dimension.
Note: this does not prevent me from scheduling or triggering a refresh, and the refresh itself completes successfully. It's just a weird warning that caused confusion as it sounds like the actual refresh will fail as well seeing as the connection test failed.

  • ITS Test Connection in SLD

When I go to my portals System Landscape Directory and select object pull down "connection tests" and then checkbox: ITS Connection and press "test":
    Nothing happens.
The page loads and then returns with the checkbox blank. The other 2 tests; Web AS Connection, and Connection Test for Connectors both function normally returning test results.
The strange thing is I can logon to the SAP system using ITS.
    What do you think experts?

    Hello Micheal,
SAP Portal has some issues with ITS testing. Sometimes its shows "test fails" but you can still connect to the backend using ITS. So, don't bother about the test result if ur system is working fine.

  • Test connection in SLD

    Hi
I created a new standalone system technical system in SLD. How do I check whether SLD is able to communicate to that system?
    Regards
    Vidyadhar

    HI,
Do i need to give full path name with ipaddress or just some local path name like C:\file\file.txt.
Run T-Code AL11. There you find the path of the directory sth like PI_files , where you can put the file.
you have to provide that  path in Communication channel. not your laptop folder path

  • Test Connection failed in Crystal Reports for Eclipse using SQL Server 2008

I installed an SQL Server Express 2008 on my local PC (Window XP SP3). I downloaded sqljdbc4.jar to Crystal Reports for Eclipse
IDE library path and tried to Test Connection, but got the Ping failed message : The TCP/IP connection to the host localhost, port 1433 has failed. It said that check that an instance of SQL Server is running on the host (I saw SQL Server SQLEXPRESS is Running on my PC) and accepting TCP/IP connection at the port (I enabled TCP/IPin my PC's SQL Server Network Configuration),
and that no firewall is blocking TCP connection to the port(I turned OFF Window Firewall on my OC). Can anyone tell me how can I fix this problem ?

    Hi,
    Check the below thread also:

  • Can't Create a Data Source - Failed to test connection. [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied

    Hi there,
I am having a serious issue with The Power BI Data Management Gateway which I am hoping that someone can help me with.
Basically I am setting a connection between a Power BI demo site and a SQL 2012 Database based on Azure. The Data Management Gateway and is up and running, and Power BI has managed to connect to it successfuly.
    By following the tutorials at
here I was able to successful create my Data Connection Gateway with a self-signed certificate.
However, when trying to create the data source I come into problems. The Data Source Manager manages to successfully resolve the hostname, as per the screenshot below:
Bear in mind that I exposed the require ports in Azure as endpoints and I managed to modify my hosts file on my local machine so I could access the SQL server hosted in Azure using its internal name -- otherwise I would not be able to get this far.
However the creation of the data source also fails when trying to created it whilst logged in the SQL server in question:
The Data Source Manager returns the error when using the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server:
Failed to test connection. [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied
I tried using the SQL Server Native Client 11.0 instead but I also get an error. This time the error is:
Failed to test connection. Login timeout expiredA network-related or instance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. Server is not found or not accessible. Check if instance name is correct and if SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. For more information see SQL Server Books Online.Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [53].
    Some considerations
If I provide an invalid username/password, the Data Source Manager does say that the username and password is incorrect.
Firewall is turned off in the SQL Server (either way, this error also happens if I try top use the Data Source Manager whilst logged in the SQL Server itself).
SQL Profiler does not show any attempt of connection.
The SQL server instance in question is the default one.
The error happens regardless if I select the option to encrypt connection or not.
In SQL Configuration manager I can see that all protocols are enabled (TCP/IP, Named Pipes and Shared Memory.
The Event Viewer does not provide any further errors than the one I have copied in this post.
I'm at a loss here. Could someone please advise what might I be doing wrong?
    Regards,
    P.

Here is what I had to do to solve this issue:
Basically I had to add the MSSQL TCP/IP port as an end-point in Azure. After I did that, then I was able to create the data-source. However, I was only able to authenticate with a SQL account, as any domain account would return me an error saying that the
    domain isn't trusted.
What puzzles me here is how come the Data Source Manager would inform me that an account username/password was invalid, but it would fail/timeout if I provided valid credentials (!?!?!!?)

  • Portal Test Connection Failed for JDBC Connector

    Hi,
We are trying to create a JDBC system in EP to connect SQL Server 2005 database. Our aim is to build a model in VC using data services from SQL Server 2005.
We deployed the Driver file sqljdbc.jar  and connection was successful when tested by creating a data source  in Visual Administrator-> JDBC Connector
We have created a system in EP with user mapping type (admin, user) and user mapping also done for system alias with the SQL Server administrator user id and password. UME is maintained in ABAP Stack. When we try for test connection with the system created in EP for JDBC connection, the system throws an error message like “Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct“
    Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
    2. Check the connection to the back end application using the connector defined in this system object
    Results
    Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct.
The following are the URL and driver class name:
    URL: jdbc:sqlserver://<host_name>:1433;DatabaseName=”db_ name”
    Driver class name: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
Is there any other setting to be maintained in the Visual Administrator or in the Portal?
Kindly let us know any clue to overcome this issue.
    Quick response highly appreciated.
    Regards

    Hi Saravanan and Sathish,
not sure how far you got with this. I had the same problem or at least a very similar one with access to MS SQL Server 2005 and solved it. I followed essentially very similar steps with a couple of minor twists:
    1) copied the sqljdbc.jar file to the storyboard server and  set the classpath environment variable to point to it.
    2) I did not create a data source, just created a new driver "SQLServer".
    3) Under Connector Container I cloned SDK_JDBC as "SDK_SSQL".
    4) The Visual Composer property vc.bi.sqlEditor Enabled should be set to true for you to be able the SQL Editor in the Data Service in VC.
In the portal I created a system of type BI_JDBC from a template.
The connection url and driver class were as in the thread:
    URL: jdbc:sqlserver:ipaddress:1433;DatabaseName=name
    Driver: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
    ConnectionFActoryClass as above under 3.
    User rights: admin,user
The user mapping to the system alias should be as described.
This should allow you to use the data service in VC to access SQL Server tables. If access to stored procedures (sometimes quite useful) is required, this would need to utilise the p9sqlserver.jar file already on the server.

  • SQL Developer 1.5.1.54.40 Test Connections fail

Test connections are failing unless the connection is saved first..Is this a feature?

Not seen anything like that with a valid userid/pass being reported as incorrect when testing. Testing connections for me is correctly reporting invalid userid/pass when password is invalid and reporting success when password is valid. I also cannot connect if I have an invalid password.
It appears that the Connect has an implicit save, so without selecting Save they are still saved to disk in the standard connections file.

  • Test connection fail in windows 8 while installing Informatica 9.1 HF2

I had lot of issue hile installing with HF2 in windows 8.The test connection is failed everytime.I created a user and also granted previlages to it.Please help me with this.
    Thanks in advance
    kaushik

I have found the reason for this... Actually i have ANT installed in my system prior to OIM installation... it was the culprit. Build was failing because i have two ANT's (one that comes with OIM and other ANT which is already installed)
I have removed the path and ANT_HOME environment variables.. .and my installation was successful

  • Test connection failed for resource(s): AD: == No route to host\n

Hi, First of all I would like to tell you that the application was running fine few days back, this issue has come suddenly.
I am getting following error while doing connection test for AD with SUN IDM:
Test connection failed for resource(s): AD: ==> No route to host\n
and when I try to open the detail for windows active directory arrow mark from the resource tab, Its giving me below error:
Error iterating over objects ==> com.waveset.util.WavesetException: ==>java.net.NoRouteToHostException: No route to host
I tried to google on this but all are pointing to some network/firewall problem.
Can anybody suggest me the correction ways to resolve this problem. Any idea how I can proceed further.
    Thanks,
    Jimmy

First of all, I dont know if you even done the proper fault elimination
No route to host is indicative of a network problem that could be based on several different faults.
Simplest way to check, log in to the system running your IdM.
first check if your nameservice is working
nslookup <your fully qualified hostname for the AD gateway>
    idmmgr@unix103a:$ nslookup idm-gw.company.com
    Server:         139.188.2.1
    Address:        139.188.2.1#53
    idm-gw.company.com canonical name = win050a.company.com.
    Name:   win050a.company.com
Address: 171.39.88.145if you get the right response there
    try pinging the returned address
    idmmgr@unix103a:$ ping 171.39.88.145
171.39.88.145 is aliveIf you have a routing problem it will probably show above...
if the route to the gateway works, it might be the gateway that cant talk to the AD
Just follow the track manually and if it stops working from one point, go past that point (if you can) and see if it works beyond it.
Either way, whatever resource is pointed out in the connectinfo in the pertinent adaptor or connector should work from the prompt of the system running it, if not, then you can start unraveling it from there.

  • IWeb Test Connection Fail

Hi Folks, I am sure that their have been a million questions on this subject on the Test Connection failing when testing your connection to the host.
I am not sure if a solution has been found. I am having this problem and need a solution. I would like to publish through the iWeb FTP page as this is a very simple process. I tried to publish via Cyberduck and this worked ok. However the simplicity of the iWeb publisher is what intrest's me.
Does anybody know of a solution?
    Many thanks
    Paul

Yes, there are a million questions about this.
This is the usual answer :
When iWeb tests the connection, it tries to write a file on the server based on the server settings you provide.
When it can write, the test is ok.
It does not mean that it is the right location where you should publish your webpages. Only that the location is writable.
If the test fails, it's usually the pathname that is wrong or incomplete. See the FAQ where you host your website to learn what the correct pathname is.
If you already have a website, check the settings of that website and use those.

  • LDAP access info in datasource xml file for multidomain Test Connect fails.

    Hello SDN
I've gone through the video that explains how to setup the multidomain conf.
I have my service users but when it comes to enter the ldap access user I'm not sure what info to enter.
My ldap user is created at the  company.com level not at the domain1.company.com level as is indicated in the video.
    I entered the following values
    ume.ldap.access.server_name> server1
    ume.ldap.access.user> [email protected]
    ume.ldap.access.base_path.user> CN=USERS,DC=COMPANY,DC=COM
    ume.ldap.access.base_path.grup> CN=USERS,DC=COMPANY,DC=COM
And when I try to test connection I'm getting an error. So I have two questions:
Should the ldap account be created at the domain1.company.com level?
And how do I get the correct info to populate the base_path fields? Not sure where to get it, I just followed video.
    Thanks for any help.
    MR

    Couple of things.,
    1. What LDAP you are using
    2. What kind of hierarchy (flat or deep)
The hierachy will decide the user path and the group path.
Given you have all the right values then you populate the values for the foolowing.,
    - Server Name or IP
    - Server port number
    - LDAP user name by (used for connectivity and access which should have enough rights)
    - Password for the LDAP user
    - User path
    - Group path
With all the above given right the test connection should succeed.
Optionally SSL can be enabled for LDAP connectivity and can specify unique attribute for UME unique ID (this field will be uid for SUN LDAP and samaccountname for MS AD)

Just concentrate on Username and Password. They are defintely not correct and as said by snowdog.Thank you for Snowdog and @waveset for your quick response.
Yes, "admin" and password "****" are an example about a user created in AD1 with rights enough to create and search objects in AD.
But I thing the problem is not the user. Could it be the password encryption?
