Test Design

How can I test the design within Forms Central prior to distribution?

I guess I need more information to be able to replicate your issue. When you say "custom form", do you mean you created a new form from a blank template (aka "from scratch")?
I just setup a custom form and I have Design, Options, Test, Distribute, View Responses, and Summary Report. These are the options whether I start with a custom form (equivalent to the quick template "blank template") or just a blank template from the quick select menu.
My only thought would be if you are a free account, but I remember having the option to test when I had a free account as well.
To answer your inquiry, on the form, the size of the text box you create in the design is the size it remains on the form when in use. If the filler types more text than what can fit in the box size you created on the form, then the scroll bar on the right side of the box will "activate" (become dark grey rather than "greyed out") and the box will become scrollable.

Indumathi, you will not have success in your job search if you cannot read and understand the job posting. Sending your CV to every posting on the forum will not get you a job in this field if you don't pay attention to the details.
In this particular job post it is stated that you must have a US Government Security Clearance to even be considered, not be eligible for one, actually have one. Unless you are a U.S. Citizen it is Highly unlikely that you have one, and even if a U.S. citizen it is unlikely to have a security clearance.

  • How to Test Design Time Fusion Customizations in JDeveloper

    Hi
When we look at the wording and the diagram in the Oracle documentation, it says -
"After you create these customizations, you can test them locally in JDeveloper and then deploy them directly into the full test environment. You can also deploy your customizations to a sandbox."
    2.1.2 Design Time Customization Workflow
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28271_01/fusionapps.1111/e16691/ext_lifecycle.htm#CHDIJJJJ
But the message in this OTN forum we are getting is that we have to deploy it to the server and cannot be tested out locally.
Could someone please clarify. The ability to test it out locally would be of tremendous help to us in reducing the development lifecycle.
    Thanks
    Srinivasa Sunchu

Sorry for the long delay. Response from the colleague:
    >
For SOA Jdev customizations there is nothing which can be tested locally in Jdev. The customized composite would need to be deployed to a standalone environment to test.
    >
For other DT customizations i.e. customizations created in JDeveloper for ADF can be tested locally on integrated WLS. RT customizations created using composers require a deployed environment; the the customized definitions can be tested in sandboxes from which they can be published into production.

  • Is ASA integration with ISE and RSA for 2 factor authentication a valid/tested design

    Hi,
Customer currently uses ASA to directly integrate with RSA kind of solution to provide 2 factor authentication mechanism for VPN user access.  We're considering to introduce ISE to this picture, and to offload posture analysis from ASA to ISE.  And the flow we're thinking is to have ASA interface to ISE and ISE interface to RSA and AD backend infrastructure.  And we still need the 2 factor authentication to work, i.e., customer gets a SMS code in addition to its login username and password.  I'm wondering if ASA/ISE/RSA/AD integrated solution (and with 2 factor authentication to work) is a tested solution or Cisco validate design?  Any potential issue may break the flow?
Thanks in advance for any input!
    Tina

    Hi,
I have an update for this quite broad question.
I have now came a bit further on the path.
Now the needed Radius Access Attribute are available in ISE after adding them in
    "Policy Elements" -> "Dictionaris" -> "System" -> "Radius" -> "Cisco-VPN3000".
I added both the attribute 146 Tunnel-Group-Name which I realy need to achive what I want(select diffrent OTP-backends depending on Tunnel Group in ASA) and the other new attribute 150 Client-Type which could be intresting to look at as well.
Here the "Diagnostics Tools" -> "Generel tools" -> "TCP Dump" and Wireshare helped me understand how this worked.
With that I could really see the attributes in the radius access requests going in to the ASA.
Now looking at a request in "Radius Authentication details" I have
    Other Attributes:
    ConfigVersionId=29,Device Port=1025,DestinationPort=1812,RadiusPacketType=AccessRequest,Protocol=Radius,CVPN3000/ASA/PIX7.x-Tunnel-Group-Name=SMHI-TG-RA-ISESMS,CVPN3000/ASA/PIX7.x-Client-Type=,CPMSessionID=ac100865000006294FD60A7F,.....
Ok, the tunnel group name attribute seems to be understood correct, but Client-Type just say =, no value for that.
That is strange, I must have defined that wrong(?), but lets leave that for now, I do not really need it for the moment being.
So now when I have this Tunnel-Group-Name attribute available I want to use it in my Rule-Based Authentication Policy.
Problem now is that as soon as I in an expression add a criteria containing Cisco-VPN3000:CVPN3000/ASA/PIX7.x-Tunnel-Group-Name matches .* (just anything), then that row does not match any more. It still work matching against NAS-IP and other attributes.
What could it be I have missed?
    Best regards
    /Mattias

  • UUT Test Design

I'm hoping someone can offer a design suggestion. I want to eventually open a sequence file associated with a UUT.  I would like each step to send (via Ethernet) a command to the UUT that it receives and in its own processor, kicks off that particular test (or set of tests) and reports back whether the test passed/failed. The tests within the UUT are currently written in C, but the TestStand OI and any other high-level tests (controlled by the PC) are written in LabVIEW (v8).  If a test fails, I'd like a subsequence of tests to be performed (fault isolation tests).  Thoughts?

I'm not really sure what you are asking for. This would seem to be a pretty simple task and the fact that the internal tests are written in C or any other language is irrelevant. I'm assuming that when a test completes, the UUT will respond with some sort of string (i.e. " test x passed"). You can write a LabVIEW test step to send the command and parse the response. You can make the step type either a string value test and have TestStand check the response or you can have a Pass/Fail step type and do the comparison in your VI. If you make it a string value test, then the response from the UUT is automatically logged. If you want the UUT response logged with a Pass/Fail step type, you can write the UUT response to Step.Result.ReportText. The fault isolation sequence would be controlled with a precondition. Select the test step and select Insert Step Fail.

  • Slow performance Designer 10g (on 10gR2 database)

We are busy testing Designer 10g version 10.1.2.5 (windows XP) on 10gR2 64 bit database (Sun solaris) . The repository was migrated from Designer 6.0.
But the performance/response is rather slow. Example: At first, opening a server model diagram took 2 minutes or more. By searching the forum we found the tip for the "alter system set OPTIMIZER_SECURE_VIEW_MERGING = false;". That made a big difference.
But now we still have response problems: Expanding the treeview for the list of tables, views or snapshots takes much longer then in Designer 6.0.
Also opening for example Design Editor takes longer then one normally expects, allthough some delay can be expected because we have a lot of applications (100) in the repository.
Is it because it is now written in Java, or are more database optimizations possible?
    Paul.

Have you computed statistics using the Repository Administration Utility (RAU)? The default percentage of 20% is usually good enough, but you could go higher.
Do a View Objects in RAU and check for missing, disabled or invalid objects. If you find any, there are ways to correct the situation, mostly under the Recreate button.
Make sure that no-one else is using the repository, then press the Recreate button in RAU and use the selection labeled: Truncate Temporary Tables. Sometimes these tables get too full and can impact performance.
Under the Options menu in RAU, there is an item labeled: Enable Performance Enhancements. To be honest with you, I've never noticed this item before, and I don't know for sure what it does. Then again, I've never had any serious performance problems in Designer. It might be worth your while to back up your repository, then turn this on.

  • Can I use NI TestStand for testing ZigBee and Bluetooth transceivers and processors

Hi , I should create , maintain snd excute  software test plans for testing low power wireless networks such as ZigBee, Bluetooth  using Python scripts and QA Methodology .The test design includes testing
RF transceivers, RF transmitters, RF receivers, System-on-Chips, Front Ends, ZigBee Processors, Bluetooth LE Processors, and RFID reader
I am a LabVIEW Developer and familiar with testing RF Components using NI Hardware such as PXIe system but I am new to TestStand and Python. Can I use Teststand to develop and deploy the tests for this purpose and also LabVIEW instead of Python
If it is possible could you please let me know that are the advantage and disadvantage of using LabVIEW and NI Test Stand for these kind of test design and implementation.
I greatly appercaite your help and advice on this matter .Many thanks.

    Hi en99,
I am unsure what you mean by usign LabVIEW instead of Python - what part of the system would LabVIEW replace? Usually if you were using Python in automated test, it would be to handle the test processing, which in this case is done by TestStand.
As for advantages of TestStand over LabVIEW, the main one which SunRS mentioned is that TestStand has a test management engine, which covers result logging and passing test parameters to the various test modules, which can be written in many languages. As I mentioned above, it is Python which is commonly used to write alternative test managament engines. It is possible to write one in LabVIEW, but for good results it must be carefully architected and is typically a very time-consuming task if you want to keep it modular and use it for other applications. TestStand also has a number of built in tools which help to monitor various aspects of the test sequences, as well as provide multithreading optimisations.
    I hope this helps

Blog on the topic: "Database unit testing is used for feature testing of your individual modules (stored procedures, triggers or user defined functions) that is to say your module performs as expected.  Apart from that, it is also used to ensure that
subsequent changes to the module does not break any functionality.
At first glace, it looks like this would add overhead to create vs. doing adhoc testing, but Visual Studio lets you automatically generate T-SQL code stubs to test the database object which you can customize as per your need.
Visual Studio provides Database Unit Test Designer which you can write/define T-SQL scripts (also insert SQL assertion in this code) that calls your module and then evaluates the execution result against the different test conditions which indicates your
    modules execution success or failure."

  • [SOLVED] designer doesn't store preferences. Is it me?

I have kdemod 3.5.10 installed, and qt 4.4.3-2 from extra. If I start qt designer, it opens with "Multiple Top-Level Windows". I change it to "Docked Window", click accept, and it's ok; but if I quit designer, it starts again with "Multiple Top-Level Windows". To be fair, it happens with any configuration option, but this is the most annoying setting.
I've tested designer from opensuse 11, and it's ok. So...is it a arch specific bug? is it me for having kde 3.5.10 and qt 4?

Fixed. For some reason, ~/.config/Trolltech was initially owned by root. (And I was expecting the config to be in ~/.kde)

  • Need Help With Spreadsheet Design

    Hi,
I write about diabetes on various Internet Forums and am currently involved in testing various blood glucose meters to determine the accuracy of the different makes/models. I am trying to design a spreadsheet in Appleworks to help me evaluate the meters but have very little experience with spreadsheets so am finding it tough going.
In comparing the various blood glucose values delivered by the meters I am trying to come up with a way to automatically compare 2 readings and then display how much a particular reading is above or below another percentage wise. The difficulty is that a particular meter might sometimes display a value higher than another one time, and lower than another the next time so I'm not sure how to design the speadsheet to automatically calculate the percentages.
For instance in sample one Meter A reads 115mg/dl and Meter B reads 87 mg/dl so by dividing the 115 into 87 I can determine that Meter A is reading 24% higher than Meter B. But then in sample two Meter A reads 89 mg/dl while Meter B reads 121 mg/dl so in this case Meter B is reading 26% higher than Meter A.
Is there a way to structure the spreadsheet so that it can compare the two readings and then based upon which one is higher divide the result into the lower one can come up with a percentage?
    Thanks!
    Winston

    Hi Winston,
Leaving aside any discussion of the actual test design, here's a rundown of how to make the spreadsheet do (most of) what you want it to do.
What I want the spreadsheet to do is to accept the data from meter 1 and meter 2 in side by side columns of cells. I next want the spreadsheet to compare the 2 bG values obtained from the same blood sample with these meters to one another and then divide the smaller value by the larger value to determine the amount in percent that one meter is higher or lower than the other.
This division (r/R) compares the smaller value (r) to the larger (R) and reports the result as a fraction.
eg. 75/100 = 0.75 The smaller reading is 75% of the larger reading, or the smaller reading is 25% lower than the higher reading.
But that does not mean the higher reading is 25% higher than the lower. That percentage is given by comparing the larger reading to the smaller (R/r). For the same pair of readings:
100/75 = 1.33.. The larger reading is 33% higher than the smaller.
As the percentages will be listed in columns labeled "Meter x higher", the R/r division is the appropriate one.
This is comparison is complicated by the fact that meter 1 will sometimes return the higher of the two readings, and at other times meter 2 will be higher. Thus it's not a simple matter of asking the spreadsheet to divide the result of meter 1 by the result of meter 2 each and every time or vice versa.
Next on the agenda I want the spreadsheet to put the result obtained by the above calculation in one or the other of two additional columns of cells. In other words the spreadsheet will compare the value of meter 1 to meter 2, divide the smaller value by the larger value to determine percentage, and finally place the result obtained in one of two additional columns of cells. One of these additional columns of cells would be labeled Meter 1 Higher and the other would be labeled Meter 2 higher.
All of the formulas given previously will make a comparison.
Niel's and Barry's report the percentage by which the higher reading is higher than the lower.
Brie's and Terry's report the percentage by which the lower reading is lower than the higher.
All put the results into the same cell (column) without regard to which reading is highest. (Barry's set includes labels to identify the higher meter.)
Here's mine again, with revisions to place the results into separate columns:
    Labels in Row 2: C2: Meter A, D2: Meter B, E2: A Higher, F2: B Higher
Tests results in Row 3, Meter A in C3, Meter B in D3
Comparison results in E3 and F3
E3: =IF(C3<D3,"",C3/D3-1) Set the Number Format of this cell to percent.
    F3: =IF(D3<C3,"",D3/C3-1) "
Note: the IF() statement suppresses the result in the column reporting "is higher" results for the meter with the ;ower reading. Written as above, the formulas will report in both columns where both meters show identical readings.
Note2: As written, the formulas will return a #DIV/0! error if no results have been entered on that line. The version below suppresses any results until readings have been entered in column D.
E3: =IF(D3,IF(C3<D3,"",C3/D3-1),"") Set the Number Format of this cell to percent.
    F3: =IF(D3,IF(D3<C3,"",D3/C3-1),"") "
Roughly 1,000 tests will be performed over a several month timespan and all the meter readings referred to above will each be compared by the spreadsheet.
The default size of an AppleWorks spreadsheet is 40 columns by 500 rows. Go Format > Document... to increase the number of rows to 1050 to allow room for 'roughly 1000 tests.'
For 1000 tests, fill the formulas above down through rows 3..1002 (aasumed in examples below).
Next I want the spreadsheet to examine all the cells in which meter 1 returned the higher result and perform the following calculations:
lowest percentage over meter 2 obtained
    highest percentage " "
    The second is easy: =MAX(E3..E1002)
Place the formula where you want this result reported.
The first runs into a problem: empty cells, or those with non numeric data are evaluated numerically as "0" by the MIN() function. There is a workaround.
Use an empty column to the right of the active part of the spreadsheet. (I've arbitrarily chosen column M)
    M3: =IF(E3>0,E3,1000)
    Fill down M3..M1002
This copies all greater than zero values into column M, and inserts a value of 1000 wherever the value in column E is 0.
The minimum value in this column (which is also the non-zero minimum of column E) is given by:
    =MIN(M3..M1002)
Place the formula where you want this result reported.
    number of identical readings obtained
I'm assuming you mean 'identical differences' in terms of percent higher.
There are a couple of difficulties here:
    1. AppleWorks does not include a MODE() function which would extract the number appearing with the greatest frequency.
    2. What constitutes "identical" depends on the (mathematical) precision of the results. AppleWorks can display results to 11 significant places (eg. 12.345678901), and actually does the calculations to a few more places than that. Given that precision, many results that are not significantly different willl not be identified as "identical."
Probably doable, but more detail needed before jumping in.
    average percentage " "
    average deviation
Not sure what you're asking with these. Can you elaborate?
    Regards
    Barry

       Thanks a tons in advance.
    Br
    Adam

    Hey Adam,
Not 100% sure what you're after, but if you're asking about how to test the logic and performance of your coherence based applications then I would suggest:
For functional tests: take a look at littlegrid. I've used this to great success in past projects.
For unit tests: design your code to abstract your business logic away from the Coherence implementation - that way you can unit test your business logic without Coherence.
For performance tests: well, that's quiet an lengthy topic on its own. For simple high level performance/throughput tests I've previously added appropriate info level logging to the application, which included the type and timings of each high-level operation, and then used log aggregation tools, (such as logscape or splunk, with my preference being the former), to plot the aggregated results from the clusters log file.   This is a powerful technique and one which I've use in dev & qa for performance testing and in production to give throughput and latency graphs and alerts on failing or slow operations.
    Hope this helps,
    Andy
