  • Final forum updates

Seeing as no-one has yet reported a single critical issue with new mods I am now at a point where I would like to put them to bed. However, before this happens I shall be adding the default post sort mod and the jabber ID mod.  I will NOT be adding the forum watch mod as this can now be accomplished by the RSS feed - a fact I have only recently realized.
If anyone else has any final requests or suggestions I would like to hear them before I make the final changes and close this chapter of forum updates.
Rest assured that I have seen and considered all previous requests and these have been judged on a basis of input vs output (i.e. is the effort worth the results), resource use and maintainability.  If your request has not been implemented already please don't suggest it again.

Penguin wrote:not a critical issue and not an update request...the DEBUG MODE messages one user was having in changing their avatar I am now experiencing. Its not a dire need to upload avatars but perhaps there lies a more serious issue?
The permissions on the dir are correct but I think some of the permissions on the files themselves are not - I cannot fix this and Judd must do it

  • How to remove test run (no update) check

    Hi gurus,
Im new to SAP HR..i wanted to perform live payroll run..and im unable to remove check in Test run (no update)..
    How to solve this...
    Thanks & regards
    Swethana

    Hi,
You may are using PC00_M40_CALC_SIMU for live run payroll. with this t.code we can not update the live payroll. For live payroll run we need to use PC00_M40_CALC in this t.code we can remove check mark for test run. after removng test run check filed, we can the live payroll. That too in simulation mode test run field s display mode not in changeble mode then we cannot remove the test run field in the simulation payroll i.e., PC00_M40_Calc_Simu.
    PC00_M99_Calc_Simu - international simulation payroll
PC00_M99_CALC - Internation payroll for live run.

  • Status of Wiki and Forum updates/migration/changes

    Hey all,
I've spent about two hours e-mailing and PMing various people interested in helping out with various wiki and forum tasks. This thread is an announcement of the current status, with the intent of getting everyone up to date. Its also an invitation to people working independently on things to get in touch with me ([email protected]), because I've found there's some duplicate labour going on out there. Please if you respond to this thread, keep on topic and be serious. Most of the current set up is about technical details; if you're not interested in these, don't post. Suggestions from interested observers can go in other threads (there's a lot to choose from!), I want actual feedback from people that are involved or willing to be involved with this project.
First, it looks like sometime in the future, we will be migrating the forums to punbb. The details haven't been hashed out yet, but Romashka and cactus have both been working on testing the migration process. Migration seems to be relatively simple, but there are a lot of small details to be worked out. I don't have any specific timeline, but I'm guessing the new forum won't be ready until sometime next year.
Second, we may be migrating to dokuwiki sometime in the future. I'm not sure when, but it probably won't be until after the forum migration or at the same time. Regardless of whether or not we migrate from mediawiki to dokuwiki, we are planning on integrating the wiki and forum authentication mechanism, so your account on one will also work on the other. (In the long run, I'm praying we can get organized enough to also integrate AUR and flyspray, but that's a vision not even open for discussion yet!).
Third, we are currently working on cleaning up the current mediawiki. Romashka is working on a new style and template to make the current installation more aesthetically tolerable. Foxbunny is working on the actual wiki texts, category, and language structure. Tardo has some kind of hack to deal with the multi-language issue; I'm not sure if that will be implemented, as I have no information yet on how difficult it is. Someone (possibly me) will also have to update the mediawiki installation from 1.5.whatever to 1.8.latest.
Chronologically, the cleanup of the current wiki will occur first, in the next few weeks, hopefully. Once we have an idea of how pretty and how organized we can make the existing installation, we will make the final decision on a dokuwiki migration. The integration of punbb and dokuwiki|mediawiki has to happen at about the same time, so the migration will not happen until after the forum migration.
We've have been considering setting up a mailing list or private forum for discussion of these topics, to restrict discussion to those people who are actually interested in helping out. Because I don't really like the elitist nature of such a move, I'm making this forum the place for open discussion on this topic for now.
    Thanks,
    Dusty

Yes I do see a bar with a cross. Presumably that allows deletion of the image. I have not got a post to hand with someone else's image attached but they have a cross for the OP and Mods.
Being able to browse all attached images may; very occasionally; be useful, if for instance there is a spam attack, but then we would need to know also which post the image was attached to.

  • Apple Hardware Test DISABLED by update?

Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions. Is there a way to get this feature working again?
MacBook (Late 2007) has a cool undocumented feature... hold the D key at startup, and Apple Hardware Test (AHT) launches--WITHOUT THE DVD. Yes, it's built-in.
Sadly, this feature seems to have been disabled by a recent update... possibly the Keyboard Firmware Update
Sigh. Now I have to drag out my clunky old DISC just to quick check TBOT
see other posts here regarding 4SNS/1/40000001:TBOT error in AHT

Try starting the AHT with the OPTION + D keys.
You should be able to use the #2 install disk.  It has the AHT instructions on it.
    Ciao.

  • Testing of applications / updates before deployment or within an OSD image

    Hi
I know this might not be the best place to ask for this, but since this is also related to Sccm, here i go...
I guess Windows Updates and new applications are the two most common examples where an issue might break critical applications and you would have to deal with it, even if it's not really an issue caused by Sccm.
While I understand, doing it myself, that a few manual checks are usually ok, are some of you automating the test process so that you positively know that the updates won't prevent your critical apps to work fine, or that the new application or
image bundle is working as expected?
Since I know the price and complexity of Enterprise test tools, can someone recommend some admin friendly tool that would do the trick without being too expensive ?
    Thanks in advance
    Bruno
    bruno

I think that you can't really automate that; there are too many different (custom) applications out there.

  • Forums updated to FluxBB 1.4.6

    hi all,
I just updated FluxBB to the recent version. Here is a list of new features: https://fluxbb.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=5697
Let us know if there are any problems.

I was just about to report this as well. I have this on Midori only, however. Firefox works.
On Midori (latest git version) this appears since yesterday (if I remember right) and happens only after some work on the board (English Arch forums only, others work ok). But when it once got to 502 it keeps being so for some hours, even after restart.
This happens only when I try to look at an individual post. Directories and "new"/"mark as read" do work.

  • Please Test My Forum

Hi can you please test my new phpbb forum and tell me what
    you think.
    Forum Link

You should know this by now then, please *do* not double or
triple posting in Dreamweaver forums for one same topic.
This will just to confuse participants as to keep track of
participation path or following disucssions if posted more than
three forums all together. So, please try to pick the appropriate
forum to address your post question.
Good luck with your own forums. Cheers!

  • Forum update info

As you may have noticed not everything is working as it was yesterday. There was a Forum sotware update last night and a few gremlins crept in (as usual...).
Please see this post in th Forum Comments for further details: The specified item was not found.

    Basic questions:
Have you defined a site on your local computer? If not, you must do so.
Once you have a site defined (including access information to the remote server), you should be able to look at the files on the server, as well as upload the more recent versions of files from your computer to the server.
If you have done all this and the new version is not showing on the website (in your browser), browse to the page on the web and refresh the page. It may be relying on a cached copy and not showing the version that is actually on the server.

  • Locked Labs Forums Update in Progress

The Forums are undergoing major renovation and will be
re-launched with a new look and feel. The re-launch is scheduled
    for Tuesday, September 25.
This re-launch is the result of bringing together the two
previous forum systems (Adobe and Macromedia) and combining the
features of both with an updated user experience. By creating a
unified user experience across all user forums we aim to create a
more seamless environment for the discussion of Labs technologies.
We understand that this will be a big change for all users and we
ask that you take a couple of days to try out the forums and get
used to the new design. All current message content going back
approximately two years from both previous systems will be
    available in the new system.
The changes will affect all users, both of the web and NNTP.
The forums.macromedia.com and adobeforums.com NNTP servers will be
retired for English language content. Going forward from September
25 NNTP users should connect to the new forum.adobe.com NNTP
server. Please note that the NNTP server will require that you log
in using your Adobe ID credentials. Anonymous NNTP connections will
no longer be available. Non English newsgroups will continue on the
forums.macromedia.com and forums.adobe.com NNTP servers with no
    change.
Users of the Labs Forums should be able to continue using
their Adobe ID or Macromedia ID to log into the Forums. In order to
better serve the needs of our customers we encourage you to provide
    feedback on the new forums.

    Hi,
what I can suggest you is try to create a program exit in the subworkflow  and in the program exit you can access the main workflow F wotkitem ID, by using thie main workflow workitem ID try to create the instance of the container. and from there in the program exit class you can set and get the values of the workflow container elements.
but here you have to make sure that you have to create the instance of the parent workitem ID  container, but  not the subworkflow workitem ID container.

  • I am so fed up with Apple and their lack of testing on Security Updates!!!!

I am so fed up with Apple, i have lost all hope in them whatsoever. Today i installed the Security Update 2007-009 1.1 and when prompted to restart did so, only to wait 5 minutes with my computer just idling and not restarting. So I then went to the apple menu to restart but still nothing happened. Pushed the Power button on my Mac and it brought up the dialog box for:
    ...Log off...Restart...Shutdown
But then it quickly logged-out giving me no time to even click on restart , so i logged back in , tried again, and of course it did the same thing again, so i logged back in and force shutdown holding down the power button for 5 seconds. Finally it shut down so i then Powered it back up, logged in with no problems.
Since the Security Update includes the update of Logic 8.0.1, I went straight to it in applications but found the Logic icon & Logic Node icon replaced by Blue folder icons. Upon clicking on Logic i was prompted with an error stating that it could not open because the file was corrupt, so i decided to delete Logic and along with Logic Node and empty the trash so that it would remove all its files. But now when i clicked on Trash, the window would not come up. I tried just empty trash from the dock but it would not empty the trash either. I can not open any finder window from my dock's Finder Icon.
I can open finder by clicking on Macintosh HD on my desktop but when i navigate through my folders all of my file icons have these weird sort of Distorted Scan lines through them.
So i decided i would open disk utility and try and repair whatever the **** is going on. Pressed verify Disk and it tried to Verify the disk but came back a minute after idling, giving me this error:
    Verifying volume “Macintosh HD”
    Checking HFS Plus volume.
    Checking Extents Overflow file.
    Checking Catalog file.
    Checking multi-linked files.
    Checking Catalog hierarchy.
    Checking Extended Attributes file.
    Checking volume bitmap.
    Checking volume information.
    Invalid volume free block count
(It should be (It should be 4 instead of 6294237)
    Volume Header needs minor repair
The volume Macintosh HD needs to be repaired.
Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit
    1 HFS volume checked
    Volume needs repair
Here is a screenshot of Disk Utility: http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g269/DjViral/Picture1.png
So obviously something is wrong because it reported failure on exit and Disk Utility will not even let me click on "Repair Disk", it is just faded out, un-click-able.
I would like to know what is wrong, and why Apple is releasing such **** as Security Updates. I mean isn't the whole point of a security update to make your computer more secure. Is this a joke or something?
I have lost all respect for you Apple. Not too mention this happened only 2 months ago with your last security update and i had to get my computer serviced which took 3 weeks. You better explain yourselves, apologize and start getting your sorry act together.

when prompted to restart did so, only to wait 5 minutes with my computer just idling and not restarting. So I then went to the apple menu to restart but still nothing happened. Pushed the Power button on my Mac
You should not have done that, it is a process that should never be interrupted.
    For next time:
There are no guarantees, but following this procedure when installing updates and upgrades on your Mac will go a long way towards avoiding unpleasant after effects and ‘post-update stress disorder’.
It is also worth noting that it is an extreme rarity for updates to cause upsets to your system, but they may well reveal pre-existing ones, particularly those of which you may have been unaware. If you are actually aware of any glitches, make sure they are fixed before proceeding further.
So before you do anything else:
If you can, make a full backup first.
Turn off sleep mode for both screen and hard disk.
Disconnect all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
    1. Repair Permissions (in Disk Utility)
    2. Verify the state of your hard disk using Disk Utility. If any faults are reported, restart from your install disk (holding down the C key), go to Disk Utility, and repair your startup disk. Restart again to get back to your startup disk.
At least you can now be reasonably certain that your system does not contain any obvious faults that might cause an update/upgrade to fail.
    3. Download the correct version of the COMBO update from the Apple download site. If your car runs on gasoline you would not want to fill the tank with diesel, so don’t try to install the PPC updater on an Intel Mac!
If you prefer to download updates via Software Update in the Apple menu (which would ensure that the correct version for your Mac was being downloaded), it is not recommended to allow SU to install major (or even minor) updates automatically. Set Software Update to just download the updater without immediately installing it. There is always the possibility that the combined download and install (which can be a lengthy process) might be interrupted by a power outage or your cat walking across the keyboard, and an interrupted install will almost certainly cause havoc. Once it is downloaded, you can install at a time that suits you. You should make a backup copy of the updater on a CD in case you ever need a reinstall.
Using the Combo updater ensures that all system files changed since the original 10.4.0 are included, and any that may have been missed out or subsequently damaged will be repaired. The Delta updater, although a temptingly smaller download, only takes you from the previous version to the new one, i.e. for example from 10.4.9 to 10.4.10. Software Update will generally download the Delta updater only. The preferable Combo updater needs to be downloaded from Apple's download site.
    Now proceed as follows:
    4. Close all applications.
    5. Unplug all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
    6. Install the update/upgrade. Do not under any circumstances interrupt this procedure. Do not do anything else on your computer while it is installing. Be patient.
    7. When it ask for a restart to complete the installation, click restart. This can take longer than normal, there are probably thousands of files to overwrite and place in the correct location. Do nothing while this is going on.
    8. Once your Mac is awake, repair permissions again, and you should be good to go!
If your Mac seems slightly sluggish or ‘different’, perform a second restart. It can’t hurt and is sometimes efficacious!
    9. Open a few of your most used applications and check that all is OK. In this connection please remember that not all manufacturers of third party applications and plug-ins, add-ons, haxies etc, will have had time to do any necessary rewrites to their software to make them 10.4.10. compliant. Give them a weeks or two while you regularly check their websites for updates. This applies particularly to plug-ins for Safari 3.
N.B. Do not attempt to install two different updates at the same time as each may have different routines and requirements. Follow the above recommendations for each update in turn.
Lastly, Apple's own article on the subject of Software Update may also be useful reading:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106695

    sorry,test the forum

What I did in one of my scripts was to test port 135 and 445 to verify WMI connection to the server, might not be bulletproof but it worked. Sample code below:
$TargetServers = Get-Content "[PATH TO TXT FILE WITH SERVERNAMES]"
$logfile = New-Item "[PATH TO OUTPUTFILE]" -ItemType file
    foreach ($server in $TargetServers){
    #Test server connection port 135 and 445

  • Forums Updates: feedback and questions answered

Some of you will have noticed some forum downtime today and no doubt you have noticed the changes!
I would appreciate it if people would consider the current state of the forum as a release candidate, rather than a final release.  I am sure there are some things that will need tweaking or fixing and some unforseen problems/issues.
Please report any such problems on the Forum, Wiki and Documentation Discussion board.  You can also provide feedback there.
A word of caution - when you click on the RSS link in the top right it will take you to the topics_anywhere page.  While viewing this page the navigation area in the top right will show that you are no longer logged in but you are!  Please do not panic.
    Thanks.
    .:edit:.
If people are confused by some of the recent changes then PLEASE feel free to ask questions in this thread.  Several of the boards have been moved or removed and we need to make sure everyone still feels that there is a proper place to post everything

I suppose that the one who added the new setting in user profile could answer this question better.
Anyway, I do not have any experience with writting php, but something like:
    <select name="postorder">
    <option value="asc" <?if(user wantsOldestFirst) echo "selected=true"?>>Oldest First</option>
    <option value="desc" <?if(user wantsOldestFirst) echo "selected=true"?>>Newest First</option>
    </select>
Please remember that I do not have php skills, so if I wrote something enormously stupid don't blame me, blame the .... keyboard.
