Test packet

 Bonjour,
IMAQ Error
Error 0xBFF69031
The system did not receive a test packet from the camera. The packet size may be too large for the network configuration or a firewall may be enabled.
J'ai essayé de changer la valeur du « test packet » mais il change lui même la valeur pour la mettre à 1500 ou 1428 et me donne toujours ce message d'erreur.
Je ne vois pas quel paramètre changer pour qu'il accepte ce « test packet ».
D'avance merci.
version de labview : 8.6
version de max : 4.6.0
version de IMAQ : 4.3
version de IMAQdx : 3.4
version de IMAQIO : 2.3.1

  • NIBTSG_LE_TP_PAYLOAD_TYPE defined as "LE TEST PACKETS FORMAT"?

In the "NI Bluetooth Toolkit .Net Wrapper" (niBT_DotNETWrapper), is
NIBTSG_LE_TP_PAYLOAD_TYPE the same as "LE TEST PACKETS FORMAT" as defined by the Bluetooth Specification 4.2, section 4.1, page 182?
    https://www.bluetooth.org/DocMan/handlers/DownloadDoc.ashx?doc_id=286439
If so, please make the documentation more clear.  The description at:
    http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/373431B-01/lvbtanalysisprop/attr3/
    says,
    LE-TP (27)
Specifies that the packet type is LE-TP.
Please do not define things as themselves.

    Hello Rick,
LE-TP is the test packet, but we support up to Blutooth Specification 4.0. You can find version 4.0 here.
Here is some other useful links that show the valid values for the property that I would like to have documented in this forum post.
Packet Settings: LE-TP Payload: Payoad Type Property
    NIBTSG_LE_TPPAYLOAD_TYPE
I will also be filling a Corrective Action Request to make that part of the documentation mor clear.

  • When I try to use the Vision Acquisition vi, I get an error message saying that " The system did not receive a test packet from the camera."

Did you try disabling test packets?  I know Basler cameras have a "Enable Test Packets" setting buried in Advanced Network settings or something like that.  You have to change the setting in MAX to show all settings instead of just acquisition, then locate the setting.  I have been told regularly that the setting must be turned off for Basler cameras to work properly.  Perhaps your camera has the same setting and the same requirement.
    Bruce
A very specific firmware revision for certain Basler cameras had an issue where the test packet would not be sent for certain packet sizes and certain specific conditions, causing a false report of a test packet failure when a normal acquisition would in fact succeed. However, this was fixed in later firmware revisions and I have never seen a similar issue on any other types of cameras.
Aside from this specific case, if a test packet fails, it generally means an acquisition will as well. Given that Pleora's software can acquire, we can rule out networking topology and hardware, assuming you are using the same packet size as the Pleora software is. The only other thing that would seem a likely candidate would be a software issue like a firewall or some other filter driver that is interefering with IMAQdx receiving the data.

  • Baumer GigE Test Packet (0xBFF69031) & Camera not Present Error

    Hi
I've tried various fixes from other posts and am still having problems setting up my Baumer TXG06 with LV running NI-IMAQdx 4.0.
The camera shows up ok in the Baumer SDK, but when attempting to grab an image in NI MAX I get "The System did not receive a test packet......." If I leave NI MAX open and try the same camera, I sometimes get "Camera Not Present...." error instead, even though it is still running ok on the network.
I've added an exception to windows firewall, enabled Jumbo packets, tried reducing the pcaket size and tried it without the Baumer software installed. Still no joy.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi
Thanks for the reply. I've checked the Baumer website and there doesn't appear to be any firmware available to download.
    Some additional info:-
Error still occurs after completely disabling the firewall on my PC.
I've run CameraValidator.exe /attributes as per the NI debug whitepaper and this seems to execute fine and generate a report on the camera's compatability.
It's strange because NI MAX shows when the camera is in use by another user, reports information like IP & serial fine, so it appears that it can 'see' it. It just can't seem to initiase it to grab any frames.
    Thanks

  • Software to test RADIUS/TACACS authentication to ACS server

    Hi experts,
Is anyone aware of a software that will test RADIUS and/or TACACS authentication to an ACS server from a PC? Same as what you can do on the Cisco VPN concentrator from the page Configuration | System | Servers | Authentication | Test Screen.
    Thanks in advance!

If you look in the ACS utils folder you'll see radtest and tactest.exe
These can be used to generate test packets. If you install ACS on another PC you can fire requests from that other PC too.
I think Vasco (token card vendor) had a really nice GUI based RADIUS client too.

  • Problem with IMAQdx and Pleora GigE Devices

We have an iPort Analog Pro Pleora device to convert analog camera output to GigE. Our old camera works properly using the manufacturer's application "GEV". Images are displayed without problem and any packet size works fine.
Using NI-MAX the device is found and configured properly, but trying to get images the following message appear:
"the system did not receive a test packet from the camera. The packet size may be too large for the network config or a firewall may be enabled".
Firewall has been disabled and several packet sizes tested, but no images received. Manufacturer said that: "I know that NI IMAQ-dx does not have multi channel support, you can stream from the first channel but what happens is when NI caches the XML file upon connection, it reads the SourceSelector register and defaults it to Source2. You have to manually change the XML file to read Source1 for the SourceSelector or you can change this in the IMAQ software itself." This is true, but modifiyng the icd file for the first channel, nothing happens.
Also, some old messages about a similar problem with the Pleora's devices recommended to set the package' size to 1400. Again, nothing happens.
Any piece of advice about this problem (I know many people is working with pleora's device under NI-labview)?
    Thanks in advance
    Enrique Joven (Spain)

    For interested people:
    1.- Select 1400 bytes packages
    2.- Always select "Source 1"
    and the most important thing:
3.- Select "Firewall Traversal - enabled"
    And works.

  • Can not get two instances to join same cluster even on same machine

On a RedHat Linux box, I have failed to get two instances of coherence to join the same cluster. I have managed to get the muticast test tool to show that packets are being sent and received. To do this, I had to:
    java -cp bin/tangasol.jar -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true com.tangosol.net.MulticastTest
    Wed Apr 15 21:02:45 WET 2009: Sent packet 1.
Wed Apr 15 21:02:45 WET 2009: Received test packet 1 from self (sent 7ms ago).
    Wed Apr 15 21:02:47 WET 2009: Sent packet 2.
Wed Apr 15 21:02:47 WET 2009: Received test packet 2 from self
    Wed Apr 15 21:02:49 WET 2009: Sent packet 3.
Wed Apr 15 21:02:49 WET 2009: Received test packet 3 from self (sent 1ms ago).
    Wed Apr 15 21:02:51 WET 2009: Sent packet 4.
Wed Apr 15 21:02:51 WET 2009: Received test packet 4 from self
However, I could not get the following to show that two instances are joining the same cluster... When I start to instances, both of them create a new cluster with only one member in each.
    java -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -jar lib/coherence.jar
and obviously, when I try to start two instances of the sample application, I get the same problem.
    java -cp ./lib/coherence.jar:./lib/tangosol.jar:./examples/java -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Dtangosol.coherence.localhost=172.16.27.10 -Dtangosol.coherence.localport=8188 -Dtangosol.coherence.cacheconfig=/cache/explore-config.xml com.tangosol.examples.explore.SimpleCacheExplorer

    Thanks for that... I ran:
    jdk1.6.0_13/bin/java -Dtangosol.coherence.log.level=6 -Dtangosol.coherence.log=/my1.log -Dtangosol.ccacheconfig=/cache/explore-config.xml -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -jar lib/coherence.jar
    and then
    jdk1.6.0_13/bin/java -Dtangosol.coherence.log.level=6 -Dtangosol.coherence.log=/my2.log -Dtangosol.ccacheconfig=/cache/explore-config.xml -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -jar lib/coherence.jar
from the same machine and get the following from the log file of the second run (my2.log)

  • Mutlicasttest working, but nodes not found.

    Hello,
I'm having problem setting up the coherence cluster. I'm trying to connect 2 coherence instances on 2 different machines.
The multicast test works fine: each coherence server receives messages from the other. However, when starting Coherence (with default parameters), the cluster does not get initialized, and the servers do not seem to find eachother. Weird...
Any thoughts what might be the problem?
    Thanks

  • Tutorial for Oracle Coherence Release 3.6 does not work

I am new to Oracle Coherence and just download the newest release 3.6 of coherence together with JDveloper (Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0, Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.3.PS2_GENERIC_100408.2356.5660) and started to go throught the tutorial step by step. Having completed chapter 1 and 2 and started to work on chapter 3: Accessing the Data Grid from Java and get stuck with the sampleas code related to classes "MyFirstSample" and "MyFirstSampleReader". According to the doc once the cahce-server is running (by running cache-server.cmd in dos) then
run a) MyFirstSample which will put an "Name" entry to myCache and exit
    b) run MyFirstSampleReader which will retrieve the entry "Name" populated with "MyFirstSample". But i got null value back.
The following are logs for cache-server (I), MyFirstSample (II) and MyFirstSampleReader (III) respectively:
    (I) cache-server console output:

  • Error when conneced over network

    Hey guys,
I have been using two basler cameras to perform vision acquisition and has worked fine the last two months while in development, however i have now started to deploy this on two other machines in the workplace and have conected over the network, i can ick up the cameras but i cannot acquire images it tells me the camera did not receive a test packet, the test packet size might be too large for network configuration or firewall is enabled. my test acket size was 4000. I have changed no settings so i am confused as to why now it does not work. The firewall was always disabled. Any suggestions welcome
    Damien
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Does it have to be connected through the company network?  There is probably a lot of non-camera data moving around on the company network, so it is probably messing things up.  I always set up my DAQ or vision systems on their own network to avoid the problem.  Vision systems especially send a lot of data over the network, using a large percentage of the bandwidth at full speed.
Are you trying to do continuous, high speed acquisition, or just snapping a frame every now and then?  I would try snapping a single image to see if that works, then work your way up from low speed (1 frame/sec) to whatever you need.
Can you check your percentage of bandwidth use when connected directly?

  • Strange delay when executing procedures

    Hi,
When migrating from SQL 2008 to SQL 2014 I come across a strange issue where some of our stored procedures always takes 500+ ms to execute (client side). The problem seems to be in the packet size together with the size of the columns.
Executing the procedure below on the client takes 500 ms. Bu just removing one character from a field name and the issue dissappears.
There is no delay if the test application is started on the SQL server itself - only on the clients. The firewall is off and there is no real time anti-virus running.
    Any help is welcome

Btw. We have the same delay using a non-virtualized client (win7)...
There are a couple of mysteries here.  One is that connection pooling circumvents the problem.  I would expect the opposite.  The other is that decreasing the network packet size improves performance with larger results.  Again, I would
    expect the opposite.
See if you can reproduce the issue with the code below, which gathers more detailed timings.  If so, can you run it against a physical SQL box too.

  • Calculation of estimated to transfer a file

Does anyone of you here have any tips or code on how to do a estimation of a file transfer timing needed before the actual transfer start.
kindly email me at [email protected]

    Yes, this requires 2 things:
    1) File size must be known (add 27% for overhead)
    2) Link must be charactorized
To give any real caulcuation of the link speed - which WILL vary.
Send a test packet of a known length and time the response (client/server needed). Doing this multiple times will give you the averange charactor.
Then take the file size and divide it by the link speed.

  • 0xBFF69001 0xBFFF800B errors with GigE JAI CV-A10GE

I've got a CV-A10GE camera from JAI. It seems to work fine using Stemmer Imaging's software (GenICam), but I can't get it working in LabView. It appears as cam0 in MAX, but when I try to highlight it in MAX I get an error dialog:
    Error 0xBFFF800B
The session for your device could not be configured.
In LabView I can get the camera to show up using IMAQdx Enumerate Camers.vi, but I can't get any images out of it. When I try to open the camera I get:
Error -1074360319 occurred at IMAQdx Open Camera.vi
    Possible reason(s):
    NI-IMAQdx: (Hex 0xBFF69001) Internal error
I should note that I've removed all the Stemmer Imaging CVB related software, and the JAI SDK, so it's only LabView trying to access this camera. I have another USB CMOS camera working in LabView on the same system, so it's definitely a GigE problem. Any suggestions anyone?

    JDorsey wrote:
just reading some documentation on the way home. CVB requires me to set the NIC address to 169.254.x.x on subnet 255.255.0.0. Does NI-IMAQdx really require me to use DHCP and wait for the DHCP timeout (on XP)? If this is an absolute requirement then that could be the solution (although it would mean IMAQdx is not strictly GigE compliant.
Any thoughts on whether this could be the answer anyone?
Setting a 169.254.x.x address with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0 will be sufficient. All IMAQdx requires is that the camera's address be correctly addressable by the host PC. Generally we recommend customers configure everything to "automatic" so both the camera and the host follow the link-local address mechanism described by RFC 3927. If you manually configure a 169.254/16 address then you violate this RFC and need to take care not to cause conditions that could make the the mechanism to fail. Generally though as long as you can ping the device, your IP connectivity is set up properly and IMAQdx should work correctly. Also, in Windows Vista and above, the link-local process no longer takes 60 seconds so there is no advantage to hard-code a staticlly-assigned link-local-esq address.
As for your original problem(s), I have some thoughts:
It seems that the problem with the PeakBandwidth attribute and the SCPD attribute is ultimately caused by the fact that their XML file seems to specify a maximum value of the bandwidth available that is not 1000Mbit. The test code in the attribute validator tries to set it to the maximum, then check if it is valid. When we set it, it has to be translated from Mbit/sec to camera clock ticks in the SCPD register.  Generally since the max value of thr bandwidth control is derived from the range of SCPD, this number should be equivalent. However, since it is floating point math, you don't end up with an exact integer amount and there must be rounding here. It appears that IMAQdx only rounds the SCPD register _down_ even though apparently in this unique case it needs to round _up_ (which is generally not the case since most only have limits on how much you can throttle it, not how little). In general this issue should only affect the validation tool (I think). As long as you don't modify the PeakBandwith attribute (or set it to one notch below the ~996 value it maxes out at) it should not be a problem.
As for the test packet failure, have you tried changing the packet size to 1500 bytes? If that works it could indicate an issue with receiving jumbo frames (possibly other network hardware like a switch in the path)?. If it still doesn't work, you could possibly try disabling the Test Packet support under the Advanced Ethernet settings of the camera attributes tab in MAX (you might need to enable the "Show all attributes" filter on the tree first). In general when you get this failure it is not a fault of the test itself but rather that the packets aren't getting through. This means that if you disable the test packet you'll simply get a more general timeout error instead. However, there have been one or two rare exceptions where specific cameras have had "broken" test packet implementations that did not work properly. However, all of those that I know about were fixed in updated camera firmware long ago.
    Hope this helps,
    Eric

Had the same issue and found that the new servers that have processors on the network cards result in network packet loss with SAP applications. Switch off option on network card to process network via CPU and no the network card processor.
NIPING is a great tool to find the problem! It is a SAP tool that tests the Network Interface Layer (NI) of a SAP a client to a SAP Server (you load it both ends) Download from SAP Market Place. You need the newest NIPING version for this test, please follow SAP note 799428 to get it.
Took this from another site: Option 2  reported network packet loss. Network guys were then able to trace the issue to network card settings.

    Solution
To help diagnose the network or measure network metrics you can test the connection using SAP's NIPING program. You can use NIPING to analyze the network connection between any two machines running SAP software, for example between:
    Frontend PC and application server
Two application servers, perhaps belonging to different SAP systems
Application server and database server or live cache server
RFC server or client programs and application server
The machines can be connected either by a local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN).
In contrast to the normal PING command, NIPING operates on the TCP socket layer, which is the same layer used by SAP application programs. Therefore, NIPING can be used to identify also errors related to the TCP and socket implementation on the platform.
Please fetch the latest version of NIPING from the service market place as described in SAP note 799428. If this is not possible for you, you can use the NIPING which is located in the executables directory on any SAP server.
    How to use NIPING
Starting NIPING without arguments displays a short help message. Find a short exlanation of the most important options below:
First start the NIPING server on computer A (e.g., the Application Server) with the command line:
niping -s -I 0 (the last character is zero, not the letter O)
Then start the client (e.g. on the front-end machine) with the command:
    niping -c -H [ -B -L -D ]
may also be the host name or the IP address of host A. The remaining arguments are optional.
(default 1000 bytes) determines the size of the data packets. Please test at least the values 500, 1000, 1400, 1500, 4000 and 10000. This test is especially important to find errors related to the maximum transmission unit (MTU). Please also refer to notes 26086, 107407, 67098 and 44803.
is the number of packets sent (default 10). To find spurious erors it may help to simulate high network load using 1000 loops or more. For a permanent test use a number of e.g. 1000000 loops.
If you test during productive hours and don't want to consume too much bandwidth you can set a between requests ( is in milliseconds).
    Examples
    1) Measuring network metrics (throughput and RTT)
Throughput is the number of bytes per second that an application can send through the network. Measured values will vary according to the actual load of the network. Round trip time (RTT) is the time for a small data packet to be transmitted from the sender to the receiver and back again to the sender. RTT is mainly influenced by network topology and equipment and normally cannot be improved significantly by increasing bandwidth.
    Measuring throughput
    niping -c -H -B 100000
The use of large blocks reduces impact of network latency. After completion niping will report throughput as value tr2 in kB/s (kilobytes per second).
    Measuring RTT
    niping -c -H -B 1 -L 100
(The buffersize of 1 may cause an error in older versions of niping. If so please use niping -c -H -B 20 -L 100 instead)
Small blocks and 100 loops are used to measure the average RTT. The value av2 represents the RTT in ms (milliseconds)
    2) Long LAN stability test:
    niping -c -H -B 10000 -D 100 -L 360000
This test will consume 100000 Bytes/second of bandwidth (about 10% of a 10 mbps Ethernet) and run for 10 hours.
You need the newest NIPING version for this test, please follow SAP note 799428 to get it.
    3a) Long WAN test (stability):
    niping -c -H -B 200 -D 1000 -L 36000
This test uses about 5% of an ISDN line of 64 kbps and also runs for 10 hours.
Interpreting NIPING's output: In this test, the times measured by NIPING correspond mostly to the network latency (round trip time - RTT). The throughput measurement has no meaning in this case.
3b) Long WAN test (idle timeouts):
    niping -c -H -P -D 3600000
This test establishes a TCP connection and sends a test packet every
hour (delay of 3600000ms). It runs for 10 hours. The goal is to see if
the TCP connection is disrupted by some "idle timeout". Most firewalls
apply such timeouts. But SAP applications make use of long lasting TCP
connection and thus may be hit by such idle timeouts.
You need the newest NIPING version for this test, please follow SAP
    note 799428 to get it.
    4) Short throughput/stability test:
    niping -c -H -B 1000000 -L 100
Tests connection with 100 MB of data as fast as possibly. On a 100 Mbps Ethernet this should take about 10 seconds. During the test, other applications may be impaired. On a slow WAN connection, reduce loops to 10 (-L 10).
Interpreting NIPING's output: This test uses large blocks of data. Therefore, it can be used to measure throughput available to NIPING. Check the output "tr2". It states the throughtput in kilo-byte per second measured from all packets except the fastest and the slowest one. Multiply this value by 10 to obtain an estimate of the line bandwidth in kilo-bit per second (kbps). Does this value differ by a large amount (at least a factor of two) from the one expected for the connection you are analyzing? This could be an indication of network problems: Either the line is overloaded, or there are other problems with the connection.
    5) MTU test:
See related notes 155147 and 107407 for an explanation of this test (even if you are not analyzing a Windows system).
    niping -c -H -B
    Vary X according to the values given above (500, 1000, 1400, 1500, 4000, 10000 and 40000)
Note for Windows NT/2000: If client or server are under heavy load while you perform the measurement, you should start NIPING with high priority. To do this, start NIPING with the following command line:
    start /b /wait /high niping
Please test the TCP/IP communication between all concerned machines. Using the options described above, you can either do a long time connection test to find intermittent problems or do a short term stress test with large packets to find fundamental connection problems.
NIPING should not abort with an error message under any circumstances. If you can reproduce an error using NIPING then the problem is definitely related to the network layers, not to the application.
    Information needed by SAP
If you need further assistance from SAP support, please start both client and server with the additional argument
    -V 2 -T
Replace with an appropriate file name for trace output.
Now send both trace files along with a description of what you did to produce the traces to SAP. (For example, attach the files to a problem message).

  • Mls qos trust

Hello, if the command 'mls qos trust xxxxx' is not issued, and qos is turned on for the interface, does this mean the switch will erase all cos and dscp markings received, therefore preventing me from testing packets/frames against these cos/dscp values ?
So if I want to set up class maps, policy maps, and then service policies, it is essential that I:
    1. turn on mls qos ?
    2. enter a trust statement in order to preserve the cos or dscp values that I want to test against ?
    3. now I can test against against cos or dscp values ?
    Thanks for clarification.

That is correct, when you would use for instance mls qos trust cos. You would need to define you cos<>dscp mappings on the switch and the switch will apply qos accordingly.
So really if you have an ingress switch port and you trust cos or dscp, you can still have egress policies on a port (on the same switch), using these cos or dscp values.
the mls qos trus command is just a way to make it easier to rely on existing cos/dscp values that a phone sends (based on your CUCM configuration,), without the need for you having to configure it explicitly on each access port.
