Test plan and scripts as accelerators

Hi
I'm about to start installing a RDS for PPM 6.0. In the SBS (Step-By-Step Guide) standard test plans and scripts are listed as accelerators. In the RDS package, however, I cannot find any documents describing the test plan or scripts. There are no links to these documents in the SBS.
Does anyone know where to find these documents for PPM 6.0?
I can of course create this manually, but it will save a lot of time to use the provided accelerators.

Yes, this feature released in TFS 2013 Update 3. But as the TFS 2013 Update 4 has released too, so we suggest you upgrade your TFS to TFS 2013 Update 4.
After you upgraded to TFS 2013 Update 4, if you want use this feature in the old/upgraded team projects, you need configure features for these team project, please refer to the detailed information in this document:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff432837.aspx. For example, if one your upgraded team project created using CMMI 12.2, open this team project’s Web Access admin page, click
Configure Features>>select the CMMI 2013.4 in the
Choose a process template to continue textbox, then click Configure button.
For the custom process templates, we suggest you download the new 2013.4 versions process template from your collection after upgraded to TFS 2013 Update 4, then custom that 2013.4 process templates to instead of that old customized 12.2 process templates,
then upload the new customized process templates to your collection and create team project use them if you want.
That not impact your Reporting Services reports.
As I said, we suggest you upgrade to TFS 2013 Update 4, In-place upgrade or migrate upgrade both are ok.
Note: make the full backup for your TFS Server databases before any upgrade or migrate operation.

EDQ Test planning and recording

Hi,
I'm working on a data deduplication and matching project using EDQ. We need to document our unit test plans and evidence. EDQ allows easy manual checking of dataflows but I don't want to waste time taking screen grabs and producing unwieldy documents. Are there any test planning or test automation tools that we can use? Failing that is it possible to export the results and evidence that each function has worked? If neither of these are options can i ask how others capture unit test evidence?

Actually, we are running Analyzer and Essbase on the same server and reports on a seperate server. I inherited the Essbase/Analyzer configuration and since it is working well, I'm not looking to mess with it. Reports worked out well because we had just decommissioned a server that was running SpiderMan (Hyperion Enterprise Web tool) when we took Spiderman down, it freed up a perfectly good server which was already configured for Internet access. The install of reports was smoother than we could have hoped for.oh, and we do not have planning..Still using Pillar.

Using Test Plan and Test Suites as work items

Hi everybody.
I need to incorporate the new feature of TFS 2013 that let me manage Test Plans and Test Suites as work ítems to my current TFS environment. I have TFS 2013 Update 3 (12.0.30324); I guess this feature was released after the release I have.
So, my questions are:
- How can I integrate the work ítem definitions to my process template? I'm using a customized version of CMMI 12.2 and this version didn't have this elements as work ítems.
- How can I adjust the existing data of all my Team Projects in order to use this functionality?
- Is there any impact on the existing Reporting Services reports? or the new process template have incorporated the appropiated changes?
- Do I need to upgrade my TFS Server? If so, a migration process is needed?
Any help will be appreciated.

How to execute Script in Test Plan with two different System Data Container

I need to execute one Test Config in a Test Plan with one System Data Container and another Test Config in a Test plan with another SDC.
How to achieve this ?

Currently it is not possible, to maintain more than one SDC on a test plan.
A workaround is, to maintain one SDC on a test plan and specify no target system direct in a test plan. If you maintain then your two systems in one SDC, you can specifiy each target system in the test configuration, where it is needed.
Here the example:
test plan:
systemdata container: SDC_ALL
target system: <empty>
test config 1:
systemdata container:
target system: CRM
test config 2:
systemdata container:
target system: ERP
systemdata container: SDC_ALL
target system: CRM -> rfc 1
target system: ERP -> rfc 2

Testmanagement: transport of business blueprints and test plans?

For the moment we have the following situation:
We have a 3 system landscape. (development system, test system and productive system)
On the the test system, the testmanagment module (testworkbench) was integrated. This is used by 5 test projects from extern SAP systems.
My question: Is there a possibility to transport the Businesses Blueprints and the test plans of the actual test projects into the productive system?

We have experienced similar problems. A transport of the test plan and copies of the test plans have resulted in us loosing status values and test notes.
I was informed it had to do with the fact the information is stored in the GUI. How I don't know, I am not a technical person.
I was wondering if you may have encountered the similar problems I have had above and found ways around it.

I am giving you the information on test plan and test scenario below. Please note that this is with reference to Solution Manager.
You create a test plan for a project in the SAP Solution Manager if you want to reuse the project structure created in the Business Blueprint for a process-oriented test. You can select all the test cases and transactions which you have assigned to the project structure, for the test plan. These test cases are performed by testers; they can call assigned transactions and run test cases in them.
Test Scenarios are nothing but the end to end business processes which are to be tested.

Test Suites and Test Plans Question

We are using the TFS 2013 and in the Team Web Access, whenever I create a Test Plan, it creates a Test Suite with the same title. If I delete the test suite, next time I select the test plan in the test section of Team Web Access it creates another
Test Suite again with the same title as the Test Plan.
Why do we have this?
Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
Am I missing something?

I don't find any public official document about the test suite that created with a test plan, what I mentioned is an explantation about the type of test suite. And it's not affect the testing or creating test cases/test suites/plans in team web access.
To organize test cases in a teat plan, you have to create test suites under the test plan and then use test suite to include test cases. Check this
page for more information.

Transport of Test Plan / Test Packages

Dear all,
We intend to transport a test plan with all test packages from the development Solution Manager to the productive Solution Manager because in the productive Solution Manager no configuration is allowed.
We are using the Solution Manager functionality to execute manual testing in the following way:
On SOLAR02 the project 'FOUNDATION' is stored. The project 'FOUNDATION' has been migrated from a outstanding sandbox Solution Manager system to all three Solution Manager Systems: DEV, TEST and PROD. Test scripts have been uploaded on the 'test cases' tab of the respective business process branch.
In the development Solution Manager SMD a test plan has been generated using the uploaded test scripts mentioned above.
On the quality assurance Solution Manager the same project 'FOUNDATION' is stored and the same test scripts are uploaded on the same branches.
When the test plan is transported (using the recommended STWB_2 transport functionality) from the development SM to the quality assurance SM there are two issues.
1. The transported test plan cannot be edited / regenerated anymore. An error message "The specified structure does not exist" is displayed. Message number is SOLAR056.
2. The transported packages can be assigned to users but no notes can be added to the test cases. The error message is: "Unable to find template". Message number is SOFFICEINTEGRATION231.
It seems that the transported test plan cannot retrieve the underlying project structure, even it is identical to the project structure of the development SM.
This problem is urgent to us, as the test phase is starting next week.

Consolidated status overview for all test plan

Hi all,
We are performing our Integration test from SolMan. I would like to generate a consolidated report which will give me data same way as the status overview gives for individual test plan.
This will help me to track the progress at the test package level, which inturn is my IT scenario.
Any quick help will be highly appreciated.

I am aware of this, but this gives me details for one test plan. Even when I use STWB_2, it gives me summary of all the test plans, and for status overview I have to go in each and every test plan.
I am looking for some way out to generate the status overview of multiple test plans together in same screen, for reporting purpose.
Any suggestions?

Error during generate test plan

I'm trying to generate a test plan in Microsoft test Manager 2013 but during the criation of the template always appears the same error.

How do you generate test plan in MTM, please provide the detail steps. Do you clone test plan in MTM? What’s the version of your TFS?

Test plans

Hi friends , I am new to SAP testing and have been given a scenario to write test plan and cases.
the scenario is like this . there are two output types configured in Nace : Z123 and Z456.
Z123 : Sends an email with the invoice doc as PDF attached to a mail to the AR team for checking.
Z456 : After checking they send the same invoice as PDF to the customer of the invoice through VF33 transaction .
can some one tell where to find the Customer for an invoice?
Can any one suggest what are the possible test plans /cases that can come up in this scenario?

If this is related to some sort of financial module or system, then perhaps it's better to move this thread to one of the EBS or Peoplesoft forums.

Reg: Test Sequences in Test Plan Management

   I do created the Test plan and Created Test Packages and also assigned Testers to that package
        I do also created a Sequences for the testers
                       But it allows the tester to change the status whose in Sequence 2 before the tester whose in sequence 1 is not yet ended the test.
         It give just an information
Previous test case not yet finished
Message no. AGSTWB000
I wanna make it as an error- It should not allow the tester in sequence 2 to change the status until tester of sequence is completed / ended the test.
Help me to guide this issue

MTM - Clone a test plan

Hello,
We have upgraded to the new version (2012.4) specially for the Clone feature.
I did some testing and saw that it worked as expected, happily I went back to my master test plan and updated all the Area Paths (not sure if this is the issue, but it is the only major change I made). After doing so I got back and tried to clone my master
test plan. I click on the clone button and nothing happens (I can keep on pressing it more and more but no error comes out).
We have tried to clone less tests, inactive and active projects, we even tried with another user... nothing changed. I click on Clone and nothing happens.
Any idea what went wrong?

I'm aware of this dialog and when we click on Clone it doesn't do anything. We are in version 2012.4 both MTM and VS. We tried it on different machines as well.
I must add (as mentioned before) that it worked for us when we did a small test, and now it doesn't do a thing.
