Test Stand LabView adapter 8.6 run time will not run 8.5 VIs

I’m trying to run a script I developed with a dev computer on
a regular PC set up with a Test Stand User Gui, and run times for Test Stand
and Labview.
With the Test Stand Labview adapter set to 8.6.1 all of my
ENA(Agilent Network Analyzer) calls fail for “VI Version is too early to
convert  to the current  LabVIEW version.”  The ENA library is written in 8.5.  If I set the adapter to 8.5.1 then all of the
VIs developed in 8.6 fail.  In addition
it will not run any VIs that I save back to 8.5.  I installed a demo Labview development
version (2010?) and everything ran fine with the adapter set to Development
System.
I am not sure what to try next to get it to run on the
regular PC, any hints.
Test Stand = 4.2
LabView = 8.6
Running in windows XP

One of the many things I tried was saving the ENA library to 8.6, but I could not get it work.
This is the Original library I installed and was trying to Convert (8.0 upgrade agena.zip)
http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=001CE83736F3674BE0440003BA7CCD...
I am about to try this one. (8.2.1 Upgrade)
http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=74D1F1D4EB5268E8E04400144FB7D2...
I am pretty new to labview so I am not sure how to make the save to previous version workfor libraries, but I can easily do it with individual VIs.  For libraries, it creates a new directory, and puts in all of the files and then asks me about saving the lib files as something else.  This is where I think I get it wrong.  I tried it again today and got the same results.
I greatly appreciate the Help

  • 12-month old iMac running Mavericks will not run Yosemite

I have an iMac 21.5", bought new in September 2013 and currently running Mavericks with no problem. The OS is on the internal Mac HDD while Time Machine is on an external HDD. Previous OS updates have installed OK.
Yosemite however will not run. After installation I can log in with no problem and all seems well -- the first time.  All attempts to log in after the first produce the Apple logo and progress bar, but the bar advances only about one third of the way and hangs up, even when left for an hour or more. Nothing at all can move it -- all I can do is reboot by powering off/on. No login appears, just -- the logo and progress bar, which starts to run then stops as before.
If I reinstall Yosemite then I get one login as before, followed by the same failure -- I have now re-installed three times.
I have tried rolling back to earlier (pre-Mavericks) OS versions on Time Machine before installing Yosemite -- same result.
Right now I am back on the previous Mavericks.  All is OK and I can live without Yosemite, but I am becoming concerned for future-proofing my apps. Newer versions, for Yosemite, are not going to run.
Any help would be appreciated please.
    Best wishes to all.

Sadly it did not last. Yesterday it again froze on login and this time Safe Boot got me nowhere.
No doubt if I carry on experimenting I can sort it out,  but I can longer justify the long breaks from my work. I have rolled back via Time Machine to my last Mavericks-based save, and there it stays until someone at Apple gets to grips with Yosemite. Or replaces it, which I expect won't be long . . .
It just is not good enough to tell the consumer that  they must accept bugs with a new release, or that it's all their own, or their system's fault  or that they should get help from a support forum -- any clerk should be able to sit down and just use it. If a machine was running OK with an existing OS,  then it should seamlessly switch to the new without calling for a Masters in IT to figure it out. No ifs or buts. We pay  a premium price for a Mac and deserve better than this from Apple.
From my standpoint, Yosemite is without doubt the worst beast of an OS -- from any source -- that it has ever been my misfortune to encounter. This is my third Mac over the years, and at this rate it's my last -- for all Microsoft's failings, I have never encountered anything like this with Windows.

  • Quick Time will not run on Windows XP PC

When I try starting Quick Time nothing happens. I have tried opening Quick Time information, and after a short time I get the error message "Error when opening Shell32.dll, control_RunDLL C:\Programs\Quick Time\QTSystem\QuickTime.cpl"
I have tried uninstalling Quick Time but always got an error, until I removed all files on C:\Programs\Quick Time and the Quick Time files on the System32 folder, like it was suggested on this Forum.
I then re-installed Quick Time, but I am still getting the same error, and Quick Time wont run.
Are there any other files I should have deleted before reinstalling Quick Time?
    Kind regards
    Willi Sletten

When trying to uninstall from Start/Quick Time/Uninstall Quick Time the uninstall would start propperly but then end up in a dialogue box saying that a serious problem had stopped the uninstall.
When uninstalling from the control panel, I dont think there was an error message, but Quick Time simply wouldnt disappear.

I have InDesign CS4 and Design Suite CS3. All my other CS3 apps run under Lion. The Upgrade to Lion failed leaving my internal unbootable, so I installed and migrated to an external drive. But after the upgrade to Lion all of the other CS 3 aps run, IDCS4 will not run. I get the following message:
Adobe InDesign is missing required system fonts or CMap files. Please reinstall InDesign.
I used the uninstaller and reinstalled. No affect. I made the Library folder visible. No effect. I cant

There is a very long list of incompatibilities with Lion:

FWIW, I highly recommend sticking with Snow Leopard for now and when you do upgrade, do so as a clean install.

I want to specify polling of a directory using Unix type directory notation but this doesn't compile under windows. (I'll read up re. logical directories)
Has anyone done polling of a unix directory using BPEL (but compiled this under windows JDeveloper)?

    What is "it"?
There are many things that affect the future development of LabVIEW, starting with NI management, all the smart people in LabVIEW development, the economy, the LabVIEW users, etc.
If you are worried about the increasing size of the distribution, the good news is that the cost of data storage and data transmission has dropped much more dramatically. Even though newer versions are bigger due to great and welcome new features, the improvements in infrastructure have actually made the distribution and storage significantly easier over the years and will continue to do so. Trust me!

  • Hyper-V - 'Failed to start the virtual machine 'test' because one of the Hyper-V components is not running.'

    Hi all,
    Having a bit of a nightmare with Hyper-V on my Windows 8 Pro laptop - Whenever I create a new VM and try to start it I receive the following error;
'Failed to start the virtual machine 'test' because one of the Hyper-V components is not running.'
I sometimes also receive an error saying something along the lines of 'Unable to change virtual machine state'
I have done a lot of searching a seen two common answers - The first is to try removing the Hyper-V role and re-adding it - I have tried this several times to no avail. (Intel VT and all virtualisation capabilities are enabled in BIOS). The second issue
    it would seem
some people have had relates to editing the VMX configuration file and adding the line
hypervisor.cpuid.v0 = "FALSE" - I thought VMX files were only present in VMware Virtual Machines...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance.
    James

The hypervisor event log message is generated only at boot - so this would be expected.  Also vmbus should not be running on the host (I was looking at a VM yesterday)...  This error message is generated only when the vid is determined not to be
running or cannot communicate with the hypervisor.
I have seen this due to anti-virus software in the past or due to driver verifier being configured.  Since it looks like you checked driver verifier already do you have anti-virus software installed?  If so have you followed the best practices
    and exempted the Hyper-v services?
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd283088(WS.10).aspx
To resolve this problem, configure the real-time scanning component within your antivirus software to exclude the following directories and files:
Default virtual machine configuration directory (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Hyper-V)
    Custom virtual machine configuration directories
Default virtual hard disk drive directory (C:\Users\Public\Documents\Hyper-V\Virtual Hard Disks)
Custom virtual hard disk drive directories
Custom replication data directories, if you are using Hyper-V Replica
    Snapshot directories
Vmms.exe (Note: This file may have to be configured as a process exclusion within the antivirus software.)
Vmwp.exe (Note: This file may have to be configured as a process exclusion within the antivirus software.)

Because of a problem, I uninstalled Firefox once, reinstalled it and it ran. I had a problem so I uninstalled/reinstalled it again. Now it will not run. I get an error message saying that firefox is running and you can only run one at a time. I have uninstalled multiple times and can't figure out what is running. The is only one Firefox installed and it is not open. What does this mean and how do I fix it?

  • Powerbook G4 Will not run off power adapter

    Hi,
My powerbook G4 starts up and runs fine from the battery but will not run when the battery runs down even though the power adapter is plugged in.
The ASP shows that the adapter is plugged in but not charging.
I have tried three different power adapters, has anyone got any ideas?

Did yu notice this behaviour immediate after a software update? it appears you aren't the only one with charging issues. I don't know of any solution so you may want to search through these forums to see if anyone did find a fix for this problem.

  • Why does LabVIEW Application Builder 8.0.1 create an executable that will not run?

My VI runs perfectly.  But when I generate the executable, it will not run.  I get a "File Not Found" error.  The file it can't find is "File Open+.VI" from vi.lib.  I've tried copying File Open+.vi into my project.  If still generates the same error.
    Attachments:
    OTS.zip ‏3105 KB

There error is coming out of FlowCal Server.  You use the current VI path to build up the file paths.  That works great in development but when you compile a VI into an exe, an extra layer is added.  See this KB http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/FD7DE8BC8FFC256C862565F4006BE363?OpenDocument
So when its an exe you need to strip the path one more time.

  • Java will not run in IE9

I find this problem posted all over the internet -- however, I have found few answers and no solutions that work.
Java will not run in IE9
In the last three days I have installed Java 7.5 at least five times (after total uninstalls).
I have Windows 7 Home premium with all updates installed.  Anti-virus programs are installed.
Even the java website   http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp cannot detect the Java program in IE9.  It displays the following message:  “No working Java was detected
on your system.  Install Java by clicking the button below.”
I know you don’t want to hear about other browsers, however, this is part of the diagnoses – Java works fine in Chrome.  (Obviously, there are some programs that can only be accessed in IE.)
I have tried turning off the firewall, anti-virus AVG, active x filtering, and every other program.  I have cleared the browsing history, cookies, etc.  50 times = nothing works.
I experienced that Java did work once and only once in IE9 after each of two new reinstallations of Java 7.5.
Process Explorer shows that Java is running, I’ve included a screen- shot (hope it shows up)
    All knowledgeable answers are appreciated.

    Hi,
Have you tried the compatibility mode in Internet Explorer 9? Or does this issue occur to previous Internet Explorer versions?
    For reference about compatibility mode:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2010/10/19/testing-sites-with-browser-mode-vs-doc-mode.aspx
How to use Compatibility View in Internet Explorer 9
You could try to deselect the “Automatically Detect Settings” to check how it works.
And enable the scripting of Java applets settings:
    1. Click "Tools" --> "Internet Options"
    2. Next, select the Security Tab, and select the "Custom Level" button
    3. Scroll down to "Scripting of Java applets"
    4. Make sure the "Enable" radio button is checked.
    5. Click OK to save your preference.
Or you could try to change the settings in group editor:
    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel\Security Page\Internet Zone\Java Permissions
    Meanwhile, I suggest you could
reset Internet Explorer settings to see the results.
    Hope this helps.

  • Applets will not run on Win2k

Hello all, thanks for reading. I have searched the Internet, this forum, and I am at the end of my wits.
I have workstations that must run Java applets for specific sales training.
Several workstations will not run applets at all, and only get the red "x" error described here:
    http://java.com/en/download/help/redximage.jsp
I have followed the troubleshooting steps to the letter, and still no applets will run.
    Here are the details:
    Win2k SP4 with IE6.0SP1
JRE 1.4.2_04 (Manual install - Auto install will not work)
I reinstalled both IE and JRE. I have made certain that only one version of JRE exists. I have checked IE security settings to allow scripts to run, and I have cleared the IE cache. I have checked Java Control Panel settings, to include the Browser tab and the Proxies tab.
I feel like I have run out of options. Can anyone steer me in a new direction? The time crunch is bearing down on me, and a rather large sales force needs these applets to work.
    Thanks,
    Terry

    Hi,
If the telnet command still works and the connection to our database doesn't then there is still a problem with Java on your machine as I think the firewall would have blocked the port, I will check though.
We have seen a couple of problems caused by recent patches, I don't know if they are related yet but on some the MS JVM disappeared (as yours did) and on some the database link died.
In the database link case, the applet appears to be looking at the local machine instead of the host. I'm not sure what other sites this might affect but it may be a problem if you need to access other site.
As we are an e-commerce company, it's difficult to get to client machines that have these problems so testing opportunities are very limited.
On the only machine I've managed to get to, the problem was solved by changing the version of the Sun JVM. Both earlier and later versions worked (I tried all of the ones from this site) so I'm not sure what the problem was.
I have been talking to Sun and Microsoft about this and I am trying to set-up and break a machine here.
Do you have a list of the recently installed patches for the broken machines? It would be very useful.
If so, could you e-mail them to me at [email protected]
RE: the PS, I was just checking out the e-mail address, can't be too careful ;-)
    Regards,
    Alastair.

  • System Will not run at FSB166

Ok, well after playing with several configurations i am still no further forward on my little CPU FSB Saga.
So this is what i have found out so far and maybe someone can shed some light.
I have a Barton 2800+ CPU, if i run this CPU at its correct FSB of 166 my system is very unstable. 3dMark03 Will lock during the CPU test and if i use Prime95 my PC will lock within 30 Seconds. Grrrrrrr, ( Lots of profanity )
So i clocked my CPU to 133FSB, now its just an XP2200, well thats what it says anyway.
However no more lock ups. 3dMark03 runs through without a problem, Prime95 runs for hours without an error.
So i decided to try something else, in my other PC i have an XP2000+ FSB133 CPU running on an MSI KT3 Ultra Board. This PC works like a dream.
I took the CPU out of there and put it in to my K7N2 Delta Board and setup the FSB as 133 ( Correct for the CPU )
And what happened, well it started to lock up again.
So i clocked the FSB down to 100 and now this CPU works fine in the delta board with no Lock ups.
So has anyone got any idea why my cpu's will not run at there correct FSB on this board.
My 2800+ will run at 133FSB and not 166FSB
My 2000+ will run at 100FSB and not 133FSB
I know that the CPU must be ok because upon returning the XP2000+ back to the KT3 Ultra Board i have it works fine without a problem with 3dmark03 and Prime95.
Its only when it is in my K7N2 Delta board running at the correct FSB.
Your thoughts on this are much appreciated.

I am now running my Barton 2800+ at the correct FSB of 166 and now the correct speed. Prime95 and 3d Mark03 run without a problem.
On my old board Prime95 would lock my system in less than 30 seconds, its been running for 6 hours now without error. The CPU test in 3dmark 03 would lock everytime and now i\'ve run it thirty times and it goes through everytime.
So yes i guess my motherboard was just screwed.
However i have noticed some difference between my first K7N2 board and my new one. These may mean nothing, thoughts on these would be good.
Old Board came with Bios 7.0 on it.
    New board has Bios 7.2
Old board Manual was red colour and Raid Manual was Blue
New Board Manual was orange colour and Raid was Green
Old Board had no sticker on South Bridge
New Board had a FSB400 Green Sticker on South Bridge.
Plus i have noticed that the voltages and temperatures on my new board are much more stable than before. Less jumping up and down.
Everything else i think was the same.
I know they are minor and may mean nothing, it was the sticker that i found interesting. Why did my first board not have that. Why suddenly put it on ?
Anyway, one new board later and my barton 2800+ is now running stable, so i\'m happy and i guess this proves the boards can work with them.
A special thanks to wonkanoby, your help in this issue was most appreciated. You certainly did make me think about a few things. I have of course mad sure i have re-fitted my heatsink right =) even put some nice as3 on it.
Anyway, i\'m not sure what to suggest to you guys still having problems. Does your south bridge have a sticker on it? Maybe they have a new version of the board out, i don\'t know. Comments People? does anyone know anything.
Well this draws my story to a close.
Good luck to everyone else, hope you get your systems running.

Congratulations... I'm glad that it worked out for you.
But what you are telling me seems that MSI put a new release of the board on the market with a lot of bugfixes in it  :( .
But this means that i have to get 2 boards back to the shop and claim 2 new boards. But the problem is that i have to drive about 3 hours and have to pay because i have the boards for a month now. This is in my eyes unacceptable. I'm going to write MSI and ask them if the have another idea to help me out. But i'm glad that we know what the problem is and i give you a lot of pleasure with the machine.  )  )  )  )

  • I tunes still will not run on XP

I have tried all the tricks listed and still I-tunes will not run on relatively new windows XP, Dell machine (also newly purchased I-pod), - I have disabled virus protection, I have loaded most recent versions of i-tunes, I have cleared temp files and reloaded. I tried loading Q-time player as a stand alone. I deleted old folders of I-tunes and Q-time and reloaded. I-tunes down-loads without any error message, I-pod connects to USB and charges - and shows up as an "E" drive. But clicking on i-tunes icon, or loading audio disk or connecting I-pod all fail to visably launch i-tunes (nothing is seen in task manager after attempting to launch I-tunes - but on shut down of the computer I get the message that I-tunes is not responding and must be shut down manually). Already 10 hours spent on this
