The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works. Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up. Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp. Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp. Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.

Hi guys,
I have a data block named BLOCK1, in BLOCK1 there is a text item named ITEM1.
I display it in tabular form, showing 10 records.
I wanted the record where the cursor's located shown in different color.
For example if the cursor at record #1, record #1 therefore is shown in RED. If the cursor is moved to record #2 then record #2 will be shown in RED and record #1 color will revert back to normal.
I tried putting WHEN-NEW-RECORD-INSTANCE trigger at BLOCK1 with the following code:
set_item_property('BLOCK1.ITEM1', VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE, 'WHITE');
set_item_instance_property('BLOCK1.ITEM1', current_record, VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE , 'RED');
I thought set_item_property('BLOCK1.ITEM1', VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE, 'WHITE') will set all records of ITEM1 to 'WHITE', then the set_item_instance_property('BLOCK1.ITEM1', current_record, VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE , 'RED') will set the particular record where the cursor is in to 'RED'...
It doesn't work. All the records that has been set to 'RED' by set_item_instance_property will stay red, set_item_property does not revert them to white.
Any ideas?

In the property palette of your block there is "current record visual attribute".
Assign a valid visual_attribute and then when you move from one record to another it will be applied to the current record.

Problem with setting custom attribute and it being searchable

I'm having an issue with setting a custom attribute and having it be searchable using Portal 10.1.4. The situation that we have is that we initially added a bunch of files to Oracle Portal using webdrive. Later on, we decided that we needed another custom attribute called "Pinned Item" that will be used for searching (boolean value) and gave it a default value of false. The attribute was then added to the "File" item type in the "Shared Objects" group.
It appears that since this attribute wasn't initially available on the file object, we couldn't search on it so we decided to set it programatically. First, I tried using wwsbr.set_attribute but it errored out seemingly because the value wasn't set in the first place. If I set a value first by using the web front end, I could then use the set_attribute procedure.
So, I moved on to using wwsbr_api.modify_item and it appears to set it (although everything is being set to false until I changed it to "text" instead of "boolean" which is OK because that's what I wanted anyway... see metalink bug 390618.1). I'm using the method outlined in metalink doc 413079.1. When I do set it to a "1", and edit the item the check box is checked indicating that it is set correctly. And if I just click "OK" to save the attributes after I open it everything works like it should.
However, the advanced search (and custom search portlet) and the search APIs are not picking it up. I'm not sure if I'm hitting Metalink bug ID 5592472 or not as that's using the "set_attribute" procedure instead of the modify_item procedure. And their "workaround" of setting the attribute in the UI isn't really feasible for a couple thousand files.
So far I've tried the following things to get it working:
1. I am calling wwpro_api_invalidation.execute_cache_invalidation
2. I have executed wwv_context.sync
3. I cleared the page group cache
4. I invalidated all of the web cache
Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

How to set default color and font?

Where do I set a default font and color for my outgoing mail? I looked in the preferences but when you change it there, it changes it for all emails, incoming and out going. Isn't there a way to have different fonts for the outgoing than for the incoming??

I'm glad that other people have had this problem too. I've spent hours on the web trying to find how to select the default composing font colour. I find it incredible that with all the options available in Mail and other mail applications that Apple haven't included this most basic of requirements. It would be lovely if someone from Apple would let us know why this has been left out and if they are going to put it in VERY soon, perhaps as a software update? Mac's still rule though :o)

Batch create multiple pdf's while using epilogue.ps for setting initial view and opening bookmarks

I'm trying to batch create multiple pdf's from word files, and use the epilogue.ps file for setting the initial view and opening the bookmarks panel, but i keep getting no satisfying result.. i'm probably missing something fundamental.
I've read some forum posts and adobe help posts explaining this, so i'm pretty sure this would be possible?

i've searched for and found a way to overwite the epilogue.ps file and have inserted the following:

After that i checked my Adobe Acrobat preferences, and in the categorie 'Convert to Pdf' i selected 'Microsoft office word' in the select area 'Converting to pdf'.
Clicked 'Edit settings' to allow creating a joboptions file (field: 'adobe pdf settings') which has the option 'Use epiloque.ps and prologue.ps' checked in the advanced section.
So now i thought i would have everyting setup to create my pdf's, however, my view isn't changed to fit, nor are there any bookmarks or in this case thumbs (i used /useThumbs) visible.
Did i miss something obvious? Is there a better way to test this? Any help would be appreciated!

Properties vs. Styles for Setting Visual Appearance of Controls?

I'm a bit confused by what seems to be a schizophrenic approach to properties and styles within the Flex 4 SDK. In some cases, components have properties that affect their visual appearance while in other cases they use styles. For example, here is a BorderContainer from an example in Adobe's Using Flex 4 docs:

borderColor, borderAlpha, cornerRadius and borderWeight are all styles. However, BorderContainer also has some properties for visual formatting; e.g.,: backgroundFill and borderStroke. The latter property equates to two of the styles: borderColor and borderWeight. But the former, backgroundFill, doesn't appear to have a corresponding style although there is a backgroundImage style.
So, I'm wondering why the SDK has this split personality. But more to the point, I'm wondering if there's some logical explanation. How do I know when to use a style rather than a property? Where should developers look first when seeking to modify the visual appearance of a control?

I am particular interested in column widths and the internal padding/margin of a cell. This is for a report which contains a table inside another table (using a tree, but with the sub-table in a column, rather than the detail facet).
By default, each sub-table is formatted with different column widths, which makes them hard to compare. If I can specify that explicitly, they all line up nicely. (Something weird also happens when a sub-table contains no data, since I'm not sure the cell with the message 'No rows yet' follows the same rules.)
(Specifying the internal margin is useful for removing the border between the sub-table and its surroundings)

Batch process for setting document (language) and page (structure) properties

I'm looking for a batch process or script that will take a folder of PDFs and add some basic properties required by Section 508 (for accessibility) automagically--such as Document Properties where language=EnglishUS, and Page Properties Tab Order=Use Document Structure.
I'm not a programmer so any help is very much appreciated.

well on unix/Linux/solaris there are no drives but storage heirarchy starts with a root directory represented with ' / '. and all files and directories are created in root directoy like
/usr/local/bin
/export/home/san
etc
also filesystem of unix consists iNodes rathar than FAT entries as in case of Windows.

i need some information about HttpSession, and J2EE's deploytool. First, i know how to use deploytool from the J2EE tutorial and it a good one but my assignment requireds more than that. I would like to know how to allow only authorized user to use an jsp(very impt jsp, that means).
Secondly, my servlet had set some attributes on a HttpSession so to forward to a jsp so I requires some session tracking. But when the user click on the 'Back' button on the I.E. The information remains there. I tried to set attribute on a HttpRequest but my jsp fails to get the information. This problem really pull me back. :-(

CC is stuck with spinning 'wait' icon - Home, Files and Fonts App tab is ok

Ever since I installed cc I have not had anything but a spinning 'wait' wheel for 'home', 'files' or 'fonts' tabs. The 'Apps' tab is fine and can install and update the applications just fine. I was reading the forum this morning looking for a reason for this. I decided to try and move my 'Files' location under the setting area and chose another directory to see if it would get the 'files' tab working. (I don't have any files in the original so I am not worried about losing any files) Now the CC app is stuck in 'Moving Creative Cloud Files Folder...' mode and I don't have any access to the other tabs at all. I am using Windows 7. I have included a image of what I am seeing. I have tried closing down the app and restarting it but it keeps coming up with the below screen each time. Please help.

Ok, I have fixed the above screen shot dilema and have my CC application working again. Had to kill the process and restart the application. But, I still get the circle icon for the HOME, FILES, and FONTS tabs. BEHANCE tabs seems to be working ok. Here is a shot of that one: Again, the Apps and Behance tabs work fine. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? I have gone into Preferences/General/Account and signed out and signed back in but it did not change anything.

Set PF-STATUS and use SY-UCOMM in an Exit FM

I am working on an Exit function, and I am trying to read the screen status and then the user's actions, so that I could code for the SY-UCOMM. For some reason, my program is not working. Is it possible to add the PF-STATUS and SY-UCOMM to the Exit function to process the user's actions? Please advise.

I was able to use the parameters in the Exit provided in the Exit FM to process the necessary data. I have other requirements where I would have to code in the Exit FM to detect the user's actions and process them within the Exit to manipulate the tables. I added some code specified in the previous post, but it doesn't seem to get the OK_CODE; therefore, no processing of the data was happening when I tested by clicking on the yellow arrow to exit. I am able to determine the OK_CODE though.
Would you have any sample code suggestions when using the Exit for SET PF-STATUS and SY-UCOMM?

Just replace "sessionScope" with "requestScope". That will set the attribute request scope.

Guidelines for setting Application Module Pool Size Parameters?

Are there guidelines for setting the application module pool size parameters, such as initial pool size, maximum pool size, etc., based on the expected number of users or other factors? I've read the developer guide sections (ch 28-29), but still don't have a good feel for how to correctly set the optimal values for the pool configuration parameters? Even more importanty, how do I monitor the pool's efficiency during runtime to determine if the pooling parameters are configured correctly?
This will be critical to performance and scalability, so I'm looking for a way to get some visibility into how the pooling is working during production operation to assess whether there are bottlenecks/constraints/ineffeciencies?
Note I am using Tomcat as the java runtime container; ADF BC / JSF jdev 10.1.3.1

Component attributes and render specific attributes

What should be considered as component's attributes while what should be considered as renderer specific attributes.
Is it correct to think that behavioural properties of a components have been abstracted out as components properties?
Is there any example or a link which points to this?

Yes, that's basically it. Note also that a custom subclass of a component can define JavaBean accessors for renderer-specific attributes, and that the Renderer can still safely use the getAttributes() Map to retrieve the attributes, because bean properties are automatically available as well in this Map.
