Testing remote sites

Is this possible yet? If so, how do I go about doing this? I would like to test to see how a live site performs across many devices.

Hi,
Currently this isn't possible with Device Cental, which is designed to support development locally.  But thank you for the suggestion and we will certainly consider it.

Mark

  • Remote and Testing Server Site Definitions

I am confused about what information I should put in my
remote site definition info and testing server FTC Host directory
text boxes. My host placed 3 directories: database, log, and www on
my server and Dreamweaver placed two directories, Connections and
_mmServerScripts in the same directory as the above 3. I have
placed all of my site files, including my home page and folders in
the www directory and my Access database in the database directory.
Dreamweaver placed the connection info in the Connections folder an
d _mmServerScripts in the same directory.
In order to construct my local site to match the remote site,
I created a www folder on my local site and placed all of my HTML
files and supporting folders in it.
From various Adobe Tech Notes I have read, I was led to
    believe my FTP host directory
Should be www/. However, when I do this and create a new web
page on my local site and upload it to my remote site, Dreamweaver
creates a new www directory inside of the one my host created on
the remote site and uploads the file to it instead of placing it in
the www directory my host created. Also, when I use F12 to test my
page in my browser I get a 404 page not found because Dreamweaver
placed a www in the page URL that shouldn’t be there and
after I remove it I’m able to see my page in my browser. My
URL prefix on my testing server site definition is:
    http://I.P.number.html.
What am I not doing right?
Should I use www/ as my FTP host directory or leave it blank?
Also, what should my URL prefix be?
    Thanks for your help.

What you need to do is set up so that in the remote server
    you point to the
www level on the server, and don't replicate this locally.

  • File does not exist on remote site, yet it does

I have been trying to understand how Dreamweaver handles remote files in CS5.
My server is setup as a remote server and a test server.
I open the remote file, it offers to get dependencies, so I click yes.
I click on Live view, then it tries to show me the following url
    http://my_site.com/public_html/path/to/my/file/file.php
It should not put public_html in the path, and I did not specify this in my site setup. My root setting is /.
Anyway, If I change the url manually, then it shows correctly. Then it offers to discover dunamically linked files, which I agree to.
Now it tells me that 'Dynamically-related files could not be resolved because the site definition is not correct for this server'
If I try to open one of the files that it has discovered, I am told that it is not on the disk, so would I like to 'get it', so I agree.
Finally, I am told that 'Get operation failed since linked-file.php does not exist on remote site'
I suspect that this is all to do with my site definition, but I fiddled with the settings and can't resolve this. I think that the whole problem goes back to Dreamweaver's insistance on putting public_html in the path, but I can't stop it doing so.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    ian

    Hi,
Well, yes I did manage to fix the dynamically linked resources issue. As mentioned above, I did need to mention public_html in my Root Directory setting in server setup (silly of me).
I had tried this at first, but it didn't work, as I had the server set as a test server and not a remote server, anyway, i now have it set as both and all is well.
Except that, the first issue that mentioned is still with me: namely, dreamweaver mentions the public_html in the url path when on live view, which is not correct and I don't know where it is inferring this from. I can change it manually, but this doesn't seem right to me. Am I still missing a setting?
    In anwer to the questions:
    1) My setting (now) in the Root Directory setting in DW is: /public_html/
    2) My actual path on the server (that i mention in php scripts) is: /home/login_name/public_html//path/to/my/file/file.php
[In the advanced settings of DW site setup on the Local Info page I have set Links relative to Document option, although it does not seem to make a difference when I change it to Site Root.]
    Any suggestions appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ian

  • The WSDL data cannot be retrieve from remote site

I am a new guy learning web services with NetBeans 5.5 and meet some problem in retrieving wsdl data from remote site.
I create a web service "WSTestServer" at Sun Application Server PE8.2 with real IP, say 111.110.11.10:8888, and there's a class "TestWS" with a method "getWS" to return a String. The server (or machine) name is ultra20. So, by following steps in NetBeans, I can get a wsdl file after generating the web service and it can be viewed at
    http://111.110.11.10:8888/WSTestServer/TestWS?WSDL
Then, I create a web service client at the same machine, it is available to test this method by clicking Web Service Reference item in NetBeans and select "getWS" method to get that String.
However, when I create a web service client at remote site, it doesn't work and show exception message like
    cannot find domain http://ultra20:8888/WSTestServer/TestWS....
I go back to check wsdl file, at the last line, it prints like
    <soap:address location="http://ultra20:8888/WSTestServer/TestWS".....
If I test this case in LAN, e.g., the server IP becomes 192.168.1.2 and client IP is 192.168.1.3, then it works since machine name can be recognized within the same local area network. I try to revise the wsdl file above to replace machine name as real IP, but it is automatically changed back with machine name while deploying and copy the revised one as xxx.wsdl__orig.
Should I do additional configuration setup for server site? Such as, registering a domain name like aaa.bbb.edu instead of 111.110.11.10?
Any comment and help for this subject is appreciated!!
    Thank you so much!

    Works as designed,from documentation:
The database also retrieves all triggers and constraints defined on the table except for referential integrity constraints that reference other tables.
The retrieved indexes, triggers, and constraints have recycle bin names. Therefore it is advisable to query the USER_RECYCLEBIN view before issuing a FLASHBACK TABLE ... TO BEFORE DROP statement so that you can rename the retrieved triggers and constraints to more usable names.
For details see the FLASHBACK TABLE command description for your unknown database version.

  • VPN Clients cannot access remote site

    Hey there,
I am pretty new in configuring Cisco devices and now I need some help.
    I have 2 site here:
    site A
    Cisco 891
    external IP: 195.xxx.yyy.zzz
    VPN Gateway for Remote users
    local IP: VLAN10 10.133.10.0 /23
    site B
    Cisco 891
    external IP: 62.xxx.yyy.zzz
    local IP VLAN10 10.133.34.0 /23
Those two sites are linked together with a Site-to-Site VPN. Accessing files or ressources from one site to the other is working fine while connected to the local LAN.
I configured VPN connection with Radius auth. VPN clients can connect to Site A, get an IP adress from VPN Pool (172.16.100.2-100) and can access files and servers on site A. But for some reason they cannot access ressources on site B. I already added the site B network to the ACL and when connecting with VPN it shows secured routes to 10.133.10.0 and 10.133.34.0 in the statistics. Same thing for other VPN Tunnels to ERP system.
What is missing here to make it possible to reach remote sites when connected through VPN? I had a look at the logs but could not find anything important.
Here is the config of site A

The crypto ACL for the site to site vpn should also include the vpn client pool, otherwise, traffic from the vpn client does not match the interesting traffic for the site to site vpn.
    On Site A:
    should include "access-list 107 permit ip 172.16.100.0 0.0.0.255 10.133.34.0 0.0.1.255"
You should also remove the following line as the pool is incorrect:
    access-list 107 permit ip 192.168.10.0 0.0.1.255 10.133.34.0 0.0.1.255
    On Site B:
    should include: permit ip 10.133.34.0 0.0.1.255 172.16.100.0 0.0.0.255"
NAT exemption on site B should also be configured with deny on the above ACL.

  • How to access a remote site in dreamweaver

This might seem like a simple question, but i just downloaded DW as a trial, and want to try it out before buying. Now I've done the remote site set up and tested and it says it can connect to my remote site. But I want to now go to the site, log in, and make some changes to the web site pages which are stored there. None of the stuff is stored on my home PC. It's all at the remote site. So how do I edit it? How do I even log in? DW seems intended to work on files on your home PC, and then publish them to a remote site. My problem is it's all ON the remote site.

    Hi Nancy,
No, I'm not getting those selections under the file menu. What I've done is go to server, manage servers, and set up a remote server. When I test it it says "dreamweaver connected to your web server succesfully". So I assume that the remote server, at least, is set up properly. I didn't set up a "local site" however. Perhaps that could be it? But those choices are not on the drop-down box, even grayed out. If I click on "open" the box goes to my PC for choices. On the left side it has" My recent documents, desktop, my documents, my network (which doesn't lead anywhere)

  • Best option to transmit CSV file as POST data to remote site

I'm quite new to the SAP scene and am tasked with getting some data out of our database and up to a third party web application.
Their API requests the data be formatted as a CSV file and uploaded as an HTTP POST attachment (file upload) to their site.
What's my best approach to this?
We have PI, but I just learned about CL_HTTP_CLIENT and am hoping I can do this move directly from the ABAP environment but am unsure of the sorts of technicalities involved with either of these options.
Can I setup a "service" in PI that simply posts data to a URL (as opposed to sending a SOAP request)?
What sort of setup do I need to do to get CL_HTTP_CLIENT to talk to the remote site? I've tested with HTTP_POST and get an SSL error even when posting to a non-ssl url (http).

  • Login wizard - CF9 server - "Coldfusion not is not running on the remote site" - YES it is!

I use Dreamweaver to upkeep sites for several friends and clients. When I use the login wizzard on a server with CF8, it works fine. If I use it on a server with CF9, I can't get past the *Coldfusion not is not running on the remote site* error. Yes it is running.  I've tried connecting using FTP, RDS, directly over the network - you name it.  Same error.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Rick

    Hi Rick
If you are trying to RDS log in to a remote server the host may have disabled this service... Most do, and should. Allowing remote RDS is a potential security risk.  Check with your host to see if this is the case.  If it is, it is always better to duplicate your host environment locally, that is be running CF9, and the database, be that MySQL, SQL Server, Access, or whatever locally and do all you development and testing there, then just upload the files when ready.
    Hope this helps.

  • Losing connection to the Domain Controllers at a remote site

We have a remote site with a IPsec tunnel for a site to site connection and there are about a dozen window 7 systems on site.  Every 3 to 5 weeks, the systems start to lose the ability to log into the domain.  Running some tests, the DNS names
keep resolving, their subnet is setup in Sites and Services to the group with the DC's and they are setup correctly for IP settings but seems like they still can't connect back to the DC's.  From there, under network profiles, it says the domain network
    is unauthenticated.
The only way we have found to fix this is to dis-join the computer from the domain and rejoin it.
Is there a way from the computer to force it to re-authenticate without having to do this or a better fix?

    Hello Technsopyder,
Do you means all the Windows 7 use the IPsec will lose connection to the Domain Controllers every 3 to 5 weeks?
Do you receive the error code 5719 and 3210? Could you please provide the whole error message?
Please check if you need to change the password before this issue as Brano Lukic mentioned.

  • How can I change remote site definition without breaking all of the links?

I've created a website and put it here http://home.comcast.net/~alpsf/index.html to test it during construction.  Now when I change the remote site definition on the local site in DW, all of the links are broken.  I now suspect the problem is that I made it site root-relative, and DW inserted /~alpsf/ in all of the links.  Is there a way to fix this?
    Thanks very much.

You can do a find and replace to change the links globally. Make sure you do a complete backup of the site prior to doing this incase you don't do it correctly. Let me stress that again, backup your entire site incase you need to restore. If you have created a "new site" and this will not be part of the /~alpsf site, then you will need to define a new site and copy all the files into that folder (I am guessing this is the case). I would copy the files outside of Dreamweaver. You could do this without touching the files in the ~alpsf directory. There are a lot of variable here as I don't know exactly what you are doing.
On the file menu select window/results-select search. (this is done if the search window is not open).
Find in: Entire Current Local Site
    Search: Source Code
    Find: "/~alpsf/
    Replace:"/
That should do it, but this is a very tricky thing. I wouldn't have a problem doing this as long as I have everything backed up.

Edited:You might have to go into your css, spry files and any others that has links to do the same (this time only select Find in: Current document once the document is open). Once that is done, delete the whole remote site and upload the changes once you check that everything is completed.

  • Connectivity setup issue within DW using both Testing & Remote Servers

    Hi
I have a problem with being able to connect to both my remote server and my testing server when both connections are setup at the same time.
Basically I set up the 2 x connections in DW MySQL DB Connect:
    1 x dreamsin_localhost
    1 x Banbury01_localhost
The dreamsin_localhost has always been the connection which goes to the remote server for nearly a year now. In my Site Manager set up it goes to www.dreamsingaporeproperty.com/public_html.
The Banbury01_localhost I just set up to go to the new testing server on my pc. Currently it has a different username and password to the remote server. Both go to localhost.
I successfully set up the testing server and added the server into the Site Manager. When I clicked 'Live View' or F12 the pages showed in my http://localhost URL.
However when I then tried to connect to the dreamsin_localhost connection it then failed with the above error:
    MySQL Error#: 1045
Access denied for user 'dreamsin'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
If I take out the local server setup from the Site Manager and remove /public_html/ from the web URL the connection to the remote site then works, but the connection to the Banbury01_localhost then gets the above error message. If I keep the set up as I always had it with the URL www.dreamsingaporeproperty.com/public_html/ - then another error message about _mmServerScripts.
I'm clearly missing a piece in the whole set up but no idea what.
It seems I can't have both servers working so far.
I have a few ideas of what to do/try and will, but it is more like 'trial & error' approach rather than a proper understanding so would really appreciate some clarity on where I'm going wrong.
I think it might be because both hosts are called 'localhost' ?
I think it might be because I need to set up a user in the testing server mysql table with the same username and pw as for my remote server?
    Any help would be great.

  • How can I make my JQuery Slider show on remote site?

    Hello,
    My Slider saga continues...
I "successfully" created a JQuery Slider using jCarouselLite and <a> tag thumbs, it shows up on my test(local)site but not on remote.
Unitl I refresh the browser or click on verticle nav links on the left, which doesn't result in a great user experience.
Here are my links to the page, the style and the js:

    http://www.aliciaalmeidagraphicdesigner.com/style/Body.css
    http://www.aliciaalmeidagraphicdesigner.com/js/functions.js
Anything in my code you see would be problomatic and preventing the slider from showing?
PS: As a side note, I'm also having issues with positioning the actual slider, but one thing at a time...
Thank you for any incoming responses and advice!
    ~LA

You have some errors in both your html and css. Clearing those out wouldn't hurt...

If it's still not working after those are cleaned up, post back and we can take a closer look.

  • Remote Site FTP log-in & password won't stick.

Working on Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 and DW 8 (Installed from CS2 disk).
McAfee Anti-virus (not my 1st choice but PC came with it)
Site Definition Settings > Advanced > Remote Info >

    Save enabled. Test verified.
    Uploads work as expected.
    Close DW.
Re-open DW, remote site log-in and password fields are empty.
Tried running as Administrator but makes no diff.

I thought my CS2 disk contained the update but maybe not.
So after running the update from the link you provided, I get 3 out of 4 Site definitions to stick.
    Some progress made
    Thanks, John.

  • Problem in connecting to remote site

I have set up an FTP user in the remote server which works
perfectly fine when I click test connection. Now when I click the
remote view or upload a file or connect to remote server I get this
message -"Waiting for server" then I get this error message
"Connection to the remote host is lost.Click the Connect button to
reconnect". I have disabled my firewall too. This has been driving
me crazy for a long time. Any source of help would be of great
    help.
    Thanx in advance.

What do you have in the Host directory field of your Remote
    site's
definition? It sounds like you don't have the right
    information here....
