Testing Templates in IE

Perhaps someone can guide me in the right direction. I have
Dreamweaver 8 installed on my home and work computer. Since using
it to design a site I now find that my templates are not able to be
tested in IE when I am working on them within Dreamweaver. They
will, however open in Mozilla Firefox. I reinstalled Dreamweaver on
my home system and this seems to have fixed the problem, however,
when doing the same at work and also installing the 8.0.2 update I
still get the same problem...the template won't open in IE for
testing but will open in Mozilla. Further frustrating is that I
have since re-loaded the original files to the state before the
problem began and still have this problem. Worse yet is that even
if I create a new template which is in a non related site...I still
get this probem.....PLEASE HELP....I have tried everything I can
think of except throwing the computer out the window (which is
looking like a pretty good option-but it is a new
computer).....Thanks

I have no idea what could be doing this for you, unless
there's something in
the preferences that you may have clicked inadvertantly. Do
you have IE set
up in the browser list preferences.... maybe it's been 'lost
somehow'..
If it's not that, maybe post the code of your dwt and maybe
someone can test
it for you in their copy of DW to see if there is actually a
problem with
the file.... though I can't understand how there could be if
you can view
the page in FFox.

Its just the same you do it in 5.0.
Create a template ,in that create one line type (R1).
after that right click on template ->create text.
for this text give the name and under the Output Options TAB at the bottom you will c Output structure where you also will c Line and column ,just fill in the linetype( R1) nd the column no (eg 1 if it is the first cell ).

Missing Load Test and Coded UI Templates

Missing Load Test and Coded UI Templates even though i have installed Premium Version of Visual studio 2010.
How can we install these?

Based on your issue, as far as I know that the Premium Version of Visual studio 2010 is only support the Unit test and coded UI test template.
And I know that the load test template is only supported with the Ultimate version of Visual Studio 2010.

So if you want to get the load test project template, you will need to install the VS2010 Ultimate.
However, as you said that the coded UI test template missing in the VS2010 Premium, I suggest you could try to
delete your ItemTemplatesCache, ProjectTemplatesCache folder and then run the the devenv /InstallVSTemplates switch and
devenv /Setup switch. Please refer to the following steps:
Step1: Please open Windows Explorer, and navigate to <Visual Studio Installation Path>\Common7\IDE (by default is <C:\Program Files(x86) \Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE>)
Step2:
Delete the ItemTemplatesCache, ProjectTemplatesCache folder;
Step3: Open Visual Studio Command Prompt (2010 x64 Cross Tools Command Prompt under Start menu -> All Programs -> Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 -> Visual Studio Tools
(run it with Administrator privilege: right-click the program -> Run as administrator);
Step4: Run the devenv /InstallVSTemplates switch and the devenv /Setup switch

Won't show custom project template

Hi,
I'm trying to create the simplest possible project template, just to get an idea how it works according to directions in this document. It doesn't appear in the create project dialog. I'm probably missing something obvious, can anyone help?
The attached zip file is my <LAbVIEW data>\ProjectTemplates folder, written in LV14 64 bit. It simply has a project with one VI called Test and the metadata for it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Danielle,
I was able to get your test template to show up in my LabVIEW by changing a couple of things around. In your XML file, I deleted the spaces in between the brackets and added in a couple of "yes" statements. I've attached the working .xml as a .txt file. I changed it around based on some of the existing .xml files that came with LabVIEW. Hope this helps. Have a good day.

Report Generation - Word Template

Hi,
I am trying to write a program that captures up to 873 different scope shots.
At the end, the program will generate a Word Report with all scope shots and measured parameters.
I have used the Word Template in the past and created field for each parameters. However, this approach will not be efficient with this complex test. The report format of each test is shown below with the read box indicating the field where data will be plugged in by LabVIEW.
To create the word template for entire tests can create unnecessary post processing to delete the part of the test that user didn't run. If user ran only 3 tests then he would have to delete other 870 templates which will not be cost efficient. Also, this could create unnecessary programming mess that is not very flexible.
My questions -- is there any way I can copy this template below as I run the test? Rather than creating a word template for 873 different test for which I may only run part of it, can I copy the template based on number of test that user would like to run?
Any pointers will be appreciated.

I have LabVIEW 8.5 Development version and the report generation tool kit. I will be writing VI to fill the data in and generate a word report with Up to 873 different tests. The template that I attached is the sample template for only one test, I will be doing 873 tests. The sample test template consists of scope shot and some measured parameters.
My situation - the VI that I will be writing will fill in the sample template that I attached for 873 times. For me to generate a word report for all tests, I would have to create a report template with 873 sample templates. Where there is a red box, I would have to create a field for each box so the LabVIEW will know where to put the data in.
Well, that is lot of work in the first place. Secondly, to keep up with 873 different permuation fields can create lot of unnecessary programming mess. Lastly, if the user decide to run only part of the test, then there would be lot of empty test templates. If user decide to run only 10 tests the final report will have 860 empty boxes. That is not efficient.
My goal is to create the word report using just one sample template rather than 873. I would like to copy the sample template based on number of tests user defines.
My question is- Is there any way to copy the sample test template that I attached using the report generation toolkit?

I built a customized page type (with persepective attribute) and wanted to build pages with this type. If the new pages do not based on any template, it works fine. However, if I wanted to use a template, the page type was set back to "standard"!
Steps to reproduce it:
1. create a new page type - test page type.
2. create a new template = test template.
3. create a new page - test page.
3.1 choose the page type to be "test page type"

Room template changes are not saved!!!

Hi All,
I have duplicated a standard SAP template "SAP_Project_Template_2".
And changed the description in General Tab and page permissions in Role Tabl and click Save button.
It displayed the "Test Template has been saved" message.
But when I open the template to edit I can't see those changes.
What is the reason for this behaviour?

Hi Thruna,
we have the same behaviour. We are using EP 7.0 SP17.
The only workaround we have found is to save the changes, make another change and save again (save twice).

Creating an action for a template

Hi, I'm in the middle of creating an action for a template I've created but have hit a couple of snags. The template I have created has a few blank layers that I wish to fill with different images by importing them and clipping them to the blank layer. My issues: 1) When I run the action I need to specifiy a folder and file location which gets stored in the action - when viewing that particular action will show up the full path of where to find that file - I do not want this. I would like the action to present to 'open' window to me to allow me to select a file of my choosing without having a predefined folder to go to... 2) When opening an image it will open on its own project window. When I select the image and copy + paste it into my template it requires me to select the template project. This action will insert a 'selection 2' action step when recording. Playing this back will cause a failure as it cannot find the project for an unknown reason. Is there a way of specifiying the project window name I wish to go to during recording? I hope that is clear enough to understand. Hope someone has some solution for me. Thanks, MJ

Flexible crosstab report layout - Word template builder

I'm new to BI Publisher and learning new things every day. I'm now working on a complex template layout and I'm not even sure if it can be handled at this point. Looking for any advice someone can provide?
The layout is very similar to a crosstab report, but with some flexibility in terms of layout. Here's a brief description:
A1 G1
A2 G2
A3 B3 C3 D3 E3 F3 G3 G4
Cells A1 and A2 are static (text labels read from the XML)
Cells A3 - F3 are columns of the crosstab report. Column A and B always will appear, columns C - F may or may not appear (2 or 3 will appear - just don't know which ones)
Cells G1 - G2 - Data column headers - This is a repeating column for different data points. There may be 1 up to 20 columns. Only want to display 5 of these per table, since more will go off the page. The next columns should go to a new table
Cells G3 and G4 - These are the data points for the "crosstab". One is a min value / one is a max value for the specific row / column combination.
Right now, I've got the columns A3 - F3 generating correctly, but cells A1 and A2 do not shrink and take up the same space as all 6 columns would if columns A3 to F2 were to be displayed. I've got a for-each in A3 that ends in F3. I've also got a for-each in G1 - G2 to extend the repeating columns for the data points.
Is it possible to have cells A1 and A2 size differently based on how many columns are to be displayed between A3 and F3?
Is there a better layout than the one above to tackle the creation of this data table?

Testing performance of new 10g installation

We are installing 10g for the first time. The install on a linux cluster is going well. However, we would like to do some load testing on a tested set of data and setup before we start building our warehouse. In other words, we would like to use a set of tables, indexes, data, etc. that has been tested and statistics exist for. This way we can tell if we need to do some work on our environment before we go and build our warehouse. It will be hundreds of TBs and want to ensure we won't waiste loading time.
Does anyone know of performance testing 'templates' like this?

Unable to register PL/SQL test in Diagnostics

Hi all
I try to register a new test in Diagnostics Dashboard with a PL/SQL procedure test template, but Still get error
XML File Name: /home/weibxia/Diagnostics/PlsqlDiagnosticTestTemplate.xml
Status: Failed
Reason: The PL/SQL procedure 'FUSION.FND_DIAG_DEMO_TESTS.DEMO_TEST_1_RUN_TEST' is either not defined or is defined with one or more formal parameters when it should have none.
Also I follow the steps:
grant EXECUTE on fusion.FND_DIAG_DEMO_TESTS to fusion_runtime;
grant EXECUTE on fusion.FND_DIAG_DEMO_TESTS to FUSION_APPS_EXECUTE;
The problem still can not be resolved. Please help me about that.

I have requirement to create a BW testing strategy for any CRs received.
It has to cover general step by step procedure to be followed to test and document all the tests conducted on changes made in BW.
As a QA team lead, I have to prepare this plan to be followed further.
We work on BW 3.5 and use Mercury Quality center.
I am struck with how and where to start this.Please provide me with any test templates or general guidelines for testing.

Hi,
We have not used any tool like Mercury Quality center for testing. In our case we created some test scripts and based on that we proceeded further.
I will give you some standard tests we have to do in Quality.
All the testing is done in quality before moving into Prod.
Testing like Integration and unit testing are done in quality.
You need to test if the extractions are working fine, data is getting loaded into targets, post load activities like activation, rollup, compression etc are successfull etc.
We test the PC chains also in Quality.
We schedule / trigger the chains and monitor them. We ensure that all the process types are happening successfully.
One major area we concentrate on is to identify dependcies in the chain. This will ensure less erros and also reduce chain timings by a great extend. Dependencies should be kept to a minimum whereever possible.
Also in cases where we use events/third party shceduling tools to trigger BW chains we check that out.
Executing reports to check the definitions are correct.
The volume of data will be lesser in Quality compared to Prod.
Also activities like Change runs,Deletion , Selective deletion etc are done.
Almost all the activites in Prod are done in Quality.
