Testmanagement: transport of business blueprints and test plans?

For the moment we have  the following situation:
We have a 3 system landscape. (development system, test system and productive system)
On the the test system, the testmanagment module (testworkbench) was integrated. This is used by 5 test projects from extern SAP systems.
My question: Is there a possibility to transport the Businesses Blueprints and the test plans of the actual test projects into the productive system?

Hello Marc,
We have experienced similar problems. A transport of the test plan and copies of the test plans have resulted in us loosing status values and test notes.
I was informed it had to do with the fact the information is stored in the GUI. How I don't know, I am not a technical person.
I was wondering if you may have encountered the similar problems I have had above and found ways around it.
You can reach me at [email protected] as well.

  • Test  scenario and test plan

    Hi  All,
Can somebody explain what is a test scenario and test plan with an eg ( For eg FB 60). and what are the essential things one needs to incorporate for test scenario and a test plan
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    SM

    Hi,
I am giving you the information on test plan and test scenario below. Please note that this is with reference to Solution Manager.
You create a test plan for a project in the SAP Solution Manager if you want to reuse the project structure created in the Business Blueprint for a process-oriented test. You can select all the test cases and transactions which you have assigned to the project structure, for the test plan. These test cases are performed by testers; they can call assigned transactions and run test cases in them.
Test Scenarios are nothing but the end to end business processes which are to be tested.
    Hope this helps.

  • Difference between business blueprint and functional spec

    hello
can somebody please tell me the difference between business blueprint and functional spec and how they are interrelated
    Thanks

    Hi Comandante,
Business Blue print is a detailed documentation of the requirements gathered from client (The objects we need to develop are modified depending upon clients requirements). It represents the business process requirements of the company.  It is an agreed statement of how the company intends to run its business within SAP system.
Functional specifications (functional specs), in the end, are the blueprint for how you want a particular report and transaction to look and work. It details what the report will do, how a user will interact with it, and what it will look like. By creating a blueprint of the report or transaction first, time and productivity are saved during the development stage because the programmers can program instead of also working out the logic of the user-experience. It will also enable you to manage the expectations of your clients or management, as they will know exactly what to expect. Functional Spec streamlines the development process.
A functional specification  is a formal document used to describe in detail for software developers a product's intended capabilities, appearance, and interactions with users. It guidelines and continuing reference point as the developers write the programming code.
Other processes include Requirements, Objectives,Logic Specification,User documentation,The Final Product.
Hope this Helps, Revert for any further info.
    Cheers,
    Tanish

  • Business Objects and Demand Planning Book

Has anyone combined the functionality of Business Objects and Demand Planning into a single view?   The requirement is to provide enhanced analytics (near real-time) within DP.  We are on version 5.0.  Ideally, it will a single view (table and graph -similar to standard layout) where both DP and BO are called with the same selection.  I have a method to access the data near real time.  What are the options to acheive this?  Any ideas will be helpful.
    Regards,
    James

Thanks Dave.  I created a virtual cube in APO to connect BO.  I can retrieve the data fine.  I was wondering if there is a way to integrate BO and the planning book so that I will have one view to see both applications.  For example, I called /zsapapo/sdp94 and get the planning book and BO analytics.  Essentially, I want the BO to replace the standard graphics in the planning book.  So, I would have a table at the top and BO dashboard at the bottom of the planning view.  Any ideas how to achieve this?
The other question is around using a function module or BAPI to connect a virtual cube to LC to retrieve real time information.  Are you aware of any drawbacks to using a function module or BAPI to retrieve data instead of the DataSource?

  • SAP HP Adapter don't synchronize business requirement and test requirements

    Hello,
    I need a help.
We have a customized project of HPQC here and we need to replicate the business blueprint from Solman to HPQC requeriments module.
We perform the step-by-step of the HP SAP Adapter installation guide and the connection was performed succesfully.
I can synchronize the business blueprint with the requirements of HPQC - in other hand, the interface only creates the folders of blueprint nodes on HPQC and don't creates the business requeriment(documentation on SOLMAN) neither the test requirement (transactions code on SOLMAN). Please look at the picture below:
Can you help me with this issue guys?
Our HPQC version is 10.0 and the SOLMAN version is 7.1
    Tks a lot!

    Hi Jose,
You need to maintain the Test Objects, Requirements at the Business Process Level in SOLAR02 inorder to have a structured blueprint representation at HPQC side.

  • Difference between Business Blueprint and Configuration

    Hi all,
I'm new on using the Solution Manager and I really don't understand what's different in configuration and business blueprint.
Can anybody give me a short overview of that?
    Thanks

    Hi Gross,
Blueprint is mapping the business process of the company into SAP, whereas Configuration if making the setting in SAP to the needs of the company as per the blueprint.

  • Test Suites and Test Plans Question

We are using the TFS 2013 and in the Team Web Access, whenever I create a Test Plan, it creates a Test Suite with the same title. If I delete the test suite, next time I select the test plan in the test section of Team Web Access it creates another
Test Suite again with the same title as the Test Plan.
    Why do we have this?
Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks.
    YG

    Hi Yves,
I don't find any public official document about the test suite that created with a test plan, what I mentioned is an explantation about the type of test suite. And it's not affect the testing or creating test cases/test suites/plans in team web access.
To organize test cases in a teat plan,  you have to create test suites under the test plan and then use test suite to include test cases. Check this
    page for more information.

  • Oracle Business/Disaster Recovery Test Plan ?

I've been asked to create a business/disaster recovery plan (Cover our Oracle environment) outlining what to test in the event of a DR/BR situation once the DB has been restored. Does anybody have a word template or any information would assist me in this task
    Thanks

I cannot give you a templace since that would be a site specific confidential documents; however, you really do not need one.
You might just consider adding a note that the exact steps required would depend on the exact nature of the diaster but in all cases would basically follow the pattern of
    restore missing files
forward recovery the restored database using the backed up archive logs
    open the restored, recovered database
Upon startup Oracle will check itself for consistency. If the database is found to be consisten, which it should be, then the database will be opened. The application can now be started. No additional checks by the DBA are required.
In the event the database is not consistent then the steps above would be repeated for the file(s) not restored as part of the first attempt and the process repeated. Error information will be logged to the database alert log file.

    Hi Vamsi,
(A.H.P thanks and its very nice of u to inform me through mail that somebody needs info on AFS, excellent job and really very nice of you)
i am also currently working on AFS blueprint so i am just giving you breif details of what we actually done till now for requirements collection..
We first collected the information from the client saying like what kind of reports he want to see, and also found out what all the reports he is already using and by doing this we got a list of reports from the client not only that we also showed him some reports which are available and which they can use.
once we the details of the reporting requirement we have sorted themout into groups like for eg if they say they want a report on ontime delivery
then what all the things that ontime delivery means for the client.
he wants to see delivery quantity, delivery actual date, delivery requested date. and so
so now we have got the key figures and also find out on what basis he wants to see like characterstics.
and start to find out where can we find these kf and charc.
more over i will mail u of the documents we are preparing so that might be helpful
    okay
i will mail u eg docs of KPI we have done and also the document of PI index but the best thing would be use from ASAP docs.
    thanks and regards

hopefully i am clear for you to understand

  • Transport of Test Plan / Test Packages

    Dear all,
We intend to transport a test plan with all test packages from the development Solution Manager to the productive Solution Manager because in the productive Solution Manager no configuration is allowed.
We are using the Solution Manager functionality to execute manual testing in the following way:
On SOLAR02 the project 'FOUNDATION' is stored. The project 'FOUNDATION' has been migrated from a outstanding sandbox Solution Manager system to all three Solution Manager Systems: DEV, TEST and PROD. Test scripts have been uploaded on the 'test cases' tab of the respective business process branch.
In the development Solution Manager SMD a test plan has been generated using the uploaded test scripts mentioned above.
On the quality assurance Solution Manager the same project 'FOUNDATION' is stored and the same test scripts are uploaded on the same branches.
When the test plan is transported (using the recommended STWB_2 transport functionality) from the development SM to the quality assurance SM there are two issues.
    1. The transported test plan cannot be edited / regenerated anymore. An error message "The specified structure does not exist" is displayed. Message number is SOLAR056.
    2. The transported packages can be assigned to users but no notes can be added to the test cases. The error message is: "Unable to find template". Message number is SOFFICEINTEGRATION231.
It seems that the transported test plan cannot retrieve the underlying project structure, even it is identical to the project structure of the development SM.
This problem is urgent to us, as the test phase is starting next week.
Thank you very much for your support.
    Best Regards,
    Marc Reinhardt
