TestStand Error only when using Operator Interface
My testStand sequence runs correctly when I run it from the seqEditor, but when I run it from our Operator Interface (modified version of the simpleOI example), I get the following error,
"Error Message: Parameter 'Input Files': System Level Exception. [Error Code: -17502]
Input Files is a parameter of the LabView vi being called, and is an array of strings. The VI executes correctly even when called fromthe OI, but when it returns to TestStand (when called from the OI) the error occurs.
Thanks for any info and help on this. Also any info on why the simpleOI would cause an error would be appreciated too.
Hi Ray,
Here are some answers to your questions.
This VI that error's, is it part of the simpleOI or part of the Sequence File being run by the simpleOI?
---- The VI is part of a sequence file that is called by the OI.
If it is in a Sequence File, does this run in the default OI?
---- No, it's part of a new set of test sequences for our equipment.
What does the simpleIO do with the data contained in Input Files?
---- The data is just passed to another VI to load our input vectors.
What version's of TestStand and LabVIEW are you running.
---- I believe it's LV 8.5.1 and TestStand 4.0
What sort of modification have you done to the simpleOI example?
---- I think we only added our new sequences, a Operator info popup, and a few more buttons (Pass/Fail light, Change Op Info). And we removed some unused code to make it more simple.
Thanks again for your help.

Problems to show IVI driver, properts loader when using operator interface
I am using the Operator Interface (programmed in CVI, with asynchronous timer) in folder OP1 in attached zip file. This operator interface puts not the error message of IVI driver, properts loader etc... on the screen (messages like in attached picture error.jpg in attached zip file). Because of stability problems I am using this operator interface but I need these error message.
A Other Operator interface is OP2 in attached zip file. This operator interface puts the error message of IVI driver, properts loader ... on the screen (messages like in attached picture error.jpg in attached zip file).
Now I want to have this functionality with OP1 becaus of stability reasons I have to use OP1.
How can I implement this in OP1? I tried and searched a lot of time but I have not found a method to implement this.
can anyone help me?
thank you
regards Samuel

OP.zip 3405 KBHi Sam,
if you open the userinterface which comes with Teststand - the simple one - you should be able to find the difference. You can find it here:
C:\Programme\National Instruments\TestStand 4.1\UserInterfaces\Simple\CVI
I hope this helps.

[SOLVED] 'ata3: EH complete' errors only when using GNOME
Hello,
when I use GNOME as my DE, I start to get 'ata3: EH complete' errors on dmesg. ata3 is where my hard drive is connected to. Usually one would get those messages if the hard drive was going to failure, but the hard drive seems to be OK (smartctl and programs like Palimpsest gives no error).
It seems something related to power management.
Any ideas? This is a WDC WD2500BEVS-22UST0 hard-drive (250GB 2,5") on an Acer 7720 laptop. The disk controller is
00:1f.2 SATA controller: Intel Corporation 82801HBM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) SATA AHCI Controller (rev 03)
I am using the LTS kernel if that changes anything.
Thanks!

Nothng bad with it. Anyway revise if some parameters are too agressive for your disk, edit values in /etc/pm/power.d/harddrive (new file) based on /usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d/harddrive. -

Error message when using search
why do i keep getting an error message when using the "search" tabe in iTunes. This happend whe i upgraded t the latest version of itunes.
Well, I believe JHeadstart does not really have this functionality.
One way is use a Query Operator 'startsWith', but then you always query like LIKE '<entered search value>%'
This is probably not what you want...
But you could hack it into advancedSearch in YourApplicationModuleImpl
try {
if (viewCriterium.getQueryValue() != null) { //This is where exception JHS-00116 is raised...
value = viewCriterium.getQueryValue().toString();
} else {
value = null;
catch (NumberFormatException ex) {
//insert check for wildcard
value = viewCriterium.getValue().toString();
if (value.indexOf('%')>=0) {
sLog.debug("Ja, een wildcard!!!");
operator = "LIKE";
} else {//original exceptionhandling code here...
...and a bit later, add test for "LIKE":
if (viewCriterium.isDate() || viewCriterium.isString() || "LIKE".equals(operator)) {
value = "'" + value + "'";
very nasty code, and does not raise an exception for searches like '%xxx'
Good luck,
HJH

Error message when using FM 'BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_CHANGE'.
I'm continually getting an error message when using FM 'BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_CHANGE'. The message being 'Table BAPIADTEL entry to be changed not found in target system'.
I have looked up this message but all links seem to refer to FM 'BAPI_BUPA_CENTRAL_CHANGE', which I'm not using, and has different parameter settings.
I'm simply trying to update the telephone number and I'm updating strcuture BAPIADTEL and BAPIADTELX but still the message appears. I know that there is a really simple reason for this, but I have been double-checking everything and experimenting with lots of different areas, but with no effect.
Has anyone encountered this problem using the specific FM ''BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_CHANGE' ?.
JasonHi Jason,
In case your database tables had already value for field telephone number, then only the flag should be "U".
If the telephone number field was empty, and we will try to change it by using the flag as U, it wont work. In this case, we should be using "I".
I even wrote that before in this post, but somehow I guess the post was locked, and a lot of comments from you and me were not visible apart from the first two. So, I couldnt get any update from you.
Anyway, its good that its working for you. Thank you for the update.

No performance gain when using local interfaces
Hello,
I'm doing some tests to compare performances between remote ejb interfaces and local ejb interfaces.
I have two stateless session beans EJB1 and EJB2, EJB1 calls a method on EJB2, this method receives one object as the only parameter and returns it immediately. The parameter is a big object (~700ko). My test consists simply of making 1000 calls from EJB1 to EJB2, one time with remote interfaces, one time with local interface. For both tests, the EJBs run in the same container, same VM.
The results show absolutely no differences between the remote and the local interface !
As I found these results a bit surprising, I changed the serialization method of my parameter object this way:
private void writeObject(java.io.ObjectOutputStream out) throws IOException {
System.out.println("writeObject(MyBigObject)");
out.defaultWriteObject();
just to check if my object is serialized when using remote interface. And the response is no.
So question is: is there an "undocumented optimization" of the stub/skel generated by weblogic which make local calls when calling a remote method inside the same VM ?
Some precisions:
- I'am using weblogic 8.1sp2
- When calling remotely my EJB2 from an external batch (running in a separate VM), I see the message "writeObject(MyBigObject)" so the serialization is done in this case.<Fr?d?ric Chopard> wrote in message news:[email protected]..

WebLogic 5.x, 6.x and 7.x do call by reference for co-located EJBs by default. 8.1 has this behavior turned off by default. You may
experience call-by-reference optimization in 8.1 only if it has been turned on explicitly in the deployment descriptor.
Hope this helps.

Honestly I'm not sure if these began just after I updated FF to the current release, but it's been happening for at least 2 weeks. The arrow keys and page up and page down keys all work as if I'm pressing the 'home' and 'end' keys on my keyboard. This is only when using FF. Please contact me if you need more clarification. Thanks in advance!
Sounds that you have switched on caret browsing.

Prompting for password and username only when using dynamic parameters
Post Author: Co3023
CA Forum: Crystal Reports
How do I stop CR XI prompting for password and username only when using dynamic parameters. When no dynamic parameters are used CR XI isn't prompting for the DB user name and password. The report is run from an application which passes the user name and password. I am using Oracle and the problem is both with the native oracle driver and the ODBC RDO driver.Post Author: jehanzeb

I didnt ask you to change it to static I said I took the parameters totally out of the report. Saved it. Then re-enter the dynamic parameters into the report and it worked for me. That might have worked for you, not sure why you changed it to static.
Ok I have just created a quick report using dynamic parameters, it didnt ask me for the username password.
Can you create a sample report - just to test the db? and see if it works? add only 1 or 2 fields in the report, create parameters (dynamic) and see if it works
why don't you embed the username and password in your application, it won't ask for username password then.
