Tethering advances to next shot

Hi guys,
I am having issues and I don't know if this is a feature. It seems to come and go with different releases of lightroom. When I am shooting tethered using either auto import or lightroom tethering the viewed image is automatically updated to the most recent shot to have imported automatically. This is useless if you are shooting quickly during say a fashion shoot. The images come screaming in you can't stop the constant update of images to see what you have and are getting, it moves you off an image you might have been working on and clients get confused as to whats going on.
Is there anyway to stop the auto updating of images?? I am happy to do almost anything to fix the issue including editing the TranslatedStrings.txt file if that would work. The other option is switch to Campture 1 which I am seriously considering.

To add to Rikk's comment, when using the built-in tethering you can go to the menu bar under File -> Tethered Capture and uncheck "Auto Advance Selection". Note that I'm looking at LR3.6 right now and am not sure if this has changed under LR4.
I also frequently use auto-import as an option for tethering (as it allows me to quickly pull the USB, shoot to card, and import files with the same configuration) - I'll have to check out Survey Mode as a way to prevent auto advancing. I've been looking for a solution to this myself.

Don't DL Flash from web sites. If you have Adobe Flash installed it should be in System Preferences and you can find the latest version and download from there.
If you are installing for the first time,this is where to DL it.

Ipod nano 5th gen, when listening to audiobooks, ipod does not advance to next part when previous part ends, it returns to beginning of previous part

when listening to audiobooks, when a part finishes, i.e., part 1, ipod starts over at beginning of part just finished instead of advancing to the next part, i.e., part 2. Is there some setting I can change so it advances to next part instead of repeating the part I just finished?

Need Help for a simple Keypress to advance to next frame

Hi all,
I am pretty weak at Action script. I need to create a simple presentation that displays a bunch of photos. I want to be able to hit the space bar to advance to next picture. I am able to stop the playhead at the picture, but i want to advance to next labelled frame by hitting the space bar. Some help would be great.

Thanks for the quick response, I have a 4 pictures on 4 seperate layers. The starting keyframe for each picture is labeled "Slide 01"," Slide 02" etc. When i test movie, it automatically plays the first picture labeled "Slide 01". At the end that slides frames I have a stop action. When I hit the space bar, i want the playhead to jump to the next slide which it's start keyframe is labeled "Slide 02". It has a few frames to allow for fadeing in, and then a stop action on the last keyframe. And so on.
I entered your code and placed the goto and play event handler to jump to the next slide's keyframe which i labeled "Slide 02". I did get the following error:

Your sequence settings and clip settings are not matching. To make them match, right click on a clip and choose New Sequence from Clip and a new sequence will be created based on your clip settings.

I'm an author and as I make comments on a document, I want to be able to move to the next one rather than have to scroll down through the entire document to be able to find all the comments. Also, is there a way to link 2 documents together and scroll together?

How do I set my project to advance to next slide on mouse click vs just play?

Captivate 6 on mac running OS 10.7.5 file format in question .htm (firefox)
I'm brand new to Captivate 6 (never used it before) I have put together a mock presentation from scratch which has a few introductory slides then a quiz. When I publish it there is a "play" button which is NOT the behavior I want.
I watched a training video from Lynda.com and the insstructor imported a PPT file, there was a dialog box which asked the how to advance slide, there was a drop down menu and one of two options was advance "on mouse click". This is the behavior I'm looking for.
I've scoured the internet and forums etc to find a comparable option elsewhere in Captivate 6 when creating from scratch vs importing from PPT and cannot find one anywhere. I've also read that you can insert a click box object and that that would do what I'm looking for but that doesn't work either.
Does any such option exist and if so where/ how do I get to it/ use it. Please see attachments below. First screen shot is the first slide I get which isn't the first slide either, what's up with that? Next one is simply to show how the project just "plays" instead of advancing slide by slide. Third is my publish dialog box. Bottom line I don't want a "play" button I want the user to mouse click next, next, next etc. How do I do this?

Maybe I understand something wrongly, but thought you also wanted to know how you can make slides advance on clicking the Next button instead of having it playing on automatically? And instead of using the playbar you want to have a Previous and Next button?
The way imported PPT with advance on Mouse click works is because there is a click box added to each slide that pauses that slide at its end. The user has to click on the slide to advance.
A click box is an 'interactive' object: this means that you can have it pausing the slide, that the user can interact with it and trigger an action like 'Go to Next Slide'.
You added (from what I see on the last screenshot) another interactive object, but now I'm confused: the third screenshot has a Prev and Next arrow, I think those are shapes. You do not need to add a click box on top of them (what I see on the last screenshot), they can be converted themselves into buttons. I blogged a lot about those shape buttons. Anyway, both click box and shape button can pause the slide. This is the case by default for click boxes (at the end of their duration, their timeline), for shape buttons you have to tell them to pause in the Timing accordion. In your case I certainly would choose a shape button because they can be put on a master slide, or timed for the rest of the project whereas Click boxes need to be unique on each slide, you'l have a lot of copy/paste to do then. In the Action accordion, On Success you choose the action, I think in this case you want 'Go to Next Slide' for the Next 'thing'
As for the first screenshot, Rod explained that you cannot get rid of the play button for pdf output, but you can have a poster image instead of the blank screen. There is a folder icon in Preferences, Project, Start and End when you deselect AuotPlay.

T-SQL: Cursor is not advancing to next record

Problem: I have the code below which uses a cursor. The cursor keeps returning the first record and does not advance to the next record in the cursor. It appears as if the Fetch Next is not being recognized. The Select

The real question is how to get rid of this mess. Think about the local “@remove_audit_user” as a variable; it's name is a verb, not a noun! and the NVARCHAR(n) lets you use Chinese Unicode. Why? In ISO-11179 rules , “remove_” is a called a role, and the

Text Entry with Tab Key not advancing to next slide

I am using Captivate 1 to create a screen that has a text
entry requiring the user to press the Tab key as the Shortcut Key.
The users are having to press the Tab key multiple times to get the
course to advance to the next slide. There does not seem to be a
rhyme or reason to which text entries this occurs in, nor does
there seem to be a pattern to the number of times or forcefulness
in which the Tab key must be pressed, though more aggressive key
presses have yielded better results. Sadly, requesting the users
bang the Tab key with as much force as they can muster is not a
viable option.
Here are things I have tried:
Decrease length of slide
Increasing active time of the text entry
Adding/removing playback control
Deleting and recreating text entries
If anyone has any idea what can be done to correct this
problem, it would be much appreciated.

The following has worked for me in Cap1, so try it and see:
Add the text entry box and include the submit button.
Make the submit button transparent and edit text to a full
stop at the smallest available font size (Captivate won't accept a
submit button without something typed in and a full stop is the
smallest thing available display wise)
On the submit button, set the shortcut key to "Tab".
My reasoning was that the shortcut key on the text entry box
"activates" the box, thus allowing input and the shortcut key on
the "submit" button "deactivates" the box so that the slide can
move on as required.

I have multiple TextAreas in my application, which user can
edit. I want cursor and focus to automatically shift to Next
TextArea whenever current Textarea is full without any scrolling
bar.
Currently I am checking (maxScrollV>1) property of
TextField to find if a TextArea is full or not. But this condition
is true only after adding scrolling in TextArea.
Is there any way to find if TextArea is full without adding
any scrolling in current TextArea and shifting focus to next
TextArea.

IPad Nano Won't automatically Advance to next song in *specific* Playlist, shuffle is enabled

I have a 4th generation iPod Nano that was working properly up until last week, and now it's not working for no apparent reason.
There is a playlist I use to work out with, and all of a sudden it stopped automatically advancing to the next/ another song when the first song in the playlist is over. It just stops all together and goes back to the main playlist screen.
Shuffle has been enabled in both the settings and within the playlist but nothing has changed:(
It's working properly with all other playlists. Super weird. I just reset my ipod and I have the latest version of iTunes and Ipod software. Nothing.
Any suggestions??

Have you tried removing and resyncing this playlist to your iPod via iTunes? Are the songs on this playlist in any other playlist on your device?
Do the songs otherwise play normally on your device?

Crop Tool -- shortcut to advance to next frame since forward arrow doesn't work in crop tool?

Hi,
As a pro, I crop all my photos.
I normally use the forward arrow to move through each image, but with the crop tool the forward arrow doesn't work for advancing to the next frame.
It only adjusts the crop.
This is extremely frustrating for me as it slows down my workflow.
Is there a one key shortcut, within the Crop Tool -- that permits us to move forward from frame to frame?
I wish the forward key worked for this within the crop tool!
Is there an easy answer or a way to format something in Lightroom -- so I can have a one-key method to advance frames within the Crop tool?

I just tested it on my Mac and it worked with the Command + arrow Key...
However, using two fingers for this shortcut is a little clumsy and uncomfortable...
I think there's a way to create your own keyboard shortcuts -- do you know how to do this, maybe assigning a single key which would be a little easier?

Itouch keeps repeating same song - will not advance to next song

My itouch, after working fine for over one year, now will not advance to the next song automatically. It keeps repeating the next song.
