Tethering and Controlling the Shooting Sequence Numbers

This may be a bit much - but I have to ask.
I'm just getting started with Aperture, but one of my reasons for switching from Lightroom was the Tethering abilities of Aperture.
My question is very simple, when shooting tethered where/how can I control the image sequence numbers? The sequence number on my EOS 5D is controlled by the folder it's writing too, and the EOS software lets you specify a starting number- however ...
Aperture is not using the EOS Utility to do the tethering, or is it?
Anyway- if someone can tell me how to control my sequence starting point while shooting tethered, that'd be cool --

When I upload photos to My Photo Steam the sequence of the photos is altered. So any shots taken in 'burst' mode will not appear in order - usually the middle shots of the burst sequence are moved to either the beginiing or the end of the seqence. (so, for example, when reviewing a sequence in My Photo Stream - you see a basketball player take a shot before he dribbles towards the basket...)
I wonder, why you are seeing more than one photo of a burst of photos in the PhotoStream at all. According to the "Photo Stream FAQ" only the final selected photo of a burst will upload to the Photo Stream, see:

No. Only the final photos that you select when using burst mode, and only the final composite image shot with image stabilization are added to My Photo Stream.

Look up "screen sharing" in help
You can control your mini (which I am assuming you are hooking to your TV) complete from your iMac.
After you set up screen sharing, you can go to the finder, under the "go" menu choose "Connect to server" and then browse. Choose your mac mini's name, and look for the "Screen Sharing" button.

Go to Apple Menu > App Store > View my account > sign in and then edit the payment details with the new card details.
I am assuming that your card and supporting bank are in the same country as your residential (billing) address and that you are using the App Store of that country.

An Apple Store is not going to be able to unlock the phone without wiping it as a restore as new. If the OP doesn't want to lose everything, and has previously sync'd with iTunes, then they would want to have the opportunity to do a backup and then restore....

how do I show my keynote file on a dvd player and control the slides with the skip or next chapter command on the dvd remote? when I export to quicktime, it changes slides on a timed basis. I want the chapter button on a dvd remote to act like a mouse click would.

You have to export the individual slides from your Keynote presentation, and then import them into your DVD application.
I use DVDStudioPro - it works fine this. I'm sure iDVD will be OK.Going via QT has never worked for me.

Using TestStand 2.0, what is the best way to run a smaller sequence, in parallel to the main sequence, and access the main sequence's FileGlobals?

I did ask this a while back and appreciate your responses. We did upgrade to TestStand 2.0. The basic problem is that I have written and TestStand sequence to test Avionics black boxes. We use Excel to specify the signal names and input data and expected output data for thousands of test cases. My LabVIEW VI's are small generic modules that refer back to TestStand to determine how to set or get the signals. This way, on other projects, we simple change a few signal names, instruments, and were good to go. We use Analog, Digital, Pulse Trains, Synchro Resolvers, LVDT/RVDT, power supplies, logic analyzers, ... to perf
orm these test. The TestStand sequence can run different black boxes on difference test benches based on the data contained with the TestStand FileGlobals. Now I have come across a special situation where in a couple of input signals are set based on a couple of output signals. I developed a short sequence to read the output signals, compute the values of the inputs signals, and set the instrument to send that data to the UUT for those couple of signals. Anyway, I have to reference the FileGlobals to determine what the instruments are and how to access them are used for the signals involved. Since I have a lot of FileGlobal data, I can not pass it as parameters to the parallel sequence.
What I would like to be able to do is just reference the main sequence's FileGlobals as if they were the parallel sequence's FileGlobals.
I am willing to send a copy of the sequence being used to whomever thinks they know a good way to accomplish this if it would help them to determine what I am t

a) If the parallel sequence is in the same file and...
a1) ...you launch the parallel sequence as a thread in the execution of main sequence, you do not need to do anything. The sequences share the same file globals
a2) ...you launch the parallel sequence as a separate execution, you must mark the file globals as shared by all executions. You specify this in the Sequence File Global control on the sequence file properties dialog box.
b) If the parallel sequence is in a different file (or even the same file), you can pass the entire set of file globals as a single sequence parameter to the parallel sequence when you launch it. Make a Container parameter and right click on it to turn off type checking. Pass FileGlobals to the parameter. When you edit the subsequenc
e, you won't be able to see specific file globals under the parameter but they will appear at runtime.

Controling the legend in Numbers

Hi all,
I'm trying to edit a chart I have drawn using XY scatter data with Numbers '09. Besides colors, I would like to distinguish my data lines with solid, dotted, and dashed lines. Numbers lets me do this easily, but I don't seem to have any control over how the data is labeled in my legend. There, all the data is labeled with a solid line, regardless of whether the data it represents is dotted or solid.
Is there any workaround to this besides manually creating my own legend with text boxes and assorted lines?

Numbers seems to think that color and data symbol are all that is required to distinguish one series from another in the legend. The problem is that sometimes you don't want to use data symbols (like on charts with many data points), color doesn't do you much good if you make black and white copies, and sometimes you want to use the same color for two or more series to show that they are related to each other (the dashed versus solid line type distinguishes them from each other).
Here is one workaround if you are not using data points on your chart. For a dashed line, set the data point to an X, set the size to 2, and set the color to the background color (typically white). That'll make the legend have a dashed line. For the actual line on the chart, you have to set it to be a dashed line in the Graphic Inspector. This is not a perfect solution but I don't know of a better one

When in system preferences, under languages and text, and within it in regions, there is a place where you can format numbers - or currencies by indicating that you want a dot in decimals and comma in thousands, for instance. This is in order to format numbers in calculating sheets, either in numbers of excell.
Since I have moved to Mountain Lion, this does not work. However, with an apple advisor, we were able to determine that it is not a global problem, it seems to be a problem in my computer. We found this out when we created a new administrator user as a test, and the formatting mentioned above works like a charm.
Then we tried separating all my preferencies into a untitled folder restarted and got a set of new prefernces for my own user, and the formatting required did not work.
Now I am - as you can see - quite stumped, the advisor told me it might be in the home folder, but I lost touch with him, and I am hoping that I can find SOMEONE that can help me with this issue.

But I got it solved and I would like to share it with you. I actually called Apple and they created a user roots, and from the library in the HD replaced the preferences. After that it worked like a charm.... But that is not all, then excel did not work, even if preferences did, so I went and uninstalled microsoft office, and reinstalled so that was that...
I use safari... I love it, but thanks for all your offers. If I even do need something, I will let you know. and PLEASE let me know if what I wrote above makes sense.... but it works

SendRedirect and controlling the Application

I have an MVC application which consists of a controller servlet and
a number of JSPs.
The controlling servlet uses a sendRedirect to direct control to a
further place - this place being an ORACLE reports server which makes a call to a report and displays it as PDF - when it does this it takes
over the whole window and hence when I come out of the report I have to close down the window and hence the JSP that caused the original
sendRedirect to be made.
What I would like to happen is the following:
1.) Initiating JSP displays records to be reported on
2.) User selects the row to be reported (by clicking a check box) on -
this record is then sent back to the controlling servlet for the
sendRedirect to be made in order to initiate the report.
3.) Report runs and produces the output.
4.) User closes down the report and control is then passed back to
the initiating JSP ready for the user to select the next record to
run the report for.
Whilst I can do the first 3 I cannot figure out how to do step 4.)
Any help much appreciated.

The immediately obvious solution would be to generate
the report in a new window, thus when the user closes
the reports, the initial JSP page is still active and
the user may select a new report to run.
Another idea... make the page that's generating the
report a framed page, leaving you an frame with the
option to close the reports window and return back to
the originating JSP (similar to how microsoft handles
navigating to/from external sites from Hotmail). When
the user clicks Close or Return, or whatever, the JSP

Hi,
The budget is not uploaded on the G/L account, but on FM address (fund centre, commitment item, etc.) You are able to map the FM addresses to your accounts using basic derivation tools of FM.

How to post the data to a new window and control the new window's property?

When we submit the form data to another page, we usually do the following:

Now, what I want is to open display.jsp in a new browser, but control the window's size,
and disable the status bar, title bar, and address bar of a new browser.
If I do this, it can only open a html page, but not post the data to display.jsp.

Monitoring and controlling the Tag values of Logix 5000 using Labview while using RSLogix 5000 to program the PLC

I want to know how to change the input bits or tags of a PLC which is programmed using RSlogix 5000. But I need to use Labview to monitor the input bits ( like in Digitial Input bits) and then be able to change the BITS while the PLC runs and the PLC should be able to detect the change in input bits and act accordingly. The programming is done using ladder logic and its done in RSLogix 5000 and dumped into PLC using RSLogix.

Once you have the OPC server up and running the best way to communicate with is is through the Datalogging and Supervisory Control module for LabVIEW. The DSC module allows you to bind shared variables to items on your OPC server. Then you could just read from or write to these shared variables to access the data on this OPC server. If you don't want to get this module you could also just use datasocket to read/write from an OPC server. The URL you would use in data socket would look something like "opc://localhost/{your opc item's address}".

The photos do appear in order in Aperture (and in any other photo sharing site), but just no in My Photo Stream.
