Tethering blackberry Pearl 9105 to PC running Windows 7 - error message that " the specified port is not open "
I am trying to tether my Blackberry Pearl to my PC using Blackberry Desktop Manager. The phone is recognised and connected. I choose the Vodaphone Contract connection profile but keep getting a message that "the specified port is not open". The RIM virtual modem ports used are COM3 and COM4 and my modem is configurred as COM 3 ,
Is there a port conflict with something on my PC ? or something that I can do to force a port open ?
Hi Don,
I have seen this issue fixed for some users by modifying the following registry key:
The key is "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" MoveImages
Set the key to 1 instead of 0 then reboot the machine.
In case you still face the issue try the following registry key change:
The only thing you have to do is rename the following key at the REGEDIT, and everything will be fine !!
BEFORE:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.exe
AFTER:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.old
Note: Please take a backup of the registry before attempting this change.
Regards,
Rave

I have trouble downloading iTunes software and related software like the new ios8 on both my desktop--Windows 7, and my laptop--Windows Vista, because I keep getting error messages saying the software has been deleted because invalid signature. I have tried download and install and I have tried just download, but neither method works. So I am stuck with the older software and my new iPad 2 Air isn't connecting because I need ios8 apparently.
I have an iPhone 5 and a new iPad 2 Air.
How to get around the Windows problem, please?
Thank you!bump

The download and install processes seemed to work OK
The first Firefox window opened suggesting I update Adobe Flash Player. Clicking on download (with AV s/w either on or off made no diference) produced the Windows message that Firefox had stopped working.
By-passing the Adobe download suggestion and attempting to open up my home page (Google) produced the same result.
In fact any attempt to do anything, i.e. hitting the Enter key or left-clicking the mouse, produced the same result. Firefox freezes and WIndows then closes it.Try to update Windows Vista Service Pack 2 using Windows Update, then select all high-priority or important updates, install them and restart the computer. Run Firefox. If it works fine then OK or if it crashes then there was no problem with the operating system.
The second method is restart your PC, after the manufacturer logo appears and before "Microsoft Corporation(C)" progress bar appears press F8 key. you will be presented with a menu with options-
Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt
etc. select "Safe Mode with Networking , and then login to your user account. Run Firefox again. If it works normally, then that probably means that your PC was infected prior to installing Firefox. Update your existing antivirus and run a full scan or acquire free Antivirus like Avast Free Antivirus etc.
If it still crashes, then try re-installing NOT Repairing Firefox AFTER INSTALLING AN UPDATED ANTIVIRUS .
OK the last way, better uninstall Firefox 3.6 and install Firefox 4 Beta 7. Firefox 4 Beta 7 runs 3 times faster than Firefox 3.6, with an overall improved interface. -

Many thanks.
the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable
click ok to try again or enter an alternative path to a folder containing the installation package itunes64.msi in the box below
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459

(If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

When I use Garageband the window is so large that I can't reach the bottom corner to decrease the window to fit inside the display so that I can see the top and bottom of the window at the same time.
Any suggestions? You can reduce the window by grabbing any edge or corner. You don't have to use the bottom right anymore.
You could also temporarily move the dock to the left/right so you can reach the bottom. -
New computer OS is Windows 7. Old computer OS was Windows XP.
HP Officejet 4500 Wireless Printer G510n-z printed documents as I chose using the Porperties button on the old system. Under the new system the Properties button does nothing and I must print using "general printing" instead of the setting I wish to use. How can it be fixed? When something works one day, but not the next, then something has changed. The fonts issue is an easy one, but with no new ones, then it is possible that one, or more, of the installed fonts has become corrupted.
While fonts are not the only possibility, they ARE a common problem. Titler is very sensitive to fonts, either corrupt ones, or badly written ones, that are not exactly "corrupt."
Good luck,

?
Several things to try.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the Sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut Off. To power up hold the Sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time (for about 10-15 seconds) until the Apple logo appears (ignore the red slider), then let go of the buttons.
Disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.

Blackberry Pearl 9105 3G keyboard / keypad replacement
Hello!
I've just bought Blackberry Pearl 9105 in England. I live in Russia so I would like to replace original english keyboard with russian one (OEM russian Blackberry keyboard ordered in China).
Can you advice some manual or video showing how to do this? Can't find something helpful yet...
Thank you!
PS. Using Blackberry 9105 (not 9100) with T9 keyboard. Before I found some video showing keyboard replacement on 9100, but the construction of 9105 is different so I afraid of breaking the device.
Solved!
Go to Solution.Solved it by myself.
Here is an instruction - it is quite easy.
Unfortunately, my chinese russian keypad looked very bad as compaired with original one... Espeсially backlightened... So I left original one. -

I tried updating my itune program. Now all I get is the following message "Itunes was not installed properly. Please reinstall itunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126). WHAT can I do to get back to where my itunes program is running again?
I have uninstalled the proram and tried reinstalling and get the same error message. The other error message I get is "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem". I have tried that twice with no luck. Can someone help me get my music back???Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Is it possible to view meta data settings on a recorded clip?
I have the Vixia HF G30 and am wondering if the aperture value and the shutter speed information is stored somewhere. I don't see this information when I load the clip into Finalcut X or when it's still in the recorder.
