Tethering with iPhone4 : From working perfectly to useless

I recently activated the tethering option on my 2GB data plan with AT&T on my iPhone4. I am using a USB connection to my Windows Vista desktop.
Three days ago, when I first set up the connection, it worked beautifully. I was able to activate the tethering option under Settings -> General -> Network -> Internet Tethering = ON and I was using this with 3G and Cellular Data enabled. About five to ten seconds after I activated this option, Windows picked up the new networking device and I was using the tethered connection right away. The iPhone showed the blue bar connection at the top of the screen for the homepage indicating that the tether connection was active.
Yesterday, when I tried the same steps to activate my tethered connection, I was surprised that it no longer worked. My Windows machine is still able to recognize the iPhone as a device (i.e. I can still see the content on the phone), but it no longer recognizes a network connection. I tried on my Win7 laptop to see if it was something related to my desktop, but it wasn't able to recognize the tethering network connection either. I have an old MBP that I might also hook up to see if that helps recognize the network connection, but I suspect the more likely candidate is the phone itself.
I have spoken with AT&T about the issue and they were unable to provide a working solution. I have performed a hard reset on the phone. Does anyone know of a configuration step I might have missed or alternative methods of testing to try to restore my working tether connection? I'd really appreciate any help anyone could offer.

Ok I resolved it last night after visiting the local Apple store.
I was under the impression that iTunes contained all of the device drivers in its own software package to control my iPhone 4. Not so. There is another piece of software, Apple Mobile Device Support, that needed to be updated to provide the correct drivers for my OS. When I reinstalled this software and searched online for the latest driver, it fixed my problem.
I'm not sure what caused the driver to go berserk in the first place.

MBP keeps crashing when using Internet Tethering with iPhone4

I have had 2 crashes today of my new 13" MBP (I7 CPU, 8 Gb RAM, SSD) while using Ethernet Tethering with iPhone4. This is really embarrassing. I have used PC all my life and this is my first Mac. It's been many years since I have seen Blue screen of death on my PC. I have always heard about super reliability of Mac and could not believed my eyes when I saw the black message. Software industry moved long way improving reliability but looks like Mac team is moving in other direction. Unacceptable!

Same with my MacBook Pro!
I was really upset with this issue.
I got it in early March 2011, just only one month and a few days.
I always connected via USB tethering, it did work.
The problem just started yesterday, it almost 10 times after connect internet.
I called to the technical support and they told me to update to 10.6.7 (Mine was 10.6.6)
Then I updated and it went well (which I found out later that cuz I use the WiFi to connected) for the rest of the day.
But after I came back home and connected via USB , it crashed again.
Then I decided to go to the store at 5th ave. , they checked for a 10 minutes and told me to backup all my data and take it back to them.
Let see what is going to happen next.

Mail gone from working perfect to extremely glitchy? Anyone else?

Just wondering if there has been an update glitch or something. I am running two computers, one G4 silverdoor tower and a MBP. Mail has worked flawlessly for the time I have owned both computers. Now, they both seem to glitch constantly!
- mail won't send, does not recognize STMP. Will sit in outbox, then randomly decide everything is ok now? No pattern to behaviour.
- mail will send, but never actually get go to intended person. Randomly. Some will, some won't. Even if they are sent seconds apart from each other.
Just wondering if anyone else has run into similar problems. I have contacted my hosting provider and they have tested everything from there end and have not found a problem? Not sure why it is an issue now? Everything worked perfectly before, and I have not changed anything.

If this email account and SMTP server used to send messages with the account is provided by your hosting provider which is not your internet service provider used for connecting to the internet, any problems with messages being sent are likely something you need to address with your ISP.
Is your hosting provider's SMTP server authenticated?
Are you using 25 for the Server Port with this SMTP server?
If so, try entering 587 in place of 25 in the Server Port field for this SMTP server - Mail > Preferences > Accounts under the Advanced tab for the account preferences - Server Settings button for this SMTP server.
Are you also access an email account and SMTP server that is provided by your ISP with the Mail.app and if so, any problems sending messages with this account?
A successfully sent message (a message moved to the account's Sent mailbox is an indication the message was successfully sent) is either accepted or rejected by the recipient's incoming mail server. Most of the time you will receive a return (bounced) email error message from the recipient's incoming mail server if a message is rejected by the server for whatever reason but not always - especially with the amount of spam being circulated today with spammers using what is called a dictionary attack on an ISP's or email account provider's domain.
If a successfully sent message is not received by the recipient, this is not a Mail.app problem. This problem more than likely is at the recipient's incoming mail server. Your email address or the domain for your email address or your ISP may have been blacklisted by the recipient's incoming mail server if they believe spam is or has been emanating from the provider's domain or from your ISP's domain. A computer's IP address can be blocked or a range of IP addresses by a recipient's incoming mail server.

Problem in JSP with JavaScripts, which works perfectly in TOMCAT

The peice of code below works without any problem in tomcat, which assign some values from a form named "frmOffice" which is in another jsp. In 9iAS it seems the values are not found. Also it says 'error on page'. What could be the reason. Please respond as soon as possible. Thanks.

Specifically, the vertical spacing between the .gifs at the tertiary menu level -- hover over services / project types. In Safari and Chrome the .gifs all butt up against each other properly, which I achieved with the block property after much trial and error. But there's still separation between them when viewed in IE and FF.

Z10 can't send email with ActiveSync from work Outlook webmail

First off, love my Z10. It was able to connect to my work's Outlook webmail with no problem. I am able to get calendar and work emails.
HOWEVER, I can't seem to be able to send email through my work account. When sending an email, I keep getting this red wrong way icon with the message:
Message Status: Acknowledgement for send was not received from Server.
What's wrong?
I checked through my Outlook web account and it shows my phone within Mobile Phone Details:
Access state: Access Granted
Policy applied: Default - Applied in full
ActiveSync version: 14.0
Is there something I need to ask my IT staff for?

It appears as if your email is running on Exchange 2010, and if so then you can troubleshoot this issue yourself to see if your phone is even talking to your ActiveSync server when it is trying to send the emails. If something doesn't jump out at you during this process, this information should help your IT folks in troubleshooting the effort.

In regards to your question about what to ask your IT staff for, as an Exchange engineer myself I don't think there is anything on the server side that would let you connect and download email but not send it. So I would want to see the logs mentioned above to see what was going on with the device to server connectivity, in conjunction to the error message you already grabbed.

All of the content is downloaded on my 2013 Windows HP in iTunes. Before last year I never had this problem but now all of a sudden the picture and audio will stop. The annoying part is that the video will continue playing but the audio will go out and/or vise versa.

Try resetting the SMC before you take it in.

If the "it" refers to a compressed (zipped) spreadsheet that you downloaded, the ".ods" extension is used by LibreOffice and probably OpenOffice (which are free versions of MS Office) for spreadsheets, which would suggest that wherever you're getting that "Excel" file from has switched to one of those programs. I've tried opening an .ods file from LibreOffice using MS Office 2013 for Windows and it does open though with a warning that some things have been changed. I don't know if Office for Mac can normally open .ods files. But if your need is to just open .ods files, take a look at LibreOffice.

I just got to dubai now and have been trying to connect through facetime with my friends and I have tried over and over again for the whole day now, but I've failed. I also read posts and blogs which say facetime for iphone4 is blocked in the middle east but does that apply for macbook's as well?? If so, can i contact an apple store or service provider to get my facetime to work???

Facebook apparently has their site coded poorly for tablets with touch screens. Try using the Facebook app. It is not perfect either but it is better than view in a browser lately.

Altivec Fractal Carbon gives the CPU too much chance to cool down. I've got other ways to drive the CPU to sustained 100% load. Yes, the fans speed up, but it's still pretty quiet. I've run it at 100% for hours.
I like the idea of taking things gradually. If you can wait a few days before making big changes, it can make things much easier. 3-4 weeks is very conservative, but great if you have that much patience.
