Text alert for overage false

Since there has been problems with Verizon live chat for the past 3 days (YET AGAIN), I am posting to this discussion.  I am using a jetpack for my home Internet service.  BIG MISTAKE!!!  The Verizon sales person should have told me that the the jetpack was not a good choice for home Internet.  I received about 11 data usage alert messages in 2 days so I contacted a Verizon representative.  She upgraded my account to 18 GB.  This was either this Monday or Tuesday.  Shortly after she changed the plan, I started getting data alert messages again.  I have gotten about 5 to 10 of these messages every day this week.  SO, WHAT IS GOING ON.  I HAVE NOT BEEN USING MY COMPUTER VERY MUCH THIS WEEK, AND I HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTING THE JETPACK AT NIGHT.
THIS KEEPS HAPPENING MONTH AFTER MONTH, AND I AM FED UP.  I HAVE CONTACTED SOMEONE WITH SKYBEAM, AND I PLAN ON SWITCHING TO THEM, SO I DO NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH JETPACKS AND DATA USAGES.

I mainly use my computer for reading and writing emails, web browsing,
online shopping.  I do not download videos or music.  Every once I might
download a file.  My 7 year old daughter uses the computer once a week, or
once every two weeks.  She goes to sites like starfall.com, disney.com,
xtramath.com, etc.  And I know she downloads data from those sites.  But it
is only 2 or 3 times a month that she uses the computer.

Activity Monitor on Mac just shows the total used by the app. it's impossible in my case to efficiently disable dozens of add-ons & scripts, restart, and test each one by one b/c it can take several hrs before the CPU starts to spike high again. i have no time for this.

  • Email and Text Alerts for deaf users? A critical necessity!

    I'm a little confused. I have to use "vibrate" as my ring tone because I'm deaf. Email and text messages **ARE** the telephone for deaf users and we want to know immediately when we receive an email or txt message. But I only get one little buzz when I get an email message and I almost never notice it because it's so short. Isn't there a way to make the vibrations repeat, say, 3 or 4 times, or even until you respond to the alert? I could ask the same question about calendar alerts. Is there any way controlling how many vibrations you want to receive when your calendar kicks in? I need an alert that will draw my attention to it, nag me a little when I need it to.

    There is no way to adjust vibration lengths or times.

    How do you set up ring tones for contacts? Besides going to contacts.  I know in the S4 there was a setting under contacts to make text tones different for each contact.  How do you set it up?

    Hi,
    I've recently changed my mobile number and have (strangely) started receiving BT 1571 text alerts for what appears to be someone elses BT landline number!  I've rang various numbers in BT to try to get this stopped but always end up at an Indian Call centre where the staff don't seem to understand what I'm talking about!   My new mobile number must be a "recycled" number which has previously belonged to someone else.   Please help - these constant 1571 text messages are driving me crazy!!  Thanks

    When I receive a text if I do not view or clear the message within 60 seconds I receive another ding or alert for the same text 60 seconds later. How do I edit my messages so I only receive 1 alert per text??

    Samsung note 3 is not giving audible alerts for all my text messages since the 4.4.4 update.  I get an audible tone about 3/4 of the time.  Thinking a conversation is over I come back 45 minutes later to find another text I didn't know came in.  I've restarted my phone and checked my message settings.   Any ideas?  Factory reset is not an option!

    I'd try going back into the Text Message settings. In Sound setting, work the setting from None to an alert. Then in Vibrate put a check in the box then uncheck. Just to see if that will free it up, could be a possible corruption with the new software update?

    Settings > Sounds> Text Tone = Tri-tone
    Lock Sounds = On
    Keyboard Clicks = Off
    The mute button is also in the correct place (ring, not mute).

    Hi Jason,
    As you said there is no alert available for Text, but you can write a logic in excel to achieve this.
    Take the color code and write a logic of if(workcompleted,then = #00FF00(Green), or #FF0000(red)) then map them into the text color from the excel. For better understanding i have create a sample file on this, change the .txt extension to .xlf and preview it.

    Can you get reoccurring alerts for text, email an voicemail received? I am too dumb for my smartphone.......I have looked on the forums and cannot find an answer.
    I just got my Droid Razr Maxx HD 2 weeks ago and so far I can only find that the "little" green LED light flashes when have a text, email, or voicemail. That light is pathetic..really I can barely see it?

  • Systems Center Operations Manager false alerts for DFS

    Last weekend, SCOM generated 87 alerts for "DFSR-R: Replicated Folder Removed" across 3 different servers. The problem being, those alerts are supposed to be generated when SCOM detects event ID 4010's, however, I checked all 3 servers, and there
    were no 4010 events on any of them. Has anyone seen false positives like this? And does anyone have an idea towards preventing them in the future? I'm not even sure where to start troubleshooting this.

    Thanks for the suggestion, we actually figured it out this morning. For some reason SCOM wasn't monitoring these 3 servers correctly (and possibly others). The alerts were created from valid 4010 events, though from a month ago in one case, and early last
    year in others. However, that's not an issue for us to troubleshoot, we only support a handful of technologies for this customer, and SCOM itself isn't one of them (we just use it for monitoring the technologies we DO support).
