Text becomes scrambled from time to time

We have a intermittent issue with Adobe Reader X.
When opening PDF Files (Random ones) some of the text is scrambled and some is okay, on the same document.
When you open and close that file about 15 times, then it becomes okay.
We have reinstalled the Reader X but the problem persists.
What would cause this and is there a quick fix, or will I have to reload the computer?

I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more. And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should. On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much. I will post a note in the app store to let them know. I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.

Yes, that's how Migration Assistant works. If you'd used Setup Assistant when your new Mac first started up, you'd only have the one account.

You can delete the account you don't want, or keep it. Keeping it might be useful if there's ever a problem with the other account that prevents you from logging-on to it.

That is one of the few things that are hard to change. It can be done, but is not recommended by Apple. The problem appears to be the connection between the user account and the home folder that need to be the same. Some folks have reported permissions problems after doing it, too. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1428 (note the Additional Information at the bottom).
Alternatively, you could start over and re-transfer, via one of the workarounds in the green box of Problems after using Migration Assistant, but it's probably not worth the hassle.

My tabs favorite bar disappear from time to time. My tabs fav bar disappear from time to time. My tab fav bar appear ok when ff first open. My 2nd window also appear fine. Reading long text for more records at a time

Hi all,
We have a requirement for which that data like textid textname textobject and language must be taken in to an internal table and for each record in the internal table i have to read the long text inorder to compare the long text for the given search text.
If i use Read_text inside the loop and endloop it works but it may not be appropriate in performance point of view.
Is there any function module which can read long texts for more records at a time.
The long text data in STXL will be in raw data format right? is there any way to convert raw data to normal so that by hitting the STXL i can read the long text data for more than one record at a time.

Below is a code snippet which describes reading a long text frm the screen and appending it into the internal table.This code is actually to read the text from the screen and inserting a record into STXl and STXH.
From your query what i understood is that you are storing the long text from the screen into a internal table and so you not want to use the read_text FM due to performance issue.
Since tdline(tline table) is 132 char long format i use this small logic to read the screen data and append it to my internal table.

Are you talking about TM backups??
I would consider carefully if it is not better to start over.. TM becomes more problematic as the backups increase in age.. you can archive off the backups from the old TC if you need to store them.

For data .. copy and paste.. but make sure you turn off wireless and use ethernet as it must copy files via the computer.. by wireless this is dead slow.

From time to time, I can't verify the expiration of my client certificate on IIS.

I have a IIS web server and a CA(AD CS) server built on a 2008R2 virtual machine.
I require a client certificate in order to access the web server.
It works very well but FROM TIME TO TIME, a 403 error code is returned.
According to the trace log(FailedReqLogFiles), a 0x80092013 error occurs.
Once this 403 error occurs, it last for about an hour and then everything goes back to normal.
In order to find out what is the problem, I have done setup:
- CRL has a publication time of 1 hour
- (Delta CRL) has a publication time of 30minutes.
also:
- Both web server and CA server are not on a domain but a workgroup
- The CA certificate is registered on the web server & client on the root & intermediate certificate registrar.
- Both setups are patched to the latest windows update
As far as I've checked the log:
- on the web server log(source: CAPI2), there is an event id 53 at almost every hour for both the CRL & delta CRL
but before the problem occurs the event id 53 is only reported on the delta CRL and nothing on the CRL.
- By the way, System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\X509Objects, the .crl file for the problematic update is only present on the delta CRL.
- On the CA server's IIS access log, there is just the delta CRL access that is registered.
- Below is the log on the CA server IIS's access log (XXX-CA is for anonymous sake):

- I think that the 403 error is due to the fact this CRL is not getting reached but why would this happen?
- Is there an other way than to restart the OS in order to clear this problem in a shorter time than 1 hour?

Calculate End Time from a Start Time and Minutes Allocated

I have a meeting form which needs to have the finish time calculated from a start time and allocated time (in minutes).
The allocated time is a text field with the default of "00:00". The user can then enter the number of minutes for the agenda item to take. eg 00:20 would be 20 minutes.
The start time is a date/time calculated field which shows the current time after the allocated time has been entered. The formcalc script is :

The Finish Time field is a calculated date/time field to add up the start time and allocated minutes.

What processes are writing log to these files and what do they mean?

DATAEXPORT to RDBMS - changing column dim from Accounts to Time

While performing a DATAEXPORT to Oracle using DSN, the format of the table created has the members of the Accounts dimension in the columns and the other dimensions in the rows. Is is possible to change the column dimension from Accounts to Time while exporting data to RDBMS using the DATAEXPORT command?
The problem is that I have around 1000 members in the Accounts dimension and cannot have that many columns in my table. Is it possible to manually define the column dimension while using the DATAEXPORT command? I can use the Jexport cdf, but I am not sure if I will get the same performance as the DATAEXPORT with the bulk insert options.

IPad Air 2 freezes from time to time

I had an iPad Air (1) for a year or so .... it never froze up. I moved to a new iPad Air 2 when it came out. It freezes up from time to time. Maybe a couple times a day, then I might go day or so when it doesn't freeze, and then it will do it again. The screen just freezes. I have to reboot it each time it does this. And there's no discernible pattern to what might be triggering it. It can happen in any app, or when I tap on any app.
I know I can try doing a restore (I'd rather not... I really hate doing that... takes forever). I'll do a restore if this becomes a real problem. It's interesting that for the year I owned the iPad Air (1), it NEVER froze -- it was rock solid. In the couple weeks I've had the iPad Air 2, it's freezed up on me probably about 10 times. I'm hoping that perhaps an update will address this (unless, of course, I have a lemon).
I'm wondering if any one else has encountered this. Thanks....

Same issue here. Have had it since Oct 24th and its happened about 4 or 5 times. No pattern or sequence of events just completely freezes. Only fix is to reboot using Home button and power switch. Hopefully the freeze is captured in the logs and sent to Apple (if you've allowed this in the settings) and Apple are aware of the issue. I've seen a few posts on various forums with similar problem and even a Youtube video showing the exact same problem.
I hope it can be fixed with a software update !

The paths won't agree on the two OSs so a simple XML import isn't likely to work.
See Sync iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers and, if needed, Make a split library portable. The techniques in the first link will work when moving the library between Windows and OS X as long as the library is "portable", but iTunes takes quite some time checking the database when the library is opened under a different OS.

Data Recovery from an encrypted Time Machine HD

Does anyone have eny experience with having data retrieved from a time machine hard drive that is encrypted? I've clean installed Mountain Lion and now can't get at my time machine to restore files.
Apple support recommended I posted here and explore 3rd party recovery servies.

well, it might be possible but it won't be in any form that you can retrieve automatically. so your first priority should be to get your computer to boot and after what you can start worrying about getting your data from an incomplete TM backup. I've done that it the past and it works sometimes but it really depends on the situation. I had to do it from terminal too as it didn't work from finder.
but it need not be that you lost all data on the main drive. boot from the SL install dvd and see if disk utility sees the drive. if so, repair the drive and try booting from it. if you have disk warrior it might help too if disk utility can not fix some errors.
