Text display in Adobe forms

Dear Friends,
I have a requirement in Adobe forms to first display dynamic data and then static text subsequently. I am able to display the dynamic data. However, unable to display the static text following dynamic data. Can I get some help regarding how to make sure that the static text should come right after the dynamic data.

How does you form should look like? Describe the desired layout if you need help on this.
What texts do you need to print? Is there a technical problem? Or a layout problem? How are the texts written in the SAP system? We will solve this out, have a nice day, Otto

Making some words Bold/Underlined of an editable text field in Adobe Form?

I have a a requirement of making some words Bold/Underlined of an editable text field in Adobe Form. I have created a "Text Field" and in "Value" tab as default value I have written the textline and made the field Type as "User entered - optional" so that at runtime user can edit that text. Now they want some words of the whole text line should display as Bold and some as Underlined. Can you please help me to meet this requirement.

Just an idea, but you might try re-printing that original PDF file to the Adobe PDF printer (saving it as another pdf file, essentially). Then try again to add form fields. (You can copy the form fields you've already created and paste them onto the new file -- just copy and paste while in forms edit mode). A second shot in the dark if the first doesn't work might be to try again, but change the print settings when printing to PDF. I've ready some reports that the dpi setting can have an effect. Maybe go from 600 to 150 and see if that works. Let me know which, if either, of these ideas works.

These forms are not embedded correctly. I'm surprised they even work. You need to go to the distribute tab, click Embed button, copy the embed code provided and then paste that into your HTML. Hi Josué Cruz,
Insert the 'Interactive Form' UI element in the desired view.
And bind its 'pdfSource' property to the context atribute pdf source. Optionally, you can set height and width of the form.

How to display Formatted text view in adobe forms

Hi Folks,
We have a element formatted text edit/view in webdynpro so it is easy to make the text formates(Bullets, font sizes, etc..) in webdynpro, but the same feature is not available in Adobe forms designer...I don't find any element in the Adobe Library...
If any body have an idea how to display the formatted text in adobe, please let me know the procedure.
I have a html tag related data in my Ztable..I want to display this converted string from HTML Tab on adobe, please explain me how to fix this issue.

I found Your blog and found it really interesting... though I was not able to use it: I (like Jun Li is asking, I guess) need to use a dynamic text, containing formatting informations (according the xhtml syntax).
I tried to pass it to the form by an ABAP-dictionary based interface and by means of the context (in a webdynpro page), but both tries failed.
Some suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Problem with Table display in Adobe Form of Web Dynpro ABAP

I'm trying to display a table in Adobe Print Form (not interactive). The table is bound to the context node in the Web Dynpro ABAP where the cardinality is 0:N. I get a short dump. Don't know what to do here. I'm able to display individual fields from my context successfully. Looks like something is missing when I try to display a table. Any pointers to display a data table in Adobe? Any step by step example you know of where I can find out what I did wrong? Many thanks for your time

We upgraded our system(2004S) to SP10 so that we can use the ADOBE form printing in Web Dynpro ABAP but could not apply note 1034425 because of the validity constraints in SNOTE. All the pre-requisite notes are already in the system apart from one note 1029721 which talks about supporting input helps. We don't want to use input helps in our system and cannot upgrade to SP11 because of problems with Business functionality.
Questions:
1) Is note 1034425 absolutely dependent on 1029721?
2) If NOT, can someone please correct the validity so that we can implement using SNOTE.
3) Would it be OK if we manually apply the changes specified in 1034425 without implementing 1029721?
4) If all of the above is not applicable, is there any other note which fixes the above mentioned short dump.
Your help in this matter will greatly help us in using the ADOBE services provided by SAP WDA.

Reg : Heading display in Adobe Forms

I have Created an appln using Adobe Forms.
In Body Pages Data is displayed with Heading. I have given Flowed Option for mulitple pages display.I want the Heading
to be reflected in all the body pages.
I don't want to display it in Master Page bcos I am displaying some text in first body pages continued by the table.
Any option is there for getting Heading in all the Table display pages only. Thnks in advance...

Hi
Go to the Table in the body page -> then select the Header row only -> right click on the header row -> Go to Palletes -> Object -> Under pagination tab -> Check the check box Include Header Row in Subsequent Pages .
Then save and active it. Try this one. I think it will solve your problem.

Formatted text and smartforms/Adobe forms

Hello all,
can anybody please tell me if there is a way to display formatted text that was edited with FormattedTextEdit (or is there any other ui element that allows me to format text?) in smartforms/adobe forms with all formats? Also, is it possible to display graphics in the smartforms/adobe forms that was prior uploaded to the application server?

I implenented SAVE_TEXT AND READ_TEXT like you advised but the smartforms still doesn't show the text formats edited via BTF editor. I even tried to convert it to ITF using "CONVERT_STREAM_TO_ITF_TEXT" but it wouldn't help either. For example the text
<HTML><HEAD></HEAD> <BODY> This is a test text in Times New Roman This is a test text in Arial This is a test text in Arial and bold</BODY></HTML>
would exactly appear in this manner (using text element in smartforms) and not formatted. Do you any other ideas solving this issue?

Also there is a New tool called Adobe Flex whose integration with SAP is being discussed and worked upon in experimental stage .. the said tool has vertical text capability
but its not recommended because of lack of extensive testing with regards to Association with SAP

Simple way is to use layout format like "X_65_80" or "X_90_120"

Reducing the Text height in Adobe Forms

I have a text field which I have included for the long text of me22n transaction in the context node of Adobe forms. In the form I want to adjust the maximum height of the text field using java script or any other way, as in I do not want to print the text if it exists for more than 3 lines?

You need to implement a "flowed" design. the concept of flowed means that your field/subform/form expands as your data grows.
To do this, inserrt a subform and mark it as flowed (Top to Bottom), then drop in a text box and bind it to your input field.
In your text box's properties, make sure you allow Multiple Lines, and in your Layout pallette make sure Expand to Fit checkboxes are checked.
your field will grow or shrink depending on your input data.
EDIT: if you want to hide your field, you need to use formcalc or javascript. you need to check some value (whatever that is, is up to you) then hide your field.

         I have a problem on adobe forms....For my req. I have fields like delv no , delv item , matnr,
Customer mat no, qty , batch no and split no to display in line item level...but for one delv no there are
multiple batch and split no..If i tried to display the second delv is overlapping with second line item of
the first delv ..can any tell me how to avoid this?

Hi Dude...
create separate internal tables for line item and field for which you want to display multiple values
with common field..
For your example..
step 1. create an internal table for line item that contains the delivery no , del item, material no,
material qty, customer mat no, batch no and serial no...
Step 2. Create an internal table for batch and serial no with common fields , del item and del no.
Step 3. Go to context ..assign this second internal table under line item internal table ..
step 4. Double click on the second internal table and go to condition...there you to write the below
        condition....
        line item- delv = 2nd internal table-delv
                        and
        line item -delv item = 2nd internal table-delv item...
I hope this will solve your problem...

Setting a Text field in adobe form non editable

I have generated a Adobe form using webdynpro java. I have couple text fields. They are binded with some values which a RFC returns. When I see the output These text fiels values which are populated from backend are editable. Can anyone suggest me how to make these text fields non editable.

Hi Raj,
You have to set the properties of these text field as readonly.
For this you have to select the text field ... Go to the Object Pallete.
There you will see three Tabs Field, Value and Binding.
You have to click on Value Tab and there you have select the Type as Read Only.
If you do not have Object Pallet open .. go to Menu Bar Window and Click Object
This will solve your problem.

To make TEXT field in adobe forms dynamic

Hi Experts,
I have requirement in adobe forms where based on certain condition I want change the TEXT field accordingly.
Example if material number in of gas type than text will be "GAS MATERIAL" and then populating corresponding material number.
If itu2019s of hard goods type than text has be "HARD GOODS MATERIAL".
Please let me how this requirement can be achieved ASAP.

Hi,
Yes you can definitely make a field dynamic. Bind the text fields with varibale of type Material Number and its description which will have to create in the context (Interface) of the adobe forms. These values you can pass from your driver program or Web-Dynpro.

Issue with quantity display in Adobe forms

I am trying to display a quantity field MENGE in my Adobe form and I am encountering a problem that it is getting diplayed as 23456.320 while it should be displayed as 23,456.320 i.e. the thousand separator is missing .
Please help

I have already given the same.
Change the locale to English. This has dot as decimal seperator then you apply the below coding.
Try this code at the layout ready event.

this.format.picture.value = "z,zzz,zzz,zzz,zz9.99";
