Text displays on sites like Google Spreadsheets, as well as all PDF documents is transparent, even in Safe mode.
Recently I have noticed a very strange phenomenon in Firefox. I first noticed it in Google Spreadsheets; text does not display in the cells, but does if I bring a specific cell up for editing. I thought this limited to the new Google Spreadsheets, since the old Google Spreadsheets still function normally. It's just the new ones exhibiting this behavior.
However, I quickly noticed that PDF files opened in Firefox exhibit the same behavior. The text is not white; it is totally transparent, like it's not being rendered at all.
HOWEVER, if Firefox is not in focus, AND some text is selected, the text renders in the selection. Shown: http://imgur.com/bWWLvLr
Windows cleartype does not seem to affect this, nor does it seem to be any of my addons; even in safe mode the problem persists.
This problem is not present in Windows Internet Explorer, so it doesn't seem to be my system.
I'd appreciate fixing this problem, as I make frequent use of Google docs.
No, I have not. Firefox text & font options are default. Driver-wise, yes, this is up to date. I should note that in the case of Google Spreadsheets, the text appears briefly before disappearing.
This would have led me to believe it was one of my addons, but the safe mode test dismissed that idea.

(Firefox 8) cannot display home page without explicitly typing into address bar (not at start-up and home button doesn't work either). Also, cannot see tabs at all (enabled or disabled).
Any suggestions?????I also have this problem and it just started in the last week or so. It seems to be dependent on my home network and the problem only exists with firefox. I have used chrome and IE8 with no issues. I can verify tomorrow that it only exists in my network but one thing I was able to test is that the problem exists even on my linux boot. I am totally dumbfounded with this problem and I can't find anything that will allow the gmail page to load. All other pages I have tried load fine, all be it a little slower than normal but they load. If anyone knows of a difference between firefox and all other browsers on how it goes through the router I would appreciate the info cause I don't know of any differences.

I'm trying to read some XML data from temperature logger over my network. I'm using LabView version 2009 sp1. I'm using the URL Get Document Vi. It works fine when using Internet sites like google or foxnews etc...
When I use it with my temperature logger most of the time I get an Error 66...but some times it does work and actually retrieves the document.
I can use the same address "http://172.22.21.68/XMLfeed.rb" (Internet Explorer or Google Chrome) in my browser and get a response every time. When accessing from my browser the server in the temperature logger does take around 6 seconds to respond, but it does respond every time.
Is the URL Get Document Vi exceeding a timeout? If so, where can I set it to wait longer?
Attachments:
Error 66.jpg 183 KBIt looks like the TCP Buffered Read has a 2.5 sec timeout, I believe that is where I had trouble as well. Try creating your own URL Get HTTP Doc vi in which you call URL Get Document in normal mode, with an appropriate number of characters to fetch (enough characters so that you capture all the important data in the XML file).

I want to disable the print screen function on a particular url opened on a firefox browser. But, print screen should work on generic websites like google.com. Does mozilla allow me to customize the keyboard function 'PrntScrn' based on the url?
Hello,
From my understanding print screen is a Windows function, and Firefox won't be able to control it. In addition, there are other ways to take screenshots, such as the Snipping Tool. -
I have tried safe mode, all the options outlined here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can
This doesn't seem to be related to any particular site. When I try to access a web server running locally on my machine, I can see that the request is sent and the server responds as well. But the page will not render.
What I'm trying to do:
1. Open firefox, navigate somewhere (works)
2. Browse around
3. Seemingly at random, when clicking a link, it will stay in the state a:active and the new address will be displayed in the address bar, but page content will not be rendered (link still active, as I was holding the mouse button on it)
One site that it happens with, is http://fortumo.com
happens in safe mode, with or without addons and doesn't seem to be affected by the theme either.Anything unusual if you check the Net log or the Network tab in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer;Ctrl+Shift+K)?

Note that you need to reload the page (F5 or Ctrl+F5) to create/update the log. -
Okay, The screen just makes everything go to the right side and I can't view the videos. Help!! If this matters, I have the latest firefox and flash editions!!

When I do a Google search and then click on a link, it almost always takes me to a nonsensical, non-sequiter site that has nothing to do with the targeted site. The word "redirect" appears in the tab briefly. For awhile running completely in safe mode helped but it wasn't clear to me at all the relationship between the check boxes and the "Make Changes and Restart" and "Continue in Safe Mode" buttons and when I chose the 'Make Changes' I lost all bookmarks and the tab toolbar. But did not have redirection problems. When I imported my bookmarks and personal tab tool bar, even now that I run in 'Safe Mode' I still get redirected. Malwarebytes and AVG find nothing new currently although Malwarebytes has a long list of quarantined trojan downloaders, fake alerts and a couple ROOTKIT.TDSS files it discovered 5 days ago.

Would like to automate the process of hyperlinking pdf documents
I've been tasked with finding a solution to the following problem:
A need has arisen where I work where large PDF files (commonly > 2000 pages) need to be hyper-linked. The PDF files are in fact Brief's of Evidence (prosecution files) and are generally in a particular format and order. Generally, the order is as follows: 1. Various index documents, 2. Witness statements and 3. Exhibit documents. Usually there are many more exhibit documents than there are witness statements.
In each witness statement, the witness may refer to an many exhibit documents and it's this reference that needs to be hyper-linked to the particular exhibit document (located many pages away). As a standard each exhibit is allocated an exhibit number, commencing at 1 but displayed as "0001". The filename of the individual exhibit is accordingly named, "0001.pdf" Using Adobe Professional (version 7) these files are merged and as a consequence bookmarks are automatically created.
What tools from Adobe are available that will assist with programmatically or automatically scanning (checking) each witness statement (a pdf document) and where relevant predetermined (however that's done or achieved) areas (exhibit references) are required to be hyperlinked to their respective document many pages away.
Is this doable? Are there developer kits available?
Any advice appreciated.
Regards,
Steven TaylorAcrobat can't do what you want out of the box. It needs a plug-in that can do that. Have a look at this third party plug-in for Acrobat: AutoBookmark Plug-in for Adobe® Acrobat® / Create and Manage PDF Bookmarks, Links and Destinations It has a trial version so you can test it to see if it meets your needs.

OK this problems limited to Facebook only. When logged in FF12 the entire page is scrambled. The pictures are stacked over each other and are 5 to 6 times the size their supposed to be. I have tried everything I could think of to fix this it even runs like this when in safe mode. I have uninstalled all plugins and all extensions I have uninstalled and even tried back dating FF. it's still so massively out of proportion that you can't do anything. .even when zoomed out 3x it's so large the pictures are larger than my screen. They are still overlapped so bad you can't do a thing with it. Even worse I uninstalled and installed pale moon and the effects migrated to that browser as well. Only browser I found unaffected by this is IE. Lord knows I don't wanna ever have to go that rout so I'm asking for help. I have a whole list of parsing errors and decoration drops, to many to post. any help would be much appreciated until it's fixed I'm stuck with IE. Chrome wont work with the software I run only IE or FF will.
-> press '''CTRL''' + '''0''' (zero) to '''Reset''' Zoom

For past month or so, when I view Wikipedia a few other sites, sections of text are displaying in a large, cursive font. I can't find any rhyme or reason to what sections are showing this way. It's not happening on all sites but there are two or three where I'm seeing it. It makes things really hard to read. For a screen capture, see this file I put on [https://www.yousendit.com/download/T2dlQ3QycWZJMHRBSXRVag YouSendIt] YouSendIt.
I don't seem to have Arial Corsiva installed but when I just now disabled the Zapfino font family, then seems to fix the problem. Text now shows up as intended.

I have 6 Google logins stored in LastPass. Since I upgraded FireFox to v.6, I can't choose an alternate login to my normal one. I also have occasional trouble with LastPass simply not filling in my login information at all, for instance on my Merrill Lynch online account. I opened a ticket with them and they said it was Google's fault. It was working perfectly until the last FireFox upgrade.
Just for the record: this turned out to be an issue with backleveled Java code. If you still have it, go to the Java code site and check to make sure you have the latest version. If you don't, download it and it should fix the problem.
